my Nokia 6500s not supports may .jar sofwares like MP4 players, MP3 players, Dictionaries ect. Which are the best softwares for Nokia 6500? please suggest.

No device is 100% bug free, then there will no work for people writing codes there to make devices stable, Is ur device updated to the latest firmware if not then do the update and check it can i update NSU Download

Nokia 6500S Software Updater - PROBLEM

I was hoping that someone could give some assistance with a problem that I encountered with my brand-new Nokia 6500s (slider).
I purchased the item about 3 days ago. It's a beautiful phone with great functionality. But, I noticed that I was having some unexplained delays with SMSs. I would send an SMS and I would receive their responses 2+ hours late from the recipient.
So, I decided to update the phone's software with my PC using the Nokia Software Updater. I had used it before with my Nokia E70 with great ease.
I connected the 6500s with my PC via USD and connected with PC Suite and then started up the Nokia Software Updater. The phone had a full battery and the connection to PC Suite was recognized.
I was updating to 4.84. While updating, the phone's display went blank but the bottons were still illuminated and the update seemed to be proceeding normally. Then, at the 3-minute to completion point, I started hearing those MS XP sounds that indicate a USB device has been plugged in or removed, then the phone appeared to shut off. I thought it strange, then the Nokia Software Updater put up a screen that said "Connection with Phone Lost."
UGH! I immediately tried to power on the phone, but it seems it's now "dead." I have held the power botton for a long time, but it doesn't do anything.
Can anyone please let me know what can be done? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The only way to get your phone working again is to visit a nokia care point/service centre. It will be covered under warranty (unless you have imported it) and they may be to fix it while you wait.

Nokia 5235 Software Issue

Hi,
I am using nokia 5235 mobile. While trying to update mobile software using nokia suite it is showing 12052 error.
while I am checking the mobile version using *#0000# .
It is showing the following details:
Software version : v50.9.002
Software version date 24-5-2011
custom version : 50.9.002.562.01
Custom version date 19-07-2011
Model : 5238 ---------------> I guess this is wrong.
Type : RM -588
Can anyone help me how to solve this issue.

Recently my mobile software is corrupted because I downloaded 2 anti virus at a time, so the mobile is not working properly.
I approached Nokia service center for update software, after 2 days they told that some problem is there with my mobile so they are not able to install the software and mobile is switched off.
Then I approached private mobile repair organization , they did something with in a 1 hour span and my mobile is working fine. After that I noticed that they have installed different version of the software,
Nokia service center people said that some mobile mother board is not working.
Is it true. Can I update my mobile to latest nokia 5235 software.

Nokia 5310 software issue

Hello, I dont know if this has been answered before or are there any solutions to this problem but my Nokia 5310 shuts off by itself right after the Nokia "handshake" logo. This happened right after i formatted my microSD card and dont know what else to do. Is there anyway to reset the software or something cuz i dont wanna send it to Nokia for repairs

I only had music on my microSD but i when i took the microSD out thats when the problem occured. I did some googling and it turned out that stock Nokia 5310 had software that didnt rly like .mp3 files so occassionally my phone reset itself when i listened to music. But when i found about about this it was a bit too late :\

After updating the phone software of Nokia E90, the device gets switch off every 2-3hrs.
Before update the device was performing good.

Software issue with nokia 6500 slide handsets

Hi All
I have 2 nokia 6500 slide handsets that seem to have the same issue that driving me mad..
It seems no matter how many times i set a ringtone and screen saver, the phone reverts back to the standard nokia ringtone and a blank screensaver???
I have phoned my network provider who dont seem to be of any help at all and just keep advising me that i should try upgrading the software via the pc suite which ive done several times with no fix!
Im thinking this must be a fault with this handsets/ software as both my phones are doin it and also 3 of my friends phones also are doin the same thing!
Does anyone know why this keeps happening as im really getting fedup with having to reset my ringtone/ screen saver all the time..

I purchaced a nokia 6500 slide around christmas 08 and by janurary it was away getting fixed because of the phone whiting out resetting scrambling my contacts wouldnt take pictures wouldnt read my memory card because of the stupid clip on the back which you need so it will read it is now august 09 it has been away for repairs 3 times in total it has spent about 3 months away being repaired so i do not reccomend buying one waste of money and time thanks nokia job well done.

There are three issues I think should be discussed:
1. Why NokiaMServer is launcing so many processes?
2. What is it doing? Converting video, but why?
3. Ffdshow is GPL'd library. Wouldn't it make NokiaMServer at least to fall under GPL licence?

Nokia's software would only have to be released under the GPL if it linked to GPL'ed software, ie. if it incorporated it into its own libraries. If it only invokes GPL'ed software (even if that GPL'ed software is bundled with it) then there are no such constraints. If there were, you'd have to release Windows under GPL as well since it can invoke GPL'ed software through ShellExecute().
Also, the software you mention looks like it is based on ffmpeg, which is normally released under the LGPL (but can be released under GPL in certain circumstances).

i m having nokia 6500s-1. product key is 0556765. the software version is 4.04. now 7.62 version for 6500s is available. but my product key is not showing any upgrade version of phone software. again my phone sometimes hang and restart while talking. the theme also shift to default theme suddenly. what can i do ???

That is strange that calendar entries and personalised settings are not being restored to your phone after the update.
It is unlikely that Nokia will release another firmware update for the 6500 Slide. It was released in October 2006 or thereabouts, same as the 5610 XpressMusic, and with the release of newer models, the support cycle for the 6500 Slide has most likely ended with the release of the last update, 10.00, for unbranded product codes of the handset.

Nokia 5530 XM, phone software issues/headaches

I got my 5530 XM around 2 months ago. It was my first Nokia (been a Sony Eric fan for over 5 years). Anyway i liked its touch interface and all.
But then i noticed the phone would restart (reddish/grayish horizontal lines leading to a white screen and then reboot) on average once/twice a day randomly.
I used the nokia update software to get the latest firmware, with that applied, the restarts frequency was decreased. But around 3 weeks ago, i noticed th phone would become unresponsive at times. Like i'd click on a menu item and i'd hear the small vibration of the force feedback, but nothing would launch, in such situations the phone won't respond to any touches, other than lock/unlock slide key and the turn on/off switch.
The only way to get out of that is to restart the phone. But this unresponsiveness is really annoying. I also did a re-install of the firmware from the nokia-software-updater 2 days ago, but the phone still gets stuck in unresponsive state. Sometimes you get unresponsiveness while you're receving a call. You can click all you want to accept the call but nothing would happen. sometimes i have to remove the phone cover and take out the battery and then put it back in and start the phone again to make things go back to normal.
Other than that, at times i'm unable to launch the camera. Its such an embarassment to be a nokia users, 2,3 times at party with friends i had to take some pictures with my NEW NOKIA 5530 and i noticed the camera wouldn't launch (From applications > Camera), there is the small circle on top of the camera icon (that appears for minimized applications), but clicking the icon does nothing.
Even restarting the phone doesnt help.
My phone is still within its 10/12 month warranty period. but i'm truly disappointed in nokia's software. Can someone please help me fix this problem? i've never faced any software issues with my other brand fones and i really love the touch feature of this phone and the interface but the UnTested Operaing System from Nokia is really becoming a headache for me.
Being a software engineer myself, it makes me wonder if there is any quality assurance going on in software departments at nokia. I remember watching a Nokia video on youtube showing how nice and long their hardware quality assurance tests were > which lead me to buying nokia 5530 as my next phone, but this software, it makes me dislike the phone more every passing day

i also have dis problem wid my nokia 5530.igave it to nokia care centre they updated my software version but again i am facing restarting problem.red or green lines appear and my phone reboots.i am a nokia user.i had used many of nokia's models but never faced dis restarting problem.i also want help 4m anyone.

Nokia 6500 Slide Software Update

I purchased the Nokia 6500 Slide phone at Christmas. I was having a problem with receiving photos and telephoned Nokia. They asked me the version of software on the phone - think it's 3.8. I was told it needed updating to the 4.84 version. I was given the name of a local Nokia Engineer who would be able to do this for me. I have contacted the company and have been told that they would be happy to do this for me, but I would have to leave the phone with them for two days.
Having just read some comments on a website it seems the latest version is in fact 6.60 but there appear to be conflicting views on the software.
Can anyone please advise me whether I am safer sticking with the original software on the phone or having it updating to the 4.84 version - what are the advantages of the new software?

External SMTP server on Nokia 6500 slide

Is there any possibility to change the SMTP server setting for email on nokia 6500 slide? When adding an email account the phone automatically assumes that you would like to send the emails thru the mobile providers ISP, but i have an external ISP with SSL login at port 495.
Is it possible to get any advanced settings in this phone?

6500 sync issues

Hi there, new to this forum so well done to all those who have fuelled the knowledge pit, and i bring my own new issue: Recently had a Nokia 6500 slider > first sync/restore with PC no problem > after this it does not sync with anything not even another nokia phone. Spoke to all who would answer the phone [including 1hr to Nokia helpline] without any new answers. Exchanged handset and same issue > white screen [partial reboot]. Shame nice handset simple software, but it would not do as it promised. Was it me or are they all having this issue?
Using XP S2 / Last version of PC suite and USB cable

I have managed to use most functions of the PC suite with no problem. The only exception is updating contacts - this does not work as the edit screen opens and closes immediately. I manually copied a contact to the PC and tried opening it and got an error due to the format of the VCF file - the one the PC suite created :-(
My previous phone, 6111, worked fine.

we need to add in the contacts a pause between numbers eg. 123545PP12233445# to route through our PABX
usually its the Asterix hold down produces a P
one phone is not doing this i think its the Classic?

The message centre settings are only relevant for sending messages, they are not necessary to receive - when you send a message from your phone, it is sent to your operator's message centre (that's where the setting for the number comes in), and once the message is in the hands of the network it ends up relayed to the receiving phone's number.
It is strange to hear of somebody able to send but not receive, normally it is the other way around which is where the message centre setting comes in. If it the case that you are not receiving texts from any number of several tried, then there might be a software issue preventing the phone handling the incoming message, in which case try something as simple as a software update might help (www.nokia.com/softwareupdate), but I would be more tempted to suspect a problem on the network side.

How to send .jar files via bluetooth in Nokia 6500...

I am not able to send and see the option of sending jar files vai bluetooth . I want to know how to send it.

Its something like , I already have it on my mobile and wanna transfer that file to my another same mobile.
This is case when i am away from my comp. so that i can transfer songs,images etc via bluetooth but not jar files. Is there any option or any software for Nokia 6500 slide ??
I saw in some othen N's phone they have file manager option and they transfer app. via that through bluetooth.
But there is no option in NOKIA 6500 SLIDE ??? Is it a bug ???
