Nokia 6555 Battery charging

Hi to all,
I am receiving a Nokia 6555 phone. I have heard they need frequent charging.
I have also heard this was an early battery problem and it has been fixed.
Please comment.
Thanks,
Jack

Hi
I bought a Nokia 6555 last week and my battery has a very poor life too. I use my phone only 10 minutes/day and I have to recharge it every 48 hours. Reading many forums I found many suggestments like disabling Bluetooth (didn't work), Disable UMTS (didn't work) ... Now I found a new solution that may fix the problem. The fact is that the electric contact between battery and cell.phone is very bad. The battery is moving, and sometimes as it moves the contact lose there connection with the battery terminals.
To fix the problem I put a piece paper (rolled 4/5 times in order to have the disired thickness) inside the battery container in order to fit extra space between cell.phone and battery. The piece of paper must be put on the contact opposite side.

  • Nokia 6133 - battery charge life

    Hi all,
First post here. I have noticed that my new Nokia 6133 has a very short battery charge life. I already did the usual 3 full discharge/charges and was now expecting it to last several days. I charged it yesterday, logged 20 minutes of send/received calls, one received e-mail msg and the battery is now less than half charged. Also, I have the screen savers off.
Are there better batteries available for this Nokia 6133 model?
    Thanks,
    JPRola

eew, reading: I read your comment, wherein you sounded rather irritated.... how could somebody ask such a stupid questions does he know nothing about computers? You are right I am no computer geek - just a simple user who loves the Mac. I have read the whole page and no where does it give a layman like me even the faintest idea that in real life the charge could be as low as 33% of the up to figure!
    Hi Josh,
Eew, myself and many of the other "regulars" respond to thread identical to yours on a daily basis. There are hundreds of threads started in the past 90 days where the first post is pretty much identical to yours: "So Apple advertised 8-9 hours but I'm not getting it, why?" Even looking at my own posting history, I've responded to 46 threads with this same theme since June 1st. So while I can't speak for eew, I understand his perceived frustration.
Your battery life is going to vary based on usage, as I'm sure you know. I can routinely get 5+ hours of light usage on my new machine but if I tax it then I can easily drain the battery in about 2 hours, sometimes even faster if I really wanted to prove a point.
As for "sales gimmicks," at the end of the day Apple is in the business of making money. If them advertising super long battery life is what allows them to move units then they're doing it right. If you're not satisfied with your product, you feel it may be defective or doesn't work as advertised you're more than welcome to return it, ask for an exchange or request that the unit be serviced.

  • Disappointing Nokia Drive+ battery charging experi...

We have many threads about the phone dropping charge while on the charger so I decided to order a good quality 2.1 amp charger and use it with the OEM cable.
I drove a route that takes about 18-20 minutes with the charger and I gained about 8% battery charge in the process.  This was actually quite good compared to some previous driving chargers.
Then I returned on the same route with Nokia Drive+ turned on.  This is the updated version that was just released today.  By the time my route was over I lost 4% battery charge while on the charger.
To contrast, I can run waze (3D turn by turn nav app) on my iPhone 4 and gain charge at the same time.

I've had a few more mixed results.  However, I'm not sure if is app version related.
Yesterday I updated Nokia Drive+ from a link posted on WPCentral as they reported the update before it hit the store.  That is what I ran my first test on.  Then the app store notified me about an update again.  It reinstalled for a second time.  This time my settings had to also be reset.
Anyway, the next time I tested the battery usage I acutally gained some charge for the first half and then I lost the charge again for a net wash on battery charge.  What was interesting is the half of the trip where I gained charge was rather slow driving.
The next run I did I lost 1% charge but the phone didn't get super hot either.

  • Nokia 6555

Two questions: (1) How do you edit the current Address Book on this phone to indicate which phone number is attached to a name (i.e., Mobile or Office, etc.)? The AT&T store transferred my address book from my old phone without this indication--now I have no idea which numbers are for cell phones and which are home phones--very odd; (2) Can you only set one alarm? I actually used my old phone as an alarm clock (to wake my daughter, to call my mom to take her medications, etc.), but it appears that this phone will only accept one alarm at a time. Thanks for any help you can give me.

You do know you can download the Nokia PC Suite software for FREE?
Transferring a contact list from an old phone to a new phone is useful only temporarily.
I found that it is easier to just re-input your contact list.
And that is much easier if you get the Nokia PC Suite & do it in that software on your computer (easier than trying to re-input all of that information on your phone's keypad).
I bought the Nokia CA-101 USB cable ($29.99) to connect my Nokia 6555 to my PC (no Bluetooth on my PC).
If you have to input a lot of contact names, it DOES drain the battery on the Nokia 6555. You may want to consider also plugging the phone into the charger to do this so you do not deplete the battery before you are done inputting.

  • Nokia 6555's external screen turns on alone?

    Hi,
I've just bought a nokia 6555 (and hope I won't regret it!) and something seems weird: sometimes, without touching the phone, the external screen with the analogic watch turns on alone...
Do you know what could make that happen?
Just hope that there won't be any battery problem, like it seems to be for most people who owned a nokia 6555.... :s
     Thanks
     >Sorry if I've made some mistakes, I'm French...

So I went to an apple store today, and explained them my problem. We tried a new "mini-dvi to vga" adapter but still the external screen was green!! Also, when using my adapter that I supposed was broken on another PB the output singal was perfect! So as it turns out, it's my PB thats not working properly..
The guys at the store said it must be somthing with the motherboard.. I just don't think I can miss my PB for more than a few days!! :P

  • Nokia Wireless Car Charger (CR200) Release Date

Is there any information on a release date for the Nokia Wireless Car Charger? I saw the intro of the product at MWC, and I'm really interested in purchasing one. I haven't been able to find any information regarding the release date though. Does anyone happen to have any information about the release?
I was able to find this:
    http://press.nokia.com/products/media/7924/photo/nokia-920_wireless_charging_car_holder_cr200_lan_rg...
    But that's all.
    Thanks!

It is now two months after this last posting. Any more news? I heard the FCC approved it. Could buy one in England and then have it shipped over here. Really need it. I'm SO surprised how quickly my battery runs down when I use the Nokia Here. Great navigation, but a real battery eater

  • Nokia e6, which charger to use?

    Hello everyone,
I just got my Nokia E6.
The charger in the pack (AC-15E) has a considerable noise when connected to the phone. There is no noise when connected to other Nokia phone.
So I decided to use a charger from my previuos X3-02.5 phone. It is AC-11E.
My question is - is there any chance to ruin my battery with the different charger? And is the battery charge ok, I mean will it last as charged with the original charger?
I seacrched over the Internet and I found that AC-15E only charges the phone quickly.
    Any answers wil be appreciated.
    THank you
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Well, they do say slow charging extends the number of charge cycles so in theory the slower charger is probably better for the battery. Then again, part charging is also better then full cycles etc etc so there you go, where do you stop?
It's a lithium ion battery, so charge as you please. There is no memory effect. Avoid leaving connected to charger for too long after the phone is fully charged and that's about it.

  • Nokia 5530 battery problems

hi there can anybody help, my nokia 5530 was charging fine till yesterday, however last nite i plugged it back in to charge, the phone recogised the charger but didnt start charging! is this a battery fault or does phone need repairing.
    Thanks in advance

Well, it could be a number of reasons, but if you download green charging from ovi store, which is a battery charge monitoring app, you could find out if its just full charged.
If you find my post helpful please click the green star on the left under the avatar. Thanks.

  • Nokia 5300 battery

I am having real problem with the Nokia 5300 battery life. I have never expect this type of problem with Nokia phones. I usually encounter this type of problem with Motorola phones. I've bought this phone for 2 weeks and already have to buy a spare battery because the phone battery keeps running out. I use the bluetooth headset sometimes (on standby) other than that I hardly ever talk on the phone and would not dare using it to listen to music since I am worry about the battery. There is no reason why I should charge my phone that often. Not only does the battery not last, it takes 3 - 4 hours to charge. Changing spare battery has not been a easy task too. The back casing is very difficult to open when you have long nails.
I have been using Nokia phones for the last 10 years, changed 8 different models, and had loved every one of them. This is the first time that I am disappointed.

    Lithium Polymer (Li-Poly) :
The newest and most advanced technology for cellular phone batteries. This brand new chemistry of battery allows for the most compact cells available. Li-Poly batteries are extremely light and in most cases very thin allowing for the highest battery life for the size. Lithium Polymer batteries share all of the benefits of Li-Ion plus can last up to twice as long.
    Advantages:
-Very low profile - batteries resembling the profile of a credit card are feasible.
-Flexible form factor - manufacturers are not bound by standard cell formats. With high volume, any reasonable size can be produced economically.
-Lightweight - gelled electrolytes enable simplified packaging by eliminating the metal shell.
-Improved safety - more resistant to overcharge; less chance for electrolyte leakage.
-Lithium Polymer had lesser power dissipation.
-Lithium Polymer supports larger capacity even at the same size with Lithium Ion ones.
    Limitations:
-Lower energy density and decreased cycle count compared to lithium-ion.
    -Expensive to manufacture.
-No standard sizes. Most cells are produced for high volume consumer markets.
    -Higher cost-to-energy ratio than lithium-ion

  • Nokia 7210 Battery

My Nokia 7210 Battery is giving less than 24 hour standby time and charging time is more than 3 hours. How can I check the genuinity of the battery.

if you just got the phone bring it back to point of purchase .did you give it the initial 1st charge for 2 or 3 hours it will take a few days for the battery to stabilize and dont keep bluetooth on either as this drains battery

  • Nokia 6280 mains charger

    Hi
i was just wondering if anybody has had issues with thier stock nokia 6280 charger both mine and my mate have had the end (bit inserted into the phone) snapped off.
    cheers

I got a duff one sent with the phone. I returned the lot as it was a contract. They in turn returned the phone and charger with two letters enclosed (stock letters I reckon) one stated that the phone was ok and the second letter said that the battery charger was un-serviceable and I would need to buy a new one. Well, I waited for about 3 days and decided to buy one for £5 They did send me a replacement eventually after a further week. I was totally fed up.
Everything seems to be ok now, but the phone's battery has a short charge life and not enough memory IMO.
I have a charger at work and one at homenow.
I wish I would have gone for a Sony erickson walkman something like the W800i

  • First battery charge and current issues?

    Hi!
I just bought a new MacBook (2.0 GHz, 160 GB). I have two quick questions:
    1. I plugged in my AC adapter, turned on the notebook for about 5 minutes to make sure it works fine, etc, then shut it down to let the battery charge. Would I have lost any battery capacity by not fully charging the battery first? And do I need to let the battery run through a full cycle when I first use the computer to ensure full capacity?
    2. Are there any updates/best practices for the 2008 (December) MacBook batteries? I know there was an issue in 2007, but for the new line am I set to go? And is it still best practice to put shut the Mac down instead of putting it to sleep to save wear and tear on the hard-drive/battery?
sorry for all the questions: it has been 5 years since I bought my last notebook so I am a bit rusty/excited!

  • Yoga 3 Pro Battery Charging Problems

I've combined several discussions into one because there are multiple cross-overs of symptoms.
After reviewing all the posts, I see there are two types of problems discussed:
Battery charging but only to a certain percentage
    Battery intermittently charging
Several people have reported success with their limited battery percentage problem by following the solutions suggested by MarinM and Vladtech.
For the intermittent charging, several people have reported that sometimes the battery charges, sometimes it doesn't. I'd like to dig into these reports. I have a few questions I'd like to ask.
When does it charge, when does it not?
Are there any patterns to this?
Does swapping electrical outlets make a difference?
Does the USB 2.0 charging port appear loose?
Does the cable show any signs of damage?
Does the AC adapter show any signs of damage?
When a second device is plugged into the extra USB port on the AC Adapter, does this impact Y3P charging?
Are there any battery error messages?
    Thank you for your help,
