Nokia 6620 only works as Modem

Hello !
When i try to use iSync with my cellphone Nokia 6620 only works as modem. Going to settings, modem is the only service available.
I have another phone that works like modem and can transfer contacts and events.
What can i do to make my 6620 working to sync contacts and events ?

I cannot see any obvious issue with your device profile, though it may be that the Nokia SyncML Server profile must present, as it is in mine. I simply don't know: maybe Julian Wright or Alexander Traud could tell you it that is the case.
The other possibility is that your installation of iSync 2.4 is not complete, though I would seek to determine if your profile is identical to that of others on the same mobile handset, from another carrier provider, as they sometimes choose to defeat or otherwise interfere with the operation of specific Bluetooth profiles. US carrier Verizon Wireless is probably best know for engaging in this behavior.

Nokia 6600 only works from one cell tower

I have this weird problem with my phone where it will only work off one cell tower. Once I leave the coverage of that cell tower it will not work anywhere else.
It started a few months ago and i'm not to sure why?
The funny thing is it's the cell tower on top of my building at work, so when i'm at work it will work (calls/txt/etc) but as soon as I go home or even go to another city it will not.
Any ideas?

The first thing I'd recommend you do is to reset your phone, but I can't tell from the 6600's webpage what OS you're running so I can't give you instructions on how to do this.
Have a look through your menus to see if you can find an option to reset to factory defaults, but please remember that doing so will wipe ALL data from your phone.
If you wish to backup your data you can do so using the PC Suite application which you can find here :

A very strange charging problem - nokia 6620

Hey all. I have a nokia 6620 phone that has been working perfectly. I recently went on holiday and used my charger in the hotel's 120V plug and it worked fine. Most of the other plugs in the hotel room were 240V I believe, with three holes. Anyway, on returning home, my charger started acting weird. The first time used it on my phone I saw the message "Not Charging". I had never received this error before. After that the phone would simply not charge at all when using that charger.
It gets stranger. I then borrowed another identical original nokia charger and plugged it into my phone. It charged the phone, but only when the phone is held perfectly still in certain positions. If it is moved the charging seems interrupted, and sometimes stops altogether.
Even weirder - I have been using this borrowed charger for several days. Tonight I tried to charge the owner's phone with it, and it is not charging her phone at all. It is as if by charging my phone the charger was spoiled.
And to crown it all, I took my phone to a repairman to be checked out. As soon as the repairman plugged in his charger, the phone began charging perfectly. The repairman could do nothing. So it charges perfectly elsewhere but not at home? I am now baffled.
Is it my phone at fault? Is it that I should buy a new charger? Does the 240 voltage when I was on holiday have anything to do with it, even though I only used the available 120V? Help please.

The iPod battery indicator is only a very loose approximation of how much charge there actually is left. Do you have access to a wall charger?

However, given what you've already tried, you should consider the fact that the battery is faulty.

N8 HDMI only works in portrait mode, gets disconne...

Hi. Like the title states, my Nokia N8 HDMI works as expected in portrait mode but when I turn the phone sideways (like when I want to play Angry Birds) it immediately gets disconnected. Even the small "HDMI" logo in the top right corner disappears.
I initially thought it was because the connector was loose so I tried holding it firmly while turning the phone. Same results. Then I tried detach/reattach the cable in landscape mode - no response from the phone at all.
If I switch back to portrait mode the HDMI connection consistently and automatically gets restored without having to detach/reattach the cable.
Is this just a simple setting I need to change in the phone system, or is it a hardware defect? Any help you guys can provide will be very appreciated.

I don't have HDMI cable for my N8 but judging from a bot of googling i did, the thing should work for landscape HDMI. You may have a software problem of an issue with the accelerometer. Are you having issues with any other landscape apps?
You may have to get the phone re-flashed at a nokia care point.

Help my MBP 2011's USB ports only work with powered devices

Hey.
My USB ports are only working with powered devices ( such as an interactive white board) they are not working wiht a USB modem, it picks up but doenst have the energy to dial out. it also doesnt work with a flash drive.
this is only recent after i updated non vital programs such as printer things.
now the other problem is that i have not updated this too recently but i dont mind losing some info.
ps. i have done all of the restarts such as smc, ram. pram. the only thing i have not done is take out the batt. but thats becuase its really hard to do and there are warnings all over it saying dont remove.
p.p.s i am running snow10.6.8
Please help becuase i need it to help teach some of my stundets and not being able to use a USB or the internet to research is impeeding my planning.

Apple Time Capsule working with Windows 7 PC will not work when modem is connected directly to the Time Capsule. Only when a Cisco Linksystem is connnected inbetween the modem and the Time Capsule.

Sorry but it needs much more specific info than this..
What modem? Is it cable or adsl or some other?? Is it pure modem or broadband router included?
Cable has specific issues different to adsl.
If you used to use the Cisco/linksys router.. and have not reset the cable modem it will not work. Turn off the cable modem.. it must be powered down.. if battery backup drop out the battery. Remove the coax cable.. get it off. Power down everything else in the network.
Plug in the modem to the TC wan port.
Power up the modem.. wait 2min
Power up the TC.. wait 2min
Power up the clients.
If it has worked you will now be able to open the airport utility on the windows computer and see the TC has a public ip on the WAN port. If not redo the whole thing but leave the modem off.. 15min.. 1 hour.. 1 day.. ring the cable company and ask them to reset. Usually a few minutes is enough.
If you have a modem with combined router.. then bridge the TC. Just google search it.
For other combos.. tell us specifics..

Using nokia mobile phone as a modem problem

I want to link up two computer (running XP) throughh two modems.
First, I set a PC that use 56k dailup modem as become a server (accept incoming connection), then connected by a PC that use nokia 6230 modem as a client and success. The 56k dailup can receive the call automatically and each PC can access the local area network to another.
However, it has a problem when i try to use 56k modem to connect to 6230. it seems 6230 treat the call as a voice call and not answer to it and I must set 6230 as a server in my place.
Then, i replaced the 56k dailup modem by a nokia 6610i and installed the lastest driver. However, the 6610i cannot dailup or receive call from 6230 except a voice call.
Finally, i try to borrow another 6230 from my friend (two 6230) and all works fine.
My question is:
1. How can I set 6230 modem as a server to accept connection from 56k dailup modem automatically?
or
2. How can I make connection between 6230 and 6610i (they work as modems)?
or
3. What fuctions can make 6230 to connect to a 56k modem? (is it fax??coz i want to make sure another model i buy has this function)

I think you are right because i just borrowed another 6230i from my friend. Now i have 6230 and 6230i, the ringing tone of the server (receive side) is different to a vice call and the connection between two computers is success.
I'm sorry if I may have made a wrong post here because i still have a problem in configing my 6610i as a modem in my windows. I have tried the "nokia 6610i Cable" and "nokia 6610i Infrared" Modem driver. I cannot dailup a call or receive data call. I saw the 6610i was trying to call out but all the calls returned "Disconnected" and even my home phone cannot be rang.
All of the cases I have tried are (the mobile phone worked as modem):
6230i call to 6230 (result: connection success)
6230 call to 6230i (result: connection success)
6230 call to Voice Phone (result: normal ring)
6610i call to Voice Phone (result: no ring, disconnected)
6610i call to 6230 (result: no ring, disconnected)
6230 call to 6610i (result: no ring, disconnected)
I have tried to set the 6610i in different windows (xp and 2000) but still fail and i also tried to replace the sim. card in 6610i by the one in 6230 but still fail....so the one i could guess is my nokia 6610i modem driver has some problems but i'm using the one that i just download today 26/03/2004, 1.0.2.4.
Any help would be much appreciated.

PC suite is only for pc/laptop you can't install it on your handset. One can only know if his/her packet services are configured properly & been included in the contract by using it like gprs. wap etc. Some provider downloads the configuration automatically once the sim card is activated for others its manual. The only way to know it, is to call T-mobile & enquire about it. When you have installed the pcsuite, then the hand set & pc are connected, & then you try to connect to internet by clicking the icon, if your packet service are not properly configure it will give an error of "no packet service are available".
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!

Social Client & Nokia blogs not working

from last week social client & nokia blogs not working. Facebook / Twitter / Conversations / Blog etc... are not opening. Get a blank white screen with only option to exit. Surprisingly the social widget is getting updated with posts from both Facebook & Twitter! But if i click to open then its the same issue...

I'm having a similar issue. It appears to only impact Hotmail accounts. For me though, this happened without updating the OS. The email client is simply failing to connect to the Hotmail interface. Only two possibilities, either Microsoft changed something on the email gateway or Nokia changed something on their end. Either way, it's not working and has been out of commission for the past week. If this is how corporate friends get along, I'd hate to see what happens in a adversarial relationship.

Airport Express only works on one cable outlet in the house

I have successfully hooked up my AE to the cable modem in one room of my house, but am having trouble hooking it up in the living room. I can hook my powerbook up to the cable modem in living room, but I cannot get the wireless router to work, although the steady green light comes on. Could it be a problem with the cable signal? The reason I wonder about this is that I cannot get online if I hook the modem up after using a cable splicer to provide cable to the TV. It only works if I hook the modem up directly to the wall outlet. So, to summarize, AE works fine on one cable outlet in my office. At the living room TV cable outlet, I can go online by connecting the modem's ethernet cable to the computer, but only when the modem is plugged directly into the cable outlet, not after using a cable splicer. I cannot get AE to work at all from this cable outlet. Any suggestions?

With the splitter in place, I can't get the ethernet connection to work, even when plugged directly into the computer. But, what's weird is that I can connect with the ethernet directly into the cable outlet (no splitter), but can't get AE to work at this outlet. I'll keep trying.

I have an Iad2 and ever since ios6-there are issues.I get occasional lock-ups and have to reboot. The WSJ app freezes when running their videos to the end. The only work-around is to stop the video before it's over. Worse than windows me !!!!!

My Ipad2 worked perfectly before ios6 upgrade. It now freezes occasionally and I have to reboot to get it to work. Also the WSJ app will now freeze if I try and run one of their videos that is imbedded in the article. My only work-around is to stop (press done) before the end of the video or I have to do a total reboot. The problems remind me of Windows ME . Will Apple resolve these issues or become more like Microsoft. Hopefully there will be a restore button in the future like Microsoft was forced to do because a lot of upgrades are just terrible. Am I crazy or are there other people having the same issues with ios6, or could this just be a coincidence and my ipad2 is starting to fail just when ios6 arrives ?

I know this will not help but, the bluetooth headset I purchased for my wife works great and it pairs with our car and our sound bar in the livingroom (Motorola Droid Razr) 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US
However I did not upgrade over the air but from a android web site and placed it on my external sd card. I believe this made the difference in why we had no issues and upgraded functionality has been great.
Please note when I mention these bluetooth devices I mean the Razr connects with no problems.
It also had no internet issues and none of the problems others have complained about in other threads.
unfortunately when you say thousands have these issues I cannot say that is accurate. The hope is when large numbers of owners have updated to the Jelly Bean and are complaining inmase then Motorola will issue a patch to verizon to get out to the affected users.
Of course now that Google owns Motorola Mobility and has laid off loads of workers it may never issue an os patch.

Apple, as I said, does not repair your iPhone. All hardware service issues are handled by replacing the unit. So they can't handle the home-button issue without also addressing the issue of the cracked screen, for which they'll almost certainly charge you. But you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or call Apple tech support and plead your case.

When did you buy it?
Apple did not begin selling an unlocked version of the iPhone 4S in the US until 11/11/11. I believe it went on sale only through the online store at that time. I'm not sure if it's available at retail yet.
What you purchased was a phone without a contract commitment. It is still locked to AT&T. AT&T will NOT unlock iPhones for any reason. Return it and get your money back, then use that to purchase an unlocked phone.
