Nokia 6650 MMS problems

Hi I have just purchased a 6650 FOLD and I am wanting to use it my O2 postpay sim. I have changed the settings for internet usage and I can can get access. However I can not manage to set up the MMS to work.
I have tried settings from the internet but it only gives me the option of using the packet data as by data bearer. But I understand that MMS only works over GPRS ?
I have tried setting up a GPRS as a data bearer but to no avail.
I have tried getting the settings via O2 and they wont send them as its no supported by O2 (t-mobile only). Also tried the Nokia site to send the settings, but just get a message "trusted server setting received but not saved. Message could not be authenticated and was deleted." This was also the case for another site that sends settings for the 6650 fold.
Anyone any ideas to either the settings for mms for this phone or how to stop the message being deleted (O2 say this probably a setting in the phone)..

Thanks for the pointer, yes its surely something to do with the t-mobile firmware. Anyhow I did as you said and asked O2 to send me the settings for the 6220 classic, but no message ever came through. I eventually got them via email and they worked so THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

  • Fixing nokia 6233 MMS Problem

    I. I've just had a problem sending MMS with the Nokia 6233. When you tried to send a MMS the phone just turned white and them went to the first Menu. It seems that when you trie to send a MMS and you have delivery reports turned on (of the MMS) it blanks. Choose not to want delivery reports on the MMS and it will work. If you already changed it (and you can't send MMS) you have to reset the phone fisrt. Then do the changes you want but don't choose the reports active. If you've never changed the settings don't change it.

PS. Sorry for my english. Anything i can help just say it

If you contact your service provider they will ask you to SMS to a particular number for GPRS settings over the AIR. You receive the settings, save and you can access GPRS.

  • Nokia 6650 and CK15W Problems

I have a Nokia 6650 and had a Parrot car kit installed.
Everything is fine unless I tried to dial a number from the phonebook. The phone would just lock up and I would have to take the battery out and reinsert to get it working again.
I had the Parrott software updated and put the latest Nokia SW in the 6650 and had the same problem.
I have now changed the carkit for a Nokia CK15W and am having the same problem.
Can anyone please advise what to do?

sounds like a fault on your phone to me, if the problem occurs on a parrot kit and nokia kit then it must be the phone.

  • Stereo Headset (HS-47) not working on Nokia 6650 (...

The manual claims the 2.5mm connector on the phone is for a combatible stereo headset. The Nokia US website does not indicate any compatible headset. The manual does show a HS-47 headset as an accessory. I ordered a HS-47 with the result that only one (the right) speaker works. I returned the HS and received a replacement. Same problem. Is there a setting in the phone that enables the second channel? What did AT&T do to this Phone??? First they took the FM radio out, now you can't even listen to music (it is a music phone) on a stereo headset?

I haven't given up yet.   Here's what Nokia tech support said:
Although it is not listed on the web address I am sure that the Nokia Hs-49 wired headset will function properly with your Nokia 6650
Armed with that information, I looked up all compatible phones with the HS-49 headset, since my real goal is to find a working adapter for the Nokia 6650 Fold.
The HDA-11 2.5mm to 2.5mm TTY adapter apparently is compatible with the Nokia 6650 Fold.  Nokia Tech Support says when queried specifically about this adapter.
"I am pleased to advise you that our Nokia HDA-11 Adapter is compatible with your Nokia 6650 Fold."
My real goal, however, is to be able to use my Sennheiser headphones (3.5mm jack) with this phone.
Googling the HDA-11 has produced this thread on AT&T:
    http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=nokia&message.id=48856
Note that the HDA-11 doesn't do the 2.5mm to 3.5mm job directly, it just provides a 2.5mm jack that you can ostensibly plug a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter into.  Since I already have one of these (I bought it when I bought the phone naively thinking that it would allow me to use my headphones) , I've ordered the HDA-11 and will see if the thread listed above also applies to the 6650 Fold.
It's amazing to me that Nokia doesn't provide any way to adapt a standard 3.5mm headphone to this jack.
It's also incredible that they list virtually nothing compatible with the headphone jack on this phone on their website.
Equally frustrating is that Nokia seems to have no interest in fixing any of the above.
Stay tuned to this thread.  I'll let y'all know when I get the HDA-11 jack + the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter lets me use my headphones with this poor excuse for a music phone.

  • DIFFERENT type of mms problem (receivers can't view)

Hey all, I have a different mms problem after updating my 3GS to ios 4...
Seems I can send mms and videos just fine, however the end receiver just sees a still image and hears the audio. I've done a lot of tests with this, and my wife's 3GS does the same thing. But it only started happening when she updated to ios 4 ( on different AT&T plans and updated at different times) her 3GS is only a month old.
I've somewhat pinpointed this directly to ios 4, as any video I have shot with it will do this, but only if it is to someone without an iPhone, or with and iPhone but not running ios 4
It seems kind of sporadic as well. I think it has to do with the way each app handles mms out. If I'm in a text message and hit the camera icon and create a new video right there on the spot, Things seem to go fine. But if I've already taken a video and its in my camera roll. And I choose to send that, #1 it doesn't seem to warn me about length that much anymore, and will just try to send the vid as is. #2 it doesn't do any sort of preparation with the vid, just pops it into the message and allows me to send.
I've restored, restored to new device, redownloaded ios 4, reset my network settings, and done pretty much everything people have suggested for other mms problems. Nothing seems to help. And yes. Mms is turned on in my settings and subject field is turned off along with group mms and character count.
What it seems like to me, is that ios 4 doesn't have the same trim length or compression algorithms for mms as os 3.1.3 had. My friend who hasn't updated yet can send vids to my receiver just fine.   It seems like the default maximum mms video length might be too long on the 3GS, and I end up sending videos that are unplayable to anyone but ios 4 users.
Can anyone help, or has anyone else had this issue?  Should I be calling Apple or AT&T about this?

  • Nokia 6650 can not send and recieve via infrared/b...

hello to all members here in nokia and also faculty and staff in nokia.
I'm dennis bendicio from the philippines, I have my nokia 6650 and my brother gave this to me and this unit he brought this in dubhai and i want to download a file and also upload file to my pc but i can not do the thing. is there any idea why my phone can not reacieve a file via bluetooth or even using infrared also? thanks for helping me for this.. have a nice day..

    Hallo,Dennis,
the Nokia 6650 has no Infrared, but Bluetooth. You need to switch this feature on (off by default as it consumes some extra power) and then you can move files if you have a BT enabled PC. You need to pair first.
If you want to have it easier, try the Nokia data suite (free on Nokia web) via BT or USB cable, that supports the recognition and file transport as well.
    That should work.

  • Nokia 5800 screen problems when unlocking

When I unlock my phone, I get horizontal and/or vertical lines - I can't use the phone during this time, because the display is so badly affected!
After about 5-10 seconds, the home screen will show perfectly normal.  When I either lock the phone, or lock it manually, then unlock it a few minutes later the lines come back again!
Is this a hardware or software fault? If it is a software fault, how can I resolve this annoying problem?
    5800 v20.0.012 -- 6500s v9.40 -- 6233 v5.43 -- 5140 v3.13

I have exactly the same fault on my 5800 to the point where the phone is completely unusable.
Used the "Contact Us" facility 5 days ago - still waiting for a reply/acknowledgment.
I bought the phone in mid February so it was quite an early release model, V11 frimware, but the screen fault was there early on but only very occassionally. Had the phone updated to V20 but the problem was still there. However it got progressively worse until the phone became unusable. The screen can only be restored by powering off and on again but once the screen has gone into saver mode it cannot be restored via the unlock button, or any other means other than a power down.
Sent the phone to the Nokia "Anovo" repair centre only to have it returned 10days later with exactly the same fault as I sent it in with. The return advice note stated that details of the repair would be found on the enclosed letter - there was no enclosed letter. The return form states that all phones sent in would be automatically updated to the latest firmware - mine wasn't, even though Nokia notified me 2 weeks previously to inform me that there was an update for my phone.
Rang Nokia Care last week, (Thursday) to be told that someone would contact me by phone, (borrowed phone obviously, as I had stated my 5800 was unusable). Friday and I had not been contacted. Rang again Friday morning 10.30am only to be told someone would contact me. Left a contact phone number again. Friday afternoon - still no contact so rang again. This time I was informed that someone should have told me that I wouldn't be contacted until Monday as thet were all "Very Busy" - I wonder why. Today, Monday afternoon stil no one has been in contact so I suppose I am going to have to go through the whole routine again.
I am very close to the point where I am going to give up and demand a refund for an item that is clearly "Not of Merchantable Quality" or "Fit for Purpose" which would be a shame as when it worked I was really pleased with it. I bought the phone outright so I have no contract redress so am completely in the hands of Nokia. I know that Nokia is a very large company and I am but a single customer but from all the forums I have lookes at since this saga started I am driven to believe that the 5800 is causing Nokia some serious problems.
If I do finally get some acknowledge from Nokia I will inform this forum.

  • N8 Nokia recognized the problem Power Down-Power U...

    Hi all
Nokia assume that a "small" number of Nokia N8 can have a defect that causes the power down and power up problem.
    See the interview.
    http://conversations.nokia.com/2010/11/18/evp-niklas-savander-discusses-nokia-n8-quality/
At least a feedback from Nokia about this problem.
    Nokia N8 / N9 / Lumia 920 White

I just bought and pickup my new N8 from Batelco, as soon as arrived home, I unpacked and only to find out that its not charging and not even opening.
If they recognized the fault, they should at least informed the customer or the supplier itself or distributor about this fault so as not to have this worst experience of my life. A brand new and costly phone is not worth having this kind of problem.
Bad thing was, when I told them about the problem, they send me right away to customer service instead of replacing it with new one.
Guys from Nokia, you should do better than this, its not healthy for your company to have such lousy and problematic phone.

  • Major SMS + MMS Problems (Black iPhone 4S 64GB iOS5)

Im having huge problems with SMS and MMS on my iPhone 4S. SMS messages take 3-6 re-attempts before sending, and MMS messages wont send at all. Tried changing the max message size setting, to fix mms issue, with no joy. Im finding this extremely frustrating after shelling out for the 64GB phone and its not carrying out its basic functions at the moment. There is no issue with the carrier, it seems to be something else. Does anyone have any tips on how I can solve this? Or is anyone suffering similar issues?
    Any advice appreciated.

I'm glad (you know what I mean...) I'm not the only person with 4S MMS problems. It's driving me crazy. I swapped from a 3GS (with which I had no MMS problems at all) to the 4S, and have nothing but problems with MMS since I bought it on launch day.
Each time I phone my carrier or visit their shop they give me different advice - they've told me to put at least 3 different figures in the 'max message size' box so far.
Today I thought I was making some progress. I visited the store I bought it from, and a guy there changed the max message size figure and did a soft reboot and, guess what, MMS worked no problem... while I was in the shop, that is. FIve minutes later, when I was outside, the first photo I tried to send failed and there was my familiar friend the white exclamation mark looking up at me.
So then I called my carrier, and the call-taker gave me completely different advice to the guy in the shop (including a different 'max message size' figure to input), before I did my nth reboot. Success! While he was still on the phone, I managed to send two MMS, and got messages back from the recipients.
So I hung up, a happy 4S owner once again.
Only now I'm not quite so happy. Because the exclamation mark's back again, and MMS won't send. And people are sending me MMS, but I'm not getting them.
I just hope one of the myriad people I've spoken to at my carrier was right when she said 'Apple are aware of this issue and we're waiting for a fix'.
In the meantime, I'm thinking of investing in a carrier pigeon...

  • Nokia 6650 Fold Bluetooth Pairing with Motorola S8...

My 6650 pairs with the headphones but then gets disconnected almost immediately.  This is presumeably b/c I have not entered the passkey (0000) for the headset but so far I have not been able to figure out how to enter the passkey.    Does anyone know how to do that?

FWIW (correction): The phone finally asked me (semmingly randomly) for the headphone passcode/key but the connection still got dropped afte I input it.  I emailed Nokia support and got this reply:
"Thank you for e-mailing the Nokia Care Contact Center.
I apologize for the delay in responding to your e-mail message and greatly appreciate your patience.
I am very sorry to hear that your Motorola headset is not connecting with our Nokia 6650 Fold.
[U]nfortunately there is no way to manually input a pass code unless it is requested. Additionally, we do not support 3rd party products as Nokia manufacturer's its own line of Bluetooth headsets. I recommend contacting Motorola for further assistance.

  • Nokia 6650

I just recently purchased a Nokia 6650 and I love it.  I was wondering if this model has the smiley face graphics that you can add to a text message.  I have not been able to find them.  Thanks!

    It doesn't have them.
You can install a 3rd party program that will add them.
Visit this site, install the demo and see what you think:

The 6650 isn't listed as compatible but it should work.

  • Nokia E65 - MMS/Internet Problems

    Hey all.
Just having a few problems with my Nokia, recently I have gone with Vodafone from Optus, and having a few troubles sending MMS's and getting on the net. I checked the sticky and searched on google, tried to download the settings etc, but when I go into settings wizard it says "No Operator Data Available" so I cannot go further, not sure what to do.
If it helps as well, when I try send an MMS it says "Unable to send message" - Details - "Packet data: Invalid packet data access point"
Tried to go on access points but have no clue what I am doing so don't wanna mess anything up...any clues what I can do?
    Thanks in advance
    BlocParty.

    Hi Bloc
Most service providers send you the MMS/GPRS/3g access point settings on activation.
So i'd recommend you call up yr Vodafone care and check if the service is active.. and ask them how to get the settings sent to you by sms. (once active.. they gen send it to you everytime u put yr sim in a new handset)
Since these are country-service provider specific i cant help you out unless yr from an ISP i am familiar with.
