Nokia 6670 - Missing contact lists

I had been using Nokia 6670 since past 3 years without any issue. Yesterday, when I started recieving calls from friends without their names being displayed, I realised that all contacts are missing from the phone. After re-boot, names are now displayed while recieving calls, but am unable to view any contacts and while in the contacts view only EXIT option is dispalyed and I cant even select that option to exit the app.
Can some one help me in understanding what is going on and how to go about rectifiying the issue ?

Hello derbow and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
The default contact list was replaced by the Gmail account when the contact sync was enabled with the BlackBerry Internet Service. Your contact list is still present, however, it now will read as the Gmail address and not as "Default".
If you want to remove the Gmail address under the Contact Options, you will need to do a security wipe of your device which will remove all data. KB14058 "How to delete all data and applications from the BlackBerry smartphone using the Wipe Handheld option" will walk you through this process.
To do a restore of backed up data consult KB10339.
To restore the contacts back to your device, it is recommended to do the wired synchronization with the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and not restore using the back up file.
As for the Default Services only listing Calendar and Messaging, this is the normal default on the BlackBerry. The Contacts options became present when the Gmail sync was enabled and disappeared when you removed the contacts sync option.

Nokia 5610 express contact list

Hello,
I own a Nokia 5800,
After updating firware from v11 to v20,
i started facing a weird problem.
from the home screen when i press the contacts button, the contact list comes up as expected,
but after about half a sec, all the contacts gets doubled( i.e. 2 copies of each contacts exist).
It doesnt happen everytime, but once it happens the only solution i found was to delete all the contacts, and copy them back from the memory card which i had backed up.
and in the options->settings, i have set it to display contacts only from "phone memory",
and not from "sim memory" and "service nums".. so problem is not with displaying contacts from 2 sources.
Also i have abt 420 contacts, so the sim cant hold these many( limits to 127 contacts).. so its not coming from my sim.
my 420 contacts is becoming 840 contacts.
Additional info:
If i delete one copy of the contact, both the copies gets deleted.
and also when a contacts makes a call to my phone, her name appears..( This doesnt happen if the same number exists more than once in the list)
Any1 has any solution to this problem or any idea as to why its happening??

Hi,
21.0.025 firmware is available only in specific countries.( My country is INDIA)
i used tat wireless update feature to updgrade from 20.0.012 to 21.0.025.
(press *#0000# , u'll get some screen with s/w info, then goto options > then select check for updates.)
U'll need wifi / gprs for tat.
or u can give ur fone to nokia care and ask them to update it to the latest firmware availbale.

Nokia c6 recover contact list ?

Hey guys, recently i accidentally broke my nokia c6. My power button does not work and the screen stopped working as well. I was wondering can I still recover my contact list?
Also i was wondering where is my messages and contacts actually stored at and is there a way to take it out of my nokia phone? My sd card did not have it. Thanks in advance

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.
Sorry to hear about your phone, Just to confirm does your device not power?
If you phone does power on but the screen is broken then you can recover you contacts and message by plugging your device into your personal computer and using Nokia suite to backup your device. If you phone doesn't power up have you previously made a back up?
If not then maybe your contacts might be saved onto your Sim card. You can check this by putting your Sim into another device and seeing if you contacts are on there.
If your phone doesn't power up at all then there isn't a way to recover your messages and if you haven't previously backed up your device and your contacts are not on your Sim then these maybe lost as well. Your best bet is to go to a Nokia care point and see if they can fix your device without the need to re-flash it. For your nearest care point please refer to the following link:

Nokia N95 missing contacts??

Hi,
I've successfully synced my N95 with my contact and iCal thanks to the helps from this discussion board. But now I have one more question: After syncing the phone, I can't seem to be able to find some contacts on my phone.
For example, I have 1100 contacts on computer, and I checked the "contact info" on my N95, it has exactly 1100 contacts as well. So I know that I did not miss any contacts after syncing. But no matter what I do, I just can't find some contacts on my phone.
eg. I have a "John Doe" on my computer, but after searching through my phone book, there is no John Doe. But the strange thing is, if I dial this John Doe's number, the name John Doe appears.
Anyone know how I can fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same issue in synching my Outlook phone numbers with my iPhone. My wife's contact info is somewhere in my iPhone, but where? I called her number by manually pressing each digit on the phone keypad and after that call I was able to add her to the Favorites list (from the Recents list), but I still can't find her contact info by scrolling through the main contacts list. I tried searching by last name, first name, even by prefix. All of her contact data (from Outlook) shows up in the favorites and recents list. I have 8,000 names so maybe this issue is related to the fact that we both have a lot of contacts. I wonder if they tested it with that much data.

Nokia e75 missing contacts

Hi, recently all of the contacts in my e75 went missing. I tried to connect it to PC suite and the program could not read any contacts from the phone either. However, whenever anybody calls or texts me, their names are still displayed by the phone, eventhough the contacts list is not showing anything.
Anybody have experienced anything like this before? Does anyone have any program that can read contacts out of phones that is suffering the above cases? thanks in advance..

I have downloaded and installed the Nokia Messaging app 1.1 and have not been able to syc the contact list in Hotmail with the E71. Is this a feature of the Nokia Messaging app? Windows Live brings the contact list to the
phone so I assumed this was a feature of NM 1.1

Unfortunately, Nokia Messaging doesn't support the synchronization of non-email folders for any ISPs, including Windows Live Hotmail. Nokia Messaging only supports the synchronization of email folders.

Nokia 5800 about CONTACTS List

i wanna ask why nokia 5800 doesnt show the contact number of a name in CONTACTS.... i should double tap the name so i can see the Mobile Number.... is there any updates in version so i can see the number...

This is because your phone has the ability to store multiple numbers and details for every contact. It will display all the details when you select the contact.

View middle name in contact list, nokia asha 302

Hello everyone.
I have a problem. I have a big contact list and there are contacts with middle names. But I can't understand how can I see contact's middle name in my Nokia Asha 302 contact list.

Does anybody know, is it possible to view middle names in contact list? I don't want to edit all middle names by concatinating first and middle name.

On certain devices (especially S40 such as the Nokia Asha 302) the 'Middle Name' Field may not be possible. It may not be available under 'Add Details' too ...

How to get contact list from a damaged nokia 6303

My mobile phone get some physical damage - the display was broken. Now he dont get on at all. I managed to get him connected to my computer.
After several repluggs of the data cable the computer finally found him. Now i have a connection to it, so it worked to copy files via total commander. Now i got (from the importatnt stuff, not counting music and photos i had stored on the phone) some files (a file without and format with the name "qf" and a "rm443_conpack_conf.cnfp" ) and a folder (cities) with files in format .cdt and .cfg
i would like to save my contact list. Dont you everyone now, if any of this files is the contact list? and if yes, how do i get to open it?
tried nokia PC suite, but however it can find the phone, it still writes "connnected in a non-compatible mode" and nothing is displayed...

you could try a few ways, not sure which will give best success:
Copy the contacts from 6233 to the SIM and then move the SIM to the new phone (assumes both phones are from same network operator or one of them is unlocked), then copy contacts back from SIM to N79
Install latest PC suite, backup 6233 to PC and then restore just the contacts data to the N79
Run the Switch application in the N79, it might be able to pull some content off your 6233
Send the contact as "business card" via bluetooth to the N79 (not sure if there is a 'select all' option in the 6233 contacts application.

Oscar, keep in mind that my suggestion could not be the best one.
I have a copy of Nokia suite on my Windows XP partition on my Mac, just to test it.
The second icon on the upper row explains as a syncronisation with Outlook.
Try to do it and later you should use the iClod manager from Apple and Sync Outlook to ìiClod and to any iPhone iPod and so on.

Nokia 6280 failure restoring contact list using pc...

I own a Nokia 6280. Firmware - v3.81
OS: Win XP.
I took the phone to my local phone provider(partner orange, from which I bought the device) to update the phones version. This action has deleted my entire contact list.
Beforehand I made a backup using the pc suite back up feature, and the backup went smoothly. Now, when I try to restore my info using the restore function in the backup(content copier),it restores everything except the contact list. Somewhat in the middle of the resotration of the contact list, an error jumps saying the connection to the phone has been list. A few seconds later the connection restores automatically.
I tried solving the problem using this thread:

But it didnt quite work
What can I do to solve this problem? How can I restore my contacts?
And if not, Is there a way to convert the Backup NBU file into Outlook VCF format?

except notepad can't disipher the the names into english, and so cant hexedit's of their sort.

I tried to recover the phone as soon as I recieved it from the phone provider with the new v3.81. That is , the manufacturer's settings were the default. Unfortunantly that didn't work.

Duplicate contact list - Nokia 1662 - how do I cha...

I just got a new Nokia 1662 - I copied all my contacts from my sim card to the phone but now all contacts appear twice on the contact list (once from the sim, once from the phone memory). Is there any way to change this so that only the numbers stored on my phone appear in my contact list? I checked the options tab but there does not seem to be an option that would allow me to make this choice. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is no reason to keep them on the SIM if you transferred them to the phone.

Nokia N8 - Contact List disappear ?

I have a Nokia N8 , recently i am facing one problem, my all the contact no. are disappear from the contact list , I don't know how was this happened? Before 10 days same problem i was face but after 2 -3 days all the contact list are appeared. so please tell me the solution for this. I can't wait for the 2-3 days. Every now and then my Nokia N8 contact list freezes when I try to select a contact fom the list, when starting a call or by accessing the contact list directly. A reboot, factory reset nor firmware reinstalling doesn't solve the problem, it only works temporarily. When the list freezes I am able to swipe through it up and down, though selecting contacts is not possible. I do see a cursor blinking in the lower half of the screen, at the position where the search window normally is. The search window itself is vanished.
Does anyone happen to know how i can really fix the problem permanent?
I used to experience the same problem on the N8, though the freeze isn't only limited to accessing the contact list but happens randomly when swiping through home screens, opening a folder etc. I managed to resolve this problem though I have forgotten what exactly it is. If I'm not mistaken it is due to an installed (bad) application that is causing the freeze. In my case it's the Whatsapp application. The freezing problem seemed to have disappeared after I removed the application from the phone and reintall it back again.

Nokia C7 contact list

Will Nokia add the possibility to automatically download the contact list (phonebook) from my C7 to the Bluetooth system of my Jaguar-XF in their next software update ? I have no problems at all with my older Nokia-6021.

I checked Jaguar site and Nokia site.
C7 is listed as supporting phone book access profile, but on Jaguar site it does say that contacts can only be pushed from the phone to the carkit, same info also given for N8.
Other Nokia devices seem OK so bit difficult to work out if it is a Jaguar problem or a Nokia problem. Only way would be to put a call into Nokia and ask them to get back to you with support about your device.
Are you able to do a "Mark All" in contacts and send them all to the car kit via bluetooth?
