Nokia 6680 doesn't boot - at all

Hi,
i've got a problem with my Nokia 6680.
A week ago it started to ignore some number keys becoming unusable. I coldn't backup the data (due to lack of time), so I decided to use use another phone. I left my 6680 open with the battery.
Now, it doesn't start up. The display lights up with the Nokia logo only when i plug the phone to the charger. I changed the battery, pushed the 3*power etc combination, but nothing happen.
Any advice?

It doesn't sound good and you seem to have tried everything already. Next step is to send it to a Nokia Care Point or get a new phone.

  • Nokia N9 doesn't boot

    Hi,
    after just a few days of purchasing my N9 it got stuck to a boot loop which was solved by letting the battery drain and recharging it, worked like a charm after that for a few days
    Now, after a couple of weeks, the device is compeletly dead,even the charging LED doesn't work while plugged in.
    I've tried the solutions on this thread but nothing works.

    Hi valmerity,
    Sorry about the circumstances of your first post but a welcome the discussion forums.
    So just clarify you have tried charging the device and also tried holding the power button down for 8 seconds?
    Have you tried charging the device via the PC? If you install the Nokia link application on your P.C, connect your device and start the program and leave this for a few minutes. The program may get the device back on. You can download Nokia link from the below hyperlink:
    http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-link
    Or using the Nokia Software updater program try reinstalling the software. You can find this program on the below link:

    Also have a look at the following thread also:

    A few people have had similar issues and have manage to resolve it.
    Alternatively you may need to visit one of our Nokia care points if none of the above helps. If you click on the below link you can find your nearest care point:

    Let me know how goes! Hopefully one of the above methods will help breath life into your phone once again!

  • Satellite P845t-107 - Linux kernel doesn't boot at all

    Hi!
    I recently bought my first Toshiba notebook -> Satellite P845t-107.
    Sadly I have a very big problem with it: None of my emergency tools is working.
    So I won't have any chance to rescue data from the HD when Windows is broken and I can't search for viruses from a clean system.
    All these tools are Linux-based.
    In all the years I'm already using such tools I never had such problems with all of the dozens of computers where I had to use that.
    I already tried to get help in Linux forums.
    They had several ideas but none of them worked. GRUB boots (because UEFI-compatible and secure boot is off).
    But after I select the kernel settings to boot with, it gets stuck in a very early stage without any error message.
    Obviously Toshiba makes something very very different than other computer manufacturers.
    So please tell me how I can make my emergency tools make working again.
    Thank you!
    notting

    The fact you're even getting to GRUB implies you've already unset UEFI boot but I don't make assumptions about the millions of possible LINUX boot and kernel combinations such as the one you didn't spend time describing
    UBCD, Hirren and other popular booters are choking more often on the AdvancedFormat drives, most have been updated but their free open source origins results in cross conflicted and frequently unqualified "solutions" and reposts of "fixes" untested by the whatever member on someother followatyourownrisk.com server.
    Whether I'm using some purposed repair disc, a LIVE booter of the latest Mint or booting an obsolete 10.x Ubu LINUX from a USB drive, I'm always accessing the AF drive after choosing CSM / "compatibility" in the CMOS UEFI and occasionally fiddling the SATA controller AHCI choices
    Your observation about Toshiba uniqueness is pertinent about gaining CMOS access at boot since some models ( I still can't find an authoritative list ) ship with locked BIOS at boot until the Widows TVAP utility is first launched even if it doesn't change anything.
    I've personally experienced as much by clamping a death grip onto an unboxed Satellite F12 and F2 before inserting the battery and power cord and every time access to the BIOS isn't granted until Windows is booted and TVAP launches.
    Their are minor references to this requirement in the support pages fine print quickly followed with protective legal warnings that sully the overall message.

  • Lenovo Yoga 11 failed during the factory re-install of windows...now doesn't boot at all

    Hi guys,  thanks for providing this forum !!
    Whilst preparing my Yoga 11 for a clean and for sale, I decided that it was a good idea to clean the PC by doing a complete 'factory settings' re-install of the Windows 8 RT software.   I started this process just before bed, and the message that said this would take several hours, so I figured it would be finished by morning.
    I was met this morning with the PC in a crashed state.  It was non-respondant and just sat on the Lenovo boot screen, with no activity to the progress.
    I pressed the on off button for 10 seconds and hard booted the machine.   This now attempts to boot, although has obviously crashed part way during the windows re-install process.   The message I get on screen now states
    'The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.  WIndows installation cannot proceed.  To install windows click 'OK' to restart the computer, and then restart the installation'
    I can no longer boot to windows, and I just receive the message above.
    I do not have an install disc...I assume the files are on a recovery partition.   Is there a boot / recovery / safe mode menu for the Yoga, that will allow me to recover this Yoga to it's factory state ??
    Kind Regards
    smiley.

  • My 2012 MacBook Pro fell and it now makes a clicking noise and shows a grey screen on startup. I'm afraid the hard drive is damaged. Is their anyway to still back up my hard drive even if it doesn't turn on all the way?

    So my late 2012 MacBook Pro was sitting on my desk when the desk collapsed. The computer fell with it and I was quite scared at the moment, but thankfully I opened it up and it worked perfectly fine again.
    I was later watching a YouTube video and pressed the back button. The screen then froze, and I could not force quit safari. Then this weird clicking noise started to happen. It was coming from the right of the trackpad. That's when I decided to force shutdown the computer with the power button.
    I let it sit and then decided to turn it back on. The clicking noise then came back and there was just a blank screen on the boot up. Eventually a grey folder with a question mark started flashing on the screen. That was all it did so I decided to turn it off again.
    I'm going to take it into the Apple store ASAP, but I'm curious if my hard drive is damaged and if I will need a new one, which would erase everything on my Mac. So I was wondering if there is anyway to back up the hard driver even if it doesn't boot up all the way, or turn on the computer all the way.
    P.S. I have never backed up my hard drive so I wouldn't know what to do.

    You may have damaged the HDD which is located in that spot. I would take it in for service.

  • Mac mini doesn't boot

    Hi,
    My 2009 Mac mini doesn't boot anymore : all I get is a blank screen, I can't even chose to boot on the restoration drive.
    From your experience, what do you think it could be linked with ? motherboard ? RAM ? It doesn't looke like a hard drive issue.
    Thanks
    Benoît

    Hello! I'm having, what sounds like, the same issue.  Everything was working fine, until I ran a combined update, as prompted, for 10.8.2.  After the normal reboot, the computer boots to a plain, white screen with no Apple.  The computer is not responding to any keyboard command at startup, be it any of the reset commands, 'C' to boot to the optical drive, or option to select the startup destination.  When pressing the Caps/Num lock keys, I notice that none of the LED lights will turn on on the keyboard.  The piggybacked optical mouse is not showing it's red light from the bottom either.  These tested fine on my MacBook Pro, however, and have always worked with the Mac Mini.  Connecting and reconnecting the devices does not help.  I know how to run all of the hard disk repairs, the permission fixes, etc., but it appears as though something is stopping my USB devices from being utilized (or even powered) at startup.  I work in IT, and I support Apple computers every day (point being, I do know my stuff).
    I opened the case and disconnected the hard drive from the logic board, thinking a potential hard disk issue is to blame.  Upon restart, I still get the BONG (chime), but the machine will still not respond to any keyboard commands.  Plugging in a USB stick that was created as a Mountain Lion boot device in Disk Utility with the InstallESD.dmg doesn't yield any results (as I am unable to 'tell' the computer to boot from it).  The system disc that was packaged with the Mini is in the optical drive, but the Mini won't boot to that either.  I'm at a complete loss.  This is a 2010 model which was purchased new in December in that year.  I'm using HDMI directly to an HDTV.  The cable is working, the TV is working, the optical drive works in another machine, and the hard disc makes the necessary sounds (but not anything out of the ordinary).
    To reiterate, this happened IMMEDIATELY after installing the combined 10.8.2 update.  I am seeing a lot of posts about this issue, but no actual solutions.  The dialogue seems to die somewhere after, "Reset the PRAM."
    PLEASE ADVISE

    Third,
    well this problem is i think connected to second problem..
    whenever my laptop crashes (as explained in second problem), and i reboot it. sometimes it doesn't boot..
    all leds turns on, fan starts and laptop turns off !!
    and when i try to boot the laptop after some time (say 15-25 mins), it boots without any problem..
    please give me solution of my problems..
    first i thought, the second problem is occuring due to overheating..
    but i have cleaned the cooling fan and removed the dust from it..
    normally temperature remains between 50-55 degre celcius..!!
    is that normal?
    is it the problem with lid ?

  • Kernel26 package now doesn't boot [FIXED!]

    I grabbed the latest kernel pkg. didn't do lilo -v
    and now it doesn't boot at all! [stop at the beggining of ..........]
    well shouldnt at least boot the last one? [or automatically do lilo -v]
    plz help me now
    thanks

    after a lot of testing and luck I was able to boot arch again [update lilo that is]
    what did I do: [i did all that because lilo refuses either to write the map file, or protests about /dev/hda or /dev/discs/disc0/disc {depending if it was Slack or Arch}]
    I booted with SlackWare 9.1 Rescue/Install CD {which has vfat}
    and which plays without devfs [so /dev/hdb8 was my root arch]
    I mounted  my arch root
    mount -t reiserfs /dev/hdb8 /tmp
    I change the /tmp/etc/lilo.conf to:
    boot=/dev/hda
    vga=792
    default=windows
    timeout=300
    lba32
    prompt
    image=/tmp/boot/vmlinuz26 # important change
    label=arch
    root=/dev/hdb8
    read-only
    other=/dev/hda1
    label=windows
    /boot [the slackware's cd's one] links to /mnt/boot so I did
    mkdir /mnt/boot
    and then tried to play with lilo a bit
    . /tmp/sbin/lilo -C /tmp/etc/lilo.conf -m /tmp/boot/map -M /dev/hda mbr -v
    with the above command I have a boot.0300
    in /mnt/boot directory
    so in the end I just did
    cp /mnt/boot/boot.0300 /tmp/boot/
    which overwrote the BAD AND UGLY AND OLD [and at last] boot.0300 with the new one [that containted info about the new kernel]
    I prayed to Buddha a bit, and then reboot. I there chose arch and OMFG! i was able to boot it
    a) I love LILO
    b) I love Slackware
    c) I love Arch [though I sumbitted some bug reports about the Rescue CD]
    mostly I love the fact that I lost some hours do make it work, but now it works as before. On the other hand, I always remember myself trying for days to fix the windows, and then give up [or if i could hack it in a way that would work, then it would be giving me Blue Screens [now dark blue in win2k/xp] of DEATH]
    so I must say I love the Penguin
    yeahhhhhhhhh
    thanks to everyone that helped.
    I hope the pkger of kernel would soon add the WARNING [sumbitted bug for that too] and if anyone forgets it or wants to play [like me] then I hope for him that he reads this post, and make it work [i could work with Arch's Live CD too, not sure]
    that's all baby.
    another success story yeahhhhhhhhh!! :$

  • Strange problems with pc suite with nokia 6680

    i'd had installed pc suite v6.7 on windows xp sp2 with all new adds from microsoft update(from a total succesuful uninstall with post addition of running nokia suite cleaner 3.1).
    installation was perfect OK. I am using DKU2 cable
    the suite recognize and install the correct drivers and the status was that "nokia 6680 was connected via USB"
    all it seems ok and also nokia pc suite sais that the phone is connected but if you try to launch any application or to browse the phone with phone browser it goes to error (impossible to complete operation")
    in my opinion there is something left or bad installed on the phone on previous attempt (probably the PC suite support application) because i was no asked of any confirm on the phone in the connection phase. In the c:/system dir on the phone infact there is a suiteconf.xml file related i think to that app.
    IF it is the problem cause Please indicate how to clean the phone or how to install (even manually the correct app). ù
    thanks

    Do you mean that you cannot open any applicaiton in PC Suite ? (Backup, Sync, Application installer, Connect to Internet and all those ?) None of them won't even open up ? If that is the case, the installation has not succeeded and it does not relate to the SIS package that was installed during previous installations of PC Suite. Please indicate can you get any of the Nokia PC Suite applications to work (excluding the applications that are built in to Windows Explorer) then it is easier to try to figure out what is wrong.

  • Macbook pro doesn't boot after iOS upgrade

    Hi all,
    I've upgraded my macbook pro (was requested automatically the upgrade) and after reboot to finish the installation, my macbook doesn't boot up.
    Is there any way to boot it up? A kind of boot in safe mode?
    I'm trying to power it up but nothing. It doesn't boot at all.
    Please, can you help me with this.
    Thanks
    Álvaro

    iOS is for iPhone, iPad not for Mac. So what upgrade are you referring to?

  • My macbook pro model A1226 doesn't boot up and the screen is black, ived try all reset commands with no luck, or try to go in safe mode, and nothing, please help

    Help please, my macbook pro model A 1226 doesn't boot up, i hear the optical drive sound starting but no screen light or booting sound, ive'd tried all redet commands, and safe mode but no luck, can anyone give me an solution to my problem. Tnx

    It looks as if there's a problem with your GPU. With a Retina machine, that would mean replacement of just about everything, except, perhaps, the flash storage drive.
    Print you kernel panic when you go to your Apple Store appointment. I'm betting that it's a faulty GPU but they will be able to diagnose exactly where the problem lies.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • SSD in MBP 13" Retina Late 2013 doesn't work - Can't boot at all

    I have a new MacBook Pro 13" Retina which works flawlessly. It has a factory installed 512 GB SSD, which also works flawlessly. Then I bought basically the same type of 512 GB SSD, 2nd hand but new, which I intended to install in another MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013.
    The seller told me it is compatible with the MBP Retina Late 2013, but when installed, the known to be good MBPR doesn't boot. Not from that SSD, not from an attached USD HDD which has two perfectly bootable Mavericks partitions. When pressing the alt-Key on booting, I can however see two partitions on that SSD (Mac OS X 10.8.4 and a Recovery Partition), yet it is not booting at all, thus also doesn't allow me to inspect or treat this SSD with Disk Utility or other tools.
    All I get is the grey screen with the striked through circle sign (see attached image). I've tried both, PRAM reset and SMC reset, no change.
    Here comes the interesting part: Although both SSD look identical, they have slightly different model and part numbers (see attached image).
    Working, factory installed SSD: Model MZ-JPUS512T/0A6. Part No. 665-1805D
    Non-booting, 2nd hand SSD: Model MZ-JPUS512T/0A2. Part No. 665-1805A
    Any ideas what’s going on here and how to solve this?

    Excellent point! Mac OS X 10.9.1 doesn’t equal Mac OS X 10.9.1!
    Back in the bad old days of Mac OS X Install DVDs, I was aware of the fact that there were different versions of the OS X Installer testing against the Mac ID to make sure that bundled versions get only installed on those Macs which the DVD came with. And the DVD where clearly labeled in that sense.
    Now in the days of Internet download and installation from USB sticks, SSD and HDD, one completely forgets about this. On the other hand, with Mavericks being free, I don’t understand the need for such limitations, and not at least the recovery partition allows booting any Mac which supports Mavericks.
    When you boot with the alt-Key pressed and you see at least one partition with Mac OS X 10.9.1, one just doesn’t understand why the heck the Mac doesn’t boot. Now I do. Apple would be well advised to simply add a short info line, like „This version of Mac OS X is missing components to boot this Mac. Please re-install from the AppStore using this computer“. It would take out A LOT of guesswork.
    Anyhow… I booted the MBPR using the working SSD, installed Mavericks from the AppStore on the external USB HDD, switched the SSDs, booted from the external USD HDD’s now bootable 10.9.1 Recovery Partition, wiped the suspicious non-booting SSD and installed Mavericks. No further problems. (Completely forgot about the CMD-OPT-R Internet Recover Mode keg55 has mentioned…)
    Thanks for the hint!
