Nokia 6680 Packet Data Ratio

They Can anyone help me with my packet Data Ratio
I Would like to lower it so I can game online.
It connects at 460Kb/s
........ pretty fast but can't game with it
It shows a Latency of 600 on a South African Server
My home 56k Modem conneted with a land line and is has a better Latency 155.
Someone please help me to lower the ratio as I get Lag Spikes
And I know any gamer can't Play with lag spikes.
So I wuold like to reduce my packet ratio so i can play
I know a Nokia 6280 connects at the same speed and on the same network (vodacom) and has a better latency of 199
but my landline still beats it.
Please Help
Thanks

  • Nokia N96 packet data password

Hi does anyone know what password is put into the N96 for the packet data for internet use?  Orange can not set my internet settings until the password is removed or I know what it is?????

Nokia does not put any passwords on packet data connections.
If a password is required for a data connection then only your network can help you with that.

  • NOKIA 5230 PACKET DATA PROBLEM

Hi I am Alph, may I please have assistance in a no connection massage from packet data. Coz time after time it says select connection. Please help!!!

First of all, do you have an active data plan from your Operator ? If so, call and request them to send the settings for Access Points. These are normally sent thru' SMS.. Once received, open the message and select 'SAVE'.. Now you should not have any problem accessing..
If you do not have an active data plan..then you will have to get one..

hi,try going into connectivity settings, open destinations, open internet and delete ALL access points. Turn off phone. Now restart, go back into connectivity settings and in internet- options-new access point, select automatically check for available access points, select packet data, name it whatever you like, and use that. Hopefully this should resolve your problem.

  • Packet data for Nokia C3-00

I have the suite and a network adaptor automatically created. Both of that can't access, the c3-00 respond "Subscribe to Packet data first".. But I already have the gprs settings from my network provider.. What should I do?. Please help me.

Can you browse with your phone? If yes, your problem is alrealdy solved. Nokia PC Suite (any version) wont work with S40 phones like C3. You have to download Nokia Ovi Suite for PC. You can google it and download it free. It's about 87.something MB. It works perfectly.

TO ANYONE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION!!!!!
I have had this phone for a week and the WLAN has been very problematic!
To stop the phone from connecting to the GPRS instead of using the WLAN you must...
    - Change all the settings to 'ASK FIRST', this includes the internet connection under connectivity and within the saved WLANS, each must have ask first selected.
    - You must edit the packet data settings (under connectivity), it must say 'when needed' and then you must change the access point to a different point, e.g. Access point , then edit this access point, the alias can be anything (it is just a name), but the access point must be changed to the WLAN access point you are trying to connect to.
To find this access point code you must go to ...
Menu - settings - connectivity - WLAN - available wlans - then click edit on the WLAN you want to use. Look under 'Access point MAC', this should be a long list of numbers and letters separated by colons e.g. 1A:2B:3C:4D:5E:6E.
This works at home because you can save the WLAN and use the preferred access point, to make this work for 'hot spots' you will probably have to write down the access point code from the WLAN you want to use and create a new access point and change access points when you are using a different connection.
This works by saving specific access points to available WLAN locations.

  • Nokia C3-01 & subscribe to packet data first.

    Hello !
I have a nokia c3-01, I am not able to connect to the internet using WLAN, it says subscribe to packet data first.
can anyone help me on this.
    Thanks.

Go to menu-settings-configuration settings-personal settings- my web. Do not enter any data in any field & press back. Do again with my access point. Now select these two as active settings & access point. Now go to connectivity-wlan. Search & save your wlan. Set the connection to do not ask. You will be able to connect using wlan only.

  • Packet data settings in nokia asha 303

please tell me how to turn off packet data in nokia asha 303?i have to delete the gprs settings as soon as my net pack gets ovr. if i dont delete them then my balance is deducted aftr evry few minutes. i keep on receiving texts on whatsapp..is there any provision to switch it off when i dont want to use it????

    Hi ady_303,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum.
Turning the packet data completely off is not possible unless you're going to remove the packet data settings completely off the phone. However, in order for you to avoid unecessary charges, try to remove the whatsapp or any live widget (e.g social apps such as facebook or twitter, or even weather application) from the homescreen of your device. Since these are applications that require internet connection, if set on the homescreen, it'll continuously get live feeds and updates which means, it'll be using your data.

  • Nokia X2-03 - packet data help!

I have recently bought the Nokia X2-03 and cannot connect to the internet.
Every time I try to connect to the internet it keeps coming up with "subscribe to packet data first" so can anyone help me fix this problem? Please!

High most likely you don't have the needed settings. It might also be that using the network to browse internet isn't activated either. Depends on operator and what subscription you have.
In any case you will have to contact your service provider/operator to get the settings or activate internet through in your subscription if thats possible.
Call them or visit their website as usually most service providers offers settings to be ordered on their website. U will most likely get them as a text message.

  • Packet Data settings Nokia N8

    Hi,
I have bought Nokia N8 from Vodafone and I use their network as well. I am on contract with them without free internet, therefore any use of internet I will be charged.
I tried to change Packet data sittings to prevent my phone of accessing the internet through  internet and WAP access point but I could not because the sittings are protected from modifying or deleting.
Is there any way or program to remove or change these settings? Please help me how I can do that.
    Thanks

Set phone to offline, go to connectivity settings and delete all access points, when the phone asks for a connection reject everything except your wifi connection.I would really be adviseable to get a data allowance as you are missing the vast majority of the functions of the N8 by not using internet connection, it's a very expensive digital camera that can make calls and txt at the moment ! Where do you come from ? In UK VF have cheap 'bolt ons' for PAYG data, and it would really improve your whole expeience !!

  • Nokia 6085's packet data

i just bought a nokia 6085 and when i try to connect to mxit,it says i must subscribe to packet data first.how do i subscribe to packet data?

You have to ask your provider if all the data services for phone is bundled in your contract & have them downloaded the configuration for packet services(e.g. GPRS etc) to your phone. If not, you have to subscribe to them with additional tariff.

  • Nokia Internet Radio unable to choose Packet Data ...

    Hi,
I have just downloaded the Nokia Internet Radio v1.04 to my N95 8GB (v20.0.0.16). It works fine over WLAN but doesn't even display the Packet Data access points (O2 Postpay WAP & O2 Postpay WAP) when I go to settings or when it starts up.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that hasn't cured it. I'm not sure how much data was deleted during the uninstallation though as the favourites I have added are still there even after the re-install!
Has anyone had a similar fault?
    Thanks

  • Applying for Packet Data ? on Nokia 2220 -vodaphon...

my phone is a nokia 2220 it says to use to connect to wireless/wifi I need to apply for packet data first. Is this a paid service ? and do customers only get this if they are on a plan ?
I think this very strange because I also have a Nokia E71 which can automatically find any free wifi access point, and let me use the internet for free , and that pre paid sim card is on 0 credit.
but with my Nokia 2220 Im suppose to apply for packet data first before I can search for access points, anyone have more help on this ?

The Nokia 2220 doesn't have WiFi compatibility and hence can connect to the Internet only thru' Mobile Data. Hence you need to get a Data Plan activated thru' your Operator which will surely be a Paid service.
