Nokia 6700 default applications

Since updating my 6700 classic phone to firmware V07.60 my default applications have stopped working. All I get is a message saying "Supportive File. Nothing to display".
I have tried resetting the phone and reinstalling the firmware but I still get the same problem.
Does anyone know where I can download the default 6700 classic apps, in particular Converter, World Clock,and Brain Champ?

You might want to reflash the firmware. If you do not know how, go to your Nokia Care Centre.

I have a question about setting the default applications under Menu -> Settings -> Phone -> Application sett. -> Default apps. As I understand this, I can change the default application here. But I can't. I want to change the default webbrowser from the built in thing to Opera Mobile and the default music player to PowerMP3 but can't figure out how to do this as I only have the standard items when I want to change them.

Nokia 6700 Email and IM application

I accidently deleted the Email and IM application on my new Nokia 6700 phone while transfering information from my old phone to new phone, is there a way to re-download those applications?
I've been searching across the Nokia website and it says there are options to download the Email and IM application but I haven't found a link to it:

I remmeber having an option in NSU to redownload the firmware but was not given the option. I have tried both NSU and Ovi PC Suite. My current firmware version is 10.50.

Hello, sorry to hear about the issue you're having. I suspect a firmware upgrade is necessary. You will need to contact Nokia Care to do this, goto: www.nokia.com, select your region, country, support, then contact us. Hope this helps.

Please note that Nokia 6700 device is supported by nokia multimedia Transfer for mac

Download Nokia Multimedia Transfer
Connect the device and select PC suite mode in the device
Then click the icon on the menu bar, and go to tools and settings
Then select check for updates now with the device connected.
The device profile will be downloaded.
Restart Nokia Multimediate Transfer and lauch again

Just a note for people who are as non observant as I was and who might find this useful...
My Nokia 6700 slide wouldn't sync, no matter what I did and even when I installed:

For some reason, by default, my Nokia came with Sync settings disabled on the phone.
So to remedy this, go to:
Settings > Connectivity > Sync >
And select all the things you want to sync before you run iSync. I missed this in the manual, I spent about 8 hours trying to fix it and all to no avail until I found this simple ommission.
Also, if you need to uninstall the nokia isync plugin, just go to:
/Library/PhonePlugins
and delete the relevant files.

Nokia 6700 on support website....when??

Does anyone know when Nokia will update their website support / OVI areas to include the new Nokia 6700. This handset is now on sale in the UK (I have one) but when you try and download the PC software / OVI maps or get general support on the website it is as if the Phone does not exist. More importantly the software update "can i update screen" does not recognise the phone either.
I even tried contacting Nokia directly using the contact us section but even that did not include the new model? Their reply was usual default useless response......thanks Zoey !! not.
I am hoping that this will be resolved soon as my first Orange 6700 crashed and died on the first day of ownership and I am still waiting for a replacement to be sent.
What happened? - Phone was fully charged and all I did was launch the included game (snakes 3) on starting a new game the screen displayed what seemed to be the main home screen with "?" logos where all the onscreen frames are displayed. The phone then switched off and would not restart again. Leaving the phone without power for 1hr did not resolve this and phone is officially dead. Just hope replacement works a bit better than this

Nokia 6700 Memory Selection Problem

Please help I am not able to find the option in Nokia 6700 how to select memory card for the messages memory also how I able to tranfer the old messages to Nokia 6700. From the pc suite software provided by nokia I already copoed oll my messages to pc but its not enabling paste option when I connect my nokia 6700 to pc suit software.
Two Issues:
- Messages saving option not showing memory card selection?
- Not allowing paste messages from pc through Nokia pc suite software
- I noticed in the phone not even showing memory card usage option in other application as well is it a bug or ?

try format your memory card using your phone.

Free Navigation for Nokia 6700 Classic

Hi everyone,
I notice the recent Nokia announcement that navigation is now free on all it's S60 based phones.
However, I just purchased a new Nokia 6700 Classic (Which has built in A-GPS, Nokia Maps pre-loaded & full offline Australia maps), but it runs S40 Software.
At the moment it appears Nokia still wants to charge me for turn-by-turn voice navigation. It seems a little unfair that the free navigation will only be offered on the S60 handsets when all Nokia have to do is send a free license code to S40 maps users to enable us to do the same.
I'm currently using 'We-Travel' on my Nokia 6700 which is a free 'Offline' GPS application. I'd much prefer to use Nokia's own maps software for navigation, but it's too expensive.
Does Nokia have any intention of making the free navigation available on the 6700 classic, or will users of non-S60 handsets still have to pay for this function?

Nokia 6700 classic & instant messaging

Dear sirs, I have a nokia 6700 classic and I cannot use the instant messaging system: I enter the “chat” application and I can select only the "Ovi" service.
How can I add other services (GoogleTalk, Messenger, Yahoo talk)???

Bug: "default applications" does not work

I set my internet browser to "opera mobile". nonetheless, everything gets opened in the nokia browser.
What exactly is the benefit of changing the "default applications" then?

Nokia 6700 browser problem

I am trying to use the browser that is on default installed on my nokia 6700 but when i try to login in my facebook i can't because the letter's im writing are blank.The probem seems to be only in facebook and i dont know why. When i click okay it says nothing has been written. The letters are blank. I tried to change the writing settings and nothing seemed to work. I reinstalled the software of the phone and it still has the same problem.

It seems that nokia c3 has the same problem too. I was wondering if my phone was broken but it seems that the problem is with facebook itself. I hope they fix it soon.. Because the problem is 2 weeks old and they can't fix it still.

Opera Browser Problem on Nokia 6700

Yesterday (28/5/13) I was able to use the Opera Mini ver 4.1.07 browser on my Nokia 6700. When I tried to use the browser today I got this (see attachment).
Does anyone know whats happened please?

Went to Collection > Opera Mini > Options but Delete option is greyed out . Tried to open Opera Mini > Invalid application. Delete? > Yes > Not allowed > OK > Collection
What can I do now?

Nokia 6700 - Issue with Contacts Settings

I just got the Nokia phone today and transferred the numbers across via my SIM card. Previously all my contacts were shown with the first name first. Only the first contact on my phone is like this now, the rest are last name first. I've tried changing this through the settings options but it doesn't do anything.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Dear Hazel,
Contact names on the phone memory has two fields i.e. Last name & First name. Contacts in the SIM has only one field and by default if you copy the contacts from SIM to Phone, names will be copied into the Last Name field on the Phone memory.

Nokia 6700 headset connected and call/message aler...

Hi I am new to this so excuse any mistakes I make and hope this makes sense.
When the Nokia 6700 has its in box headset attached new message/call alerts still come through phone speakers. I find this annoying as when sat in a public place don't want phone ringing when headset in but still want to hear alert through headset.
Is there anyway this can be switched off?

How stupid of me. To do this. Go to your enhancement settings then change the default profile to silent or edit one so that call and sms alert is just a beep then you'll avoid the drama

Nokia 6700 connection to pc off and on

My new nokia 6700 connects to my computer through the pc suite no problem,but the connection only lasts for a few seconds.First it says connected , then disconnected , not leaving any time to do any work through the pc.
Is there any setting on the phone I can adjust, I have tried 3 different usb leads also connection through bluetooth, all with the same results.My other phones connect well .Can anyone please help !

Nokia 6700 skype or messenger is not working prope...

Hi.. the nokia 6700 on a 3 contract comes with skype. When i try to minimise the application it says closing application and literally it closes down the application. It dosent stay minimised or hide. As i contacted my service provider they say that nokia 6700 was build this way. If it has been build like this its sad that i have one. Can some one from Nokia confirm this?? There is no point of using skype when it closes down. Can Nokia update the firmware version so that applications can stay ??? Apart from this 6700 is a master piece but it dosent have a secondary camera...

I purchased my phone from O2 (sim-free) apparently but it came with their settings. As it is branded that must be the reason for the slight variation in installed applications, settings .etc
When attempting to playback a video on m.youtube.com the media player loads, containing the globe icon with a small arrow, indicating a shortcut or link of some sort, the time/length of the clip updates but after a few seconds i get the "i" symbol in a pop up message displaying "No Response."
Any ideas?
Should I try reinstalling the 7.60 firmware with Nokia Software Updater?
