Nokia 6708 - cannot connect to PC Suite 6.85

I cannot connect my 6708 to PC Suite 6.85 although I followed all steps as per web site and customer "care". I get the readin " Nokia 6708 connected in a non compatible mode " How can I undo this and make it compatible. Apparently customer care cannot help. Anyone with a solution ? Much appreciated as I paid a damn lot of money for this phone and use it for my business. Thanks a lot

Does any prompt appear in your phone when you connect the usb cable? In some Nokia like my N91-2, I have 3 option(PCSuite,Mass Storage, & Music) & selecting mass storage give that message, which one have to ignore. Windows treat the phone memory as just another external harddisk like flash disk.
Did you download the PCSuite version specifically for your phone model?Message Edited by android on 12-Dec-200711:22 AM

  • My Nokia phone cannot connect to Nokia Suite (E6-0...

    Hello,
I have the following problem. 2 days ago I updated my Nokia Suite with a new version ... Everything went smooth, but, when I tried to connect my phone (both E6 and C5) the suite displayed an error message saying that the phone is not connected in PC Suite mode ... I checked the setting on both phones and both were in PC SUite mode.
I emailed the Nokia support and they suggested me to reset the phone to factory settings ... I did it, but the problem still persists ... Then I tried to reinstall the Suite ... But without any result ... I still cannot connect the devices to Nokia suite.
Any suggestions on how to solve this issue? Are there others that are experiencing the same issue?

    Hi EugeniuSp,
    - Which Windows version and which Windows Service Pack do you have installed?
    After that, please try following:
    - First, disconnect both phones from your PC.
    - Then reboot your PC
    - When PC has started again, start again Nokia Suite
    - Try now connecting your phone in PC Suite mode to your PC via USB cable
    - Does Nokia Suite now connect to your phone?
If that didn't help, try following:
    - Disconnect your phone from PC
    - Go into WIndows Control Panel
    - Search there installed programs
    - Uninstall Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
    - Restart your PC
    - When PC has restarted, please run again Nokia Suite installation package (available from www.nokia.com/nokiasuite) and choose repair option
    - After Nokia Suite installation has completed, try connecting your phone again to your PC.
    - Does Nokia Suite now connect to your phone?
    Cheers, Samuli

    please help!
    E.

Have just upgraded my 2G iPhone to v3.0 software and the 616 will now longer connect (it worked bine with the 2.1 and 2.2 software). Sometimes it will find the phone sometimes it won't, but even when it finds it it will not initiate the pairing process.
Anyone managed to get the 616 to work with iPhone v3.0 firmware?

  • 6102 CA-42 Cannot Connect to PC Suite

I have what appears to be an offbrand CA-42 cable (from eBay). It has always worked fine for me in the past, but I recently did a fresh install of XP with SP2, and now I'm running into some problems. From the CD, I first install the cable drivers, then follow all instructions perfectly through the PC Suite installation. When it gets to the "Get Connected" part, I'm stuck on the screen where I connect my phone for the final part of the setup. My PC's definitely recognizing the 6102 from the USB port, but I'm just hanging on the "Connect Your Phone" screen and the phone never adds its profile to PC Suite. I've already searched the forums and haven't found a working solution yet. Any ideas???Message Edited by themilstead on 24-Oct-2006

because this is vitual COM port assosiation by windows, you really cannot predict what COM port will be assigned to this device, it depends what other stuff you have in your PC system that requires COM port.
What I mean was that try to figure out from PC Suite - manage connections, that do you have, when selecting CA-42 a choise to select a COM port and if yes, select the one that is visible.
With Nokia CA-42 (the original) the COm port association normally happens automatically, because users (the wast majority I think) do not want to know anything about COm ports ;-)

  • Nokia 6080 cannot connect to pc.....

I had install driver cable CA-53 but window shows that one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and window does not recognize it...
    What should i do ? ?

I uninstalled PC Suite & used PC Cleaner to remove all files. Restarted.
1st installed Only the cable driver. No luck.
2: Installed PC Suite 6.82.27.0. Restarted. No Luck. Ran the .bat file from Miksu's advice to register all .dll files. Rebooted. No luck.
When I connect the cable to the phone, the phone displays:
    i Data Enhancement connected
    i Enhancement not supported
When Windows 2000 prompted to install the cable. It could not find a suitable driver. So I chose "Have Disk" and browsed to
    "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver"
Many Nokia **** USB Modems were listed.
*NO driver for Nokia 6080 was listed*
That is why I conclude that Nokia has not created support for the 6080 in their cable drivers.
I tried Nokia 6085. It installed, but the cable no-longer shows up under connected USB devices and the "modem" would not respond. uninstalled that.
Has anyone with the 6080/CA-42 had success?

  • Nokia 6230i cannot cannect using PC Suite 6.7

    I am using
    Windows XP
    SP2
    IVT Bluesoleil 1.60
    Nokia 6230i
    PC Suite 6.70.22
My Bluetooth stack does not appear as an option on the Get Connected wizard, it only shows the Microsoft Bluetooth stack. Have tried to use this but my phone is not detected. It did appear at one time (and my phone paired with PC Suite) but had to reinstall PC suite and it disappeared. When it did appear my phone paired with PC Suite but still did not connect. I can transfer files with Bluesoleil but want to sychronise with Outlook using PC Suite. Can you help with both these problems?

  • Nokia 5230 Cannot Sync with Ovi Suite

Every time I connect my phone to my computer to sync up  with Ovi Suite and click on sync, it doesn't sync and a message pops up to tell me to reconnect or fix the Bluetooth. This has been happening to me ever since I got the phone 3 months ago and only once have I properly synced up my phone with my music (which now doesn't work either and doesn't pick up on the files on my memory card that I added through syncing with Ovi Suite, and every time I connect with the setting of mass storage it tells me I don't have enough room or shows the files ) I would like to restore it to the original factory settings but I have some important files on my phone that I would like to back up before I do that.

  • 5800 XpressMusic cannot connect to PC suite becaus...

I decided to uninstall OVI_PC suite (ori.version that I get with my phone) to try the new one (version 2)
With the new PC suite, I can't use the phone as the modem because of MTP device.
So, I removed and tried NOKIA_PC suite (version 7.1). The MTP device message occur again.
Then I decided to call Nokia careline that suggest me to
    1) uninstall 2 devices (Nokia USB Modem & I don't remember) in device manager.
    2) Restart both phone & laptop.
    3) Connect again in other USB port. >> Now I can connect the phone modem and surf the net.

  • Nokia 130: Cannot connect to PC with USB cable

I recently bought a Nokia 130 and tried to connect it to my PC via USB cable, but the phone only displayed "Charging" instead of a menu to choose "Data Storage". Why was that? I felt like I was cheated.

Good day, Rino130. Are you still having the same issue? If so, let us isolate your concern by using another USB cable. You can also try connecting your phone to another computer to check if there's any difference and then let us know the outcome. BTW, welcome to our community.

  • Nokia 6230i, cannot connect bluetooth phone to pc

I have just brought a 6230i, i have paired my pc and my phone, and i can transfer from the pc to the phone, but i cannot transfer from my phone to the pc via bluetooth, it comes up with no devises found, eventhough its paired. My network is o2.

    Dear All
I updated my BlueSoleil software as well, whilst I was at it - now 2.1.3 - but the problem seems to have been assigning a com port to bluetooth - I have now done this, and managed to back up my 6230 to the PC and restore the majority of stuff to my 6230i - thankfully including all contacts information and calenda info, exactly as it was. This has saved me hours !
Many thanks to you all for helping me with this.

  • Cannot Connect to Nokia Suite

    Hi,
As my Nokia was running bit slow, i did a hard reset by pressing *#7370#, the phone was not connected to PC. After the phone was restarted, I cannot connect to the Nokia Suite on my laptop. It seems it cannot even realise that a phone is connected through USB. Please help.
    Thanks

    @Worldwar
If you change USB connectivity mode on C5-00 user interface to "mass storage" mode does your PC recognise it in this mode?

  • Cannot connect my phone to PC suite

I have a Nokia 7373 and I am trying to connect it to the PC suite using bluetooth. The version of PC Suite I have is 6.83. I am also using Windows XP.
I have done everything the manual told me to do, and bluetooth is switched on.
If anyone can help me with connecting my phone it would be much appreciated!
    Thanks.

    | am also having the same problem connecting my nokia 7373 to the pc suite with bluetooth, I have had to buy a USB cable, despite having just bought the bluetooth.
I am using windows XP home edition, and IVT bluesoleil, version 1.6.1.4, release 050606, and have updated the pc suite to version 6.83.14.1, I have tried fixing the pc suite in add/remove programmes, and fixing the pc connectivity solution, I have also uninstalled it, and then saved it to my PC and installed rather than running fron the website, but nothing works!!
When I try and connect via bluetooth it gives me a code open media, and tells me to check all the drivers and software needed are available. It has on occasion allowed me to get past this and tick the box for the bluetooth, but then when it finds my phone it is greyed out, and cannot connect with it, even though I can do it with the actual bluetooth programme, unfortuanatly the bluetooth programme isnt as good as been able to use the pc suite, hence why I have bought a USB cable!
I never had a problem using the PC suite I had with my Nokia 6230i, so I can only think it is the updated version of PC suite that has a problem?

  • Nokia N85 unable to connect to Ovi Suite

I am unable to connect my nokia n85 through usb for Ovi suite and also the Nokia Download program. Whenever i connect the cable, it tells me
"your device is in file transfer connection mode and cannot be used with NOkia Ovi Suite. Quit file tranfer mode from the device if you want to use the device with Nokia Ovi Suite"
The problem is i have no idea how to do this, and whenever i connect my usb cable my phone asks me which type of transfer method and i always select pc suite, so it shouldnt give me this error.

plese help me for fixing this issue: Mine is nokia n85 smart phone. After installing ovi suite in my PC with windows 7, and updating all the software from nokia support, I am unable to connect my mobile to ovi suite through USB. It says," device does not support (though in phone it shows connected in PC suite mode). Please suggest me with 2 alternative methods so I can use one in failure default. Thank you
