Nokia 6710 - ring tone sets to silent at random ti...

Hi,
Having a random problem with my business phone.
Ringtone sometimes sets to silent mode. The only way to reset is to reboot/restart the phone. Have missed several business opportunities as a result of this issue!
Has anyone had the same problem or know of a solution to my dilemma?
Phil.

Are you using the preinstalled tones or your own mp3s ect
if your using your own tones move them to the phones memory
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
Now using the Lumia 1520

  • Nokia Breeze Ring Tone on 808

I was looking for the Nokia Breeze ringtone on my 808 that came with the N8. I love it as it is great for the office or quiet situations especially when set to ascending. Seems like it doesn't ship with belle fp1.
So I found it here for those who like it.

  • Pre-loaded Ring Tones Silent after installing Tone Room

I recently installed Tone Room and now my ring tones are all silent. I uninstalled Tone Room (I had never even tried one of their tones) but I still all I get now is vibrate even though I've set my notification profile to Loud. I went into the pre loaded ringtones file and even though they are all there they don't have any sound. They are all listed at 0:00 duration.
Can anybody suggest how I can retrieve the original ringtones.? If I do a restore from a previous back-up what file should I restore?
    Thanks in advance

  • TS2634 My iPhone 4s does not ring for incoming calls. Ring tone is set/settings/sound. It used to ring. I think it has to do with updating to IOS 7.0.4? After updating IOS 7.0.3 my microphone stopped working. Had to clear/reload.

My iPhone 4s does not ring for incoming calls. Ring tone set and used to ring. I think it has something to do with updating the IOS 7.0.4. When I updated to 7.0.3 the microphone stopped working. Had to call Apple Support and cleared phone and reloaded. ($57 charge). Any suggestions?

Start with your finger at the bottom of the screen (about even with the home button) and swipe in an upward motion.  There should be a row of icons at the top of a grey field.  if the quarter-moon icon is bright white, tap it.  If it was (and still is) dark, take the iPhone in to be evaluated by a qualified technician.

  • N97 Mini Selected Ringing Tones become default rin...

Guys, I need ur help. I'm facing some problem with my Nokia N97 Ringing Tones. I have set my Ringing Tones to my ideal tones but sometime the ringing tones does not ring in the ideal tones I selected. It become default Nokia Ringing Tones. Anybody can help me. Maybe NOKIA can answer.

I updated mine by sending it to the Care Center which is the only way I can do it where i am. you will need to call your local nokia call center to check if it is available.  I envy you guys who can do it OTA or using your PC.  Visiting the Care Center is such a chore.  But like I said I wanted to correct the random ringtone thing so I took a day off and did it.

  • Different alerts for email and sms messages for a contact with custom ring tone

    Hello,
    I have a Curve 8530 with OS 5.0.0.395.
I have my default sound profile set up to play one type of alert sound when I receive and email message and another when I receive an SMS message (so I know the difference without looking at my phone). That works fine except for contacts that I also have a custom ring tone set up for. It seems that under the Custom Ring Tones/Alerts section of the contact there is only one entry for Messages and it applies to both email and SMS. If I have the contact's message alerts set to the alert I have for email, then their SMS messages play the same alert and I might think it's an email. Or if I have the messages alerts set to the SMS alert sound then their emails sound like SMS messages. Is there a way to have a custom ring tone set up for a contact but still allow their emails and SMS messgaes to follow the current sound profile's settings?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
Have you had any luck resolving this issue. I had a 8230 and this was possible. But like you I can get the 8530 to work. If you found the solution, please let me know.

  • E72: what's difference of Ringing Tone, line 1 and...

Going to Nokia E72's Control Panel, Settings->General->Personalisation->Tones
    There is an option:
Ringing tone, line 1  (input tone file)
Ringing tone, line 2 (input tone file)
In my case, I used 2 different tones for line 1 and line 2.
So far, when I receive I voice call, the tone I specified in line 1 will ring to signify an incoming caller.  I've always heard that ringing tone for my incoming voice calls.
But just awhile ago, it used the ringing tone for line 2 when I got a voice call.  I was wondering, what that "line 2" ringing tone is used for until I heard that tone awhile back.
When does "ringing tone line 2" get triggered anyway?

I see, thanks for the quick explanation. So the caller must have mistakenly used "video call" instead of "voice call" (since video call is supposed to be quite more expensive to use).
I believe our network supports video calls (it says "3.5G " in the E72's upper screen display), however, due to it's being more expensive, I think it's not used that much yet (at least I've never tried using it, and my guess is that my caller accidentally chose "video call" -- he quickly hangup the call and called through voice call [ringing tone line 1], which is why I didn't get to answer the video call when I heard the [ringing tone line 2 sound].)
Is this thing documented in the Nokia documentation (ringing tone line 1  & 2) or is it from your actual experience?

  • Nokia N73 (not music edition) Ring tone mute mode

    Hi,
I am having the Nokia N73 (not music edition) phone. If I receive any call when the music player is in the pause mode then I can see the vibrating alert only and not the ring tone. At that time my ring tone is going on mute mode. Is it a build-in functionality? Or it is a problem?
    Thanks,
    Parker.

Try switching profiles. If you see it's set to Silent, turn it to General instead.

  • HT201401 My iphone would not ring with incoming calls, despite ring tone was set up?

My iphone would not ring with incoming call despite ring tone was set up using sound setting.  In the beginning, it did ring. After a while it stops working.  Any idea to make it work again?

Is the silent switch on the side of the iphone on?

No sound in I my Phone. No ring tone or soungs and clips sound. I already reset the setting but nothing has changed. The sound only active with headphone?

Make sure the Ring/Silent switch isn't showing a red bar or dot.
If that isn't it, try disconnecting the headphones and adjusting the the volume.
If the iPhone says headphones when you adjust the volume, there could be something in the headphone jack.
You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones 5-6times or restoring the iPhone.

  • One contact rings anyway when profile set to silent or vibrate

I had a BlackBerry Style 9670 for about five years and liked it. Decided to upgrade, but not ready for the Q/Z10 yet, so I got the Bold 9930 last week. I had the problem I'm going to describe on the 9670 and was hoping a new phone would cure it. No such luck.
When I set the phone to silent or vibrate, ONE of my contacts-- let's call him "Bob"-- still rings through. Other callers do not. When other callers call, the phone either vibrates or just shows the call on the screen, as per the ACTIVE PROFILE.
But when Bob calls, even if the phone is set to silent or vibrate, HIS calls ring. It's very aggravating.
So I got my new phone and Bob was over yesterday, and we performed some experiments. I set it to vibrate and asked him to call me; it rang. I set it to silent; ditto. When I set it to "all alerts off," it DID NOT ring, but his call did show up on the screen, which makes me wonder what is the difference between "all alerts off" and "silent"?
I've deleted him from my contacts list and re-entered him. I've changed the ringtone. I've carefully examined all the choices in the options panel WRT profiles and WRT to his contact settings in particular. His phone option is set to "active profile."
It only happens with Bob. He thought it might be because he has an iPhone, but I have other iPhone contacts and this doesn't happen with them.
I don't know if this is a BlackBerry problem or a Sprint problem. But I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Sprint, and of course, they say it's a BlackBerry problem. Also, it seems to me that this didn't always happen. This is my third BB since I've known him, and I don't recall it happening on my Pearl at all or on the 9670 for the first couple of years.
Is there any way to actually CALL for BB tach support? Or is this forum our only option for getting help?
    Any thoughts? Anyone...?

I found the answer. Thanks to all who took a stab at answering (not). I just read this in an online BlackBerry manual:
You can create contact alerts that allow you to customize ring tones and alerts for calls and messages from specific contacts or groups of contacts. When you receive a call or message from the contact, your BlackBerry smartphone uses the assigned ring tone or alert, even if you select the Silent profile or Vibrate Only profile. If you do not want to be notified with the assigned ring tone or alert, you can select the All Alerts Off profile.
I do not think it was always this way... I remember at one time in the past that if I set the phone to vibrate or silent NO rings came through, even uniquely assigned ringtones. Maybe this changed as a result of an OS update sometime in the last 4-5 years.
So from this it seems that my phone is behaving normally. That when I have a custom ringtone assigned to a contact (in Bob's case, the James Bond theme), it will always ring, unless I set the phone to "all alerts off." I only have custom ringtones assigned to three contacts, so that's why it seemed to me that only his was misbehaving.
    Not what I expected.

  • How can i set up different rings/tones for incoming emails for different email accounts?

HI, I would like to be able to hear different rings/tones for emails coming from different email accounts. Eg, One sound for incoming email from gmail and another sound for incoming e-mail from Yahoo.
    Thanks!

" Is there a possibility to set up different ringtones for each of the emails separately? "
No.  Maybe with ios 6 this fall.
"Also would there also be an option for high priority emails to have a different ringtone as well?"
No.  Maybe with ios 6 this fall.

  • How do I set a ring tone sent to me via text as my ring tone?

Just got a new Droid Razor Maxx, I have a ring tone that was sent to me via text, how do I set it as my incoming ring tone?

    From Motorola's support site:
To use a custom ringtone for text messages, follow the steps below:
Create a folder on the microSD card and name it "notifications" - small caps. Use an SD card reader or using your phone as a USB storage device to do this from your PC.
Copy any compatible audio file you want to set as a message notification to that folder.
Insert the SD card back into your phone or set your phone back to None to access your SD card (Either internal or external if available).
Go to messaging and press the menu key.
    Tap Messaging Settings.
    Tap Text Messaging.
Tap Select ringtone. You should be able to locate your audio files there and set them.

    yes you can
    A. how to make a ringtone using iTunes
First, open up iTunes in order to make a ringtone using iTunes. Find the song you want to turn into a ringtone by browsing through your music library.
Next, find exactly what part of the song you want to make a ringtone using iTunes. For example, if you want to use a specific section of the song from 21 seconds to 40 seconds, make a note of where you want the ringtone to begin and end.
Now, right click on the song you want to turn into a ringtone. Click "Get Info". Now, in order to make a ringtone using iTunes, click the "Options" tab.
Check the "Start Time" check box. Type in the point in the song where you want the ringtone to start in the format "minute:seconds" (e.g. the second mark would be 0:20). You can also be more precise by adding a period and putting milliseconds in after that (e.g. 0:20.150, would be 20.150 seconds). Also, click the "Stop Time" check box and enter where you would like the ring tone to end. Keep in mind ringtones can only be around 39 seconds maximum. Press "Ok". We are almost done making a ringtone in iTunes
Now, right click on the same song. Select "Convert AAC Version". If it is in another file format, you can go to "Edit" then "Preferences" and under the "General" tab click "Import Settings"; change the file format to AAC. After you select "Convert AAC Version" a new file will be created, but it will only be the segment of the song that you specified earlier.
Now, you have to find the file you just created. Right click on the new, shorter song and select "Open in Windows Explorer". The file extension should be .m4a. Rename the extension to .m4r by right clicking the file and selecting "Rename".
Now you can delete the shortened version of the song in your iTunes library. Then, double click the .m4r file and it will loaded into your iTunes Ringtone list. Now you can make a ringtone using iTunes!
