I cannot delete mailbox under Menu -> Email -> Settings -> [Selected mailbox] -> Option -> Remove Mailbox -> "You must be connected to remove a mailbox. Try again later.".
Connected where and how the mailbox can be deleted?
There are lots of discussion of same problem but no solution (=factory reset is not solution).

try this or read the link below hope this helps
Perform the following steps on your device, which includes built-in Email client:
Select Menu
Select Email
Select Settings
Select Mail for Exchange
Select Options
Select Remove mailbox
Select Yes
Since the Email application is built-in on the device, there is nothing to uninstall.  The only necessary steps is to remove the mailbox.

  • E72- Can't delete mailbox

Hello. I have a problem. I configurated the email, but entered a wrong code in imap-settings. I can send but not receive mail.(Custom, not OVI, Yahoo or Exchange). Then I created a new box but it wouldnt work, so I deleted it. Then I tried to delete the original box, but no such luck. It is impossible to remove it. I really have no clue about what to do. There is no way I can change the settings inside the box either. Anyone who can bring me out of my misery? :-)

I had this problem with "Unable to delete the mailbox and so on." message. I was able to delete mailbox by this way:
    1. Visit the Messaging - Email site https://email.nokia.com/account/login.action . Your user name is the first email address you used when you signed up for Messaging - Email. (In my Google Chrome this link was not opened, but in IE it was all right).
    2. After login click "delete" nearby the mailbox name, that you wanted to del.
    3. Try to connect to any mailbox from your E72 or just reboot smartphone.

  • Can't delete mailbox

Tried all the suggestions (highlight, select delete etc.) Looked for folder with mail in library (no success)  Can not delete empty mailbox

Are you trying to delete a user created "On My Mac" location mailbox or a server stored mailbox for an IMAP type account?

  • I can't delete mailbox "On My Mac"

I have checked my Mail/V2/Account folders and I have all permissions. I have deleted the account the mailboxes were linked to. However, Mail will not let me delete these mailboxes. Everytime I choose "Delete Mailbox" it makes a sound (the no new mail sound) and the mailbox is still there.
It is important for to delete these mailboxes as I have recently quit my job and neep to clean my computer of sensative information.

Not sure if you ever solved this but I stumbled upon your question after spending hours trying to do this myself.
I followed all sorts of advice - finding the mail folder, moving the mailboxes etc etc... But every time I re-opened mail they were still there and the files I'd moved were back where they started!
Anyway - turns out is really simple.....
    Open Mail
Open Preferences (in the Mail menu)
    Select the Accounts tab
Highlhight the account you want to delete
Find the + and - buttons to the bottom left of the window
Select the - button and volia! Pesky mailbox that has wasted far too much of my life already, is now gone!
Hope this stops you or someone else from wasting any more of your life on what's actually a really simple thing!

  • "Set of folders can not be opened. you must connect to microsoft exchange with current profile" geeting error while opening shared mailbox in outlook 2007

    Hello Folks,
I am having exchange sever 2007 SP3. currently facing issue with one shared mailbox. One of the user is not able to open that mailbox from outlook 2010.
I can able to add that mailbox in the outlook but while opening the outlook it is asking for password. Outlook is not accepting user password for that mailbox. I have removed that user from full access and added that user again.
Other shared mailbox is working fine with same outlook profile and other user can also able to access that problematic shared mailbox.
Can anyone tell how to troubleshoot..?
    Thanks, Chinmay.

    Hi,
How do you open the shared mailbox in Outlook?
Please remove the shared mailbox from your Outlook totally and follow the following steps to open it:
    1. Open Outlook, click File > Account Settings
    > Account Settings.
    2. Click Change and make sure Use Cached Exchange Mode is checked.
    3. Click More Settings > Advanced tab.
    4. Click Add next to Open these additional mailboxes and type the shared mailbox.
    5. Click Ok > OK. Then the shared mailbox would be listed under the Navigation Pane.
Alternatively, we can create a new Outlook profile in Outlook and setup the shared mailbox. If it is asking for credentials, we can use the user account who have full access permission to the shared mailbox for authentication.

  • Nokia N8 does not delete mailboxes

I created three mailbox accounts on Nokia N8, one with Microsoft Exchange, one with gmail and one company address. After the first time when all the emails were downloaded for all the three accounts. Now only emails form exchange server are downloaded. No matter how much I try to manually synchronize the other 2 mailboxes, they are not getting synchronized at all. I am also trying to delete the mailboxes after being fedup, and they are not even getting deleted. Any helps on getting rid of this mess will be much appreciated.

  • Nokia 5800 can't delete 4kb video files

I have transfered several video files to my 5800 via USB mass storage. The phone has created 'copies' of these using their titles but with ._ in front and each file is only 4kb. I have watched some of the master videos and deleted them but these wierd unwatchable copies cannot be deleted. The phone says they are currently open and cannot be deleted.
I have opened the memory card on my Mac and deleted the cache in the Private folder and also the three .db files which I thought would force it to refresh it's database and see the files weren't there. I've also deleted the _PAlbTN folders.
After restarting the phone the 'copies' are still there in My Videos. Whilst they are only using a small amount of space at the moment they are gettign in the way of seeing what I actually want to watch and after a few months I'll end up with a whole heap of these things!!
Is there any way to delete them?

Not had this problem, and don't have a mac. However if you install something like Y-Browser or X-plore, you may be able to see where the files are situated and delete from there. Also a hard reset would almost cetainly resolve this, but I would use it as a last resort. Hope this helps, or that someone posts a better solution.
    Good Luck

  • Can't delete mailboxes permanently

I have migrated from Eudora to Mac Mail and ended up with a few unwanted mailboxes that were artifacts of the import. I can delete them within the Mail program, but they reappear when mail restarts. The do not show up in /Library/Mail/Mailboxes.
    Anyway to permanently delete these?

Solved my own problem. There were rules pointing to these boxes. Once the rules were deleted, the boxes could be permanently deleted.

  • Can't import mailboxes when setting up

    Hi,
Just upgraded to Tiger, now setting up Mail. When trying to open Mail it tries to import old mailboxes in previous version (total twenty-five thousand messages). It gets to 21492, then crashes. I can't open Mail to import manually, since whenever I open Mail, it tries to import automatically, then crashes. Hitting "cancel" at this point closes Mail. There seems to be no option to just open Mail, then import later.

    Hi alletun.
The conversion from Mail 1.x to Mail 2.x is broken, but Mail crashing because of this is rare, so verify/repair the startup disk first (not just permissions), as described in the following article, in case there is some filesystem corruption that also has a bearing on this:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Now, here’s an example of the most common variant of this problem and how to proceed in those cases:
Just upgraded, Most of my old Inbox is gone!
Your problem, however, is different in that you don’t even get past an incomplete conversion. If Mail stalls or crashes during the conversion process, you may try to identify the mailboxes that Mail is choking on, quit Mail, move those mailboxes out of ~/Library/Mail/ (e.g. to the Destkop), and trash any Envelope Index-named files you may see in ~/Library/Mail/, so that Mail re-creates the index and tries to import the remaining mailboxes again, then manually import the problematic mailboxes as Other.
    <hr>
Alternatively, you may want to set up Mail from scratch and manually import your mail back afterwards. This would allow you to use Mail normally while solving the problem of importing the old mail as you see fit:
    1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/. Move (not copy) the entire Mail folder out of there, to the Desktop.
    3. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop.
    4. Open Mail and set it up again from scratch. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and check that everything works fine.
    5. You’ll have to re-configure all your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
    6. Do File > Import Mailboxes and follow the instructions to import your mail from the old Mail folder that’s now on the Desktop. Import the Mailboxes folder first, then each of the POP-username@mailserver account folders, if any.
There are two ways to import Mail 1.x mailboxes into Mail 2.x. The obvious one is importing them as Mail for Mac OS X. But Mail 1.x stored mail in standard mbox format plus some additional support files, and this allows Mail 1.x mailboxes to also be imported as Other, i.e. as generic mailboxes in standard mbox format.
Importing as Mail for Mac OS X produces the best results when it works, because it takes into consideration all the files in the mailboxes, not just the mbox files where the messages are stored, and hence, allows information such as status flags to be preserved. Importing as Other, on the other hand, may work in cases where importing as Mail for Mac OS X doesn’t, because it looks at the mbox files only, ignoring the support files which is what Mail 2.x usually chokes on, but precisely because of that, information such as status flags is lost and previously deleted messages may reappear.
Hence, you may try importing as much as you can as Mail for Mac OS X, then import the problematic mailboxes as Other.
Note that what Mail asks for when importing depends on the format chosen. Mail always asks for the folder that contains the “things” to be imported. If Mail for Mac OS X is chosen as the data format, the “things” to be imported are the *.mbox folders, so you must choose the folder that contains them, not the *.mbox folders themselves. On the other hand, if Other is chosen as the data format, the “things” to be imported are the mbox files, so you must choose the *.mbox folders that contain them in that case.
Note also that some of the mailboxes now on the Desktop may have already been partially converted to the new *.emlx format during the previous (failed) attempt to convert them in place. If you tell Mail 2.x to import as Mail for Mac OS X a mailbox that already has a Messages folder, Mail will simply ignore the Mail 1.x files present there. If the mailbox was successfully converted to the new format, that’s fine, but if the conversion was incomplete, that’s not what you want.
As a result of doing all the above, some messages may be duplicated. Andreas Amann’s Mail Scripts has a Remove Duplicates script that you may find useful.
If all is well and you don’t miss anything, the files on the Desktop can be deleted, although you may want to keep them for a while, just in case.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.

  • How do I delete caches in Lion and which can I delete?

How do I delete caches in Lion and which ones can be deleted?

you can delete all of them, they will be recreated as soon as the app opens again.
    Clearing Local Caches
    quit all open apps
open Finder press "shift+command+G" and type ~/Library/Caches
Drag all files and folders to the trash
    Enter login password when prompted
    Reboot
your system may seem slower after reboot, this is because the caches are being rebuilt.
    Clearing Application Caches
    quit all open apps
open Finder Press "shift+command+G" and type /Library/Caches
Drag all files and folders to the trash
