I can't connect to the internet take it from a store of vodafone from greece.vodafone it is a company how sells call time,internet mb, SMS,mms.the internet settings was for this companie
(vodafone).but i dont wont to have that company sim.i don't have this company but I have cosmote (have the same services with vodafone) what to do?

Nokia 820 problems

Just bought two Nokia 820s, one for my wife and one for myself. Awesome phones except for a couple of issues. First, the GPS and Nokia Here Maps. When I am at home the maps show me in the right spot but reports (showing the address) that I am 3 houses down the street. When I am at work, the phone shows my position correctly but reports that I am in the Elementary School across the street. Hmmmm. gMaps does not have this problem and seems to have more detailed maps about my city and roadways. So it is a Nokia software problem? I like the Here functionality better, but the accuracy and detail are missing compared to other map services so I have to keep more than one app on my phone, using precious space. Second, I would really like to be able to sync my phone calendar with my google calendar and tasks. Right now I have to use third party apps so I have more than one calendar app (I prefer to use the one on my phone with live tiles!!!!) and more than one task app, etc... and more than one travel app. Also it would be nice to separate the people I want in my phone book from the people I have on social accounts (I will NEVER be calling most of the people on my facebook account, but there are people I call on a regular basis and I hate scrolling through or having to search a gajillion people to find who or what business I am looking for) and still have them listed, just seperately.

Were you running gMaps on the same phone? If so then that would suggest the innacuracy in probably in the mapping data. This being the case, you should report the error to the map data provider using the link below.

Unfortunately there is no way you will be able to get the information from your phone saved. In order to have that done the phone must be in working order.
The phone might however still be repairable and if Nokia cannot fix it for you then perhaps you can try a general cellular repair shop. If the problem is hardware related they might be able to fix it with out you losing your data stored on the phone. If they have to reload the firmware then you will loose everything on the phone unfortunately.

Nokia 6730c firmware problem

After firmware update I cant open contacts, they are stored in my sim card, everything works when my sim is in another phone, but when I put in my 6730c, I cant use contacts, when people are calling me, I can see whos calling, same with sms. Also after that update I noticed ovi adress book, I think this is related somehow, so please make some kind of fix (new firmware update), I've heared that other people has the same problem.

You can have contacts in your SIM card and in your phone memory. You can view and use the contacts simultaneously from both options, or you can choose to use just one of the alternatives.
To adjust which contacts you want to see:
In Contacts, select Options > Settings.
Scroll to Contacts to display and select Change. Mark the desired contact in:
Phone memory
SIM memory
Service numbers
Press OK.
You can also choose the default saving memory for saving phone numbers:
In Contacts, select Options > Settings.
Scroll to Default saving memory. Select Change. Choose from Phone memory or SIM memory.
Press OK.
Transferring the contacts for the first time when inserting the SIM card
When you open the contacts list for the first time, the device asks if you want to copy names and numbers from the SIM card to your device.
To start copying, select OK. If you do not want to copy the contacts from the SIM card to your device, select Cancel.
The device asks if you want to view the SIM card contacts in the contacts directory. To view the contacts, select OK. The contacts list opens, and the names stored on your SIM card are indicated with the SIM card symbol.
Copying contacts between SIM card and phone memory
You can copy single or several contacts from the SIM card to your phone memory and vice versa.
To copy contacts:
Scroll to the contact you want to copy, and select Options.
If you want to copy a single contact, select Copy. Now you can choose the destination you want to copy the contact to.
If you want to copy several contacts, select Mark/Unmark and Mark to choose the contacts,or Mark all. The chosen contacts are displayed with a mark. Select Options >Copy again, and select the destination you want to copy the contacts to.

6730c - problems updating MS Outlook Contacts via ...

Originally no problems using OviSuite to update my Contacts from MS Outlook. For a few weeks, I moved my Sim card to another handset and then reverted back to the 6730c. Now - I can Sync everything EXCEPT Contacts.
OviSuite version updated to 3.0.0.284 and 6730c version 023.010.
Have tried resetting phone and even going back to factory settings, also updating OviSuite has not helped. Also deleted all contacts from the phone, but still can't sync CONTACTS from MS outlook on my laptop. Photos, Messaging, etc. sync fine - just a problem with contacts.
This worked flawlessly previously, but now starts Syncing Contacts but just seems to hang up within a few seconds with "Syncing Contacts" and the scrolling "barber's pole" continuing to display as if the sync was actually taking place - and i've left it doing this for over an hour - in case i was just being impatient!
Any suggestions?

After reading further on this forum - I've downloaded Nokia PC Suite and was able to synchronise between my 6730 and MS Outlook, first time in a few seconds - so I guess my problem was Ovi Suite both the latest 3.0.0.284 as well as the previous 2.2.1.23 versions!
Disappointing to see this working for a few versions then broken for the last 2 versions !

Nokia 5130 problems...please help!

hiya i recently updated my Nokia 5130 over-the-air and had no problems so far. then i have downloaded the latest internet settings fro my phone via my network operator. no problem there. but whenever i surf the net or use 3rd-party chat service the internet shuts down and just stops working? why is this? is there a way to use my internet (to surf or chat) seamlessly? (n.b. i have an unlimited internet option on my network account).

Hello! I have a problem with my Nokia 6730. I bought it 2 weeks ago. Phone for some reason very slow, long reacts to pressing buttons, and for some unknown reason, restarts and resets the time. I can not install it on third-party applications, for example: I wanted to install LCG Jukebox, a music player, for some reason he works with interruptions in the sound. Other applications that I installed, too, are slow. I checked the internet - they are fully compatible with Symbian 9.3. Phone software installed recently - 031,022. Three times the installed factory settings - does not help, get out of the phone memory card - also does not help. Before that I had a Nokia 6120, and there were no such problems, although the processor was almost twice as slow ... Please help me in my problem! Can this be solved by updating the software? Or do I need to return this phone back to the store?

it'll wipe c/phone memory, phone will be "out of box" condition, So please consider BACKUP, but do it manually.

Nokia 6210 Problems with using Edge (Internet Conn...

I have a Nokia 6210 phone bought from an authorized Nokia Care Center in Delhi, India two weeks ago. The software version on the phone is 3.08 dated 11-June 2008. It also mentions custom version as 03.08.c00.01
I am an Airtel Prepaid customer in New Delhi, India and had been using Mobile Office service on my prepaid number for some time. It worked perfectly fine for my Nokia 6233. On my current Nokia 6210 the Internet connection works fine for the first time through the built in browser or though any other application (like Google Maps, Gmail etc) which required internet and displays the sign signifying that the edge connection is active.
The problem is that once I close the application the standby sign for Edge network is displayed as follows and no matter what I am unable to use the internet connection on the phone again until I do the following
Restart the phone (which definitely isn’t a good option)
Wait for around 8-10 minutes after which the Edge on hold sign disappears and is replaced by which means that the edge is available
I found this out accidentally, but if I press the keys *123# which I typically use for enquiring balance, the on hold sign goes away and is replaced by the Edge available sign. after which things work fine.
Not sure where the problem is. I really doubt it’s got to do something with Airtel as the same number worked perfectly fine with my previous Nokia phone in the same area. In addition my wife’s phone (again an Airtel prepaid number) is working great in the same area. So either this has got to do something with the handset or the compatibility of the handset with the Airtel, New Delhi.
I have tried various sets of setting from the following sources
The wizard in built in the handset
Getting the settings from the Nokia site
Getttng the settings from Airtel Customer Care
But with all of them I am facing the same set of problems.
Wanted to check if anybody out you have ever faced a similar problem with this phone or one in a simlar series?

I suggest that you don't make permanent coupling between devices. Looks like Nokia modem is more responsive when you need to manually accept every connection at the phone's end.

Nokia sync problems. E7.

I received the notification concerning the joining of Ovi sync with Nokia mail contacts so I signed up & tried synching my phone contacts with my Nokia email account, the problem is whenever I sync the contacts using the phone they don't update, all that happens is that the contacts are redownloaded on the phone & the original contacts on the phone are deleted (as they end up in the deleted contacts folder online) It seems you cannot change details nor add photos to contacts with the new Nokia sync/Nokia contacts as they are just returned to the original state when synched or, in the case of updated contacts, I get two entries, the original & the updated version or the entry is returned to the original version & isn't updated. I've had to forgo the ovi/nokia sync on the phone & use Nokia suite to backup my contacts. I prefered the old sync which worked fine.

No I still have major problems syncing, the first sync is fine but further syncs just mess everything up; I lose any photo I've assigned to a contact I also find any changes I've made to a contact are not being updated on Nokia sync as I get the original back on the phone which makes it useless. It also doesn't handle symbols like '&' very well & I have to write 'and' instead otherwise anything before the & is missing.
I do have a theory though, as Nokia sync is now connected to Yahoo's address book (as Nokia mail is provided by Yahoo now) I suspect that that platform isn't designed to work the way Ovi sync did but to just be used to download the contact list to the phone & to make changes you have to visit Nokia mail, Yahoo's help refers to this being the case with a different phone manufacturer so I can easily see this being the problem with my E7 & other phones. I've contacted support again to try & get any update on this & even offered to show screenshots of the problem but had no reply. I have heard (I'm sure on this forum) that Nokia have dropped Nokia sync though.

Nokia Maps & problem with '#' button

It looks like my '#' button changed its working in the Nokia Maps application. The pressing causes unpress and vice versa. So, when I release the button, it keeps zooming out until I press it again. Strange, because it works incorrectly only in this application.
Maybe someone clever could give me a hint to solve my problem?
I can observe it in the newest version of Nokia Maps and hard reset doesn't solve my problem.
Please for some clues.

Is it just a problem in the maps application? It sounds rather odd... the button may be sticking, so I'd recommend getting it to your nearest Nokia Service Centre as soon as possible

i have updated my nokia 5130c xpress music with version v7.97. after updation i got that my music player's library updation speed get more faster then before but i have lost screen saver option and also lost power saver option. my music player also become unstable it take more time to change between tracks. net also gone slower. i request to nokia to release a new version of software with all the features like (screen saver, power saver and also with solution of all these problems).

Friend i have nokia5130 also. But my problem is my set not supporting .jar format from few days. Can u advise me plz where from and how shall i update set's software? Plz tell me. I don't know how to update software.
