i have Nokia 700 . on 700 when i am in dual mode 3G icon is coming.when i insert the same sim card in Nokia 500 3.5G symbol is coming
what is the difference between 3G or 3.5G
i have the problem of draing the battery in 3G on my 700.even the phone is idle in 3G the battery consumption is not gettting stopped. i even purchased more capacity battery 2430mAH

there is no stopping in battery consumption.
is Nokia is having a fix for the battery life in 3G.When iam in GSM the battery life is a bit batter.
Pls tell me is there any setting in Nokia 700 to use 3.5G instead of 3G
Please Nokia include the fix for this 3G problem in Belle FP2
any suggestions from u guys regarding my 3G pls let me know

The correct path to enable 3.5G is Settings > Connectivity > Admin settings > Mobile data > High speed packet access set to Enabled.

Nokia 700 and Belle FP1 (Product Code 059L5V1)

My unlocked Nokia 700 (Product Code 059L5V1) never got the Belle FP1 upgrade, and so far hasn't got FP2 several months on from release. Can someone from Nokia advise -
1. Why not - it's unlocked, and so far I've used it on both O2 and Vodafone Contracts
2. It's a UK model to my knowledge
3. When am I likely to get it / how can I get it.
I was fobbed off with FP1 and so far all requests to Nokia have again been fobbed off with a combination of "it's your network provider" or "it will be soon" - this was months ago. Now that there are no longer any (to my knowledge) Service Centre's in the UK that isn't an option either.
I've always been a loyal Nokia customer - but this is really starting to annoy me now (and the lack of support on this matter from Nokia).
Please can one of the Nokia mods / employees look into this and advise what is going on here ?

You know I've heard those lines so many times it's beginning to sound like cut-and-paste.
The fact that he mentioned PRODUCT CODE in the subject line is a fair indication that he knows that his phone has a PRODUCT CODE.
My 059L5V1 is a country variant which was both unbranded and unlocked. It now has the 059G2D1 generic EU FP2 firmware on it. I'm not allowed to say how I achieved this, or I'll get banned.
If it wasn't for the fact my 808 is so good I would have given up on Nokia by now.

No low battery alarm when on the call. (Nokia 700)

There must be some bug with the low battery alarm on Nokia 700. When the phone is on a long call, it just shuts down without any alarm at all. I had this issue several times. My battery shows that it’s full for about 30% or something. Then I call and have a long conversation. And the phone just dies without any alarm at all. When I try to start it again it seems that battery is drained and I have to charge it to turn it on again.
When the phone is in standby and battery is starting to running low, it beeps and shows a message. However, when I am on the call, nothings is happening, it doesn’t give me a message that battery is low and that it’s time to connect to the charger.
It’s a most important functionality I expect from the mobile phone, to be able to make a call reliably.

It seems to me that after I've got version 111.030.0609 installed by Nokia service technician, my Nokia 700 never goes into power saving mode (and it doesn't matter what do I have in Setup / power saving / power saving query). It doesn't turn saving on and it doesn't ask me about it. Something must be wrong with 111.030.0609

Nokia 700 wont turn on

Hi, so i have a problem. I did a hard reset using *#7370# and i think something went wrong and the phone wont start. And now when i try to turn the phone on ir show's the nokia booting animation but no 5dots and just shuts off. Can anyone help what to do?

As a precusror to visiting Nokia Care facility it might be worth trying three key depressed power on "hard reset".
Be warned that all user data upon device both C:\ & E:\ would be deleted, but with device off (remove battery and replace if not certain) keeping the volume down, menu,and camera button depressed and for 700 momentarily pressing red phone(power on) until first vibration felt then release, keeping other three depressed until country selection appears.

Nokia 700 Belle dialer problem

I have 2 languages (English and Greek letters) on my Nokia 700 dialer buttons at the same time. No matter which language is set as default! Latest OTA OFW. Any suggestion?

Nokia 700 won't install apps?

I have a new Nokia 700. Updated firmware, connected to Telstra, connected to the web but can't install any apps. It downloads then gives error "can't install".

Hey Redrich200, Welcome to the Nokia Forums,
Please try to connect your device to a PC via USB and download the applications onto your device using Nokia Suite.
If this should fail please try and install Store QML and try download your apps again.

Nokia 700 unexplained alert tone?

My new Nokia 700 is randomly playing an alert tone that is not acompanied by any message.
No Apps are open and the WLAN is turned off. The tone is the Email1 tone (NB email is not open). I have not changed the default alert tones.
What could this be?

And when I assign for message alert I go Settings-Profiles-General-Personalise-Message Alert Tone(tap)-then have options of Download,Tones,Songs,Video Clips,and sound clips. I select songss-Albums (coz its easier to check 'unknown' where tones end up than all songs) then just select the tone that I dragged to music file from computer after download and use it. Works for me !

Viber is not showing viber contacts on Nokia 700 F...

Please help, when I installed Viber on my Nokia 700 with FP2 at the first time it worked perfectly and no problems appeared but when I did a hard reset (without removing viber) and installed it again it stopped showing viber contacts and it ask me to invites them and I still able to receive my viber contacts and can't reply to them when I do that it says (this viber user is no longer on viber) what to do??
Ps: I've tried installing and removing viber many times and tried to connect on many networks and also visited the official site.

Missing Adobe Reader and QuickOffice (Nokia 700)

I recently had to do a "full factory reset" on my Nokia 700 but since then I seem to have lost both the
Adobe Reader and QuickOffice. Both were working before the reset and I did a full Nokia Suite backup
and restore after the reset.
In an attempt to restore the two missing functions I've re-installed the software and searched the store,
all to no avail.
Any suggestions about how to get them back?

Nokia 700 belle fp2 voip

I configured Voip on Nokia 700 belle fp2 with the guide from this page. I prefer 3G connection so I set packet data connection over 3G and enabled AWCDMA setting in VoIP service settings. Like in the guide. I can make calls. Sound quality is excellent on booth sides. But I'm not reachable over VOIP. My phone doesn't make any signs when I try to call it. I quadruple check to be sure that every profile entry has been made correctly. I reconfigure settings for wifi connection and trying to establish connection over wifi bat the problem resist. My voip provider doesn't make any restrictions. Is there any explanation or better solution for this problem.

I find this document from year 2002. I capture the registering data and incoming call data with wireshark. I find out that my voip provider has problem with Call-ID header. While registering they answer with right Call-ID header. When I get incoming call the Call-ID header is not the same. There is no malfunction. The call is dropped with 404 not found.

Ovi Maps won't open in Nokia 700

I bought Nokia 700 2 months ago and I have been using Ovi Maps perfectly until last week, when after plugging my device in to my laptop I got a message that I should update the Maps application. I followed the instructions but there was not enough disc space, so the installation stopped. I unplugged the device and made some space, then plugged the device again and performed the update.
After that, I can use the navigation application as well as the check-in application normally, but the Maps won't open from the icon. I tried reinstalling software, reinstalling the maps, nothing. I cannot find the Ovi Maps version as the application does not appear in the Application Manager. I open the Maps settings, I can see the maps I have installed, but no info on the version.
Can anyone help?

OK, I think I solved the problem.
I had to open Ovi Store and download an update of the Ovi Maps (v3.09). It took some time but it now works fine. I couldn't find this update elsewhere, only through the Ovi store.

i used to get it sometimes, i think it must be an app that is trying to start along with the device and it might fails.
have you tried to start the phone without the memory card?
or reinstall the firmware?

Nokia 700 won't detect any headset?

I have big problem here. I am having a problem with my Nokia 700.
Whenever I connect my headset to the phone, it did not detect! I have already plug in properly.
Please help me, I need it to listen to radio!
This happens a few minutes ago, when I'm turning off the radio.
I turned the radio off, but it froze.
When I unplug the headset, I'm surprised that my handphone is still playing the radio.
After that, it stops working and this happens.
I already restart, restore and remove the battery. The software is the latest version.
However, it worked on my computer, but not my hand phone.
I bought this phone 2 weeks ago, please! Can anyone help me? Thanks.

it is good to know that your problem is solved.
but dont be too happy, you will get the problem soon.
It is not the problem of the software.
it is the problem with the connector.
Nokia is supplying the worst quality
connector in its device costing more than 16 K in India.
I too got the problem.
went to nokia care.
they said , it has to be taken to their workshop for replacement.
I am afraid of sending my brand new device
to nokia care, as they are now providing recycling facility.
that thay may replace it with any recycled material.
Any way, i lost my hard earned 16200 INR and the trust over the NOKIA.

Nokia 700 and car HF CK-7W

I have Nokia 700 and car handsfree Nokia CK-7W connected via bluetooth. The connection works fine, but there is one problem: When I connect it, the phone automatically lock the touch screen. Is there any possibility to leave the tou screen unlocked?
In my last Nokia 6300, when it was connected to the same car handsfree, the keys was unlecked... That's exactly what I need with my new Nokia 700...

and it seems to be working OK.
Of course, with the N700 having the power connector at the top instead of at the bottom, it is no longer possible to make a proper car holder which the phone just plugs into and is powered from. You have to connect a USB cable in this case.

Nokia 700 : missing many things after update..

i had some hardware issues in my nokia 700. just yesterday i received back my cell from Nokia care.
while resolving the issue, they had updated the firmware.now i am missing many things in my cell.
Fruit Ninja game, Angry Birds magic, and 3 more apps which came pre-installed are not there.
further, to make it worse, my phone now denies to play mp4 format videos, which earlier it used to play.
god know, what's more missing and i will come to know later.
