I have problem after updating the software on my nokia 701 now lot of application not working please assist. i have no backup for restow

Mass Memory Not working In my Nokia 701 !!

My mass memory is showing that it is in use even when it is not connected to any device or gadget !!
It all happened when I formatted my Mass Memory via PC in mass storage mode !!
Format was successful but when I ejected 701 from PC the Default file manager was still showing that the mass memory is in Use .
I tried everything from updating my software via Nokia Suite to re-booting my device a multiple times and also removed the battery many times and also I Hard Reset my device many times but to No avail .
Nokia care says that they Don't know what went wrong so they can't help me !!
What Should I Do now ??

Thanks for the feedback and welcome to the forum.
While you may try a hard reset on your device it is likely you will have to visit a Nokia Care Point where the device firmware will have to be reinstalled. Follow the procedure below and if this will not resolve this for you you can find a Nokia Care Point using this link.
If you have data on the 701 you wish to keep create a backup using Nokia Suite but when asked deselect the option to include settings in the backup. You can start a backup through Tools>Backup in the Nokia Suite menu.
Now disconnect your 701 from the PC and select the offline profile, press the on/off switch and from the menu which appears select and activate the profile offline.
Enter the code *#7370# followed by the security code 12345. Please be aware this reset may take a while. Your 701 will restart when finished.
After the 701 restarts go through the Device First Use sequence to setup the 701 correctly.
Now connect the 701 to your PC again and let Nokia Suite install the requires files on 701. After this (re)install the latest system update. When you go to the update screen in Nokia Suite your will either be presented by a system update or you can choose to re-install the current (up to date) version again.
After the update verify if there are any additional updates and install these as well.
After this you can restore the backup if you made one.

Unfortunately there is no possibility to downgrade. If you do an update via PC by using Nokia Suite, you can nevertheless re-install the latest version again in case you had problems. In your case, I would suggest checking other applications on the Nokia Store.

I am experiencing some problems with my Nokia 701

I am experiencing some problems with my Nokia 701.
1)While updating OS with Nokia suit its restart then phone becoming dead and need to remove battery and insert it again in order to work and i need to run without completing full update
2)I am getting "Memory full please some applications and try it again" while watching videos after each 5-10 mins where as no apps are running in the background.
3)Getting System error while loading any apps from Ovi Suit or Nokia Store after Downloading
4)Disconnecting automatically from ovi suit apps and many times not connecting with the apps while usb is still connected and ovi suit option is selected from the phone .
5)Cant download any apps from Nokia store web page getting "Downloading error)
6)Some time apps are closing automatically
7)Camera at low light without flash is not working well more bad than 2 mp Rs 3000 phones
8)Many other problem with Nokia Suit
9)Sound is too low with loud speaker lower than any other smartphones even lower than other's Nokia 701.
And its my first smartphone from Nokia
Come on Nokia please help me out

If an update failed, but you can still access the phone, do a reset. Dial *#7370# followed by 12345 if required, the phone will set to out of the box, but you'll have to set it up again manually and reinstall your apps. Before doing this, connect to Nokia Suite and update to the latest available software, then set up, you should then find everything works fine.

Nokia 701 Symbian Belle Widget problem

when i see previews of themes on nokia store, there are some widgets that i don't have on my Nokia 701 (latest software update)...for example the (3G On/Off) widget and some others too, is there any place where i can get these widgets ?

These widgets are in the latest symbian Belle firmware that comes to S^3 devices like N8, C7 ... in february.
I think newer devices like your 701 will also get a software update of Belle.

Hello,
Have somebody have the "Phone scroll : memory full, close some app" when browsing with native browser? I always receive this error message when i use more that 1 tabs, or if i only use 1 tab, i open heavy page (just like touch.facebook.com, try to scroll down for long time)
I already close all program in background, i even use third party app to close the hidden program, but this issue persist.
Does anyone know the solution of this?
I use nokia 701, with the latest FW (Belle FP1)

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.
This can be resolved with a hard reset and software update. Connect your phone to Nokia Suite and make a back up via Tools > Back up. Make sure not to tick the Settings box.
Disconnect the phone from Nokia Suite when you have created the back up and enter *#7370# into your phone, the default security code is 12345 unless you have changed this code yourself.
Now reconnect with Nokia Suite and click on the green arrow where an update will be listed. If no update is shown please reinstall the current software, this option will be displayed in blue. Once the phone has rebooted, go to Tools > Restore to restore the back up onto your phone.
This should resolve the issue, please keep me updated on your progress.

Phone doesn't display contact name - nokia 701

I facing a problem now, i'm using nokia 701, just after repair 2 weeks ago, but now still have this software problem, it doesn't display my contact name, i can't search name anymore, it always display "unnamed", even i have delete all contact and syn back from nokia suite, what shall i do?

the problem lies with your copying of the contacts
When you copied them over you may have added duplicates, if there is a duplicate in the contacts of a number the phone will not display a name as it will be confused.
You will need to go through the contacts and delete any that have duplicate numbers.

Unable to reinstall Feature Pack 1 for Nokia 701: ...

I have just upgraded my 701 to Feature Pack 1 using Nokia Suite, however, given I've had problems in the past with the Microsoft ActivSync always asking for passwords with Google I thought I'd reset the phone and reinstall from scratch.
I performed a hard reset by pressing the menu, volume down and camera keys as I turned the phone on then tried to reinstall using both Nokia Suite (beta), Nokia Suite (normal) and Nokia Software Updator. All of them say I need to insert a valid SIM card! There is nothing wrong with the SIM card that is in - it works fine. I've tried two others, one from a different network, with no success. I've changed the profiles around and turned off the security code, but still no success.
A number of applications are missing since the hard reset, notably Nokia Store, which won't install at all, either the current version or the one from betalabs. They download but the installation fails.
Any suggestions?
I've also noticed the calendar week view is no longer there, scroll bars have stopped working, and the menu key can no longer be cancelled by pressing the same bit of screen again (the new menu has been drawn too low).

As far as i know it should be missing in your phone,the photo and video editor right?
That's why i took mine to Nokia Care Center,they put the phone as out of the box.

Nokia 701 wont detect the FP1 update

Hi all,
My nokia 701 in on v111.030.0609 and when I search for an update using either nokia suite, the onboard software updater or *#0000# options search for update, it will not find the latest update which I believe is v112.010.1404. Ive been checking for the fp1 update nearly daily for months because I despriatly want the included features and the overclock to 1.3ghz.
what could be happening to not be letting my phone update and how could i get the update on it

Indian languages support for Nokia 701

How to read different Indian languages in Nokia 701, egg like Hindi or Malayalam etc. Especially in Social or other multimedia's. Now it comes as boxes. Do we need to download any software application from nokia or third party.

Feature phones like Nokia 2700, C3 00 etc can show all Indian languages including Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, etc even though with no support for typing all languages.
Nokia 701 being a smartphone, when it was released was not supporting even Hindi language, later after software update phone supported Hindi.
It would be better to support all India languages like as feature phones does. It is cool to read news websites in our native language.
Please provide this feature in fp2.

Nokia 701 - touchscreen left edge sometimes not wo...

Hi guys!
I bought brand new Nokia 701 recently in Malaysia, there were three language available: english, and two chinese,
with an old Belle OS,
then i upgraded manually to SP 1, i used firmware (Belle Feature Pack 1 v112.010.1404) with 5-6 europian languages.
so, after upgrading i start noticing that most of the time left border of touchscreen(ie QAZ letters on keyboard) is not working, however sometimes it works.
i dont realy want go to service center and spend there time, and feel that its software-issue, and can be solved by myself.
what do you think? do you guys have any idea or advice about this issue?
i couldnt find any info related to it

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
We would advise you to factory reset your device and re-install the firmware. Remember to back up your phone using Nokia Suite before reseting as it will remove all personal data on your phone.
To factory reset your phone select > Settings and Phone > Phone management > Factory settings > Delete data and restore or dial *#7370# followed by the security code 12345 (unless you have changed it).
You can re-install your firmware on Nokia Suite by selecting Tools > Software update.
If the problem persists, visit your local Nokia Care Point and let them have a look.

Nokia 701 Social app stopped working

One fine day, the Nokia Social app in my Nokia 701 simply stopped working; tapping on the icon shows the "welcome to social" screen and then goes back to previous screen. Why? Is anybody else having this problem?
I have uninstalled the app, restarted the phone and reinstalled it but the problem persists. I keep my phone software updated from time to time.
Any possible solution known to anybody?

Have you tried to perform a soft reset using the code *#7870# security code 12345 by default.
This will revert your phone settings to factory settings hwoever it will not remove any of your data.
If it doesn not work, please plug your device into Nokia Suite and reinstall the phone software. Before any steps please create a backup of your device.

Nokia 701, Battery Back Up Issue, Bluetooth issue,...

I bought nokia 701 20 days back, I found 3 issues w ith my mobile.
1. As i am transfering my files to other mobile or laptop through bluetooth the mobile says
un able to transfer.Same issue is found while receiving files through bluetooth from other mobiles also.
2.The mobile Battery absorbing so quickly with in 20 hrs, irrespective of using or un using.
I had taken it two times Nokia store and kept in abservation and said that this mobile is like this.
I was astoshined smart phones for nokia previously i had used do not act so.Nokia was not able to keep its word of stand by time with out any applications installed on it.
3.While i am backing up my phone contacts its not backing up and say memory not set.I did not found any option to found setting of memory for Back Up.
Apart from the above issues.Over all Belle nokia 701 is excellent, if above three can be resolved no other mobile could not beat nokia 701.

Yes there is a bluetooth problem. I can received the same file from my other phone but cannot with laptop.
It works with phones.
2.
Battery backup is okay for me. Don't run too many apps and leave them in background. Close them by long pressing menu key and selecting X.
3.
For backup memory card is needed.
As we go for software update or reinstall all data gets deleted. So it needs removable memory card.

Cannot find Nokia 701 Product code

I recently bought a used nokia 701 . .somehow the phone had software problem and while updating the process was interrupted after which it fails to switch on ..
On removing the battery i found the sticker stating the IMEI Product code etc is scratchy and unreadable . .Now its very difficult to update the software without the Product code . .How do i find it without the sticker and the device refuses to start . .
