Nokia 720 Problems - Need a little bit of help her...

Hi,
Few Problems with a 10 day nokia 720:-
1. Earphone volume while in a call - I can't change the earphone volume while in a call. This is very frustating. Is this a problem with my nokia 720 or is this a general issue with all 720.
2. Microphone doesn't work in certain directions, while in a sleeping pose or sometimes sitting. This has never happened to me in around 6-7 phones that I have used. Please tell me if this is a problem for my phone or device issue.
3. When I switch off mobile data connection, my overall mobile connection is lost after some time. Also I am experiencing too frequent call drops, Also my network just goes out of the picture, it just doesn't detect network. Facing a lot of issues with this,
4. Sometimes it zooms out and doesn't come back to its original position. I don't know what is the problem with this. I have to restart my phone to get back in normal position.
5. My bookmyshow app doesn't work after the update [this can be ignored ]
I expected more out of my nokia lumia but hard to say if the problems are with my phone only or for all nokia 720. Hoping for some help in this forum.
Also please tell me if nokia will change my device if this is a problem with only my device and not every device. Please help.

the screen zoom problem and mic problem is there in many phones.
hv not been able to sort mic /call drop issue, bt for zoom
the phone zooms by double tap on any screen, this is a feature in ease of access. go to settings->ease of access->screen magnifier->off.

Im very new at java programming, and need a bit of help with a problem:

I need a little bit of help if possible that is

so i got my ipod about 3 weeks ago or so and i was diconnecting it right the entire time but i left in to charge one night and my sister decided she need that port for her camera and pulled it out incorrectly at first the screen was frozen on do not disconnect but i got past that..now i have nothing on it when i go to put my music on it i get the message "The iPod "IPOD" cannot be updated. Need a little bit of help

Hi, i'm trying to make my java files runable from other machines and using the jar utility to do it. I have 10 files that get added to my jar file, and they are as follows:
Tester.class, Deck.class, Suit.class, SavitchIn.class, Player.class Card.class, Pips.class, CardSet.class, Hand.class, BlackJackHand.class
I am using this command to jar them:
D:\ITAS186T\Project1>jar cvf Tester.jar Tester.class Deck.class Suit.class SavitchIn.class Player.class Card.class Pips.class CardSet.class Hand.class BlackJackHand.class
my public static void main is in Tester.class so I modified the manifest to include Main-Class: Tester.class
now when i try to run it with this command: java -jar Tester.jar
i get this error:

Need a little bit of guidance

I need a little bit of guidance.
My plan is to make a PKGBUILD, but I've ran into a few snags. I'm trying to make PKGBUILD for ToME-223-src (Troubles of Middle Earth). But first I want to compile and install it locally so I'll have a good idea of how to make the PKBUILD right and to test it for awhile. So the PKGBUILD is something later on to worry about.
I have a bit of delimma. For some reason, the developer(s) of this game have the binary for it to use suid (I'm not sure their reasoning since I'm not a very experience programmer). Fortunately, in the makefile, it uses the variable OWNER=games by default. This is what is responsible for setting the ownership of all of the files when "make install" is ran appearantly. This presents a few challenges.
When you get to the point of where you make install it, it's install rule wants to recursively run chown on all the files being installed like a nice and tidy makefile does. So if you're not logged in as root when you do the "make install" it gets choked up a bit and doesn't copy/install all the files. So a regular user account doesn't generally have needed privileges to run chown and it has to be assumed when someone is going to install my tentative package they won't either.
Another delimma is that since it wants to utilize suid, this creates the necessity of a regular user account to be the owner of these files (I don't like the idea of this game running with root privileges personally). We don't want root ownership on whatever files have their suid bit set I would think. So this will require the making of the appropriate user. Again, this usually requires high enough privileges by the person building.
This of course could be solved by using useradd in the build function, and the having builder being logged on as root when they makepgk, but I really don't like that nor feel it's a very kosher approach.
Any idea of how I can come up with an elegant solution to this? How is this sort of situation normally handled with ABS?

If a package needs chown on install, or a new user created, this is typically done in the .install script. When pacman installs the pakcage, the .install script is run as root.
Based purely on your description, my suggestion would be to skip the make install stage, and use install commands in the PKGBUILD to put the files in the right places. In the .install script, create the required user and associated permissions.

Novice in need of a bit of help

The last time I put together a website was with Frontpage, so
this is the first time i've attempted to do serious work in DW.
I'm currently at a stage where i've done the website layout
in PS, have sliced it up in IR and am editing it in DW. I've also
done a Flash menu that i'm trying to integrate into DW.
I've run into a number of problems though:-
1. I can't seem to move the images around in DW - the center
of the website will be taken up by a white portion (where all the
text will go) and i've tried to delete that and put it back in as a
background image. But when I do that, the image that's directly
below it (a grey bar for the bottom of the website) get's pushed
up. I can't seem to move any of the images around. Is there a way
of locking all of the images, bar the one that's currently
selected, that I don't want to immediately move around (e.g. with
different layers in PS)?
2. When I try to import the Flash menu into DW, I can't move
it around either. It just sits in the spot it was inserted in.
Additionally, I can't find a way of giving the Flash menu a
transparent background. I just need the Flash buttons to sit over
the background image. Is that something I need to correct in Flash
or can I do that in DW?
3. When I eventually get the Flash menu sitting nice and
pretty on top of the background image, how do I link the Flash
buttons to the different pages?
4. How do I insert a pdf d/l function into the website?
There'll be a tonne of documents on there (it's for a small
accounting firm) and the client wants the ability to offer some of
the documents as pdf downloads.
Any help/advice'd concerning these issues would be greatly
appreciated, thanks.

While this is not surprising, it's a VERY bad start. One
should never use
HTML written by a graphics program for 'serious' work. It's
fragile, and
poorly formed, and will break at the slightest provocation.
I'd guess that
in excess of 20% of all the posts here are directly related
to the use of
such HTML.
In addition, Flash menus are bad business. You create a
monster for
yourself, since DW will not manage the links in that menu, in
the event that
files are named or moved from their current location. They
are also
inaccessible to those using screen assistive devices, and are
just downright
bad.

You are suffering from a well-known disease, called "trying
to build HTML
pages without knowing HTML", often also called "trying to use
an HTML
authoring program as if it were Microsoft Word". I'm not
trying to be
snarky here. You will just need to learn some HTML. When you
do this, you
will quickly discover that HTML doesn't allow you to just put
things on the
page as if it were a graphics program, or a printed page
layout program.

See above. Also, to make Flash transparent is a trick. You
can use the
Flash
wmode parameter (however, Safari does not support this
properly!).

You have to do this in Flash, not HTML - another good reason
not to use
Flash Buttons.

Zip them, and link to the zipped document as you would to any
other file.
You can force a download, but that would require
server-scripting that I

Little bit of help with the duplication process needed

I trying to duplicate a database from one server to a remote server. They are both running windows server 2003 (my first problem) , the primary server is running oracle 11gR1 and the (hopefully) receiving server is running 11gR2(is that going to be a problem?) and I'm a little stuck on some parts of the process.

I changed the local domain to host for business reasons
The next step was to create a initialization parameter file which I am guessing is a pfile and hopefully not a spfile. It then says to only enter one param db_name and the conversion params if the filesystem is diffrent. Problem is I don't know what to do with this file, if I am suppose to switch the second database to this file then surly I would need some more params? Anyway thats the first of many questions.
When I try to run through the rman commands it describes it also trips up:

2) I am pretty sure my listener and tsunamis config is completely wrong so can I have some pointers on fixing that?
3) Was the reason I could not connect to the receiving database my tns and listener config or is it something else?
Quite a few other questions but untill I know some more about the above I doubt I will be able to ask properly.
Also if this helps the book I am using is Expert Oracle Database 11g Administration and the page is 835(the method that begins on that page) and I am willing to write out the whole method if you need more details.
Oh and if you havent figured it out I am very new to this so if some of this sounds very wrong or just stupid just say what I need to change and I will get right on it.

So I am not quite sure what it wants. I read somewhere about a password file but I don't understand how it will help, also most things I have looked at wernt clear on how to do it. I took a stab anyway:

Was run on the original database host.
File was then copied to "F:\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\database" on the receiving database's host it was then renamed to PWDcgard.ora as there was file there already with that name.
It did not help(same error).
The book I am using mentions the 'PASSWORD FILE' param to be used with the duplicate command but I cant find a example on how to use it so any help with that would be great.

Nokia 7373 I need a quick bit of advice

I ordered a Nokia 7373 from my cataloge on the 02.03.07 after been promised it since the 12th it has arrived today. I opened the boy put in the sim card and the battery, went to turn the phone on .... nothing! So I put the phone on charge the instruction book states it might take a few min for the charging notice to come up.
I left the phone and went and picked up the kids from school over an hour later still no charging notice. Tryed to turn phone on..... nothing tryed again........ lit up vibrated stayed on Nokia start up screen then turned it self off. Do I Just need to let it charge more or am I going to have to send it back and wait another month. Any advise would be great.

I am ready to throw this phone, I think I am going to have to send it back. I have managed to get the charge to show again but i dont want to move the phone incase it stops charging again. I have tryed to turn it on I got nokia start up white screen saying nokia then it goes all white then it turns its self off. I have had a lot of mobile phones I only bought my last one at christmas I get board easy. I have donated it to my husband who has had about 3 mobile phones since we have been together 12yrs ago. bless him. I just dont think I am ment to have this chew on I think it needs looking at so I am going to cry as I am never without a mobile.

Just A Little Bit of Help Needed...

Hi.
My movie was edited in Final Cut Express 4. It's a web movie that will also be repurposed for DVD. I'll also have it duplicated at DiscMakers. In FCE, I applied a deinterlace filter. I make sure it's deinterlaced when it's exported so it plays great on YouTube and Facebook.
Now that I'm ready to burn this to a DVD using iDVD, I have a few questions.
1. Do I remove the deinterlace filter from FCE and send the interlaced footage right to iDVD by using export QuickTime movie?
2. Can I apply copy protection to this project in iDVD?
3. If iDVD doesn't allow for it, can it be applied at a place like DiscMakers from my provided DVD?
4. Can I sell my DVD that I produced with iDVD and not have to worry about copyright issues with apple templates?

Doesn't seem like you'd need to, but I'd make a small project and test it both ways.

No, but you could add a watermark to the movie in FCE, and to the menus in iDVD. You could also put the FBI warning at the beginning/end of the video, and/or copyright the material and mark it as such.

Check with them -- it's my understanding that the protection can be created when DVDs are pressed.

I've not seen that issue addressed (I'd start by searching the forums). Perhaps get it in writing from Apple or use your own images to change to your own theme (I'm just offering ideas here; I have no legal background nor do I know what's on the rest of your DVD).

Need a tiny bit of help please!

Hey guys,
I have a full set of renders for a character. At this time I
have a 3 point stand and an 8 point walk motion. Basically 3
separate images for standing and 8 separate images for walking.
I want to use AS3 and have the character standing and doing
the 3 point animation. Then I want to make him walk via user
control with the 8 walk images.
To this point I have searched everywhere for a tutorial on
how to do this but all I end up finding is for artists and how to
draw the animations. But like I said, I have the animation images,
I just need to learn how to implement them into flash.
In the end to learn this, all I want to do is to properly
encorperate the images into flash so that I can do a test movie and
have the character doing his stand animation and then when I press
left or right have him do the walk animation. From there I will go
onto collision and whatever I feel like learning at that time.
Right now, just getting a standing animation and a user controlled
walk would be great.
Could anybody point me towards a good tutorial on how to do
this?

A lot of the avi files made on Windows machines use variable bit rate mp3 audio, which QT will not play. One workaround is to use this freeware Windows video processor to change the format of the avi audio.

Open the avi in VirtualDub, set the video menu to Direct Stream Copy and set the audio to Full Processor Mode. Then choose either uncompressed audio in the compression item in Audio Menu or IMA audio. Now open the avi and then use Save as Avi in the File menu. The video will be passed through with no change to the new avi but the audio will be changed to the new compression setting. The two compression types I mentioned will play in QT Player with no problem. You will need to have the video codec for the avi in Video for Windows form. If you can play the avi in Windows Media Player you have the right codec already.

A little bit of help with arrays

Hi guyz
I have a problem regarding reading and processing element of an array. I have a "Reference Base Generator" and for example I generate a sine wave. Then I use "Get waveform components" to get the data from the graphic, after this i have a 1-D array of data (right?) at the output of the "Get waveform component' bloc. I need to read every element, process it and then send it as a value further to a function input. So, how can i get every element of that array and send it further ?
I hope I was clear with my problem.
It would be great if you could provide me with some help.

New here but in need of a bit of help....

my problem is basically the amount of duplicates i have in my library and the fact that i am unable to delete them properly. My whole library seems to be duplicated at least once sometimes twice.... and i was hoping there might be a program or technique to organise the library instead of going through the whole thing one by one?
After owning a 1st gen Nano for many years i have just purchased a touch and want to get it loaded up. However after a hard drive crash and then a recovery disc upload, another nano being synced etc etc my library is a real jumble!

Do you know about the Show Duplicates feature?
Also, sorting by the Date Added will often group things together, for instance if you dragged a whole folder into itunes one day and it made many of the duplicates happen - they will all be grouped together for easier deletion

Need a quick bit of help using Terminal

I have something simple I want to do with Terminal but I am obviously doing it wrong!
I want to change the format of screen grabs (I have to do a ton of them at work and I'm tired of re-saving PNGs as JPGs).
I've read I need to type the line into Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg
So I did. Then I logged out and logged back in to my computer (just for good measure? I dunno). It's still saving my screen grabs as PNGs.
It's got to be something simple that I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance for any help!

As an easy way to change the user interface aspect of Finder to save
screenshots as jpg instead of png, I've used OnyX from Titanium
Software, a free running interface utility that can so several things.
{Not that I got it to do that, but found the extra options it allows can
be of some use, outside of the chance you could really mess up
the OS if you mis-use some aspects of this kind of utility.}
While there is a way, & someone had posted how to change it
in terminal (in single user mode, etc) I do not remember all that
because I use OnyX for general maintenance every so often &
have it in my computers. There is a version for your Mac's OS...
