Nokia 7360 Withholding Callers Numbers

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me with this please.
When I receive calls, all that appears on my display is "(no number)" so I haven't a clue who is phoning me. I understand that some people do withhold their number, but this is happening with every single call I receive, even from my house phone which I'm 100% certain doesn't withhold the number.
Is there anyway to change this in the phone settings? I can't seem to find anything about this.

If happening on all calls however it may be that Calling Line Identity Presentation is switched off. To check this key in *#30#(Call). If it comes back stating CLI not shown then contact your network and ask them to activate.
Alternatively, to test whether a phone or sim issue, try your sim in another phone - if same problem then a network issue.

PDADemo Not working in Nokia 7360

Hello all,
i run the PDAdemo application on nokia 7360....
when i try to open file browser it gives application error.
and
when i try to open the option of JSR75 PIM API like
contact list,eventlist,to-do list then it gives an error Alert.......
Is there any problem with mobile or i miss any other setting ...
i have already check the MIDP and CLDC version and it is correct.
Is there any problem with using PIM API in series 40 devices .

What software versions does the device currently have? (you can see this by dialing *#0000#)
Have you tried updating the device software (see http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/other/nokia-software-updates)? The latest SW version for X2-02 is 11.57, which should also feature Nokia Browser 2.0.

Nokia 2310 suddenly displaying numbers only instea...

I was a happy user of a Nokia 2310 for 12 months. It was set to show the caller's name on the screen rather the number, for callers yet registered in the directory.
But suddenly it doesn't do that anymore: only the numbers, I have to look each time to whom the number applies to know who is trying to call me !
Has anybody an idea of what to do in such a case? The only thing I did just before the problem occured is copying all the telephone directory on the Sim card.
When I saw there was a problem, the first thing I did then is erasing the directory from the Sim card then. But nothing changes. I made a factory reset as well without success.
If anybody knows the solution to that, I would be very grateful.

When a callers number is shown instead of the name you had for the caller it usually means that you have the same number on two or more contacts. This can be either in phone memory or sim memory. Go through your phone book and check if this is true.
Another option you might like to try is to set the selected memory for the phonebook (contacts) to either SIM only or Phone only and not SIM and Phone. The fastes option is Phone memory.
My suggestions is to back your contacts up by copying them to the SIM card but you keep the selected memory for the phone book set to Phone only.
On my phone I select this by going :
Menu -> Contacts -> Settings -> Memory in use -> Phone

Nokia 7360

this phone is absolutely fantastic.
i'd like to buy it 'cause now the price is lower (something like 150 euro) than before but...
there's no bluetooth; memory is only 4 mb; VGA camera is surely worst than one of 2 or 3 megapixel but (even if it's not the real problem).
...maybe i'll wait and see if nokia invents a new edition of 7360.
can anybody suggest me what to do? maybe there's someone who knows nokia's future planning... Is the new version expected to come?

The reason why the 7360 is so affordable is because it is lower spec'd than newer phones.
Nokia will not make a revised 7360 with better features at the same price.

Withholding Tax Numbering

Hi all,
I get an error message when I execute transaction code: S_P00_07000134 - Generic Withholding Tax Report
The system shows the error message as following.
... A number could not be determined for numbering group TH1153

Could you please kindly help me to find out what the problem is?

Try this as it solved my issue:
go to SNRO....enter object name as with_ctn01 and maintain number range for this object (maintain upto 12).this number range will be different what you have maintained.

Nokia 6070 broken screen; numbers stored to phone.

I've broken my screen and my numbers are stored to my phone rather than my SIM.
Can someone please tell me what buttons to press so as to copy my numbers to my SIM so as to retrieve them.

The menu structures may be different in some models, for instance regional or network variations, so the best way is to back up to a computer using PC Suite. That way, the only time you need to press a button on the phone is when you first connected it, and you just press the select key to choose PC Suite/Nokia mode on the phone.

Why does my phone show "blocked" instead of callers numbers

Many thanks for all your help before, i have now had a chance to read most of the manual but I am having calls showing "blocked", I have never blocked any calls, are my callers hiding their number?
It is not life threatening but very annoying, any help from anyone again would be greatly appreciated.

Try going to Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID, if your email address is select here select your phone number instead.

Nokia 6288 "recently used" numbers?

Hi, when I go to the "recently used" numbers on my phone (when sending a text, for instance), it seems to save all numbers that have ever been associated with that contact - so if someone gets a new number, I need to be careful and make sure I select the right one. I've tried deleting the contact altogether and re-adding them, but it STILL keeps a record of all the past numbers. I'd rather not have to change contacts' names every time I have to change their numbers - is there anything else I can do?

You can delete number from the Recently used list. Go to Menu->Log->Message recipients for more on that.

Nokia C6:Missed calls numbers disappeared

Today I got 2 missed calls on my Nokia C6 but when I clicked it to view the number from where the missed call came, it was not present in my missed calls list. I could not find out the number. Please help!!

I finally got my C6-00 call log working again! I want to document my finding here, just in case some detail could be useful to anyone else.
The short story: Go into the Configuration menu (green button > Options > Configuration > Log duration) and set it to "No log". Then go back to your preferred duration.
Behavior my phone exhibited before I got it fixed:
Upon entering the Call log, the screen displayed "Retrieving Data", but that was all. No data. Sometimes I could switch between tabs, sometimes not.
I could enter the Call log, but could not exit it. The only way to close it was to switch to another program, select Options > Show open apps and close it from there.
The phone showed the "someone has tried to call you" if I missed a call, but pressing it just sent me to the described situation above.
It seemed to me that the battery was draining a little faster, but I'm not really sure.
Methods suggested here and other forums that I tried but did NOT work:
Turning the phone off and on again
Updating the firmware
Resetting the phone
Restoring the phone to factory settings
Turning it off and taking the battery out for a while
Turning it off and taking the battery and the SIM card out, and let it cool for about an hour or so...
EXACTLY what I finally did:
I was giving another try to the "taking-the-battery-and-SIM-card-out" method, but instead of just let it that way for a while, I put on the battery and turned it on without the SIM card. The phone showed "Disconnected" status.
I went to the Call log. No data, but I could navigate the tabs more freely.
Changed the Log duration to "No log".
NOTE: This step always seemed nonsense to me before, as I was trying to get my calls logged, not disabling the log (just like Lightning McQueen, turning right to go left...)
The phone warned me of having all my log data erased permanently. I accepted.
After this step, tabs displayed the message "No data" and the app could exit normally.
So, I went to the Log duration option and put it back to "30 days".
I made a call, and receive a call and they were logged. Now the phone is working normally again.
I don't thing it is necessary to do it exactly as I did, but I wrote it all down, just in case what it says in "the short story" above don't work for you. BTW, sorry for the length of this post.

No service, sim not provisioned, copy numbers from old phone to iPhone!!!

As Apple don't provide any sort of useful instruction manual with the iphone here are the probs and answers I encountered with my iPhone 3GS.

1st problem is that my old Nokia had far more numbers stored on it than on the Sim card alone, so having received and opened box of iPhone with new sim card I switched off my old Nokia phone, removed old sim card, replaced it with new sim card and copied contents to new card, then ejected new card from old phone and fitted in new iPhone.
NOTE: You will need to have an iTunes account set-up.
From the main menu in the iPhone select 'settings' > 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars', then scroll down & click on 'Import SIM contacts'. The numbers should be copied from your sim to your iPhone which stores the numbers on its memory rather than the SIM. - I looked for hours before discovering this!
If you have more numbers on your old phone, then be careful to select numbers from phone / sim which is in the 'phone book' > 'settings' >'Memory in use' because you can more numbers from phone to sim and similarly protect numbers from deletion by moving them to the phone memory.
It took me three chip moves from phone memory from Nokia to iPhone before all the numbers were moved.
Note that text messages are NOT transferred from Nokia to iPhone via sim.

Not able to connect to the rest of the world or SIM not provisioned may be down to you not switching your phone off properly, no thanks to the rubbish instruction manual with the iPhone where they assume you know where everything is!
Anyone looking for help on this subject, look to the button located on the top of the phone at the right, and hold it down until you see the message 'slide to power off' the slide your fingers of the message from left to right until the phone switches off.
This advice posted by my own problems with using the iPhone for the first time today.
Having played around with the settings for a few hours I need to make comment that the iPhone is light years ahead of its competition.

Yes, TPS is not used by companies outside the UK and quite a few UK companies ignore it. (See this article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/10989292/Telephone-Preference-Service-fails-to-block-cold-calls.html). We get many annoying calls every day, some of them have caller ID from numbers which might be valid, many of them have made-up rubbish numbers like '000010' - obviously not real caller ID. Many others withhold their numbers. I have found one of the best things was to prevent our phones from giving a ringtone for any international or withheld number (some handsets allow you to do this). Sounds drastic but any legitimate caller can leave a message or contact us another way, if they don't, it probably isn't a call I care about. Banks, doctors, hostiptals, schools etc can leave messages to call them back or write if it's important. We still often get the blank automated messages though and have to wade through and delete them every week.

Right Corner numbers on 5800

Address Book Updation Application runs successufully but problem in runing

I develop a small application which updates the contact numbers from the Adress Book. and for that i use PIM API....
i sotre some number in following folder
appdb\DefaultColorPhone\pim\contacts\Contacts
now when i run my application it successfully updates all number..
but when i try this application on Nokia 7360 the application is install correctly and run also correclty but it does not updates any number...
I use Infrared to transfer the application from my PC to Mobile....
And i also check the PIM suport in the device ..The device support the PIM 1.0
I can not able to find the problem ....Can any one help me to solve the problem?.....

Could you please check the Sharing &permissions of these two folders (command +I). Check to see if you have "Read&Write access to these folders. It should be your user name with read&write privileges.
     You will have to open the lock on the bottom right and it will request the admin password. Should your name not be there, select it by clicking on the plus sign on the bottom right and selecting your user name. Select Read&Write privilege and under the gear wheel beside the plus and minus signs,Make sure you apply to enclosed items.
      It sounds like you somehow got them buggered. Rebuilding the permission table should of cleared up the problem. This could be a case of booting with your install DVD and rebuilding permissions from there.
                                                        Food for thought.
Next time you even think of modifying anything in you user library, Duplicate the whole folder and then you have a reference to go by. Just make sure that it is deleted after you are finished. This should be a standard step when troubleshooting. Changing something.....make a copy.

"Application Error" While running application in real device

My application is running well in wireless toolkit Emulator..
I dont know why this is happining on real device?...
