Nokia 7370 vibration problem

Hi
i have just bought a new nokia 7370, but the vibration only seems to work on the ring and messages when it is in silent mode, despite me obviously setting it to on in all other profiles such as general and outdoor. I never hear my phone so will now miss loads of calls!
any ideas? thanks

DI dont have this fone but assume it has profiles which can be found under settings.
Enter into that and select profiles.
choose one and highlist personalise and in this you should find a vibrating alert selection. Turn it to on.
If after this it still does not work then it may be a visit to your local nokia repair centre.

Hi,
I'm having an issue with my phone vibrating about every 6 minutes. This seems to have only happened after I added a calendar entry. I've since deleted that entry and now still the phone vibrates once every 6 minutes or so.

I am also experiencing this. altho i dont think it is a problem but it is misleading. I have a afew apps installed and a couple of functions set up to do 'auto syncing'.the main app being google maps with latitude turned on all the time. this periodically uploads location data. other are contact syncs and one is nokia 'update check'.
Ive noticed that when ever my handset vibrates, the internet connection symbol is present on the screen.
I can not tell for certain if this is why it is doing it but its the only thing i can think of?

NOKIA N79 VIBRATION PROBLEM

NOKIA N78 VIBRATING PROBLEM

Hi...
I got a problem with my new Nokia N78.
The vibration alert is not working???
Change the vibrate alert on also change the profile settings to ON but still no vibrate alert.
Do I have a faulty phone? or am I doing something wrong?
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. ^_^

Mine had that problem on the very first day (before the update came out) and it did vibrate on startup but not on silent profile with vibration "on".
But after I had it turned off and back on it started working.
I always wondered what may have caused that, I haven´t updated until today and the problem hasn´t showed since...

Today I'm buyed a new and original HS-31 phone headset, but when I connect this headset to my Nokia 7370 phone, the headset is very in undertones to run. I'm barely hear anything (radio or a call).
What's the problem????

Hi Bungaroosh,
You have presented with certainly an unique situation. I suspect that first of all, the reason the website you rely on opens on your friend's Samsung is that a lot of websites out there have updated their support for more current web development standards....which for some older browsers accessing their websites can cause compatibility/rendering issues. I suspect that the company will want to cater for as many of their customers, and the number of users using severly outdated browsers numbers in the minority.
Firmware updates for the older DCT-4 phones such as your 6230i were only able to be performed via Nokia Care points. I enquried about updating my 7710 a while or so ago, and got the rather flat answer that my device was so old that they no longer had the equipment to update it. I suspect it would be the same in your case.
Not too sure that the HS-10 headset would be compatible with any of the newer Nokia's. There are a number of cheap Nokia newer headsets out there that would work with many of today's newer phones.
I understand your need for a phone that just does phone calls and texts, and the occasional train line check. I would recommend a phone such as the Nokia 110, but since it is using WAP 1.1, am unsure as to how much support it would have with today's websites. A safer bet is to use an Asha phone such as the 202, 203, 300, that has support for the newer websites. These you can get on the cheap these days anyway. And they will all pretty much play MP3's.
The 6230i is a seven year old phone, be proud that you extracted that much usage out of it . There are many newer options out there these days, and maybe there's a bit of a learning curve, but keep your mind open....you could be very pleasantly surprised by the features you gain and enjoy!

Nokia 7370 Power Saving Problems

Hi Everyone
I just got my nokia 7370 (the gold swivel one from the l'amour collection) and I'm having a minor problem.
When the phone is inactive it isn't displaying the date and time on a black screen as it should in power saving mode.
Power saving mode is switched on in settings but it isn't working.
Can anyone help me with this?

well my operator (Videotron) here in Canada, i can only connect via 3G for calling therefore i sort of need 3G to make and receive calls, otherwise it's like being in Offline mode!
so i can understand this person's issue.
As i have the same problem.
Basicly whenever my phone activates Powersaving, it literally disconnects me from the network (no longer able to make and receive calls)

Nokia 5300 vibrator not working

My nokia 5300 which is 4 months old has vibrator problem . It does not work . Enabling in profile does not help. Pls suggest if it is HW or SW problwm and how to fix it

I believe there's a problem on the vibrator piece itself - maybe it's faulty?
I suggest you to send the phone to the Nokia Care Center and let them do the rest. You do not have to pay anything for this since I assume that the phone still does have a warranty intact onto it. - Just show them your warranty card and invoice if necessary.

Nokia 6600i Speaker problems!

i love this phone but my god... what's wrong with the speaker?
When i play music through the music player it's insanely loud, which is perfect! but when i recieve a text message or someone calls me, the volume is very low... i have put everything on max and for some reason it doesn't fix the problem.
Music player: speaker is loud
Someone calling me: speaker is low
is this a bug within the firmware? will this be fixed? did i just waste my money?

This Nokia 6600i I would say is NOKIA FAILURE PRODUCT sold in the market. I sold my Motorola Rokr Z6 to get this piece of worth less phone. I've regret purchasing this Nokia useless phone. My Motorola Rokr Z6 was much better than Nokia 6600i. Only set back was the smaller screen size. That's why I change to Nokia 6600i
If Nokia can make so many phone, they MUST BE ABLE to solve this volume & vibrator problem. Dont ever tell me Symbian 40 cant make ringtone volume louder. If Nokia can produce Nokia 7230 (running on Symbian 40) with such LOUD ringtone, why cant 6600i. I like 6600i for its design and large screen with slim profile. But now I'm going back to Motorola no matter even Nokia can make the volume louder in their upcoming model.
Previously Nokia care for their customer. Now seems like they wanna make money with new model every month...
By the way, Nokia personnel, are you reading all messages in dicussion forum?

Vibration Problems with N97?

Hi,
Does any one else have this problem that the Nokia N97 vibrates normally at all levels at times, and completely stops vibrating otherwise? It acts this way without any warning, just stops vibrating all of a sudden ?

Nokia 7370 - Music won't transfer

I have the Nokia 7370. I have installed the PC Suite (updated one) and when I want to transfer my music it says that the Nokia 7370 is not supported.

Nokia 7370, No Network Access?

Hi, Wondering if anyone could help please? Just won a Nokia 7370 of Club Nokia a few week ago and it was working fine up to a few days ago. I am on O2 but all of a sudden i have no network access. My sim card is not at fault as it works in my old 5140i and I rang O2 but they said they couldn't have locked my phone. When I search for newtworks I pick up others except my home network but I am still not able to access these. Anyone have any ideas please? Is there a fault with the 7370? Thanks

hmmm... o2 locked a phone on me once, because they misread an email I sent - they thought it said I hadn't received it, when I actually said I had to go to the delivery office and collect it myself...
Anyway, try another o2 sim card in there and see if you can get on.

IMac with intel chip won't pair with Nokia 7370

I was trying to pair my Nokia 7370 with my iMac and got nowhere. Neither device "sees" the other.
Both are set up to be visible
Both have their bluetooth turned on
I attempted to initiate the pairing from the computer and from the phone--no luck on either.
I was able to pair the phone with a BT headset, so I know the phone's bluetooth works with some things.
I was also able to pair the computer with a windows machine, so that works sometimes as well.
Any ideas?

Someone really needs to write a full tutorial on this. Your switch to the intel Mac changes everything. This is brief by point.
1) AVI containers are usually hiding DivX and XviD codecs. Download and install the latest for your intel Mac to allow your Quicktime Player to play those files.
2) WMV files have a few options: install WMV9 (unsupported for Mac); Popwire components for Quicktime (local files only): F4M public components (requires a Rosetta install and/or Rosetta functioning players/browsers; F4M beta universal. My preference is the last option, which allows both local files and web files to play native on your Quicktime Player.
Everything outlined above is available in these forums and will get you up to speed.

Nokia 5800 screen problems when unlocking

When I unlock my phone, I get horizontal and/or vertical lines - I can't use the phone during this time, because the display is so badly affected!
After about 5-10 seconds, the home screen will show perfectly normal. When I either lock the phone, or lock it manually, then unlock it a few minutes later the lines come back again!
Is this a hardware or software fault? If it is a software fault, how can I resolve this annoying problem?

I have exactly the same fault on my 5800 to the point where the phone is completely unusable.
Used the "Contact Us" facility 5 days ago - still waiting for a reply/acknowledgment.
I bought the phone in mid February so it was quite an early release model, V11 frimware, but the screen fault was there early on but only very occassionally. Had the phone updated to V20 but the problem was still there. However it got progressively worse until the phone became unusable. The screen can only be restored by powering off and on again but once the screen has gone into saver mode it cannot be restored via the unlock button, or any other means other than a power down.
Sent the phone to the Nokia "Anovo" repair centre only to have it returned 10days later with exactly the same fault as I sent it in with. The return advice note stated that details of the repair would be found on the enclosed letter - there was no enclosed letter. The return form states that all phones sent in would be automatically updated to the latest firmware - mine wasn't, even though Nokia notified me 2 weeks previously to inform me that there was an update for my phone.
Rang Nokia Care last week, (Thursday) to be told that someone would contact me by phone, (borrowed phone obviously, as I had stated my 5800 was unusable). Friday and I had not been contacted. Rang again Friday morning 10.30am only to be told someone would contact me. Left a contact phone number again. Friday afternoon - still no contact so rang again. This time I was informed that someone should have told me that I wouldn't be contacted until Monday as thet were all "Very Busy" - I wonder why. Today, Monday afternoon stil no one has been in contact so I suppose I am going to have to go through the whole routine again.
I am very close to the point where I am going to give up and demand a refund for an item that is clearly "Not of Merchantable Quality" or "Fit for Purpose" which would be a shame as when it worked I was really pleased with it. I bought the phone outright so I have no contract redress so am completely in the hands of Nokia. I know that Nokia is a very large company and I am but a single customer but from all the forums I have lookes at since this saga started I am driven to believe that the 5800 is causing Nokia some serious problems.
If I do finally get some acknowledge from Nokia I will inform this forum.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, set it up as new device: Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
If still no luck, get it checked by an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple:
