Nokia 7373 - Broken Screen , Trouble Looking for p...

I broke my Nokia 7373's screen and i've been to several nokia centers to get it fixed but they don't have the parts for it.
Any good advice? Getting a new phone is not an option cause i just got the Nokia 5800 and just want to get the 7373 fixed.

your only option in that case is to wait as you will void your warranty if you decide to go another way to fix your phone screen.

What seems to be unfair is I can buy that motherboard directly from HP in the USA as you saw, but for whatever reason you can't buy it directly from HP in the UK.
I still think you would be better off checking out what related notebooks may be for sale out there on eBay UK.
I buy all my PC's on eBay in used condition for great bargains. I do limit myself to the business PC's and notebooks that HP makes, however.

Nokia 6280 broken screen

Through 3 I purchased a new 6280. Within days it fell out of my pocket with the result of a broken screen (only a minor crack but screen display completely gone). Would appreciate any advise on how to get it fixed or how to source a new screen?

I said TRS are a main repair agent for 3, I never said if they are good or not. Having been in the trade for more than a few years most of the big repair hubs are a bit useless. TRS do sometimes give prefferential rates to help 3 customers stay on line.
CRC are not without their problems either. Seen the mobile press recently ? What a really shocking state of affairs, but then again I'm not shocked, I always knew they were bad, it's just taken ages and ages to make it public knowledge.
Then there's MPRC in Stoke, then again part of Caudwell, so enough said.
The only ones I would trust with my own Nokia if I had to are some of the smaller independants or perhaps Intec in North London.

Nokia 6111 Broken Screen - Turn on Bluetooth

I am yet another person with a Nokia 6111 with a broken screen. I have read through multiple foums and found lots of people asking the same question:
What key strokes do I need to turn on Bluetooth?
Remebber: I can not see the screen, so your instructions will need to be something like this:
Center button (opens menu)
Down x3 (Settings)
Select
Down x2 (Connectivity)
Select (etc)
** NOTE: THE ABOVE IS NOT CORRECT - THIS IS AN EXAMPLE! **
If you can exaplin what each stage is doing so much the better.
Once I have turned Bluetooth on I plan on connecting to PC Suite to copy contacts - if you are able to check what I need to do to set up and accept a new connection then I would be REALLY grateful!

It may be easier to transfer your contacts if you get a data cable.

Nokia N80 Firmware Update Question - Looking for F...

Hi,
I've been looking for the latest Nokie N80 internet edition firmware. I know that the firmware version 5.0719.0.2 has been released but when I try to update my phone using Nokia Software Update program it tells me that my phone has the latest version.
My phone firmware version is V 4.0623.0.42, released 20/09/2006, RM-92, Nokia N80 (85.01). Does anyone know where and how can I update my phone with the latest version? Thanks.

I have an N80 which I was able to update a few months ago to 4.0632.0.38 (Which added all the Internet and Browser updates provided for the N80IE) then when I heard version 5 was out I tried, but no use, and since then it always says I have the latest version.
I bought a SIM Free model from Expansys UK so it's not a operator issue, not sure why it's stuck on version 4. Emailed Nokia Support a few weeks ago but heard nothing back

Nokia 6070 broken screen; numbers stored to phone.

I've broken my screen and my numbers are stored to my phone rather than my SIM.
Can someone please tell me what buttons to press so as to copy my numbers to my SIM so as to retrieve them.

The menu structures may be different in some models, for instance regional or network variations, so the best way is to back up to a computer using PC Suite. That way, the only time you need to press a button on the phone is when you first connected it, and you just press the select key to choose PC Suite/Nokia mode on the phone.

Nokia 5610 broken screen

So I've had this phone for a little bit over a month. Never dropped it, the screen protector thing is still on there. Last night I talked to my sister for a minute on the phone then placed the phone on my desk. 5 minutes later, I picked up the phone, slide it open and tried to check the time, only to find out that the screen is dead. Full of dead pixels. About 1/4 of the left part of the screen is in one color and the rest of the screen is in a different colors (sort of like this http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3063/2590553731_9a8ce155d2.jpg?v=0). Again, I have never dropped the phone, never got water inside the phone, never exposed it to extreme weather conditions, the sticker behind the phone is still white. So what happened here and what should I do? This is my first Nokia phone in 8 years and I am extremely disappointed.

Absolutely, as you say, it's all the way you use it and if you use it correctly nothing should happen; that's precisely the issue!
When many users complain about a problem, then its a design or a material fault, not a user's fault. And the most idiot thing is when a mobile operator knows, acknowledges and solves the problem and the maker doesn't (even when in their forum people complain about the problem). Then you have a serious customer experience issue !!

Nokia 6060 - Broken Screen, Need Numbers

The screen of my 6060 is broken, however the phone itself (menus etc) are still ok - I just can't see the display. I'm about to get a new phone, and need to transfer my numbers from the phone to my SIM.
I was wondering if another 6060 owner would be able to list the step-by-step button commands that are required so that I can transfer all contacts to my SIM card.

Nokia 6263 broken screen can't find file transfer ...

Hi, I recentely broke the screen on my Nokia 6263 and I installed PC suite in order to chcek text messages for this reason. However, it says that my phone is in file transfer mode and I was wondering if anybody could give me a step by step to turning off file transfer. choose either one, once in, you have two option, first: FROM PHONE TO SIM, 2nd: FROM SIM TO PHONE, if u select the first one, it asks : move contacts? press center to answer YES, and wait, it may takes a while, i did with 60 contacts, in about 20 seconds.
by default, in grid mode, the upper center icon is the contacts.

My daughter has a six month old 6111 ,the screen is broken (she sat on it in work ) Am I right in thinking that this wont be covered by the warranty..if so is it worth getting repaired ??

It might be worth giving your local service centre a call for a quote just in case it's an economical repair.

Startup trouble - looking for startup disk

I've been experiencing occasional start up trouble for a few weeks, where my iMac takes a long time on the startup phase (getting stuck on a blank gray screen), and on 3 occasions it has just come up with a folder with blinking question mark (can't find startup disk) icon. When this happens, I hold my breath and manually restart, and so far it's then started right up (knock on wood). But obviously this is worrisome.
I did recently swap out some RAM (trading out one card from 1GB to 2GB), and since the Apple store no longer carries the appropriate RAM for my iMac (fall 2006), I can to buy it elsewhere, but that seemed to go fine... could it have affected my startup?
Another, probably unrelated issue, is that when I do start up successfully, or even come up from sleep, the computer now makes a big POP sound. I have a JBL "creature" amp with little speakers plugged into the computer, but it doesn't seem to be that - it's definitely an in-computer sound. Could the sound card be going bad, or somehow affected by the start up problem or the new RAM? I'm guessing it's an unrelated thing, but wanted to include as much info as possible.

Many times a connected External HD, iPod or other storage device can cause the startup manager to have a problem finding your startup volume, first disconnect all other storage devices to see if that helps. Second go to *System Preferences > Startup Disk* and select the *Mac OS X, 10.4 on Macintosh HD* click the lock and restart.

I have a Nokia N97. I'm looking for a smartphone that is Blue tick approved for reception in rural Australia, which means only Telstra Next G. I would appreciate hearing about any smart phone with gd rural reception, and esp new versions of Android

There are reports of some 3G, or NextG ph's without a blue tick, with as good a reception as the blue ticks. This may include iphone, HTC Desire, and a new to Telstra shop Motorola Defy, that has a blue tick. Telstra staff are not able to give any information re upcoming models of smart phone + good rural reception

I was just having a look back at this post on the Q + A Session and had two thoughts:
- Did Nokia ever address the questions that they deferred by saying they will get back to them later?
- On Q9 the answer from the engineers that it was not an easy task to get Virtual RAM is a cop-out.
They admitted that the c: drive has memory paging and that this make apps run faster and smoother. That implies that apps installed on the mass memory won't run as fast or smoothly. I suspect that a lot of problems with apps are caused by being installed on the mass memory.
So where does that leave N97 owners, Nokia are very unlikely (like a snowballs chance in...) to recall N97s to have more memory fitted, so it goes without saying that Nokia should work on Virtual RAM from the Mass Memory as long as this can be accessed as fast as the c: drive (I don't know if this is even technically possible).
The decision to put such a small c: drive on the N97 was a terrible one, especially when you consider the position of this flagship device in relation to Nokia's move towards service with the Ovi Store and the additional overhead of the homescreen with widgets. Nokia all but acknowledged this by increasing the c: drive in the N97 mini. All I can hope is that Nokia have learnt from the bad publicity that this penny pinching exercise has caused and that whoever made the decision has either lost their job or been demoted to the most junior position in the company.

Nokia 6300 Broken Screen (can't see a thing) help ...

Hi guys.
I've got a Nokia 6300 and the screen broke the other day and I'm unable to see a thing. I can still use the phone though (blindly of course)
I'd like to transfer my numbers from my phone to my sim and to be able to do this without being to see.
So if someone could help me with shortcuts? I think I can press the menu key, then some numbers (am i right?) rather than up down etc etc.
Any help would be really really appreciated as i'm stuffed without a phone at the moment!

Nokia 6280 - Broken Screen! Contacts copy??

Hi,
Last week someone stood on my the screen of my phone so that the screen no longer functions.
Everything else works, I can dial out etc...
Firstly, can I get a new screen fitted and how much is it likely to cost?
Secondly, I need some help transferring the contacts from the phone to the sim, but remember, I don't have a screen so I need to know what buttons to push and in what order.

In the iTunes or App Store app, go to the Featured Tab, and swipe all the way to the bottom.
On the button that has your Apple ID it should state your account balance under your Apple ID.
If it doesn't. Tap on the button to bring up your Apple ID. At the top of the window that opens there should be a line that reads: "Apple ID Balance:" and the amount you have.
