Nokia 770 and password to financial institution

Hello,
I have a Nokia 770. Each time I want to log on to my bank to view my checking account or to my credit card company to check my balance my Opera Browser closes down on me. This only happens when I copy my user name and/or password from a password manager (Password Safe) but also when I do the same from the built in Notes into the provided boxes on the login pages. When I type in the same information directly via the software keyboard I can access my accounts just fine. To manually do this is of cause a big hassle that I would like to avoid and to let the 770 remember the passwords seems to me to be not very safe. I would really appreciate it if somebody has a solution to this problem.

I have let it load until NFCU asks me if I want to cancel the session, a much to long of a load time. Has anyone else reported having this issue with NFCU or Mozilla Firefox 3.6.18?

Nokia 770 and Adobe Flash Player

I have been to a number of sites, like youtube.com, where I am directed to get an updated flash player, and then i am routed to the Adobe Flash Player for Linux download page. Unfortunately, the download button is not shown on the 770, while it is shown when I use my computer. Even if I could download it, the instructions pertain to a computer with a Modzilla browser.
Does the 770 have a flash player, and can it be updated?

Question: When is an 'Internet' Tablet not an 'Internet' Tablet?
Answer : When like the nokia 770 it comes with an outdated flash player that can't be updated!
To own one of these 770s with a completely out of date (cira 1998 for flash 6?) flash player is like owning a car (recently purchased) that will not drive on newly built roads!
I got my mind around the 770 not having a decent Calendar a some time ago (eventhough you get a Calendar on the most basic Nokia phone!). The Geeks of Nokia tell us "This is not a PDA & that why it doesn't have a Calendar". Ok so it is not a PDA but if it is an 'Internet' Tablet, why is the flash player so out of date?? Why don't Nokia release an updated version for it?? This device was on sale in the UK upto about 2 weeks ago through Nokia's own web shop for £243 !!
If Nokia think all 770 users should buy an N800 just to get upto date internet capability, here is my answer: IN NO WAY 'JOSE'!! I am looking at alternative options.

Nokia 770 and Greek warranty

Recently I bought a nokia 770 from eXpandsys from France.
The tablet had the known problem with blank screen and had to be replaced.
I called the nokia rep at Heraklion Crete Greece and told that the company
cannot cover the warranty. From eXpandsys they told me that this huppens only
in Greece for unknown reasons.
My sn was 0014A7FAEF97.
Can someone please inform me about warranty and straiten up the Greek reps ??

Nokia 770 and Google Mail

Has anybody got gmail to work through the contacts icon? I use gmail, but i have to access it by going to the google website. The problem may be that I may have made a mistake in selecting the protocol or naming the mail servers at gmail in the setup wizard. For some reason, these settings cannot be changed after exiting the wizard, which raises the question what do you do if you change e-mail providers and have to change the settings? Buy a new 770 and start all over? Does anyone know how to ressurect the setup wizard? Bruce

This would seem to be exactly what I'm needing. However, there doesn't seem to be anywhere where I can set retrieval to manual.

Nokia 770 Connections

Can anyone provide me the settings for connecting the Nokia 770 to a Motorola V3i and then subsequently Orange GPRS.
I thought I had all the settings right, am paired with the phone but it still can't access the internet and I get either "unable to access internet" or "can not connect with the V3i".
Any help/thoughts/comments (especially polite ones) appreciated.

ok - so I had to reply to my own posting, but I've found out how to do it, so I thought I would share it with the forum incase it helps.
I've got a Nokia 770 and a Motorola V3i on the Orange network and each time I tried to access the internet using GPRS it would say it couldn't connect to the internet.
Firstly, I could see the phone was actually paired OK via Bluetooth as I was able to use the file manager on the 770 to explore the phone.
OK - so how to set up the connection...
Access point name orangeinternet
Dial-Up Number *99#
User name user
Password pass
(all the above are case sensitive)
Click Next and then click the "Advanced" button
Click on the "Other" Tab and ensure both the following boxes are ticked
Allow Plain Text Login
Use PPP Compression
Then in the Supplementary AT Commands box, type the following (again case sensitive) at+cgdcont=1,"IP","orangeinternet"

On financial site which worked perfectly in IE for many years, I get immediate timeout error after entering my ID and password. Does not happen every time and multiple retries do not work.

I have used the PrimeVest web site to keep track of my IRA for several years now. For most of that time I have used Internet Explorer and have had no trouble. I have a link to that site pasted onto an Excel spread sheet and I click on that link daily to get my present balance. I have been doing it this way for years and have had no trouble while using Internet Explorer.
I recently installed the Firefox browser on my new laptop and have switched to using it as my default browser. When I click on that link now and enter my account number and password, sometimes it works OK in Firefox and sometimes it gives me a message saying "Your session has timed out. Please Log In Again." I have tried multiple times to re-enter the account number and password but always get the same message. Closing Firefox and reopening it produces the same result. I have even tried shutting the computer completely down and restarting it, but I got the same result. I can not find any pattern or reason to the days when I can use Firefox and the ones when I can not. The only way I have been able to log on to this site on those days is to past the link into Internet Explorer.
I do the same thing with several other financial sites and have not had any trouble with them and Firefox.

I attempted to remove cookies, but I can not identify any of the cookies on the list with the PrimeVest web site. No PrimeVest, no PVs, nothing that looks like it came from them.
I have also reported the problem to PrimeVest and their tech did answer. He suggested erasing the browsing history (temporary internet files), which I did with no effect. He also had me check for the correct starting page address, which was OK. He stated that they are aware of a problem and it is on their list. No indication of how far down that list though. His only cure was to use IE for now, which I was already doing. Perhaps he can tell me which cookies to remove.

Nokia Messaging Username is the first email that you set up on the device (E63) and the password is the same password that you have for your email.
you can check as well email.nokia.com. you can try loggin in to the website using your email and check if youll be able to log in. )

I cannot log onto sites that require my log in and password. I get no error message, fire fox just goes back to the same empty log in screen. this problem is not limited to one site. I reloaded firefox with same results.

When i type in my log in and password and enter, the site either returns to the blank screens or does nothing. This is not limited to one or two sites. all of my financial institutions, electric company, insurance companies, even trying to register here so that i could ask this questions. In this situation, when i hit the register button, nothing happend, its as iff the button is inactive. i had to go to IE to register and post this question. I just tried to enter my new log in and pw on the screen in fire fox and nothing happens. Some sites behave differently when i hit the submit or log in button. the information seems to be transmitted but the screen comes right back to the original log in screen with blank fields. there are no error instructions that something does not match or is missing. then i go to IE and it works.
This started a few weeks ago. I cant identify anything that was added around that time but i tried a system restore and that did nothing. i deleted fire fox and downloaded the latest version 3.6.13 and it is still happening

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

How to get safari to remember login and password after I said do not remember

I went to a website through Safari and logged in and accidentally hit Never remember for this site and now I cannot get safari to remember the login and password. I have gone through preferences/passwords and the site is not listed and it will not allow me to add a site. I would love help with this since I log on to this site just about every day! Any suggestions?

It might be a corrupted keychain ...
Open Keychain Access located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Open Keychain Access then select Passwords on the left.
Right or control click a keychain then click Delete.
Back to Safari. Login to the website you want the password autofilled.
Click Yes when prompted to save that data to a new keychain.
Keep in mind, not all websites espcially financial institutions allow the autofill feature.

ICloud Keychain: username and password form on separate pages

I really like using iCloud Keychain. I am, however, unable to store a username and password for two web sites. Both sites use a separate page for username and password. It appears that Safari does not see the web form on each page. I have attempted to manually add the usernames and passwords to Keychain Access on my iMac, however, it had no effect. Note that I have also enabled the Safari options "Autofill usernames and passwords" and "Allow Autofill even for websites that request passwords not be saved."
Has anyone experienced Safari not showing a prompt to save usernames/passwords and found a solution?

II'd rather not disclose the financial institutions i do business with, but my bank and two mutual fund websites use separate pages for username and password. I chec around, and if you go to the Bank of America website, they do it as well. Keychain does not work on any of the three sites I use.

Can't login to my financial institutions

I am a new iMac owner (switched from Windows XP a month ago) and love it, but I am unable to login to several of my financial institutions. Using both Safari and Firefox, the homepages load fine, but when I submit my username and password, the login process fails. Safari gives me a "lost internet connection" error message or the page is blank, while Firefox says "Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand." I have reported the bugs to Apple, but want to know if this is a common problem. Several Mac-owner friends are mystified, Apple Support is mystified. Is it a Microsoft/Corporate America conspiracy?? Any thoughts on this would be most welcome.

Sorry to hear that you haven't yet had any luck. Unless these are obscure financial institutions, with very few users, it makes no sense that there have not been other reports of this issue.
In my opinion, you should concentrate on the "lost internet connection" message that you receive on an apparently routine basis when accessing those particular sites. If you are the only one reporting that problem, it is definitely not a problem Apple or the banks will be able to solve for you.
Something must be wrong with your configuration, or with the connection with your isp. When you now, with no known problems, open System Preferences and its Network panel, if you then click the "Assist me..." button at the bottom of the panel, followed by the "Diagnostics..." button in the drop-down, do you then see green signals to the left of all six categories listed beneath "Network Status"?
If so, to the right, beneath "Network Diagnostics" it should show "This computer's Internet connection appears to be operating normally." If so, exit by clicking the red x'd circle in the top left corner.
If not, that's what you need to resolve. Please let us know what you see:)

Keychain won't save password when user name and password are on separate pages

I Have and iMac,iPhone and iPad. When I go on a site where the username and password are on different pages, Keychain doesn't seem to work. It won't offer a passwot, nor will it save the username and password I enter.
any suggestions?
