Nokia 770 - Application Manager unable to update -...

I've got a 770 and really like it. The only issue I have is there are a few apps I want to install but can't as the APplication Manager keeps failing to update.
I'm connecting wirelessly through my router and have no problems with internet, email, RSS, normal downloading, but App Manager just seems to keep faling to update, so I can't install much.
I want to install Pidgin, plus a few other tools (calender, maybe an email/contacts tool, a decent video player and a decent photo viewer, plus a good RSS reader.
I've tried Pidgin using this method (http://dragon-gaming.com/blog/?p=11 - incidentally I can't install the 'How to Gain Root' app either!). When I enter the repositories it starts to update, but then just waits, then fails. Same with all other repositories I try, other than the two default ones.
Any ideas?

I can't comment on the method you have used but I successfully managed to install Pidgin on my 770 yesterday for the first time without any problems, the method I used can be found at: http://pidgin.garage.maemo.org/. Looking at the method you used it looks very similar, but give this method a try and see how you get on.
If this method doesn't work I'd suggest updating your software using the Nokia Internet Tablet Software Updater which can be found at: http://europe.nokia.com/A4144790, out of curiosity what is your current software version? (tools>control panel>device>about product)
Let me know how you get on

  • Nokia 770 application manager crashing.

    Hey Guys,
I've had my nokia 770 for about 3 months now and not long after getting it and installing a few third party apps, such as meamo mapper.etc, the application manager now crashes whenever you try to install anything. It does not let you access the the Application catalogue. When you try to access it, it merely says "operation failed" this happens when you try to do almost anything related to the application manager, so insallling new apps no longer works. I have tried doing a system restore, to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas. any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks guys.
    Cheers,
    Alan,

I am afraid that the only way I could cure this issue on mine was to reinstall the firmware as if I was upgarding. This will mean that you should backup the personal data you have on the device first. But, be warned, in my case it was the personal data that was causing the issue, as soon as I reloaded my data the fault returned. Reinstalling the latest firmware again resolved the issue and I just entered all my personal stuff manually! A real pain, but it worked, best of luck.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop Application Manager Unable to Update  New Version of PS CC

    Windows 7, 64 bit
Received notification of new software for PS CC.  Desktop application manager appears, with a creative cloud note over the desktop app mgr saying:  " A new ver of CC is available.  Update now?"  I click update and launching creative cloud desk appears and disappears.  Note in bottom right tray says update to cc available and it too disappears.
Looked for help on Adobe website and tried changing name of OOBE to OOBE_old.
Tried to download update directly from PS CC.  Went to help; update;   It failed to update completely and left the following error message:
    Adobe CSXS Infrastructure 4
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Now PS CC has lost some of functionality.
    Marc

    Genius.
Worked a treat, although, as Lion hides the User's Library folder I had to launch Terminal to make it visible first. Do you think the fact the Library's now invisible might've been an issue here?
Whatever, all working now and Creative Cloud Files all synced again.
    Thanks very much Jeff.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't update on Win 8.1 - cannot install apps

Since updating this PC to Windows 8.1, the Adobe Application Manager which manages the Creative Cloud apps will not update itself, hence we cannot install or update CC apps (specifically, Acrobat).
On clicking the download button on the Acrobat page of CC, the Adobe Application Manager starts to update itself, then quits with the error:
    We've encountered the following issues:
Adobe Application Manager failed to install.
    [Quit]
Repeated attempts fail.  We urgently need to admin several CC apps so to be forced to use the App Manager causes us substantial business interruption.

    Hi illuminantpartnersnyc ,
Please close all the Adobe application, browsers running at the back and try to install again. If still the same error please follow the mentioned steps:
    1. Please navigate to C/Program Files(X86)/Common Files/Adobe/OOBE and rename to OOBE.old
Please go to C/User/User Name/App date/Local/Adobe/OOBE and rename it to OOBE.old
Log to to CC desktop: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and run as admin to install it.
If still the same error then please enable hidden admin: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/9650-built-administrator-account-enable-disable-windo ws-8-a.html and try to install again from hidden admin account.
Please review the log : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html if still the error persists.

  • Adobe application manager not finding updates on PSE11

There should be a camera raw 7.4 update available, but it is not being found and I am not sure what other updates are not being found.
In addition I did a manual download of Adobe Patch Installer and when it was launched got the following message in the UPDATES pop up:
         > Error loading Updater workflow
I suspect this may be the root cause of the application manager not finding updates.
Any suggestions on how to get this Updater workflow to load?

FYI - I did an un-install and re-install of PSE11 and it looks like that has worked as the system is now recognizing available updates :-)

  • Application Manager is not updating

Application manager is not updating and i keep getting an A12E5 error. I have also tried to install Creative Cloud app and i get error A12E6. I have a CC account and would like to start using the new software but i cannot install any of the managers to be able to access this. I am on OS 10.7.5. I have checked all my ethernet and internet connections with my IT and i am connected. Please can someone help with this as i am now quite frustrated with trying to figure out what the issue is and none of the forum threads appear to be woriking for me.

I have tried that solution and it doesn't work for me. Creative cloud desktop app is not installed on my machine as i cannot get the Adobe Application Manager to work which comes up with error A12E5.
Uninstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application.
    Mac OS
Using Finder, navigate to /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/ and double-click Adobe Creative Cloud.
    Follow the onscreen instructions.
i cannot do this as it is not on my machine. Issue appears to be Adobe Application Manager where it keeps telling me that it can't update and this is holding up the Creative cloud installation as well as all my CC updates.

Those updates are normally notified via the operating system.

  • TO NOKIA SUPPORT: Application Manager Memory issue...

There is a STRANGE memory issue with Application Manager and Nokia N80 device. It's present in both N80 and N80IE and tried with Firmware versions from v3.x to lastest v4.x one.
When you have installed many programs, tested with more than 150 counting SIS plus JAVA, Application Manager gets unusuable reporting continuosly "Memory Full - Please close apps..." and you can't do anything with it...
This issue happens even after starting device without any resident app loaded and 14 Mbytes of free RAM so I think this is a limited memory issue available for Application Manager
A curious thing is that you can Run and Enter Application Manager and installed App list is showed but not complete, it list all the SIS files installed (I think it start to list that type) and then the JAVA ones is cutted and dont appear the full list of installed apps of this type.
Another curious thing is that if you uninstall a SIS app and Run again Application Manager the list is filled with one more app of JAVA type so this sound like a MEMORY ISSUE or deliberating restricting number of app listed?
Perhaps app listing could be stored in a temp file and partially loaded in pages so memory don't get overheaded... :-?
Today with 1 or 2 GB memory cards, this is a SERIOUS ISSUE.
Please, could you confirm this and point me where to report this issue so it can be solved in future firmware updates?
    Many thanks in advance.

So hope i.I'm preparing a bug report to post here.Maybe with our reports the new firmwares will be even better...if some Nokia guy is looking at what we're speaking

  • Application Manager Stalls When Updating Any Adobe Product

I'm a CS6 Master Collection owner, and I've been dealing with this issue for a couple of months now.
Whenever I try to update or install any Adobe product, the Application Manager launches but then does nothing.
I can see that it is active in the OS X dock, and I can see that the process is running in the Acitivity Monitor.  However, Application Manager is "Not Responding" (right click on icon) and absolutely nothing happens. I'm completely unable to install, uninstall, update, or otherwise alter any Adobe application that uses the Application Manager (which, to my knowledge, is *everything*).
The only thing left to try is to compltely blow away my CS6 installation with the Cleaner Script, which I am reluctant to do.  Before I do, I'm hoping someone can help me with less drastic measures.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi,

  • Adobe application manager fails to update/install

Please help me resolve this error and update App Manger properly.
I have downloaded and am running Creative Cloud CS6 versions of Illustrator and Photoshop that I installed back in Decmember.  Now I'm trying to download more applications and am encountering this error:
I click 'download' on InDesign (for example)
Download initiates launch of Application manager, App manager opens main window then "initializing installer window"
Application manager flashes this warning for a split second: "other instances of adobe application manager are currently running which must be closed before installing this product. Please close or wait for them to complete." (see image). This warning closes on its own after just a second.
Then it continues to install for a few minutes, asks for my password then fails with the message, "We've encountered the following issues, Adobe Application manager failed to install" (no error number, see image)
Photoshop and Illustrator still run fine, but none of my Adobe apps (including Air) will update properly now. I have tried deleting the App Manger files from applications > utilities and re-installing, but that also creates an error.
I have searched for duplicate app manager files but have come up empty.  I've run the support advisor app and it checks out fine.  I have a token from that if it helps.
I'm running iMac 10.6.8 and I also have CS5 installed on this computer if it makes a difference.
Any help would be appreciated.   I'd like to be able to run the apps I'm currently paying a monthly fee for.

I'm going to write this information cause it was so darn frustrating and after two days I finally got it - so here goes - resolution:
I'm running windows 7, and was trying to download cloud which apparently I was forced to do based on my subscription base (was on CS6 before that)
Step 1: start task manager and close ALL adobe running apps including akami session
Step 2: click on the windows icon and type in search bar %appdata%, enter
Step 3: in browser bar above of folder, click on "appdata" (my file directory when i typed step two was C:\Users\study\AppData\Roaming, and I need to be be at C:\Users\study\AppData)
Step 4: Click Local, then Adobe, then oobe, delete the oobe file
Step 5: Go the the following to download the "cleaner tool": http://download.macromedia.com/pub/creativecloud/cleanertool/win/Adobe_Creative_Cloud_Clea ner_Tool.zip
Step 6: Unzip the file and click on the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe, that was in my directory as follows (dependent on where you download and unzip of course) C:\Users\study\Downloads\adobe_creative_suite_cleaner_tool (1)\win
Step 7: select (e) in the black box for "english", select (y) for yes, select creative cloud (whichever option # that is) and again anything with creative cloud (this did NOT delete my other adobe files, which I feared may - but I was simply instructing it to clean/delete the creative cloud.
Step 8: close the black window
Step 9: Click here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773  and download the creative cloud adobe application manager
    Step 10: Run the application
Step 11: Log in and download the software you want
If that doesn't work, what I did is between steps 4 and 5 I restarted my computer, then I went into task manager and closed all adobe apps.  I'm not sure I had to do this step but I was desperate after 2 days doing whatever.  Each tech person gave me different information.  The last person helped me best, but I spoke with her via chat AFTER I had rebooted the computer.  If you need support click http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and I personally did the "chat" so I wouldn't have to wait.
Hope this helps anyone who hasn't figured it out!
