Nokia 8800 Arte IMEI

Just a quick one. I have seen a Nokia 8800 Arte, used, for sale at a market for £200.
I was just wondering if there's a way of checking the IMEI on the Nokia website or something so I know it's a genuine one.
Bit suspicious because it comes with 2 batteries and a 'universal charger' although the seller is adamant it's real when I asked if it was a fake.
The IMEI is
Thanks in advance guys.

Hi,
Well the arte does not come with two batteries !
Check the contents of the box as it should come with a desktop charger and hands free headset.
Open the back of the handset
The battery will say BL-4U on it and will have a hologram.
The white label on the handset will say
Nokia Corperation
Made in Korea
Type RM-233
Model 8800e
it will also say 1GB in the top right hand side top corner.
Be very wary of fake chinese models are re badged original Nokia 8800's
Their is also a distinctive weight to the handset too.
The same kind of info should show when *#0000#
If your in any doubt then walk away.

hi i have nokia 8800 arte whose imei has been corrupted after update and i donot have rpl backup. could you plz help me on this. phone is out of warranty.

Unfortunately we cannot help you with that here as it is illegal to attempt to modify the IMEI yourself in many countries, even after "corruption" or warranty expiration.
Either visit a nokia care point or local phone repair shop for assistance.

  • NOKIA 8800 ARTE CARBON

Nokia 8800 Arte Carbon Made in Finland, original or fake ? i wanna by a 8800 arte carbon from someone second-hand and atm i saw that someguys says that made in finland is fake the original is made in koreea ? so what is the true ? in the phone if it tipe *#000# somewere in the end it's shows (C) Nokia.on the phone says Made in Finland ( RM -233  - 2009/10/21)

Some fakes are easy to spot, others are more accurate. The only way to be 100% sure is to check the IMEI number with Nokia's customer support or a local service point. The will simply run the IMEI through their systems and tell you if the number was issued by them or not, and if the model is correct (often the fakers are lazy and will use a code that corresponds to a similar model rather than exatcly the same one).

The Nokia 8800 Arte should be compatible with BH-903 in use.

  • Nokia 8800 Arte and iMac OSX 10.6

Tried to synchronize the Nokia 8800 Arte with the iMac OSX 10.6. Bluetooth connection works, so exchange of films and photo's are OK. Synchronization via blue tooth iSync does not function because iMac does not have 'plug-in'. Nokia does not provide a solution. Also PC Suite for Nokia 8800 Arte and iMac OSX 10.6 is not available at Nokia support/downloads. Nokia support promised to ask for investigation of the possibility of developing and verifying a solution.

Hi PAHU, thanks for helping. I´ve tried 2 different and brand new cables and still nothing appears on the USB list in System Profiler. I´ve tried restarting both with printer and off, etc, still it aint there. Connecting my iPhone to the same USB ports, the iPhone shows up in System Profiler, so the ports must be ok.
I tried connecting the printer to my girlfriends Macbook Pro, OS X 10.6.4. and the printer does show up on the System Profiler. The printer seems to be online but when I tried to print a page of text, it "went offline" and gave an error 306A "communication error blabla". I downloaded a new driver from Canons site and now it says its printing, the printer starts blinking its green light, but nothing happens except it switches to saying the printer is offline.
    This is very confusing...

  • Nokia 8800 arte

Hey everyone, im looking to buy a nokia 8800 arte, couple of questions.
Nokia 8800 Arte, Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte, Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte,Nokia 88000 Gold.
If im correct these are all the 8800's
    Just a couple of questions.
Do all of them have 4GB Memory? Just wanted to make sure because some sites state that some have 1GB memory and some have 4GB Memory?
Do every single one of these phones have the same features?
If someone could please compare and contrast them for me that would be lovely?
Also im aware their are a couple of fakes out there, just wondering if 400-500 dollars for a brand new unlocked one is gauranteed fake?
Message Edited by 613bulletproof on 12-Feb-2009 03:22 AM

    Hi
    Yes they are all 8800's
$500 dollars seems a little light even for the 8800 arte !
This is £348'ish in sterling and you would be hard pressed to get a used handset in the uk for that unless its on a contract.
Be safe and not sorry... purchase from a reputable online or highstreet retailer. Steer clear of auction sites in my humble opinion.
I have the original 8800 arte and it has 1gb of memory. The sapphire is the same.

  • Stereo hands-free for Nokia 8800 Arte

    Hello
I'm looking for a headphone set for my phone - Nokia 8800 Arte. I have the original supplied hands-free(HS-82)but I don't like it because it looks obsolete.
On the other hand, if I check the accesories offer on your Nokia official page I notice some discrepancy between the cable CA-126 and this phone as this phone has the power supply to fit into microUSB plug.
    Thank you for your understanding

  • Nokia 8800 arte running slow !!!!

i have the nokia 8800 arte, and when i first got the phone it would sometimes crash and reboot when playing some videos, but now the menus loading has slowed right down to the point where it wont even play the active wallpapers
any ideas or am i going to have to give it back to nokia to send off which i was hoping i would not have to do
    thanks

hang on i just contradicted myself. i guess backing up only backs up memory and settings not firmware.
by the way, my phone is using normal apps etc. its basically back to new specs

  • Opera Mini on Nokia 8800 Arte

Hi there, I accidently deleted Opera Mini from Application > Collections on my 8800 Arte. I'm not too worried about that as I installed the latest version 4.2.
However, I have noticed I do not have Opera Mini on the Nokia main menu anymore. I have Widsets but no Opera Mini.
By the main menu I mean (messaging, contacts, log, settings....) Before I deleted opera mini, it was on the main menu but now that I have reinstalled it, it is not showing up on main menu. I can access it from Applications > Collections.
For the time being, I have added a shortcut to my "Go To" list but ideally I would like it on the main menu.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Nokia 8800 arte software update

Hi i recently updated the software on my 8800 arte to the latest one v9.41. The reason why i chose to update it was because everytime i watched a video, the phone would reboot back to standby.
so anyway the new v9.41 has fixed the reboot problem when watching videos but another problem has arised. I used to set reminders, birthdays and meeting notes on the previous version and it gave me an alarm tone and notification of the reminder.
However, the new v9.41 doesn't give me any reminder notification or alarm tone. When I switch the phone off and turn it back on, it will give me a reminder tone, but by then its too late.
Has anyone else experienced the same with the software update 9.41. I wish i didn't update it as I could have lived with the reboot problem when watching videos.
Is Nokia aware of this problem??
    Thanks
    Minesh

Hi dmh87, Thanks for the reply. Yes thats right the reminder comes up at midnight or the next time you remove the battery.. Have your already updated the firmware to the latest v9.41. In my opinion this is the problem version. My phone orignally came with v6.40 and then I decided to upgrade it to fix the freezing and rebooting problem. It then updated to v7.10. I've had the phone since Oct 2008 It seems to be such a shame that Nokia charge premium prices for this handset but updates still have bugs. NOKIA GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND FIS THIS PROBLEM!!

  • Nokia 8800 Arte slide

I currently have the nokia 8800 sirocco, i rather quite like the bar bearing slide of the phone and the noise it produces when opening and closing the handset.
I was thinking of upgrading to the 8800 Arte and was wondering if the slide also operated on the bar bearing mechanism, and if it made the noise as with sirocco when opening and closing the handset.
    Thanks

its a very similar slide action
