Nokia 8800 "Insert SIM Card"

As soon as I started using my Nokia 8800 it continuosly came up with "Insert SIM card" even though the SIM is inserted. I tried three different SIM cards and received the same message with each although each SIM works fine with another model.
I took the phone to the nearest Nokia Repair Centre and they told me the phone was fine and it was the SIM that was faulty. I told them I had already tried three different SIM cards and the fault was present on all of them, they asked me to try with a new SIM, I eventually agreed, two hours later it was happening again.
I've heard that almost all Nokia 8800 users experience this fault now and again but with my phone it's happening continuosly.
Does anyone have any idea what causes this???

  • Nokia 6630 "Insert SIM Card"

    I have a Nokia 6630.
It is always on offline mode and it never activates other profiles.
It only accepts one SIM card.
It never accepts any other SIM cards, literally!!
i have tried formatting it (holding call, *, 3) but still no results and still on offline mode.
i believe that it is set and locked to accept only this one sim card and not any other else.
the main problem is, it is not mine and it is my sister's.
and i strongly believe that she made it to a computer shop to have it locked so that she will be the only to use it and no one else.
i have also tried *#7370# but it asks for a lock code which i do not know.
how can i restore all original settings or format it so that it will accept all kinds of SIM cards?
    please help.
    i have
    V 4.03.38
    25-04-05
    RM-1
    please email me: [email protected]

  • 6120 restart after insert SIM card

    hello every body,
I have a problem with my 6120 classic, that when I insert SIM card the phone is restart. the phone can work only in offline mode with the SIM inserted or work without the SIM.
I tried to press green button with * with 3 to restart it but I have the same issue.
    Thanks.

Does it just have this problem with your sim or all sims?
If it's just your sim ask your network to issue you a new sim card.
If it happens with any sim that you put in your phone then take it to a nokia care point for help.

  • E51 error- "Insert sim card"

I have an e51 and have a ASDA mobiel sim card. Even when it is, sometimes, it has this white background with a bit at the bottom that says "insert sim card" but there is already a sim card in there.
I tried for ages, but nothing works, wiped all of the installed programs etc, still nothing. The problem doesn't exist when I put the sim card in another phone.
I then switched the sim card to a 3 card and the same thing still happens
Although now, the problem has become worse as the Device refuses to boot. I hold down the power key for ages and the backlight lights up as well as the notification light, but the device doesn't boot.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

  • E71 hangs at random "Insert SIM card" screen

Since updating to 410.21.010, my E71 occasionally shows a "Insert SIM card" message. This is rather odd, as it's not feasible to do so (the battery blocks the slot), and the SIM hasn't had any trouble before. Worse still, when this occurs the phone becomes entirely useless - not only can I not access running apps (and the model doesn't require a SIM for that), I can't even turn it off!
Upon removal of the battery to forcibly restart the phone, it starts just fine, SIM and all - so the card isn't poorly seated or anything like that. Any help would be appreciated!

First make sure sim is seated properly as you said yourself
second Try another sim card, if it works fine with that then you need to replace your sim card, Contact your operator.
and if it fails to operate properly with any other sim card too, then you need to do a Soft Reset:
(BACKUP YOUR DATA MANUALLY, Take out memory card)  Dial this code *#7370#  Enter your Lock code, Default is 12345.
And if that fails too then you need visit Nokia Care Point in your area.

  • E65 - Insert SIM card

My E65 had been working perfectly today, but I loooked at it and it had an 'Insert SIM card' error message. I turned it off, took out the SIM, put it back in, put the battery back in and turned it on.  Its now in Offline mode, and every time I try to change its profile, I get the same Insert SIM card message.
I've tried turning it on without the memory card, I've put paper in with the SIM in case the connection was loose,  and still the same message.
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers

You have already check the connection between sim vard and pins. The next thing you have to do is to find out if the problem is with the sim card or phone. So try your sim card with another phone, try another sim card with your phone.
If the problem is with the sim card then get a replacement from your network. If the problem is with the phone then it bis probably the card reader and you will need to send it back to the Nokia Care Point.

  • NOKIA LUMIA 925 SIM CARD HOLDER

I MUST BUY NOKIA LUMIA 925 SIM CARD HOLDER,
    I LIVE IN ISRAEL
WHERE AND HOW CAN I BUY AND ORDER

I think that the device is so new that you will definitely have a challenge finding one at the moment.
IF nokia care is around you, they MIGHT have one...but still, I think that IF they even have the shells, it will probably be a set which would include having to change the entire shell.
    its just too new.

You should be able to use the sim eject tool (or something like a bent paperclip if you don't have it) to remove the sim card holder from its slot on its left-hand side so that you can inser the nano sim card into it

  • My BB Bold 9900 / 9930 says Insert Sim Card even when there is a sim card inserted

I've been using this simcard with my BB Bold 9930 for  5 months now and then 2 days ago my phone opened at the blackberry protect log-in pagethat happens when you use a new simcard (which I didn't). so i entered my username and password but then it will show that the username and password doesn't match but when i opened it in my computer and checked it.. it was a match. so i tried switching off my phone and then opening it again but then it will come out again and then again doesn't recognize my password.. i've been doing this until i reached the last attempt where after which they will disable your account for 15 minutes before you can try again. so what i did was to wait and try again until i was able to open it. it was working until yesterday when i restarted my phone again and then after a while the log-in page appeared again but this time it accepted my password then an "initializing sim card" appeared on my phone for a while after which the Insert sim card sign was there. so i tried turning it off and removed and re-inserted my sim card for 6 times it keep saying insert sim card everytime i open it. so i tried using another sim card of my friend which is the same network as mine and inserted my sim card on another phone! my simcard worked on the other phone and so as my friend's sim card worked on my blackberry! i don't know why my blackberry doesn't recognize my simcard! i can't switch to a sew simcard (number) because i am on a postpaid line now and it has a contract for 2 years, so i couldn't throw it away and use a new one!
Help anyone pls. how could i make my simcard worked on my blackberry again! Thanks!!

If you're having issues with your SIM card, Globe Telecom should allow you to swap it for another at no cost to you.  Explain your experiment of exchanging SIM cards with your friend and how another SIM card worked fine in your phone.  This is clearly a faulty SIM card so it needs to be exchanged, no two ways about it.
If Globe is unwilling to do a simple swap, which any other carrier worldwide would gladly do, tell them you'd like your issue escalated to RIM for resolution because you're obviously not getting anywhere with them.  Carriers would prefer not to escalate so they might give in and give you a new SIM card.  You shouldn't have to pay for it, either.
    I hope that helps you.

  • How do you take the back off to insert sim card, how do you take the back off to insert sim card

how do i take the back of the cover off to insert sim card?

With an iPhone you don't need to take the back cover off (attempting to do so may damage the device). Instead look around the edges of the iPhone for the SIM tray. On an iPhone 4 the tray is located on the right hand side of the device, and on all other models it is on the top edge. Simply insert the end of a paperclip into the hole on the SIM tray and push gently.

  • Tour says, "Insert SIM card" after quick reset

I have a Blackberry tour 9630, and for no logical reason it started saying "insert SIM card" after I reset the phone. I've tried a battery pull, and that did nothing. In fact, I have no idea if my service provider, US Cellular, even uses a SIM card. Is this something I will have to discuss with my service provider or is this something I can fix? I can't seem to even see a SIM card on the phone. In fact, I don't even know where it would be.
    Thanks

I also have US Cellular and this problem happened to me while travelling last week    I don't  know why it did it but I had to go to "Options, Mobile Network" and change the Network Technology back to "1XEV" which returned it to normal.  I dont know what caused it to switch to "GSM/UMTS"
