  • Nokia 8800 original silver problem?

Hi can anyone help me I have a nokia 8800 silver and recently it has developed a problem where I cannot hear the person who has called me? When I turn the phone on the nokia tune is quite loud and audible as normal but when I am making a call I can barely hear the other person? It is really strange can anyone advise how to repair this ? Is it a common fault ? I have checked the speaker volume on the phone and it is fully up so it isn't anything as simple as that. I would really appreciate any help with this as I love this phone and do not want send it to phone heaven. I look forward to your responses.
    Thanks

might be the earpiece that has failed. have you checked that you are up to date with the latest firmware for your device via checking via Nokia suite? also try Restoring your phone to factory settings.
failing that, you will need to take your phone to nokia Care for inspection: http://nokia.com/support

On the iPhone 5s, performing any edit on a black and white photo will render a strong purple tone. This occurs in any app under the current iOS. Hi everyone, I'm the one from the example above posted by @frankensinatra and I can confirm having the same problem.
But I want to add something. The problem is not only related to black and white but to every picture, and it can be worse or not depending on the range of colors involved. Apparently, there is a shift between some RGB value that is going to remove some green producing a magenta look.
I've started contacting some developer about this problem and some of them is trying to understand what's going on.
In my case, the problem came up when I bought the new iPad mini Retina. I didn't have this problem with the previous iPad mini. Same OS for both devices.
The photo you see in the link above is a perfect example of what happens just going from one app to another and saving to the camera roll. In that case, the situation doesn't change if I send that picture from within the app by email, or to another app using the "open in..." feature. It keeps being purple. And the problem can be reproduced all the time.
Have some of you noticed the same?

  • Nokia 8800 Sirocco - good or bad buy?

I'm thinking of entering into my first contract tomorrow and wanted an Nokia 8800 Sirocco
My friend works for a phone shop and can get me one on Orange.
Would anyone avoid it? I heard the battery life was terrible on the 8800, is it the same issue with the sirocco? Also, I have a N70 at the moment but don't use email, from reading the forum it appears people are having a lot of trouble with email? Is it something that goes wrong even if you don't use email?
Any advice would be very welcome
    Cheers

Ive read and heard from friends that the battery has been improved from the 8800 series although it is supplied with two batteries also.
I have the original 8800 and im very satisfied with it.
I dont use the camera and music, video and bluetooth functions which all add up to drain the battery.
I get 2-3 days from each battery.
The scricco has a better camera {which i dont use} and has the powersaver option cured. ie : it scrolls down the screen unlike the 8800 which does not which in time caused the lcd screen burn. It has also a better keypad, although im not sure about the thumb indentation on the slider..lol
My advice is go for it and you have been offered a decent contract too !!
I would try for a 12 month contract tho.
Some users have experienced difficulty when attempting to use the e mail function as it disappeared from the menu system when accessed. If you use e mail from your service provider then ask to try a demo fone to see what happens.
I dont use it myself as my provider gets enough money from me as it is..lol
Good luck with your choice and yes im well jealous....

  • Truth about nokia 8800 Sirocco by myself and the d...

right i saw a lot of people that need help with this issue
well first of all there is the nokia 8800 sirocco Gold and the 8800 sirocco Gold Look, don,t be mistaken the second is not a fake it is acctualy a normal silver sirocco with a gold brush.
the firt one is 18k Gold not all gold but a small layer of gold over it.
    how to spot a fake!
any IDIOT that still believes that a 8xxx serie still says made in finland, dont even reply on this post cause you got a fake sirocco.
if you have a real 8800 sirocco or 8600 luna they both will say made in GERMANY.
second, the Gold look sirocco is about 385 to 450 euros.
a realy gold edition is around 650 to 800 euro's
third, a real sirocco Gold will have a Gold certificate if it does not have that its either the Gold look or a complete Fake.
fourth, if there are no letter on the back of the phone dont, buy it,it has to say nokia 8800 Sirocco Gold right in the middle of the back, if not dont buy it.
    LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT
on this nokia site you will see my nokia, click on it make a my nokia account.
in this account you can put in imei numbers in of your nokia phone, if you got the brains this is your key for checking any imei of any nokia phone.
you will get feedback about what phone you have. this is the only true way to verify if you got the real thing!
i wish you all a good and luxery 8xxx day!

  • Nokia 8800 Sirocco case, CP-104

    Gents,
Wonder if any of you know where I can get hold of a Nokia CP-104 case for the Sirocco, I have a couple of the non-Sirocco edition phones and originally thought that the Siroccos were shipped with the same suede pouch but discovered recently that they have a nice leather looking case that I would like to use with my 8800s.

  • Nokia 8800 Arte IMEI

Just a quick one. I have seen a Nokia 8800 Arte, used, for sale at a market for £200.
I was just wondering if there's a way of checking the IMEI on the Nokia website or something so I know it's a genuine one.
Bit suspicious because it comes with 2 batteries and a 'universal charger' although the seller is adamant it's real when I asked if it was a fake.
    The IMEI is
    Thanks in advance guys.

    Hi,
Well the arte does not come with two batteries !
Check the contents of the box as it should come with a desktop charger and hands free headset.
Open the back of the handset
The battery will say BL-4U on it and will have a hologram.
The white label on the handset will say
    Nokia Corperation
    Made in Korea
    Type RM-233
    Model 8800e
it will also say 1GB in the top right hand side top corner.
Be very wary of fake chinese models are re badged original Nokia 8800's
Their is also a distinctive weight to the handset too.
The same kind of info should show when *#0000#
If your in any doubt then walk away.

  • Nokia 8800 arte

Hey everyone, im looking to buy a nokia 8800 arte, couple of questions.
Nokia 8800 Arte, Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte, Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte,Nokia 88000 Gold.
If im correct these are all the 8800's
    Just a couple of questions.
Do all of them have 4GB Memory? Just wanted to make sure because some sites state that some have 1GB memory and some have 4GB Memory?
Do every single one of these phones have the same features?
If someone could please compare and contrast them for me that would be lovely?
Also im aware their are a couple of fakes out there, just wondering if 400-500 dollars for a brand new unlocked one is gauranteed fake?
Message Edited by 613bulletproof on 12-Feb-2009 03:22 AM

    Hi
    Yes they are all 8800's
$500 dollars seems a little light even for the 8800 arte !
This is £348'ish in sterling and you would be hard pressed to get a used handset in the uk for that unless its on a contract.
Be safe and not sorry... purchase from a reputable online or highstreet retailer. Steer clear of auction sites in my humble opinion.
I have the original 8800 arte and it has 1gb of memory. The sapphire is the same.

hello, if you suspect you have adware on your system, please perform all these steps:
    # [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset firefox]] (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    # afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.

  • My nokia N-70 Music Edition Screen displayed blank...

    Hi
nokia N-70 Music Edition Screen displayed blank after few hours. After Removing battery, put again & start it becomes ok for few hours.I have already updated the Software Nokia N-70 but no advantage.
    Wht should i do?

strange enough some of the pre-installed apps on the N70 are on the memory card and not the phone memory. which means formatting the memory card will remove everything. it's difficult to get everything back but try these :
1- try to find what you need on the n70 support page
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4144775
    check phone software.
2- if you have the download app installed on your phone , run it and check for the app there.if not check the nokia download store. http://www.download.nokia.com/
3- if your mamory card is not the original provided with the phone, locate your old memory card. using a computer copy and paste the following folders from the old original one to the new one:
    * resource
    * sys
    * private (copy the subdirectories only and not the whole folder)
4- if something is still missing after all this, i guess it's gone for good
Fear not those who argue but those who dodge

  • Gefoce 8800 GT (Mac Edition) for Gamers???

So...If buy a Geforce 8800 GT (Mac Edition) in a bootcamp partition with Vista x64 i can get the best performance for games like crysis, gears of war and more.....??????
And can i use SLI mode on this card???
Cause I was planning to build up a PC only for GAMES.......
    Thanks!

I had a hard time getting bootcamp to partition it the way I wanted to.
What I actually did was I used Disk Utilities, partitioned it the way I wanted it. I had a 250GB HD (~232GB formatted), I have 80 GB for Windows XP, 100 GB for Windows Vista, the rest as a FAT32 data drive (if I want to transfer data between the two operating system, or a data partition for the two to be able to read). At first I tried 100GB for both Vista and XP but I got confused not knowing which one was which when I wanted to install, that's the reason for the difference in size, use whatever you wish. Make sure when you partition it with Disk utility, all the partitions you want Windows to be able to use is "MS-DOS" (which is FAT32). Windows Vista will need to reformat it to NTFS but you must format it as MS-DOS in Disk Utilities first.
You do not need to run Boot Camp assistant to get Windows on your system. After disk utility finished partitioning to your desire, restart your MP and hold down the option key. Select the windows installation CD. After you finished installing windows and it reboots, it might take you to OS X again. Just make sure when you reboot it again, hold down the option key, now it will show you another hard drive saying Windows.
The tricky part when installing is knowing which partition to install on. For Windows XP, the hard drives spaces are listed as MB, rather than GB.
When you have installed multiple windows (XP and Vista), if you hold down the option key, you will only see: Macintosh HD (hard drive), Windows (hard drive), and any other bootable disc you have. If you select the Windows (hard drive), it will go to a black screen for a few seconds, then it gives you the windows boot option (DOS-style), you get 30 seconds to select Windows Vista or "Older version of Windows" (which is XP).
I cannot confirm this but you need to install XP first, then Vista. As Vista is a more "later" version of Windows, it knows not to overwrite the boot-sector of XP.
To install the hardware drivers, just put in your MP restore disc 1 and run the setup.exe file, it has all the drivers for your system.
I'm sure there are better guides to help you by searching Google, but this is what I know.

  • DT-8 Stand for Nokia 8800

    Hello All,
I am trying to find an extra desk stand for my Nokia 8800, but it looks like official Nokia stores do not offer one. My local retailer doesn't have one either.
There are some on ebay, of course sellers claim that there are authentic, but I can hardly believe this. Also, found one on this site http://www.directmobileaccessories.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2236 but also have doubts about it being genuine Nokia item.
I will appreciate any advises and comments.
    Regards,
    Denis

I'm sure one has been found in the 2 years since the original post was made
This forum is for phone problems, ebay is for selling stuff.

  • What are the chances of a N95 Black Edition?

Hi guys ive been really tempted to get a N95 but im wondering if it would be worth waiting a few more months to see if there is any news of a black version. What do you guys think?

    Dual LED? Whatever for? Zenon...
    ======================
    kevineu ,
    yes, it is Dual LED.
As xenon has been proven its weakness to assume much more battery power and to flash lights "much" the makers (specially the multimedia phone makers)are thinkin' of puttin' a Dual LED in high-end multimedia phones.
Xenon does give us much more clearer and brighter image than a single LED flash but when the subject is close it just exceeds the required light it should give, on the other hand, a single LED is proven worse in all conditions except semi-light/night conditions while a Dual LED could give it a more success.
And, now to the fact, as y' know nokia has unleashed the N95 then , even if they think about a new varient of N95 such as Black edition/music edition or N95i their possibility will be stuck to that LED or to give a Dual LED. For Xenon, I think they will apply it to another new model of convergence. As for a new edition of N95 it will be sufficient to meet the battle against the battery against a dual LED if it is possible.
    Thanks.
