Nokia 8860 lock code ??

I have had a bit of a shocker, a few months back i entered in a lock code on my phone which locks the phone after a certain amount of time. I got annoyed with this so disabled the function. But now i want to re-use this function but have carlessly forgotten the lockcode.
Does any body know how I can reset this code without knowing the code ???
Many Thanks
James M

The default is 12345. If it was changed, and is now forgotten, help is as near as the closest Nokia service/repair center:

  • Reset Nokia 6300 lock code

i forgot my nokia 6300 lock code.
I even dont know how to get my phone IMEI Code
pls help me to break the code

The default code is 12345, unless you changed this and have forgotten it. This means you will have to visit a local Nokia Care point to get your phone unlocked.
You can get your IMEI code by checking the abck of yoru phone under the battery and on the box the phone came in.

The standard code is 12345 but if you changed this code and you forgot, there is only one way to solve the problem. Bring it in to a Nokia Care Center.

  • Nokia 5700 Lock Code Problems

    Hi All
    This is what I do.
Menu - Settings - Phone Settings - General - Security - Phone and Sim - Lock Code
When I select Lock Code it asks me to enter the Lock Code so I enter ANY number over 5 digits, it asks for a new lock code so I enter 67890 (5 digits), Asks to verify so I re-enter it correctly and I get a code error.
If I repeat this process 5 times it says I've entered the Lock code incorrectly and can't do it again for 5 minutes.
It also asks for this code when I attempt to reset the phone to which I enter 12345 and it errors, plus it asks for the lock code when I try to set up a timed phone lock.
If I enter any 4 digit code it just asks for Lock Code again.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks

I too attempted to take it to a Nokia Service Centre, who reflashed it but to no avail.
I then took it to an independant mobile repair centre and he was able to resolve the problem.
He advised that the lock code had been changed and they were able to read it (giving me the old code which I didn't recognise) and then resetting it to 0000.
I would have thought the NSC reflash would have resolved this.

  • Nokia n96 - lock code

Ok here it goes, i want to restore my phone to factory settings but when i do, it asks me for a lock code an i dont have a clue where to get this, could anyone help me pelase.

    Sorry but we can't help.
If Movistar has changed the security code from the default 12345 then Movistar are the people you should be contacting.
Are you sure it's not you who've changed the security code?
Try doing a hard reset. The end result is the same and it might reset the security code as well (but don't count on it). Switch the phone off. Press the green "call" key and 3 and *. Keep these buttons pressed down while switching the phone on and maintain pressure on them until the phone shows signs of life such as the region selection screen or the "handshake" logo.
As a last resort you can take the phone with proof of purchase (so they know that it is really your phone and not one you "found") along to your nearest Nokia Care Point and ask them to reset the security code for you. This might result in the phone being reformatted but that's what you want anyway if you're trying to do a soft reset.

  • Nokia n96 lock code problem

I forget my master reset code so can't reset my nokia n96 & also can't use any mamory card.Whn i put in any mamory card thn phone asking for  lock code but i 4get tht...I updte my firmware but still its not fixed...So plz some1 help me...Thnx

If you have changed the code from the standard 12345 then there isn't a way to recover the code.
You could try the hard reset (hold down the *, 3 and green keys whilst the phone is switched on until at least the handshake logo), or have the phone flashed at a Nokia service point. Either way, the phone will be completely wiped so you need to back up important data like contacts and messages first.

    @artjoms23
How about going to Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Security > Phone and SIM > scroll down to Phone autolock period = None - thinks it asks for your lock code again before allowing you to change.

  • Nokia E61i Lock code

Many years ago i bought nokia E61i and i left it to stay. Now i wanna use it but i can,t. I tried many things: 1. hard reset (1,*, Okey button and power button,) . I have allso tried mastercode. Maybe someone knows other options to get off the security code.

    > the ONLY solution is to get the code reset at Nokia Care.
How does Nokia Care reset the code? Key in a special reset code, shortcut somewhere on the motherboard or send a reset command via USB? Or speak "I am Nokia" to the phone?? :-))

    Started From Nokia 3310 , Now with Nokia N97 v.22.0.110 + N900 PR1.2

Try pulling out the battery first for at least 5 mins.
If it won't work, I cannot think of something else than bring it down to a Nokia care point with a proof of ownership.
If you bought it this week, you might wanna try to take it back to the store and get it replaced.

  • Help. Nokia C7 lock code forgotten

I bought a Nokia C7 2 weeks ago..I changed the security code but I forgot it...I am in a big trouble now every time I try to open it..It demands the security code...Please help what can I do?
MODERATOR'S NOTE:  We have edited your post. Please refrain from posting numerous characters. Posting with a brief and concise concern would be enough to gather solution.

There is no way to retrieve your security code if you have forgotten it.
Its down to the fact that is a security function, and would be useless if anyone could simply override it.
The only people who can reset this for you would be a Nokia Care point.
You will have to pay for the service, as it is not a warranty fault.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Lost my N8 Lock Code !

yes as my topic says i lost my  nokia n8 lock code >.> but i dont need to hard rest it , is there any another way to unlock it pls?

The procedure itself is simple and does not take long but you will need to contact the care point and ask them because they may have a wait list. The care point in Ireland will do it for you while you wait if you are willing to pay €20 extra.

  • How do I set up a lock code for my Nokia C2-02?

Hi, I have a used Nokia C2-02 phone from a seller on eBay.
I wish to protect my privacy so that other people cannot access my texts, etc.
When I go to 'settings', 'security', and click on 'access codes', in order to set up a lock code,  the display says'change security code'.
When I ckick on it, I get a request for my security code.
Twice now I have keyed in'12345', which I take to be the default code.
Each time I get an error message and the second time it said that I have only one more chance to key in the correct code.
Perhaps the previous owner had a code, which I take to be the same as a security keyguard code.
When I go to 'device' in 'settings', it says that the security keyguard is off.
I can switch it on, but to activate it I again need to key in a code.
Am I corect in thinking that either someone has alrerady set up a code or the default code is not '12345'?
Also, What can I do to set up my own code?
Fianally, What if I use a pin code? Will that protect my privacy?
Do I have to get in touch with my network provider ( Tesco Mobile) in order to set it up?
I'd appreciate any help anyone can give,
    Laurence

If I used a  pin code instead, would it protect my privacy?
would it stop those without the code reading my texts and so on?
PIN Code is basically for the SIM card and not the phone. Talking of privacy, your phone will be fully explorable if the SIM card is removed, so PIN scenario is pretty wasteful. Majority of the phones only ask for the PIN code when the phone is started and register the SIM to the network only wen PIN is furnished.
If It does not work I could find that I have locked the phone, which could necessitate sending it to the Nokia Care centre.
This is where the online free service may come in. It claims that it can find the security mastercode for any individual phone, based on the IMEI number, which you access by keying in asterisk, hash, 06, hash, or by taking the back off the phone and looking inside.
Armed with the 10-digit mastercode you key it in and it unlocks the phone.
That, at least, is the claim, but on another mastercode site there's a warning that the mastercode works only for older models.
I have my mastercode, but I don't know whether to take the chance.
Does anyone have any views on this?.
    , Cheers, Laurence
Unfortunately, these type of Master Codes do not work. If ever they worked, the phones would become too easy to break in. As far as I can remember, I have not seen any person with a claim that one of those Master Codes worked for them. Maybe they worked for very very old 1st gen devices from Nokia, but not anymore. The security code is based on what user enters in the settings and there doesn't exist any master code to over-ride that. If it would, Nokia Care should be making use of that instead refurbishing/flashing the phones in every case that called for Keyguard Code.
