Nokia 920 on Pay Mountly account does not work in Europe..again.

So this is the second holiday I have gone on with my Nokia 920 and its not worked in Europe.I've had phone and account for well over a year now.Am on a Pay monthly deal and activated the "Euro Talk & Text Booster" before I left. Checking my account - it is still active. Would not work - again. Pretty dissapointed, and if it happens again I will consider my options when it comes to renewing my account.. Annoyingly my wife and son's Nokia 620 and iphone 4 respectively both worked with cheap'n'cheerful GiffGaff PAYG accounts, but not my Pay Monthly phone. In all countries an Automatic search found nothing. Manual search in any location (France, Italy, Gibraltar and Portugal) found networks, but when I selected any of them it would say they could not be connected, whereas the Giffgaff phones worked with any network they found. Sorry for the delay...
I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.

You don't input the information in manually for iCloud mail. It is automatically set up for you when you sign into iCloud via System Preferences and choose the Mail checkbox. Sign out of iCloud or deselect Mail in iCloud preferences. Open Mail's preferences and choose accounts tab. If iCloud account still exists in the list, delete it. Sign back into iCloud or check the box for mail. The account will be auto created for you.

Windows 8.1 Standard with Microsoft Account does not work with WSE 2012

I have a WSE 2012 machine with 3 users & 3 devices setup.
My Windows 8 (Standard) Laptop with Local User connects fine.
My Windows 8.1 (Standard) Nettop with Local User connects fine.
But my Windows 8.1 (Standard) Laptop with a Microsoft Account does not automatically login to the Server. It worked fine when it was running Windows 8 with a Local User but unfortunately in 8.1, MS decided to force a Microsoft Account login on us if I want
to continue to use Sky Drive! That would be fine, but now it wont login to their own server product...
I've tried adding a Windows Credential (set at Enterprise level) to the Credentials manager but it just gets forgotten on reboot.
If I log into the LaunchPad (which creates a temporary credential) then it works fine HOWEVER the "remember me" tick box is being ignored and the next time I restart the PC the LaunchPad is signed out again!
I've re-installed the connector.
I've removed the PC from WSE, un-installed the connector and then re-joined. (Done this twice, once as a local user and then converted to MS Account, and once as an MS Account.)
Basically, I just don't think WSE2012 with non-Pro versions of 8.1 on a MS Account have been tested and MS need to either fix it or document it. If someone could just get the LaunchPad to remember my local login and automatically start on next reboot then
it wouldn't be a problem. OR stop launch pad from deleting the manual credentials I added everytime I reboot. At the moment it's the worst of both worlds.
Any ideas?

Thanks very much for replying, but if you re-read my post you'll see that I already know how to do that and also that I don't want to change back to a local account because I need Skydrive access.
Essentially as it stands, I can use Windows 8.1 with WSE but lose SkyDrive (and any other MS Account benefits) or I can use an MS Account with Windows 8.1 but lose permanent access to my server shares and client backups...
Reading around it seems that it's perfectly possible to have an MS Account and then do one of the following:
Use a Windows Credential stored for the local user to give access to the Server.
Set the LaunchPad to automatically log in at start-up.
If on a Domain, go into settings and Link the MS Account to your Domain Account.
Unfortunately none of these options are working for me (3 isn't even possible with 8.1 Std).

Nokia N8 Belle 'Vodafone skype app 'does not work

I spoke to vodafone oz, who said that Nokia have not sent belle over to them for testing yet....it's HIGHLY FRUSTATING to upgrade to belle, than not be able to use vodafone's own skype app (so i can get unlimited data very cheaply).....firstly it's a shame vodafone put a wrapper app behind skype in the first place!!! For now I have to just use skype from the ovi store and use my data allowance. Anyhow, will nokia be sending over belle anytime soon to vodafone australia????????? They said until they do and it passes testing, it won't be supported...I wish I had stuck with anna now, which nokia informed me can't be rolled back to. It seems nothing is easy!

Hi, thanks for the reply...the problem is that vodafone do UNLIMITED skype for $3...but you HAVE to download their skype wrapper program....the ovistore one is not free, as it uses data.....basically vodafone enforce you to use their skype wrapper program to get the unlimited data allocation.
I have the ovistore skype version, but this does not solve my problem. Vodafone are not supporting belle until nokia send them the sofware. They support anna, so thats why the skype wrapper program works with anna, and then you can use the unlinited $3 package.
Basicall for belle, when you choose skype for vodafone it says "phone not supported"
if you use anna, it says "phone supported" and vodafone skype program can be downloaded
is nobody else getting annoyed by this???????

E.mail alias with mac account does not work...

I created an alias on my mac account. I made a new account in mail app, but am not sure what username it needs. Does it need the original username of the account holder or the part that is before the at in the alias email address?
It keeps asking for my password when checking mail, I know the password is correct as it should be the same mac account password as always right?
I need the second address for business, and it is pretty urgent. Can someone enlighten me? I tried to look it up in the help, but I don't see anything.

You cannot access a .Mac account alias as a separate account in Mail.
The following was copied from Mail Help:
If you have a .Mac account, you can send and receive email using .Mac email aliases. An email alias is an alternate email address for your .Mac account.
To send a message from a .Mac email alias:
Choose File > New Message to open a compose message window.
Click the Account pop-up menu and choose the email alias.
When you send the message, it will appear to come from your email alias.
Messages addressed to your .Mac email alias will arrive in your .Mac account inbox.
To set up a .Mac email alias, choose Mail > Preferences and click Accounts. Select your .Mac account and click Account Information. Click Edit Email Aliases to go to the .Mac website. Log into your account. Click Accounts and then, in the Email Aliases section, click Create Alias (if none exist yet) or click the Add button (if at least one exists already). ICloud for a family account does not work

We could not use iCloud for our family for multiple computers and devices with one [email protected] The details..
These are our devices -
Two iPhone 4's (me and my wife)
One iPhone 3G (my daughter)
MacBook Pro
MacPro
Mac Mini
iPad2
We want to use one [email protected] account for iTunes
To use iCloud on all my iPhones with one [email protected] account, all our contacts, calendars, photos will be downloaded to all devices. The problems are - Why would my calendar, contacts and emails show up on my wife's and daughters iPhones
The reason to use one [email protected] account for all computers, iPhones and iPads are - any iTunes purchases need to be available for the entire family to enjoy. If we used different @mac.com accounts, we will have to purchase the same song or iBook multiple times. This defeats the main reason for iCloud.
I am shocked that Apple did not envision this problem with one family account. If they do have a solution, I could not find it. I called technical support as well as go to the local genius bar. They all suggested getting different @mac.com accounts for each iPhone device. This is counterproductive and defeats the purpose of one ecosystem that Steve Jobs always preached.
Any suggestions..

You can use one Apple ID in itunes for all your purchases.
You can also use different IDs in iCloud so that each ID keeps whatever devices are registered to that ID are kept in sync. If you don't want you wife's and your calendars to be identical, then you need different IDs. Again, you can all keep the same Apple ID for your iTunes purchases.

Since the update my imap mail account does not work

Well, it still owrks on my imac but not on iphone or ipad. Settings are exactly the same on all three. I deleted the mail account on the ipad and ipone and re-set them up but still doesnt work. All I get is the spinner and mail hangs forever eventually it says that the mail server is not responding and to verify that Ive entred the correct account info in the mail settings. I have! Several times....

Connecting more than 5 Apple TVs to a user account does not work!!!

I have purchased a number of Apple TVs to my company to distribute information in the coffe-rooms as picture-shows from iPhoto.
I asked the Apple store where I bought the units if there where any limits of number of units to be connected, and the answer was no. I was very surprised while trying to connect the 6th unit, when iTunes said I was not allowed to connect more units.
Can anyone tell me if there is a solution, and if not, could Apple please tell me if I could return my 10 units to the original Apple store where I bought the units as no documents or information has informed me about this strange limit.

A bit of a fudge but if you are mainly planning to sync content to these AppleTVs and don't require live streaming, then I can see no reason why you couldn't create a new user and sync the next 5 Apple Tvs with that iTunes instance - as I say provided you're not updating the photos every five minutes and you're not syncing many GB of data that changes frequently, then when anything is updated you just have to log in to each user in turn and sync the respective AppleTVs.

You can only purchase Apple media (from iTunes and App Store) from the country's store in which you are physically located and yo must have a payment method associated with that country.
If the app is not available in your country's store yo have to go to a county that has the app to download it.

Registering a computer on a bank account does not work on some sites. I continually get asked to register the computer

Logging in to several financal sites (most work ok) results in a message stating that the computer is not recognzed and asks a security question if I wish to continue and want to register this computer (as opposed using a public computer) . The next time around, after registering the computer, I get asked the same thing. Seems like the Adobe flash stuff is not sticking for some sites. Any solution ?
