Nokia 9500 - Bluetooth auto start!

The bluetooth on my Nokia 9500 auto starts from time to time even though is switched off in the Settings menu.

All Right Mobile Maniac.
I have seen another discussion re the log file problems with the same effects on the phone performance. I am wondering how many are bothered about this matter and how many report it. Most of us do not bother to waste time on a discussion board, but think on how quick to make the next buck... Most of us will return the phone to the shop, upgrade or chop it away and get a different model. It is only few of us who realy wonder why this thing happens or the other does not with a phone or anything else. I have not tried the 5-10 days time lenght for the log file, but I'll do it in the future and come back to the forum with the results. The firmware version of my phone is: v 05.22(01) 03-06-2005 RA-2. Is there an update? How do I update it?
Thanks,
Julian

  • Music auto start on Bluetooth iOS

I have experienced a problem with Music on my iPhone (4,5 & 6) auto starting when I connect it to my Bluetooth device (Acura TL, Bose speakers, etc.).  This is not isolated to the car and appears to be an issue with my iPhone and not the Bluetooth device.  Especially given it happens on all my Bluetooth devices.  I have tried to delete songs on the phone and stop Music/iTunes from accessing data, and nothing seems to work.
Another unusual thing is that Music seems to pull the songs from iTunes even though I've stopped the data usage for both programs.  How the heck is it still playing music with both programs forbidden to use data???????
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I know that Music APPS can do this from time to time when Bluetooth headsets are involved. e.g., WinAmp had this issue at 1 time whereby it would "take over" any Bluetooth connection so that pressing the PLAY button on my headset would start my last WinAmp song -- even though I was listening to another APP at the time - like TuneIn Radio or iHeartRadio. This resulted in both playing at the same time.
Maybe take a look at which Music APP you have installed and uninstall it and test for a few days?  (which one(s) did you install?)

  • Auto-Start Slacker or Pandora on Bluetooth Connect

Does anyone know of a way to auto-start Slacker, Pandora or any other internet music app for that matter each time your phone connects to a bluetooth device.
Right now I have my Iphone4 auto-connect to my Pioneer AVIC D3 in my truck and I would like it to start one of those apps each time it makes a connection. My Verizon Iphone4 is running 4.2.8 (8E401)
    Thanks!

  • Nokia 9500 connect without Bluetooth

    Hi all!
I have searched the forums and on google, but didn't find any answers.
Everybody (who has one) seems to connect their Nokia 9500 Communicator via Bluetooth to a Powerbook.
Is there a possibility to connect via the provided USB-cable? When I plug in the cable, it seems that the phone is not even recognized. It should show up in Network preferences --> Network Port Configurations, shouldn't it? So that I can set it up as a wireless modem.
Is there anything that I am missing?
I hope you can give me some pointers.
    thanks and kind regards, Herlind

Unfortunately, iSync does not support the synchronization of Nokia mobile handsets via USB: you must use a Bluetooth link.
If your computer is not equipped with built-in Bluetooth, you can purchase a D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth USB adapter—which is explicitly supported by Apple, and to which you can apply Apple Bluetooth firmware updates—or, you can take your chances [with varying degrees of success] with other Bluetooth adapters.
You might want to browse or search the Other Bluetooth Devices forum for more information about this issue. It is located here:

  • Nokia 9500 boot up problem

I'm still using the Nokia 9500 and still loving it despite having the E90 now. I use the fax features a lot and love the sms scheduling function which sadly none is present in the E90.
Lately, I have problems of booting up. Each time, a battery is took out and whenever I boot it up, the problem starts when I set the date and time, it becomes awfully slow. Unable to move at all. If I did not set the date and time, no issue. But once I start set the date and time, it becomes terribly slow. Many times, I had to plug out the battery a couple of time before it works but had to ensure that auto time update is on. I tried update the firmware which I had to pay since no more warranty but it still gives the problem. My firmware version now is v.06.27(00).
    Anybody encounter this problem?

  • Email sending in Nokia 9500

Dear Friends - I have Nokia 9500. I am able to receive emails but not able to send emails. My incoming pop port is 110 and outgoing server smtp port number is 2525. My phone is not taking in four digit smtp number? Does that mean that Nokia 9500 does not support four digit outgoing server smtp number? Or it means that I need to upgrade my firmware? Please help! Thanks

    Dear Colin
I hope you have the incoming and outgoing port numbers of rediffmail. The incoming is usually 110 and server is pop.rediffmail.com. This can be set up with your username and password and hope you start receiving the emails. For outgoing it may be a problem is setting up the number which is probably 25, smtp.rediffmail.com with smtp authentication. If this does not work then you can route your sending with putting in the gmail as the outgoing server (with this, although the email goes from gmail but your rediff email id will show to the recipient and you will receive the reply in rediff also).
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Nokia 9500 Driving me mental!

I've a Nokia 9500 and I can't get it to sync. I've tried the elaborate fixes and the software installs and nothing works. I can pair it but it won't sync. I have a P910i and I want to send my address book to the 9500 and it seems to go as a bluetooth send (all.vcf) but the file is never there. I've 427 contacts so one by one is not an option. Please help.

  • Auto-Start Voice Recorder

Is there a Voice Recorder app that will auto-start recording when the app opens? Absolute minimal interface for a quick recording when on-the-go.

Hi, LumiaLover26. Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions. What do you mean by "running in the background"? Do you mean that it will still record even if you open another apps? You can download 3rd party apps from the store which supports this functionality: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/search?q=voice+recorder.
You can also use OneNote to record and insert audio files in your note. Here's how to: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp8/apps/use-onenote-mobile. Hope this helps.

  • What is Auto start in j2me apps?

Hey, i want to know i have application like opera mini signed application. When i give him application access under that there is Auto start in that i have selected allways allowed. But i don't know what is Auto Start in nokia s40. If anyone know's plz tell me in detail or short about that.
    My mobile is nokia 5300.

I don't have a 5300 but if there is an option to change the short cut in settings for standby, you can choose any application that you wanted, in your case opera mini. If will not load automatically when switch on, but easy to access.

  • Nokia 9500

I have a Nokia 9500 which I have never really used properly. However I have lots of telephone numbers on it and I want to put them into my Mac Book contacts. Can I sync the two up? I only need to do it once and then I am going to bin the Nokia as the screen is partially disconnected from the keypad and in danger of dying all together.
    Anyone help?

If you're still seeking solution, download "best vCard" for the 9500. This will allow you to batch-convert all of your 9500 contacts into one vCard file.
Bluetooth this file to your Mac.
Doubleclick onto the vCard file; Address book will open and ask permission to import all contacts.
Note: I think that in "Address Book", you need to go to preferences, select "vCard", and select vCard version 2.1/Mac OS Roman in order for this to work.
Good luck, it worked for me (1500+ contacts), a few minor bugs.

  • Nokia 9500 connection problems

    Hi,
I have a nokia 9500, and I am unable to synchronise my phone and pc via a USB cable. I am using the correct cable, and the latest version of the PC Suite is installed, as well as the cable drives but still, no joy. The pc picks up the phone when I plug the cable in, and reads it as "new hardware found Nokia 9500" but on trying to connect the two, the Nokia PC Sync window reports that it is "Not Connected".
The phone is switched on but the pc doesn't seem to recognise that there is a phone connected despite the USB connection detecting the phone.
    Any help would be great.

Is the problem you have related to "client is not responding"?
I received info from damn_delicious on Forum Nokia how to solve that.
    1. Unplug your phone from PC
    2. Remove battery
    3. Insert battery and start up phone.
    4. Go to Tools - Sync - press Menu - go to Tools menu - choose "reset PC sync profile" - exit
    5. Go to Tools - device manager - press Menu - go to Tools menu - choose "reset PC sync profile" - exit
    On the PC:
    1. Open "My computer" browse to C:\Documents and settings\*username*\application data\Nokia\PCSync\Syncdata - delete the folder with the long number (this is just your computer that remembers your phones sync settings)
Now you have deleted all sync settings in phone and the PC. Now try to connect the phone and then try again and see if it works ;-)

  • PC Upgrader and Nokia 9500 Communicator

If anybody hears that the 9500 can be upgraded using PC Suite, please post. Or is it possible that the 9500 cannot ever be upgraded this way. If so, I will start looking for a 3rd party to upgrade to firmware version 6.27. Despite much info about this new version on the internet and 3rd parties that will install it, NOKIA US insists that it does not exist. Understand the new web browser in the 6.27 firmware version will accept cookies that are not accepted by browser in version I have. Also blackberry support. Thus any info on how the 9500 firmware can be upgraded in the U.S. would be appreciated.

hi, well i am not in the US. but today i updated my nokia 9500 software 6.27.
Maybe this version is for Europe Africa Middle east... anyway what the service center told me, that in case this is not the latest version, they usually contact Nokia to update them with the latest software for their Nokia mobiles.
so maybe you need to either contact Nokia and ask them to send the latest software to your dealer . or ask your dealer to contact Nokia

  • Printing from a Nokia 9500

hi i have a nokia 9500 and a printer with a bluetooth connection
when i try and print i get the message all the time, pairing failed yet my desktop pc prints no problem to it
also i have an old citizen PN60i i thought i would use with the Nokia
I tried printing with that using irda and its prints only about the first 9 lines of the document
    any ideas ?
    thanks
    stan

printer is an HP office jet V45. I have set the printer type to HP office jet printers, dont know how to get the firmware info.
I think the problem is the bluetooth though, i get the response "Problem detected-printing discontinued" when trying to print"
When i try to pair the devices i get "pairing failed. Do you want to try again". That is after entering the 4 digit code
Re the citizen printer, i have been on their site and dont see any drivers for the nokia, i have tried the setting "general" but it prints about 7 lines then stops
