Nokia 9500-Speaker giving problem

I have Nokia 9500, 2 years old and its speaker has started giving problems. I have got it repaired from Nokia Care point about 7 times and it works fine for 2-3 days, then it goes bad. Care point guys are not able to figure out the problem. Let me know if anyone of you have experienced this. Also how do i directly report this to Nokia, since care point guys are clueless

Sounds like a modern version of the old Psion ribbon cable failure. Yep, needs tender loving care of a Nokia Service Centre!

Nokia 9500 boot up problem

I'm still using the Nokia 9500 and still loving it despite having the E90 now. I use the fax features a lot and love the sms scheduling function which sadly none is present in the E90.
Lately, I have problems of booting up. Each time, a battery is took out and whenever I boot it up, the problem starts when I set the date and time, it becomes awfully slow. Unable to move at all. If I did not set the date and time, no issue. But once I start set the date and time, it becomes terribly slow. Many times, I had to plug out the battery a couple of time before it works but had to ensure that auto time update is on. I tried update the firmware which I had to pay since no more warranty but it still gives the problem. My firmware version now is v.06.27(00).
Anybody encounter this problem?

Nokia 9500 Media Files Problems

Hello every one
Hope you can find some solution for me. here is my problem when I recieve a media file through Bluetooth it will open but when I save it some times it will open for some days then it won`t open and some other times once I saved it shows(no application is installed for this file).
Another thing some times it will show some error when I attempt to open the File Manager then it will delete the whole files from the Memory Card.

Nokia 9500 problem: cannot find specified server

After some deliberation, I have finally managed to connect my Nokia 9500 to the internet via the WLAN router in my home. So I can access websites ok, although it's slow and some of the webpage elements don't load. Anyhoo... my problem is with Real audio files now. For some reason, it won't download them to my phone when I click save, it just gives me the message "cannot find specified server" and doesn't download anything. I even get this message sometimes as webpages are loading, but after clicking "ok" it continues to load the page and seems to work fine. Anyone know what the problem could be? I'm using a T-mobile pay-as-you-go sim in my phone and my ISP is Tiscali. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The problem is that your internal machines need to access the server's dns to resolve the host name.
2 steps.
1. Ensure that DNS in server.app is forwarding requests to your ISP dns server and that server is set to provide DNS
for some or all clients and that you have your DNS primary zone setup with a machine record for the server.
2. Change the DNS server address within network settings on all other devices to the servers tcpip address.

Nokia 9500 connection problems

Hi,
I have a nokia 9500, and I am unable to synchronise my phone and pc via a USB cable. I am using the correct cable, and the latest version of the PC Suite is installed, as well as the cable drives but still, no joy. The pc picks up the phone when I plug the cable in, and reads it as "new hardware found Nokia 9500" but on trying to connect the two, the Nokia PC Sync window reports that it is "Not Connected".
The phone is switched on but the pc doesn't seem to recognise that there is a phone connected despite the USB connection detecting the phone.
Any help would be great.

Is the problem you have related to "client is not responding"?
I received info from damn_delicious on Forum Nokia how to solve that.
1. Unplug your phone from PC
2. Remove battery
3. Insert battery and start up phone.
4. Go to Tools - Sync - press Menu - go to Tools menu - choose "reset PC sync profile" - exit
5. Go to Tools - device manager - press Menu - go to Tools menu - choose "reset PC sync profile" - exit
On the PC:
1. Open "My computer" browse to C:\Documents and settings\*username*\application data\Nokia\PCSync\Syncdata - delete the folder with the long number (this is just your computer that remembers your phones sync settings)
Now you have deleted all sync settings in phone and the PC. Now try to connect the phone and then try again and see if it works ;-)

Email sending in Nokia 9500

Dear Friends - I have Nokia 9500. I am able to receive emails but not able to send emails. My incoming pop port is 110 and outgoing server smtp port number is 2525. My phone is not taking in four digit smtp number? Does that mean that Nokia 9500 does not support four digit outgoing server smtp number? Or it means that I need to upgrade my firmware? Please help! Nokia 9500 Driving me mental!

I've a Nokia 9500 and I can't get it to sync. I've tried the elaborate fixes and the software installs and nothing works. I can pair it but it won't sync. I have a P910i and I want to send my address book to the 9500 and it seems to go as a bluetooth send (all.vcf) but the file is never there. I've 427 contacts so one by one is not an option. Please help.

The bluetooth on my Nokia 9500 auto starts from time to time even though is switched off in the Settings menu.

I have seen another discussion re the log file problems with the same effects on the phone performance. I am wondering how many are bothered about this matter and how many report it. Most of us do not bother to waste time on a discussion board, but think on how quick to make the next buck... Most of us will return the phone to the shop, upgrade or chop it away and get a different model. It is only few of us who realy wonder why this thing happens or the other does not with a phone or anything else. I have not tried the 5-10 days time lenght for the log file, but I'll do it in the future and come back to the forum with the results. The firmware version of my phone is: v 05.22(01) 03-06-2005 RA-2. Is there an update? How do I update it?

I think you have deleted some installed programs via other way than Application Manager which leaves some files on the device and while booting it can not find the source of specfied programs and gives this message.

Formula & Nokia 9500

Dear Experts,
I need people who know are both expert of phones and computer software programs. I have a developed a file in excel which has some formulas and it's working properly in PC but when I transfer my file to my Nokia 9500 one portion of the formula is not working due to syntax error. means my mobile doesn't accept the sign of ( which we use it in excel file formulas for specifying a range of creteria. So can anyone tell me if I can use another sign in mobile format which will replace ( range sign. e.g. (A1:C6)?

KERN-EXEC ERRON IN MY NOKIA 9500

I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT NEW NOKIA 9500. I LOVE THIS MOBILE TO USE.
BUT I GOT VEY BIG PROBLEMS IN MY COMUNICATOR.
I AM NOT ABLE TO CALL ANY ONE FROM MY CONTECT LIST FROM OUT SIDE OF THE PHONE. AND ALSO NOT ABLE TO CHECK MISSED CALL, RECENT CALL, AND DIAL CALL. EVEN I AM NOT ABLE TO READ MESSAGE FROM. I CAN`T DO ANYTHING FROM MY COMINICATOR FROM OUTSIDE KEYPAD.
I HAVE TO OPEN COVER AND HAVE TO WORK WITH THE PHONE EVERYTIME WITH INSIDE KEYPAD.

Sounds quite serious. I'd suggest taking a backup of your phone, format it, then restore the backup - that should sort it out.
To format the communicator, remove and then replace the battery. Then when you see the word Nokia in blue on the inside screen, hold down the ctrl, shift and F keys simultaneously. After the word Nokia disappears and before the Nokia handshake logo appears, you should be given the option to completely format the device .
ALL DATA on the phone memory will be completely erased and the original settings restored so make sure you have any important data backed up.
If you didn't get the option to format the device before the Nokia handshake logo appears, repeat the same process again and hopefully you will receive the option before this logo appears.

Printing from a Nokia 9500

hi i have a nokia 9500 and a printer with a bluetooth connection
when i try and print i get the message all the time, pairing failed yet my desktop pc prints no problem to it
also i have an old citizen PN60i i thought i would use with the Nokia
I tried printing with that using irda and its prints only about the first 9 lines of the document
any ideas ?

printer is an HP office jet V45. I have set the printer type to HP office jet printers, dont know how to get the firmware info.
I think the problem is the bluetooth though, i get the response "Problem detected-printing discontinued" when trying to print"
When i try to pair the devices i get "pairing failed. Do you want to try again". That is after entering the 4 digit code
Re the citizen printer, i have been on their site and dont see any drivers for the nokia, i have tried the setting "general" but it prints about 7 lines then stops
