Connect your phone to a computer & select Nokia Suite mode. If you do not have Nokia Suite on your pc you can download it from here. Now open the Nokia Suite & click on the “green icon of arrow pointing downwards”.
If any updates are available they will be shown in ‘green’. If not you may reinstall the current version. Reinstall option is shown in ‘blue’. If no option to reinstall is shown, please wait for sometime it will become visible.  Then the Nokia Suite will download the new software version of the phone. After it you will be prompted to take a complete back up of the device content. Please do not skip this step as reinstallation will erase all the personal data from the phone like contacts, messages, calendar entries etc.
Please note that if you have set a memory card password & you have forgotten its code then take a backup of the card data also as the card will be locked after update and can only be unlocked if you enter the correct code or by ways mentioned in this thread.
Also note that while updating the device ensure the following things-
The device is full charged.
The internet connection Is of good speed & has a backup in case of power loss.
The PC should also be connected to back up power source as if the process is interrupted the phone may go dead. More on update failure & its remedies here.
Please do not run any resource intensive programs in the background while updating as it may freeze the PC which in turn will lead to a dead device.
Ignore all the windows pop-up notifications about device being disconnected.DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE UNTIL UPDATE IS COMPLETED.
It will be better if you disable security keyguard & PIN code request before proceeding with Update/Reinstallation.
If your phone shows test mode then do not panic & DO NOT REMOVE the cable, let the update process complete.
If any problem persists please visit the nearest authorised Nokia Care Centre.

  • Problem with Nokia Asha 200 apps

    Hello guys,
    I am using Nokia Asha 200 and i am quite satisfy with this phone. The only drawback that i can find is that i cannot ue it social prebuild apps, like Social and i cannot use the e-mail app as well.
    When i open them and accept the license, i am waiting for the software to connect to internet and update it self's, but this never happen. I tried to wait for the apps to finish with there updates but after 10 minutes of inactivity it become clear that it will never happened. 
    In comparison when i am using the Nokia Web Browser i don't have any problems with opening web pages. The difference between the browser and the apps is that when i browse i see on the top left part of the screen the "E" symbol which indicates that the phone is connected to Edge network, but when i use Social, E-mail or even other apps i had downloaded from Ovi store i am not able to use them. For instance most apps i had download indicate me network connectivity problems. The only app i can use with my 3G internet is Nokia browser.
    My software version is:10.58.

    You have two options to resolve the issue:
    Update the phone's software.
    Ask for the configuration settings from your network provider.

    Get started
    Back up (recommended)
    Install
    Restore (optional)
    Finish
    Please do not disconnect your phone until the installation is completely finished. Doing so might cause damage to your phone or result in its contents being lost.

  • The mail option in my nokia asha 200 is not respon...

    I have a nokia asha 200. I update my phone when new updates are available. But i had to restore the settings of my phone to factory settings due to a problem occured while using themes downloaded from mobile9.com. But after i restored my mobile the mail option didn't respond. When i clicked on that icon nothing is showing. Then i clicked the goto option of my mobile and from there when i clicked the mail shortcut at that time it was showing that the application is invalid, please try later. Then i restarted my mobile. But i am still facing the same problem and now no mail shortcut is showing in the goto option. Even no mail option is showing when i try to add new shortcuts in the goto option of my mobile. Please help me out.

    If  you are not able to open the mail app using main menu, then it might have deleted.
    Better backup important data and reinstall the phone software using Nokia suite .

    Every user of the new Nokia Asha 200 suffers from the echo problem, is it a software or a hardware isse?
    And if it's a software issue when will the new software update be released to solve this issue?

    We are unable to provide information concerning the future SW update of the said device. However, once an update is available for the said device, Armagon posts it here containing the version and the enhancements included.

    My problem is i cannot update my my mobile Nokia asha 200 even the update is available is it says not enough phone memory even from that i format the phone memory then also says not enough phone memory try again free some space what to do now update is 49 mb and phone memory is 27 mb so please help me

    You don't mention whether you have microSD memory card installed in your Asha 200, which may be possible solution.

    have you checked if there are any firmware updates available for your device via Nokia Suite on your PC? If there is, please update to the latest version offered. If that doesn't work, then try restoring your phone to factory settings, or if that doesn't work, then to re-install your current firmware via Nokia Suite.
    Failing that, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect. to locate nearest Nokia care: http://nokia.com/support

    Thanks for your quick reply. 
    Have you spoken to your local Care line? You should definitely be able to redownload free apps from the Nokia Store > My Stuff. Your Care line will be able to send your already paid for applications via a text message to your phone, so that you can redownload the apps without having to pay for it again.
    If you've tried the above and it doesn't work, even after updating or reinstalling the current software, there will be something wrong with the phone. In that case I would like to advise you to visit a local Care centre where the firmware can be reinstalled. Do make a back up with Nokia Suite first as all your data will be deleted off your phone.
    After the firmware has been reinstalled the phone should work like it should again. Contact your local Care line afterwards who will send the paid apps to your phone. You can restore the back up in Nokia Suite by clicking on Tools > Restore.

    I bought a Nokia Asha 200 and i have come to realise that it is only the Nokia Browser that can use the internet.
    All other apps like opera mini,social,shazam,game gift cant work

    Thank you for posting and welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions! 
     We'd like to know what exactly is happening to your phone. As you stated, Internet connection is working properly with the Nokia Browser only However, when you open the other applications you mentioned, are you getting any error message? Do the apps open or they just keep on loading and log out back to the Menu?
    Here are some steps that you may try to fix the issue:
    1. Restart the phone. Don't forget to remove and replace the back cover and the battery before restarting.
    2. Restore Factory Settings. Check this link for the steps: Restore-Factory-Settings .
    3.Update or reinstall phone software. Check for available software updates using Nokia Suite and install them into the phone. Check this link for the instructions: nokia.com/softwareupdate .
    If there is no update available, look for the 'Reinstall' option in Nokia Suite under SW Updates, and then Device Software.
    4.Perform a full reset. Consider this as your last option if all the previous steps failed. This will erase all user data and making a backup is advised. Check this link for the steps: Create-a-Backup. 
    To fully reset the phone, follow step 2 but select 'Restore All Settings' instead of 'Settings only'.

    Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
    It seems that VBAG is only available for Series 60 phones and because of that will not install on your Asha 200, which is Series 40. As the application is a video game emulator, thus making it's legality debatable, it is not something that can be promoted or downloaded on Nokia Store.
    The likely reason for the lack of Series 40 version is that the application requires quite a lot of processing power and even on Series 60 phones the it reportedly can run only 5 frames per second.

    I am using nokia asha 200.It is very slow and it takes long time in opening folder.And my nokia music store is also not opening.
    How can i solve these problems?And i also wanted to know that if there a antivirus for this mobile handset...?

    If there is a lot of content in a folder, it is normal for the phone to take some time in opening that. Try making multiple sub-folders to properly allocate your data.
    Do you have some phone memory free? When you run out of phone memory or its very less free memory left, the device starts running slow as because it uses come of the phone memory to as physical memory.
    What error do you experience when opening Nokia Music? Does it suddenly close? If so, your phone needs a Firmware Re-Install. You can give Nokia Suite a chance to do that or better visit a Nokia Care Center.
    Your phone doesn't need a Anti-Virus that's why there is no such product available. Asha series phones run on S40 OS and it cannot be infected by viruses. Viruses can't bring any harm to its file system

    Further to the post by adrianhughes , Remove the SIM and Memory Card and switch the phone ON. Check if the problem remains. If the phone remains ON without any issues, insert the SIM and the MC but one at a time. If the problem reappears with the SIM inserted, you may get the SIM replaced thru' your Operator. Most Operators do that for Free. If the problem comes back when you insert the MC, back-up its content on the PC and Format the MC. Then try again ..

    I am unable to skip to previous or next song while playing music on my Nokia Asha 200 . SW11.81.
    Neither does the next song play automatically after the current song ends.
    I am quite surprised.

    Are you playing songs through the Music Player itself and selecting an entire album, or are you playing through the File Manager? If you play through the file manager, then it will only play the one song and not the rest.
    Anyways, i would suggest checking via Nokia Suite if there are any firmware updates available for yoru device, and if there is, to update to the latest version offered. If that doesn't eventuate, then try re-installing your current firmware thru Nokia Suite, and if that doesn't work either, then to Restore your phone to factory settings.
    Failing that, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care for them to inspect: http://nokia.com/support

    Back-up your data and then Factory Reset your phone ...(Menu-->Settings-->Restore Factory settings-->Settings only.. followed by 12345 which is default security code, unless set by you) .. When the phone reboots, check whether these .nrw files are now converted to .jpg .. If so, you should be able to delete them now ...
