Nokia Asha 302 software update

Ever since I downloaded an update my phone will not "create a secure connection". Tries but is unable to. I'm no phone/software genius so can someone please explain VERY CLEARLY what I need to do.

You mean secure connection in internet.
Make sure that the date on your phone is correct. Apps like opera mini doesnot work with wrong date setting.

Nokia asha 309 software update problem

i bought my brand new ASHA 309 recently. but i am facing a problem regarding the software update.
when i try to update my software using fota or nokia suite it show up to date. but my version of software is 5.85v
i really need the update.
how do i do it??
and even some help through nokia in the coming software update
please give an option to add walpaper even on the swipe screens ( shortcut one)
copy paste option really need it.
and even whatsapp performance
kindly consider my problem regarding the update first and also consider my request regarding the next update

Did you double check the Nokia Product Code on the label (of your phone) and within the tool? I am very curious why I do not see that code.

Nokia Asha 310 software update and improvements

Can you add these features if you build the new software update for nokia asha 310 ?
1. Add Nokia Internet Radio.
2. Add Inbox view features for messages
3. Select , copy, paste , text in browser, applications, message like other s40 phones.
4. Support to swf file. Phone has flash lite but not support the swf file .
5. Video player interface is not good please place the video controls in bottom.
6. Password protection option in message , contacts, gallary.
7. Add feature phone shows all notification into the notification bar.
8.Sound on off option in camera.

I had the same problem when I had to select one (key) option from several from an pre recorded menu of options. The keypad would lock up in a few seconds and I had to quickly press the lock button on the side of the phone to unlock the keypad, by that time I had lost track of what the automated message was saying - very frustrating and not user friendly at all. There should be something that Nokia can do to deactivate this auto keypad lock feature. Thanks.

the FOTA update packages for the latest Asha 305 update were quite big (around 5 MB) and it takes some additional space on top of that to get the package installed to the phone. If there is a memory card inserted to the phone, the update package should get downloaded to memory If not, then phone memory is used for the whole process. Asha 305 does not have a lot of free phone memory even in fully clean state (~10 MB), so this can be a problem.
ways to work around this memory limitation:
* use a memory card in the phone - then the FOTA update package should get downloaded there instead of phone memory. If needed, you can also transfer pics, videos, user installed apps to the memory card to free up space.
* alternatively you can update the device with Nokia Suite on your PC. With that update method there's no similar memory limitation, so having a memory card is not necessary.
* If the above options do not work, as a "last resort" you could take the phone to a Nokia Care service for update/reflashing.

Nokia asha 310 software update trouble

I have downloaded a software and when i begun to install,it showed Delete some items. So i deleted everything frm my phone, but it again showed same message. As there are system files that are taking too much memory and i am unable to delete them so i can't instal the software.

Speed of whatsapp with Nokia Asha 302

I am a long time Nokia fan and wanted to buy Nokia Asha 302. I would prefer having a qwerty physical keypad and this is the best option available in Nokia now.
I am using an android phone too with 1.2GHZ dual core processor + 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory
Nokia Asha has 1 GHZ single core processor + 128 MB RAM and 100 MB onboard memory.
Whatsapp takes a lot of space and memory atleast in Android.
Will the application be cope up on Asha 302 which doesn't have great hardware?

Actually the thing is that the Asha runs a very light java based OS and here apps can't be that heavy. Talking of whatsapp, the application size is barely 2MB and runs in its alloted 4MB of heap and now you're going to feel some difference in the quality of the apps in android and as in asha. Don't expect whatsapp integration directly in your address book and the gallery.
But i must say that whatsapp does run smoothly and perfectly in the Asha phones. Not a super rich experience, but its simplicity has its own class. You are able to send messages smoothly and emojis can be used aswell.
Another thing worth mentioning is that whatsapp team is working continuously to improve the app. Not sure about the 302, but Voice messaging has been introduced in the touch based Asha phones.
Besides the 302, you can also have a look at the newer 210. But yeah it has lesser hardware speas than the 302. But still a nice option if you are not looking for 3G.
