Nokia Barcode Reader or Aftermarket App ?

This is my first post...
Could some one with good Lumia 920 know how tell me how I use the Barcode Scanner/Reader on my Lumia 920, or, if i have to download a specific app to do such ?
Also iv seen where you hold your camera up to text in a foreign language and it converts it on the screen in to your chosen language. How do i access this on my phone ?
Just like to say iv never been so pleased with any mobile phone or device as i have my Lumia 920. Suffered the vibrate rattle and EE simply sent me a new one out the next day and took my defexted model away. Great service, Great phone !!

None yet, because Palm hasn't released support for the camera in the software development kit (SDK). This support (along with support for the microphone and a number of other important capabilities) will be provided in a major update to be released by/in the fall.

Capture data from barcode reader

I would like to know if anyone knows any way of integrate a barcode reader with a web application.
I need to create a web page to confirm the reception of letters, and i use the barcode reader to read the letter number. So the web page need to received the barcode number and make the automatic submit.

when the data is read using the barcode reader u need to capture the event in ur app.Its going to be the "Carriage Return" Event. Atleast thats what occurs in our app.
on the capture of that event ..u submit ur form....
if u have the txtbox where u enter the data using thebarcode reader...then..

I've looked at the apps and the reviews, but I was hoping that someone could chime in on the barcode reading apps that may have been using them a while and had better feedback then that listed in the reviews. Any suggestions and why?

you can use the appmanager or ovi.
there are many mnay more application throujgh the appmanager.
you can view my thread at the top of this forum for the top 12 and if you find the post with the catalogs on it, just click oin the links with you n900 browser and the extra catalogs will install automaticcally for you.

Is Barcode Reading in MI Possible?

We're looking to migrate an existing mobile app (non SAP MI) to the SAP MI platform. One key feature of the existing app is that it allows the user to scan a barcode to read in part numbers.
Is it possible to add the barcode reading functionality using the MDK? I'm assuming that a special library or something would be required.
We're using Tablet PCs for our mobile environment.
If you have any insights on this issue, please let me know. It is greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike,
Yes Barcode Scanning is definately supported within MI 2.5. In fact to know what kind of support is available you can check out the MDK under Peripheral Input/Output Services(PIOS).[in NWDS goto Help topics then under SAP NetWeaverDeveloper Studio Documentation>SAP Mobile Development Kit> PIOS. You may need to use NWDS sp14, as thats when the scanner and RFID reader apis were added( the emulators too). There is helpful example code. The api covers most functionality from a barcode scanner but the limitation rises in the handheld device itself (if it has the functionality).
We used the barcode scanner on a Intermec CK31 and 750 and in both cases we didnt use the pios api because we use simple barcodes that represented text/numbers and the scanner just reads it by default into a normal text field, the rest is simple text handling code.

Email on Nokia 700 changed after Microsoft Apps. H...

After installing Microsoft Apps on Nokia 700 (111.030.0609) the standard email client changed look and feel. And it just refuses to open url links from html mail.
I removed Microsoft Apps, but old email client styling was not restored.
I made hard reset, but the client is the same.
Please, how can I get my old email client back? I don't like the new white background and changed buttons.

Maybe not possible to go back to old email unless Nokia provides any in Nokia store.
I have installed quick office pro and office word files are not opening!
Hope that Nokia and Microsoft release Office apps soon to read and edit office files.
Hope it also includes direct .txt editor too.

N95 8GB Barcode reader

I have a N95 8GB phone with S60 V3 OS loaded. The barcode does not read any data,the red/yellow rectangle/trapezium tries to box in the bar code on products but does not read anything. Can someone help?

The barcode reader is a bit tricky to use.
-you must have steady hands or better place it on a table and point it to a code.
-all it does is just translate the Bars in to numbers for you to store for records.(which never really works)
-Perhaps there is other use of it in the nokia website to create your name and generate a code to it.
- Check out this code by el_loco here. it works better with thes kind of codes.

Adobe reader 6.0 app won't open because PowerPC apps are no longer supported

I can no longer open .pdf files on my newer imac which is over 3 yrs. old, This issue seemed to have started sometime after updating to icloud & Lion?? on this imac but for some reason, I do not have the same problem on my other imac that is running the same Lion v. 10.7.2 which is over 4 yrs. old. I can see that the older imac is running Adobe Reader 9.4.6 and opens .pdf files.
Here is the error message I get on my newer imac:

I don't remember if or when I started having this problem on the newer imac but it use to open .pdf files. Nor can I find any reference to ANY Adobe Reader version other than 6.0 on this computer, Even after several tries and downloading off the Adobe web site using Safari.
I have made several attempts to download off the adobe web site using safari which shows it is downloading the app. but cannot find it anywhere on my computer's HD or Desktop even when using Spotlight to search for it.
In fear of screwing up my new 17" MBP which arrived yesterday I have not attempted to transfer any info/files/data off of my other imacs due to they info dating back to the PowerPC days that transfered during switching to newer mac models.

I have tried several times to update the Intel Mac verision of adobe but cannot find where it was downloaded to on my computer.   When I do a search on my computer, the only version that is found is the old 6.0 Power PC which is no longer supported.

Ask Apple to re-enable it. I had an unauthorized purchase last October. They disabled my account until the problem was solved. However, I asked them to reopen it, and they just asked me to provide some security information (billing address, a recent purchase you made, etc.), and then they re-enabled it.

I am going develop new barcode report in oracle apps (using standard oracle report not like xml,BI.), As i am new to this i need basic information like what are all the setup need to be done whether is possible or not , Following are the versions i am using

Sever Details:
DATABASE Server - 10g RAC enabled (Load balancer)
