Nokia Belle FP2 - Google and Bing local search res...

Hi, I've got a Nokia 700 with Nokia Belle FP2.
No matter if I use Bing or Google for searching, it does not offer any local search results to me, although the browser supports the HTML5 geolocation API.
Also, the Google Mobile version is the "light" version.
How can I change this?

Hey I have updated my 701 to FP2 just after you guys released FP2 from your servers via OTA(2nd oct) . Over all its a good update but i have noticed that
1) No option to use Front cam while in camera or video mode .
2) No exit button in camera or video mode( have to press End key)
3) Nokia Music and Video editor fails to respond( DEAD)
4)Phone is laggy especially when using music player and web/email applications at a time.
5)BELLE EXTRA BUTTONS are colliding with CALL & SEARCH homescreen buttons( CHECK ATTACHMENT )
6)In Landscape mode ( when using any application e.g: Whats App or Nimbuzz e.t.c.,) not able to see the text typed above.( CHECK ATTACHMENT)
7)No option to select Multiple images in gallery.
Please revert back

Nokia Belle FP2 -Pros and bugs.

Nokia Belle FP2(Sw.Version 113.010.1506) seems to be another cool release by Nokia with many bug fixes and lot of improvement in ease of usability.
Here are some of the things I would like to share:-
1.New music player with new appearance and correct album list.
2.Search shortcut on the homescreen.
3.Music player pause and play in the dropdown status bar.
4.Improved transition effects.
5.Very good in place pop up options for fast selection of items.
6.Improved video player aspect ratio switching with double tap.
7.Improved speed in file manager.
8.Cool new extra widgets.
9.Nice looking security lock keypad.
10.Nokia 808 style camera interface is a highlight in FP2 with lot of speed improvement in capturing an image!
11.Very good new lock screen with fast access to alerts.
12.Camera can be opened while keypad is locked!
13.New keyboard with native language.
14.Improved volume level design.
15. Improved selection of text for copying and pasting.
16. Apps open much faster especially like the Dictionary app.
Bugs/Drawbacks:-
1.The worst keyboard ever.
A. Lots of eye movement, have see both body of typing and suggestion. No predictions is used, though prediction is present, it is not used for helping the user to write the message fast but to struggle in selecting appropriate words.
First type regardless of tiny mispellings and check whether the word is in the suggestions or not and select appropriate word, instead of the phone selecting appropriate word itself and helping the user to select the word by itself.
user has to see the suggested words and select the word instead of looking at the message body.
please don't make our phones unusable.
B. No right and left arrow keys to move between tiny letters.
These keys appear only when you tap on the body of the message in messaging only, not in an app like opera mini.
Try and try again until you get the cursor beside correct letter!
C. The suggetions on top of the keypad takes extra speace and blocks the typing area apps like opera mini. See attachment.
2. Unusable gallery app.
A. Now there are only two options in gallery. Add tag and delete with mark option. No mark option to select multiple images and send them via mail or bluetooth. You can send one by one by opening an image and then by using options-send.
B. There is no add to favourites folder or any other custom folder to move your important photos or images of your important documents etc.... you need to scroll to the correct image and open it. Now the more images you have more scrolling and time it takes for you to see your image.
C. The new gallery app cannot zoom in high resolution photos or the photos from 808 pureview.
It shows blank black screen when you zoom.
D. Image editor cannot zoom the image like as with old editor. Very limited zooming. like you zoom in gallery.
3. Battery performance seem to be improved now, but not like initial Belle.
4. Camera:
Option to select front camera has been removed. Very bad.
5.Mass storage mode.
Now with FP2, Connecting in Mass storage mode hangs your phone completely, only way is to remove the battery.

Web of Trust no longer working with google and bing image searches

Hello All,
I have searched and searched but have not found an answer that matches my specifics. Any help would be appreciated.
I used to be able to do this but now I can no longer search and browse images on google or bing image search and have Web of Trust function. Here is how I am going about it.
What I use:
DuckDuckGo's annoymous google or bing image search link when I enter querries. Also, searching directly from Google's or Bing's image search page doesn't work with WOT anymore either.
Firefox 23.0.1
The following add-on's:
Add-block plus 2.3.2
BetterPrivacy 1.68
Flagfox 4.2.12
Ghostery 5.0.4
Google/Yandex search link fix 1.4.1

If anyone has a fix for this please let me know.

I guess what I learned is that sometimes the best solution is to do nothing and wait for the problem to solve itself! Funny, this has never worked for me before.
WOT is now working for me but often for only the first few rows of images. That's cool that it is also working with bing images.
Boudica, thanks for understanding. I am new contributor/ question-asker here on mozilla and may not understand how things are done. I was just frustrated, getting an email saying that my question was answered, logging in to find that it wasn't.
Now we have the functionality that we wanted, right?

Nokia belle FP2 c :drive storage problem

i m havin a great problem with nokia 603 belle fp2 device ... I have updated almost 1 n a half years ago ... Since then i facing storage problem in c drive ... Automatically memory vanishes from c drive ... Though I don't install apps in c drive , im facing this problem ! I have to restore my device when memory in the c drive goes low ! Is there any solution ? Please help me ...

Welcome to the forum!
Aside from the software update, did you install any particular app prior to this issue? Since the issue started after you updated the phone's software to Nokia Belle FP2, you may try reinstalling the SW using Nokia Suite. Just download it on your PC, and then connect the phone via a compatible USB cable. After that, launch Nokia Suite, and then go to SW Updates > Device Software Update > Reinstall current SW. You can download Nokia Suite from this link: Nokia Suite - Download and Support.
Let us know the outcome.

Nokia Belle FP2 (Lite) or Nokia Belle (refresh 2) ...

will the FP2 also available on older S^3 devices? INCLUDING NOKIA 500!!!!!? bcoz im ithcing with that new feature called swipe unlock

Owned 3310, 1100, 3300, 6600, 6300, 5310, 5130, N79, 5800.
Owns: 6230 (still alive) and 500....

The Nokia Belle Refresh was just released about a week ago or so. So, even if there is indeed Nokia Belle FP2 Refresh or whatsoever for these phones, it might take (Probably) months for it to released. In anyhow, we will never know when will it released or even if there IS Nokia Belle FP2 for Nokia 500 or older.

When using Firefox and Bing, auto search suggestions will not populate even though all options for it are enabled.

If I try to perform a search using Firefox as my browser, and Bing as my search engine, auto suggestions will not populate. I can use other search engines with Firefox and they work, and I can use Bing in other browsers and it works.

If you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) installed, you can try deleting all existing instances of Firefox and its related processes/files in all the different configuration modules/areas of the security software like process monitoring, sub/spawned process control, virtualization, HIPS etc., in addition to the security software's main configuration panel. Instead create new fully allowed/trusted rules for Firefox + its related processes in all the different modules/panels - a genuine/original Firefox installer as well as all the installed EXEs (Application) and DLLs (Application extension) are digitally signed by Mozilla Corporation (right-click > Properties > Digital Signatures). Even otherwise, some security software may also ask again when Firefox and/or its sub processes are started, and you may be able to allow/trust at that time. Nokia belle refresh Email and calendar update not ...

Hi! I'm using the Nokia E7 running Nokia Belle refresh and my problem is that the email and calendar update released by Nokia recently is downloaded onto my device but is not installing, it shows installing, then restarts the device without finishing the installation. Anyone who can assist in solving this puzzle?

Hi, if you have an antivirus software on your e7 then this could be the cause. Uninstall it and it probably will work.

Nokia Belle FP1 Pros and Bugs.

I have FP1 installed on my 701.
I must say this update is significant improvement from the old belle in terms of features and functionality.
I'm happy that Nokia solved most of the problems that I have mentioned earlier.

Highlights:-
Menu scrolls pretty fast.
Menu search is much better.
Apps and games open much faster.
Installation of apps is fast too.
Faster startup.
Nice transition effects than before.
Dolby digital plus seem to be a major highlight.
New widgets.
New Multitasking view.
New message conversation view.
Improved dropdown bar.
Improved music player.
New web browser.
Improved camera interface.
Bugs/Drawbacks:
1. Menu scroller is absent.
It is not even present in shortcut list (Homescreen-add shortcut), installations, File manager, add-new-contact and widget list!!
2. While pinch to zoom, Image shakes.
3. Battery backup seem to be adversely affected.
4. I opened the old maps application (maps from 111.030.0609) and tried to download maps from maps loader, It shows list of available continents and when I try to download the maps, the wifi disconnects immediately, everytime.
5. Connecting phone in mass storage mode makes the phone hang sometimes.
6. Opening multiple qt applications and some other normal applications causes the new qt application to not to launch. Maybe this is due to use of close all in multitasking view?
7. E mail seem to be not notifying new mail arrival even after setting retrieval frequency to soonest.
8. Switching between open apps in multitasking view is not so occurate or fast. Sometimes it doesn't switch at all, we need to be more precise.
9. Some menu icons become black colored sometimes and normal when you use menu(See PIc).
10. Adding a new contact and its details is still a problem once the keypad(board) pops up, we need to close keypad to scroll to add further details!
11. Stereo video recording is missing as I was misguided by the specification page of Nokia.
*2 Microphones for stereo recording! (Is that possible to provide that in the next update?)
12. The graphic of volume up and down when we press volume rocker is more ugly now. Not seem to be alligned in place.
13. My phone is getting heated up if I use maps, and multiple applications. This never happened before.
14. No exit option for file manager. Only way is to press End key.
15. Calender is missing week view.
16. Long pressing on the song while in portrait mode with small cover flow in the music player seem to be not working, maybe while connected with PC.

Display turns always on my 701 after locking using side lock key. I think this happens after connecting to PC in Nokia suite mode.
Also in the gallery we cannot goto last picture(Image at bottom of gallery) by scrolling first picture(Image at the begining of gallery) by swiping left to right.
Connecting to PC causes problems in the device, no problem working with PC.
FP1 is Very poor software for connecting to PC in Mass storage as well as in Nokia suite mode, Device hangs and display won't turn off after lock respectively.
Nokia solve all these immediately.
Hope 808 comes with updated FP1.

FF4 freezes when loading default homepage, Google and when using search engines

Whenever I open FF4, it will freeze/hang when loading the default homepage, Google.
Same with the problem on other search engines, Yahoo!, MSN, Bing, etc.
Search engines main problem.

Do you have the McAfee Site Advisor installed? If so, remove it from your PC and try using any search engine with FF. Removing the Site Advisor worked for me, seems like FF 4 b10 isn't compatible with the Site Advisor.

Belle FP2 Gallery and camera update

After the recent update of gallery and camera on 808 and 701, which allows finally the multiple selection, I've found on both devices that if you select 2 or more photos in the gallery and then you send them by email, the email app closes suddenly and you can find the message with attached photos in drafts. But just 2 photos. If you select 3 or more, only 2 will be attached. If you choose just one, it works as previously, you open a new message and then you can edit it etc.
Have you the same issue?

Yes, everybody had got this. It's always been there. On the 700 and on the 808, FP1 and FP2. Actually the gallery/camera update has improved it a bit. One can now email 2-3 pics. Before the update even 1 pic rarely worked.
Really serious problem with no organization of the report without album and all photos in one place has been reported ?? course the problem is not solved in any way with the extra apps from the store which is slow without a good support

The issue seems to be caused by the mechanism involved in the Send / Email dialogue which is present in the Gallery app, and in various other apps which also fail the same way.
Whereas if you start up the email app, create a fresh email and then add the pics (as attachments) to it, you can send as many as you like, with the email size limited only by the various SMTP server limits. I have emailed 50MB emails, though most people are limited to about 10MB by their ISP or network.

How to report a bug in Nokia Belle so that next up...

Hello,
I was wondering, where and how would I report a bug that I have repeatedly seen on my 808 Pureview? It is said that Accenture handles the support for Symbian now, but how do I actually get to a place where they receive bug reports for Symbian?
The bug is purely linked to the OS, it is when I type text messages sometimes one key would just get stuck,and the system would freeze, for like 15 seconds, and then the phone would have no other choice but to reboot. This happens from time to time. And when you wrote a very long message before this bug happens, that makes you pretty angry usually.
I have a Nokia 808 Pureview running the last version of Nokia Belle FP2. Everything is technically "up to date"...so I just want to report this bug so that future updates do correct that, if possible!

Although there is little chance of any updates, support and bug fixes should continue for a while yet. This is a user to user forum, you can contact Nokia here http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/contact/ and if it is possible to initiate a bug fix for your phone this is the best route to follow.

808 Belle FP2

Is it me or is "Swipe to unlock" rather slow as missing tap to unlock already?
Prefer not to use spring loaded "lock-key" as probably first component to fail!

@aspergerguy Did you really create this thread with the title "808 Belle FP2" ? Tut tut.
I agree that the swipe is a little slower than the previous tap, however, I pretty much always use the physical lock switch and have no reason to think it will fail. The switch never failed on my N97, C6-01 or N8 and this one on the 808 seems the most robust of the lot.
svi78> Please try the following: Press Menu key and then swipe from the right to left. There is not "unlock" button on the Nokia Belle FP2.
