Nokia Belle update problem

Hi all,
I recently updated to Nokia Belle and it looks so great. However, I was shocked when I couldn't find the compass application that comes preinstalled on Nokia N8. In addition any application that uses the compass is giving wrong values. Furthermore, the GPS is not determining my right position!
Have anyone confronted such issue? is there a way to reinstall nokia Belle?

course you can re install belle. just connect phone to pc by usb and open suite and re install

So I Have This Strange Problem with my Nokia N8. Last night i was doing that Noka Belle update and every time it Problem Says ( The Device Isn't Connected ) So every time i have to remove the USB And Switch the phone on again and re-try but the same prmblem came out everytime so i was tring again but last time when it was making the same thing my brother removed the phone from the USB Cable and now It's Dead it doesn't switch on Or Charge So some one knows what i have to do ? I've installed the latest version of Nokia Suite. It showed me Nokia Belle Demo and I installed but I cannot find Nokia Belle update. I'm currently using Anna version.

No Nokia Belle update for Nokia X7 059K1B7 in any ...

Its like the support team forgot the Nokia X7 059K1B7 i,ve fetched all of the countries and found nothing related to this software im thinking of changing the software. In addition to that there is no update for any of the X7 series in Lebanon so any help please?

A quick search of the forum finds this thread /t5/Xseries/Nokia-X7-Product-Code-059k1b7/m-p/1338067/highlight/true#M15547 which identifies this as a France variant, and it seems that there is currently no belle update planned. Keep an eye on, http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/nokia-belle-update/nokia-belle-update-availability looking under France to see if the status changes.

Tesco Mobile and the Nokia Belle update

Hey,
Is anyone else waiting for the Tesco Mobile Nokia Belle update for the Nokia N8? Or is it just me?

I remember them being pretty much last to release Symbian Anna and pr 1.1.

For those of you waiting for the Tesco update, have you tried visiting an NCC to get a generic version put on? I know with the Anna update I got mine done early coz I couldn't be bothered to wait for Tesco to release their version. As for the overall response to Belle, I've chosen to give it a miss. Unless FP1 really sorts a lot of Belles issues out.

Yes I know it has Belle already but it is SYMBIAN Belle version 111.020.0308. This is incompatible with the Microsoft Apps for Symbian. It is a generic, unlocked unbranded phone so you can't use the 'waiting for operator approval' explanation.

Even though your phones may not be branded by a carrier, they may be country variants, in which case the Nokia Belle update may be delayed to you, or not be released at all. Country variants are where Nokia has released the generic firmware to your country's Nokia, and it is up to your country's Nokia to approve this and add their own country requirements / custom apps etc, and release the update to you. If you still do not see an update available for your handset, I suggest contacting your Nokia Care and inquiring.

My N8 nokia belle update failed

I tried updating my N8 to nokia belle but failed. The download was successful but the backup failed. There was an error message (not ok) in front of the message backup and it kept restarting my phone. Please what's the solution?

Nokia belle updated but still as anna?

As the subject suggests, I have updaetd via nokia suite to Belle but still appears to be Anna. N8 in the UK.
Any ideas?

I also got the same issue, for my N8 - 0599255.
It showed me that the update is available, asked me to login to a installation screen with my username and psw, took a backup of everything, but it failed, so it retsarted the phone on its own, then took and backup and showed me a screen of UPDATING N8 , installing and then restored the back. while doing it, it restartd the phone also and showed TEST MODE,like it normally does when you do a update.
All done, tell me NOKIA BELLE is ready and i check the phone, no difference atall :-)
S/w version shows ANNA still on .
not sure whats going on .
Hope noka fixes this ASAP and we can BELLE THE N8.

Nokia 503s Update Problem

Hi! This is my first post on the forum, I have a problem:
I'm from Argentina and I have a Nokia Asha 503s with the operator Personal Argentina, but I can't update the firmware. Whne I try to update via FOTA on the Setting's Menu but the phone says that isn't available an update.
For this reason I tried to update using Nokia Software Recovery Tool and Nokia Software Updater for Retail and both programs find the update, then download it but when the installation process starts it the phone restart normally (no show any White Screen) and reaches 10%, giving me this message:
"Error instaling software:Error code: 0x8401F141..."
I cancel the installation when the program ask me to recover the installation, and the phone does not apply any change.
Any possible solution?

in this forum we are forbidden to discuss such things, changing product codes and installing unofficial firmware on the devices, voids the warranty.

Nokia C6 update problem

hello. today i tryed to update my nokia c6 from the phone not from the ovi suite and when i pessed the update icon it starts and it closes right away. i have cheked and i have wifi connection establised.
also i tryed with ovi suite but no luck. no updates. any ideas?

Latest version available for C6-00 is v 40.0.021.If you currently have version v20 or lower you can update to this version.
And if you are asking about Anna, it will not be available for C6-00. It is only available for symbian 3 phones like C6-01,C7,N8 and E7.

Nokia Belle Updates - Gmail configuration

Dear All.
If you are user of Nokia C7-00 or related series who would like to update Nokia Belle then I would suggest you to think twice. Because we find more comfort with our old version and habitual of same. Though Nokia belle (new software update) is good expercience but I found a quite surprise when I configured my Gmail account. in Nokia belle. You will find that you can see your inbox email but can not see your sent email which is available on your PC. You can see only those sent email which you had sent it by your mobile only. Its pretty much surprise for me. I called Nokia care and every one suggested me to change setting, delete account, master reset etc which i have done. Finally one employee of customer care replied me very clearly that Sent items can not be seen in Nokia belle. its downgraded. True answer but I am feeling that I am lacking so much. You oftenly require your sent email also to forward the same. But you have done the same from your PC which is not available on your phone.
Now wait for another update................. I hope nokia will keep a option for this next time.

Browse Nokia store for file hides applications. Use one that serves your purpose better. And as for your question about the future updates for for belle(if that is what you meant) yes, there will be minor feature updates from time to time though we Cant be specific about the type and schedule of updates.

Nokia Belle update failure - phone now bricked

I happened to see my phone(N8) telling me that an update was available and I had to perform the operation through PC suite rather than previous FOTA methods. Strange, but I was very excited to try my hands on Belle. I setup the battleground for the update. Got the latest Suite(3.3.86), downloaded the firmware through it, and started the update.
The suite tookup the backup of the phone contents and then started to update. The update procedure asked to ignore any windows complaints of USB device being unplugged, and I just followed. After sometime, a pop-up comes saying that the communication with the device failed, and I need to press the power key for 10s. I performed and three vibrations came. Nothing happened. I kept waiting for much more time and later terminated the process to see my phone is bricked.
My attempts to search to reset the phone to some factory setting(I wonder why 16GN eMMC was required then) also failed. There is no way one can get his phone back if the update fails. Now its not strange for me why Nokia is a failure brand.
I purchased N8 believing the quality of Nokia phones. Initial updates like Anna and other minor updates to it went on well. I am now unhappy with Nokia. I think the whole process of update is pain. I am not sure why, but the method chosen to update was painsome. I hope someone responsible in Nokia would read this, and I want to tell them, N8 would be your brand's last phone to be owned by me, even if you sell moon through microsoft(another pain company) in future.

As of now, your only option is a three finger reset mentioned by Tim. Try it. You've nothing to lose. I hope you've a back up of all data. If that doesn't boot up your phone, then take it to a nearest Nokia care.

Nokia N96 updating problems

First, I know N96 is an old phone, but I wanted it so bad, and i got one few months ago. I bough it with 20.050 firmware in it, and when i went check for updates (OTA) it said, and it always says no updates available. I checked the code behind the battery and its: 0543719, checked on the site says there is newer version firmware for my phone available. I tried updating with Nokia Software Updater, again latest version, but it shows error saying it can't identify my device. A friend of mine told me he updates via Ovi suite. I installed it and tried to update. It detected my phone, firmware and everything, it downloaded the latest firmware, but when i go to install, it shows that my usb is disconnected, and then connected again.. Is there any way i can update to the latest firmware? Can my phone die or get stuck on the oldest firmware if i do recovery? thanks.

There are 3 ways to update the firmware for the N96 and they are
1. OTA (over the air) which is the preferred method.
2. Ovi Suite/Nokia Software Updater
3. Nokia Care Point.
There is always a risk of bricking the phone if the update fails. This will then definitely require a trip to the local Nokia Care Point.
Sometimes when I encounter problems with the updating process, I actually hard reset the phone using the *#7370# reset code before I update. This could rid the phone of any settings etc that may be causing the problem.
Remember to backup your phone before attempting anything.

Nokia Suite and Nokia Software Updater problem

So I tried to synch my calendar and tasks this morning, as I usually do, from my office Windows XP laptop... and the synch failed.
The progress bar that should tell me how far along the synch has got just stayed empty.
After about ten minutes, I quit Nokia Suite, disconnected my phone, and reconnected it.
When I tried to restart Nokia Suite, I got a pop-up:
Nokia Software Updater is running
Please close Nokia Software Updater , as it stops you from opening Nokia Suite. Then, click Try again.
I looked in Task Manager, and couldn't find Nokia Software Updater...
Any ideas what I can do, other than reboot?

Sorry to hear about the situation. Please go to "Processes" sheet in Task Manager. Close the process Nokia Software Updater.
You can also go to Nokia Suite > Tools > Options > General > Automatically download software updates > Disable it. Try to sync again.
If it still fails, please tick " Nokia Suite > Tools > Options > General > Start collecting logs, in case the issue does not get resolved and you have to contact Nokia Care line and they need them.
