NOKIA BIG HYPE!!!

First of all Nokia are hype when it comes to Launching Handsets to Customers!
For example when N91 4GB Edition was released there was a little circle on the top left hand corner it looked as if it was like dem blue sensor light that you get on N80, N70, etc but turned out to be HYPE! Even the Screen resolution was HYPE, it should have been the same screen resolution n brightness as the N70 but no it 6630 screen! - HYPE
I got my N91 replaced twice. (they looked as if they were brand new N91 but NO they were 2nd Hand version with faulty mainboards that have been recovered & the sliding mechanism from old N91 damaged Handsets! My sliding mechanism was so hard to pull down that wen i pushed it down the went DEAD!
N93 - HYPE. Performance bad. Noisy camera noise! Focus abosolutely HYPE. Recording quality no were near DVD quality!
Too buggy.
N80 - Poor Battery life. Buggy Firmwares! BIG HYPE doesnt do wat it was advertised to DO! same with N73.
I have got a SE W950i, & let me tell you something. What is advertises it actually is 100% accurate n no HYPE! like Nokia. W950i battery outperforms N91 Battery.
Stick to SE from now on...They Do job on wat they are advertised to do. Nokia Booo Hooo.

Hi babdi
Just to let you know I have removed your post in the NSU Team response to Nokia N93 topic. You are correct in that is a user-to-user discussion forum and this is a place for users to air their views. Nokia are grateful for the feedback they are receiving through the boards.
Nokia have no problem with criticism and do work to fix issues that are raised on the board and in call centres, however criticism should be constructive and not negative for the sake of it. Comments that are unconstructive and negative will be removed; constructive and negative comments will be left on the board
The moderators are here to moderate the forum and have nothing to do with the support side of Nokia.

Ajak

Dear Ajak
I agree with you. However so many people have talked post after post about Nokia's poor customer service. Pages are overflowing with failed or un-updatable firmware updates.
Nokia is silent.
Therefore you would agree we as a customers tend to lose patience and turn constructive critisisms to mocking Nokia with a hope that atleast this would make Nokia ashamed and they wake up and do something about it.
Ajak you should undersatnd no one is born bad. It is the circumstances that make one. Nokia is no exception
Further , I am afraid more people will resort to these
"so called" negative posts given the fact that consumers problems grow exponentially.

  • Nokia Big Screen has Small Resolution

Am using Nokia Phone Broswer 2 together with Nokia Big Screen for HDMI connectio to TV set. This produces low-resolution iamges on the TV screen, as if the phone browser choses a resolution for its own screen and is not aware of the Big Screen.
I suggest Nokia to improve the integration between these 2 apps

It's not possible to use BigScreen to browse the internet on a TV. It currently only supports videos, pictures and music.
    All the best.

  • Nokia Big Screen won't install

I get the error "Unable to install application from a supplier that is not trusted"
This has been happening for about a week.
I'm running official ANNA on an N8.
    Is everyone having this problem?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

"If you faced installing problems and you have "ODML commons repository" installed in Settings... Application installer, try removing that. It's a part of some old Maps Beta that stays on system persistently. Re-install Maps if needed."
I did this and now I can install Nokia Big Screen!  Yay.

  • OPEN LETTER TO NOKIA BIG-HEADS

N8: It's amazing technology: what will you do with it?
E7: Success looks like this right now.
    Sadly, no.
Bugs to be resolved in Belle (amongst others that i may have overlooked) for E7 (and N8/C7 too)
    1. Nokia Messaging Push Mail Service to function, as mentioned in product manuals and adverts
    2. Communication Logs to log in Wifi and Packet Data, as mentioned in the product manuals
    3. Access Point connection to be highlighted during connection as in previous Symbian
    4. Most important: PLEASE, OH PLEASE, DO NOT CREATE NEW BUGS LIKE ANNA.
Only if you do the above, will you have the following advantages:
    - existing customers's misery will be put out and our satisfaction and confidence be restored
    - existing customers (like myself) will provide a good reference
    - new customers, eventhough you have moved to WP7.x, will still buy your devices, as they will have confidence that you will take care of them
And if you do the above, i don't need to tell you what it translates for your bottom as well as top lines.
I will be super thrilled if some nokia senior executive acknowledges my post either publicly or privately.

  • Something happened and I can't connect to the itunes store on my computer, it keep saying make sure ur network connection is active and try again, but I am on the internet and I do have a connection, it has been working all this time until now

I also had my phone go into recovery mode and lost everything up until it's last back up and don't have all my son's games I downloaded for him, lost pics, new contacts that i had added.  I don't know what the big hype of the iphone really is, i guess because I am not fully aware of how to use it but I am tired of my itunes store not coming up on my computer and apple wont' help me

Thanks for your quick response, but all of my iTunes account info is correct.  I also just discovered that I can connect with 3G and purchase apps without problems, so it's just the wifi connection (and only with iTunes store) that is giving me problems.  I have made sure I have the latest software/firmware on my Airport Express network, and my iOS devices, and everything works well on all of my devices (can even browse the itunes store and internet) until I attempt a purchase.  I can purchase with 3G but not on Wifi.  The problem arose on both my iPhone and iPad at exactly the same time!

  • Newsstand for Yosemite?

When will Apple do the right thing and release Newsstand for Yosemite?
I thought the big hype around this new operating system waas to make information available across all ios platforms?
I dont have a ipad anymore, and reading my mag subscriptions is a joke on a small screen....
    Or am I missing something?????
    Cheers

Nobody here knows. But it would be nice to be able to view Newsstand content on OS X, I agree.
The fly in the ointment though is that Newsstand "content" is actually apps. They're not actual magazines, they are iOS applications, which cannot run on OS X. So it's not trivial. It might be better if Newsstand went away and was replaced with iBooks content, long-run. That would work on OS X and iOS.

Furthermore, how can I create a theme for E90? Is there a simple PC app other than Carbide?

  • What's going on with these new iPads 3 rd generation?

All have wifi issues. My other IPad 2  had no wifi issues at all. This happens on any wifi in my home or others I use when out.
This is so frustrating. I have taking 3 back so far and now I have a forth one. 64 gb wifi with 4 G. I was told there wasn't issues with the 64 gb wifi with 4 G so I spent another 130.00 for the one with 4 G. Apple is aware of this. Then you ask another apple worker and they act completely blind to it. Saying there is no issues.
That's not saying much for how they think of the customer?
I just want What I am paying for.
I have lots of apple products so before anyone thinks I'm knocking Apple I'm not. Just want a working product and not at my time and expense.
1000.00 is a lot for something that doesn't work right.I want what I'm paying for. So much for the big hype on this new IPad.
Also my pages load very slow in iBook. Small areas come in sharp while other areas are still blured. You can see the screen clear up in spots until the screen reaches full resolution. Never had this issue with my  iPad 2 second generation. Also pictures of high res also. I could flip thru the same pics on the old IPad and it would load fast and quick.
    Thanks,
    DB

No they DO NOT, well mine doesn't.

It HAS been well publicized that 4G data speeds will NOT work in ALL countries { the speed will be "downgraded" to 3G speeds.

    There is NO issue.

  • HTMLDB and Workflows - pl/flow, Oracle Workflow or BPEL?

    Hi,
I am looking for a workflow engine to integrate with HTMLDB for workflow applications.
Most of the stuff I try to do will happen in the database (as of now).
Which one should I choose? Which one is easy to use (intuitive, good samples)?
I haven't used any of those, which is the fastest to learn?
Can I graphically model the workflows with pl/flow, so that they can be modified by administrators later?
What about the future? It seems to me that many links to Oracle Workflow seem to disappearing from OTN.
I find pl/flow interesting, but is it used a lot? Is there still development going on?
Any experiences / suggestions will be helpful. Or perhaps you use something completely different?
    Thanks,
    ~Dietmar.

    Hi Bob,
    thanks for thoughts on this.
I was in touch with the lead developer of pl/flow and he explained that there was not much to add since the package was XPDL interface 2 compliant and most of the users were happy with it.
You can even import workflows from XPDL visual workflow modelers which has some charme, since it is standards based.
I was reluctant to use Oracle Workflow for several reasons.
    * It appears to be complex
    * It is not standards based
    * The administration interface looks "aged" (that lead me to believe that Oracle had not much interest in further promoting the product)
    * I don't know where the product is heading since BPEL is the big hype and the development of Oracle's former Java based workflow product is being stopped.
The cost shouldn't be an issue since it is included in the database license as far as I have researched.
I would be interested in all developer experiences using Oracle Workflow with HTMLDB or other tools.
Is perhaps the HTMLDB - developer team working on an integration with Oracle Workflow?
    Thanks,
    ~Dietmar.

  • AIR 2.6 = no shadows with GPU renderMode? Overall dissapointment

With previous packager I can use shadows with GPU mode without any problem, only with cacheAsBitmap they are not rendered correctly.
Now with AIR 2.6, they completely dissapear even I don't set cacheAsBitmap on objects ... so it looks like I will have to convert all objects with shadows to pre-rendered bitmaps to achieve filters effects when want to keep GPU support for transformations = soooo many work = not usable.
For example I have a scene with 40 pencils objects (buttons), all have shadows applied and the second onClick state graphics inside = this will be 80 png images even I don't need to cache them to GPU!
Any workaround? Or am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks!
OT: Also still no in-app purchases, dropping support on iOS 3 is also the big problem when developing for iPhones today (still big penetration of 2G, 3G) ... these drawbacks are quite serious for me and don't beat the new features - for me they are all quite minor improvements, I also didn't have a problem with performance with previous version.
There was a really big hype about new packager so I am really dissapointed now.

Filters are not supported in AIR 2.6, so no shadows...
then again it does support running without being buggy as hell..
It's a shame, but I think color transforms possibly work now, and some of the blending modes work (reliably), so they make up for the lack of filters for me.
You could always try making a copy of your image, coloring it black using a color transform (if they work - still unsure) and then display it under your image and offset it - giving the appearance of a shadow...

  • Latest processing RAW from Canon 40 D

I am aware that the previous thread was closed but I wanted to share what I have experienced and what Canon told me.
I have an iMac and had after installing DPP 3.1.5 latest version found that what you all already know can't recognize/process RAW. I called Canon and they told me that it looks like they were going to provide the RAW conversion for 40 D, but not it looks like they are going to wait until Apple release the new OS. If you check Canon's Library they don't show any DPP upgrade for 40 D cuz they got none.
In case you are wondering if this is a unique issue with Apple, think again Vista users are facing the same.
So here is the deal if you have I Browser you can upload/process RAW images created on the 40 D, but not on DPP. Also, if you have Windows XP guess what ZB will do the same. I don't have DPP installed on my Win XP.
Before I bought my 40 D I was outrage because Canon created this big hype, and yet they weren't shipping enough units. I was able to make contact with one of their Product Mgr. and wouldn't you know it, within 10 minutes a store (in the state next to mine) called because the Prod Mgr called him, and he had a camera on hold, needless to say, I drove and bought it. I kept his phone number so will call him and find out because its a total dissapointment not being able to upload and process RAW images the easy way, but instead going through a lot of hoops.

Yea... this frustration is certainly echoed throughout an entire community of people who rushed out with great excitement to pick up the 40D, myself included in that list. The bottom line is of course that despite the hoops we're all having to hop through currently, it'll all clear up soon enough. If the RAW update is coming with the introduction of Leopard, then count me in I suppose. I can kind of see the logic in consolidating updates into one big OS revision extravaganza.
What worries me though is, if they're waiting to introduce it alongside Leopard, what about all the remaining Tiger users? I'll be honest, given the recent quirkiness with iPhone and iPod software, and how development teams are being shuffled all over so many projects in order to meet deadlines and often at the expense of software not being as polished as we've come to expect from Apple, it gives me pause on updating to Leopard right away. But are they going to force all the 40D users to upgrade OS's in order to get RAW support? That seems kinda wonky, but the alternative is that they'll release an update for Tiger that get things up and going too, right?
But if they're going to have that... why not go ahead and release it now and save so many users the heartache and trouble of waiting and working with JPEG files in the meantime? Oh yea... because of the consolidation, right... *blank stare* Or perhaps there will be no update on Tiger? Ewwww... So many questions... so few answers... and so much less sense than ever before.
I've heard this idea that 'it takes time' but if Adobe's turning it around in two weeks, how much more time can it really take for Cupertino to work it out? I'm convinced Apple is sitting on the update at this point... and that lines up with what Canon said about Apple's wait on the OS upgrade.
It's all confusing, but like I said, it'll all work out soon enough, no matter what agenda's are being placed at the head of the line. The real question I think is are we going to have to pony up for a new OS (as well as a new version of Aperture to possibly make things financially worse?) in order to unlock all the RAW goodness of our new camera? Time well tell I suppose, but Apple's slowly slipping in my mind as the company that can do no wrong.
All love though, Apple. Hear the concerns. I look forward to you proving me wrong, and making my wildest dreams come true as you have in the past.

  • N8 & E7 HDMI issue...

I have an N8 and an E7. I've two different HDMI adapters and have tried both of them on both phones. The problem is that whenever I connect the HDMI cable to TV and then to any of the phones, the HDMI icon appears, the display is also shown but it is quite noisy. Audio can't be played and pictures are also noisy. Videos are so much laggy. HDMI cable is working well with my laptop. Also I've plugged the cable as tightly as I can but in vain...

The HDMI adapters are CA-156 which came with the phones and yes I have Nokia Big Screen installed on E7 but still there's noise on both phones and can't get audio neither with music player, nor with video player.

  • Ennie mennie minnee moe

I have my upgrade availble can't purchase till right after the new year. I'm looking at a couple devices which one to pick. please give pros and cons and which u think best . I'm looking at , Charge: long battery life , Bionic: had big hype but not sure with reading forums, Razr: slick but hear low battery life not sure about the no remove battery, or ofcourse the new nexus : galaxy device, but hear short battery life and low camera . right now I have the droid a855. I'll be purchasing January 7th will keep people posted .

Because of the way that you asked the original question, I would recommend the HTC Rezound.  Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of Motorola phones.  I love the Galaxy Nexus, but think that if you have to ask, it may not be the phone for you.
Looking at the Galaxy Nexus forum on here, and any other for that matter, how you use your phone is important in determining which phone is better for you.  I would say that if using the phone as a "phone" is important to you, you either want to go with the Rezound now, or wait to see if any of the reception issues that people are having on the Galaxy Nexus are resolved.  Also, if you use the speakerphone a lot, scratch the Galaxy Nexus off of your list!
The other drawback for the Galaxy Nexus would be the camera.  Without seeing the pictures, I would still bet that the other three phones on your list are better than the Galaxy Nexus when it comes to picture quality.
Summary of the best (based on other's opinions except for SGN):
    Android Experience: Samsung Galaxy Nexus
    Audio quality: HTC Rezound
    Looks: Motorola RAZR

  • N81/N95 8GB Biggest Marketing Hype Ever from Nokia...

Nokia say N81/N95 8GB is a pure Music/Gaming phone. I had the N81 for 3 Days & I'll tell u straight the N81 sucks big time. Audio quality is poor via headsets n it doesnt stand a chance against N91. but quality of sound via speaekrs is better on N81. N81 can be classed as a gaming phone coz the games look awesome on it
Fink nokia should take off music from their slogan n keep only gaming on ! u would expect nokia to make better music phone as we move into the future but instead der music build quality just keeps going down the drain. If nokia say it is EU Restriction on volume how come Sony Ericsson phones dont have EU Restriction on volume? Its nokia they dont want to make a phone that does everyting All in One so thereofre they limit things on ther handset!
BTW the executive director for nokia was interviewd by the press & they askd if the nokia n81 will have same audio quality as n91 n he said yes but were is the quality gone? wat a lie. Nokia Executive Director/Nokia need to apologise to their customers n compensate those who bought a phone that cann not perform the job as N91 in music!
However finally the N81/N95 8GB are only going to get 2 - 4 firmware updates & that's, it going to become dead like the N93 firmware. where expensive model widout any updates! This is marketing hype by nokia. all der doing is just misleading customers n also adding 8GB wow! on n95 u can bu MicroSD upto 32GB n dat is a wow!
So becarefull peoples! btw me returned n81 back to vodafone.
