Nokia bluetooth disconnections and problems - solu...

Ok whilst i've managed to get Navicore a lot more stable blueooth GPS AND OR bluetooth headset connections are still quite unstable.
My attempts to get my three phone debranded to Nokia firmware becasue it is WAY ahead in terms of fixes have so far been refused by CW because they claim it is illegal/not allowed by three!
Thought this might be of interest to some people as it claims that upgrading to Nokia 3.x definitely fixes the problems. But 3 do not have this update available on their network yet.
Anyone care to comment- someone from Nokia for example?

I agree seraphim, its a case of great phone shame about the 3rd party providers response to firmware changes! But why should they bother? people are tied into 18 month contracts, they get their money regardless!
Interestingly i've also found Nokia that have improved the voice recognition technology, previously it would not recognize 'calendar', or 'trojan' (pizza place), or 'tung sing' (chinese) - what can i say i'm a bad cook!
Now it recognizes them very successfully :-)
Obviously lots more than just the bluetooth lockups, have been addressed.

  • Frequent Bluetooth Disconnects and Reconnects

I have been following this topic for many months under many thread topics.  Whether the iPhone 3GS (and I presume the iPhone 4) is connected via Bluetooth to a headset, handsfree, or some automobile systems, it may experience frequent and intermittent disconnecting and reconnecting. (Those devices giving voice prompts every time it disconnects and reconnects can be annoying )  Many replies have confirmed similar experiences and some have recommended various fixes ranging from resetting various network functions, to re-pairing the phone to the audio system, to keeping the charger to the phone plugged in, etc.  I have discovered that if an active connection is made, e.g. phone call connection, music streaming, or gps navigation connection, the bluetooth connection remains solid and stable throughout the connection.  A downside of course is one does not want to have to have music streaming or the gps app runniing in the background on the phone all the time either.  I think a temporary fix would be a simple non obtrusive app for the phone that runs in the background that does nothing but keep the connection active would work to resolve this issue for all.  Hopefully it would not use much battery either.  P.S. I have experienced this issue with two Motorola H-17 headsets and one JabraCruiser2 Hands free units, and two separate iPhone 3GS devices.

A follow up.  The Apple Genius Bar yesterday witnessed my above symptoms, reset the network connections which did not cure the problem, finally diagnosed the phone bluetooth transmitting device was not functioning properly.  Of course my phone was out of warranty by now, so I upgraded to an iPhone 4 and now all is well. Posting this for information.

  • Bluetooth disconnects and reconnects constantly

    Hello,
My wife and I both have iPhones. She recently changed her car and the new one has the bluetooth option. She paired her phone with the car and it works normally. However, every few minutes, the car will display "iPhone has disconnected", followed by "iPhone connected" a few seconds later. I tried pairing my phone instead and it works perfectly fine. Never gets disconnected, so the problem is NOT the car's bluetooth. She never used bluetooth before.
She has an iPhone 4 and mine is a 4S. We got hers shortly after it came out, so it's been more than a year. I supposed it's not under warranty anymore.
I tried resetting the phone to factory settings but restored it from a backup. Didn't help.
Can you suggest anything else I can try to have this issue solved?
    Thanks in advance!

That does sound like something different than the power saving mode. With my Motorola, it will beep when it goes into the power saving mode, however it doesn't power back up again until I get a phone call or there is some other input from the phone.
If you were looking at your iPhone and at the top where the bluetooth icon is, do you see it change to off when you hear this beep and then come on again when you hear the other one?
I would check your phone out and see if there could be some issue with your bluetooth. Have you tried a reset and/or restore on your phone? See if that makes any difference, otherwise I would have the phone checked by Apple.

  • Nokia 6500 (slide) and problems with Pc Suite

    Survey first:
What version of Windows is being used?
    Windows Vista
    What Service Pack is installed?
    Service Pack 1
What version of PC Suite is installed?
    7.0.8.2
What is the connection method, cable, bluetooth or IR?
I have both cable and bluetooth. Tried both.
I have a problem connecting my phone to Nokia PC Suite. I know I get the connection because I was able to use update manager to install new updates to my phone. I also tried to reinstall PC Suite and it didn't help.
Here is what happens, I will explain with screenshots. I just connected my phone via bluetooth or cable (doesn't matter - I get same results)
    http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/6322/84873498tp3.jpg
PC Suite shows me that my N6500 is connected:
    http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/4341/39312796ad5.jpg
Yet, if I click "Contacts" I get a contacts application with no contacts, while it shows that my nokia is connected. On my phone I have contact on the sim card as well as the phone. I copied them from sim and the in the view option check to hide the sim contacts. I got to at least show the ones that are on the phne, but it shows nothing:
    http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1541/95660645in9.jpg
Other stuff doesn't work too, like here is what happens when I try to Back-up:
    http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/4949/71941457xy9.jpg
I also don't see anything in "Nokia Phone Browser" when I enter it through "My Computer"
I really need it to work. How can I fix this problem?

Just uninstalled the old version, downloaded and installed the latest version and I still have problems.
I just noticed though that "Phone selector" sees both connections USB and Bluetooth and give me a choice which on to go with, but I can't high light ether one to go to a next page...
    http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/488/17101536an7.jpg
One more thing. As you can see on the screenshot, one of the icons shows that my phone is connected, while the other one doesn't. I thought maybe that can help somehow..

    Any ideas?

Firstly, this is a user to user support forum, so w are all Nokia users here.
I find issues starting following an updatecan usually be resolvd a hard reset. I suggest backing up your data only and not the settings. Then reset the phone using the *#7370# reset. Once done, check that the issues are resolved before restoring your data and reinstalling apps.

  • To Nokia - Bluetooth problems or 6300 and 3110

    Dear Nokia,
Please, please you are killing everyone with your Nokia bluetooth phone incompatiblity.
What do you guys intend to do?
Do you acknowledge there is a problems.
I bought a 6300 when I lost the best Nokia ever phone 6230i.
The bluetooth connectivity is appalling.. Echoes and cut outs plague the receiver of your call.
So far bought BH200 useless, HS26W Jabras do not work, and BH100 does not work.
I then thought it was the phone, but so bought another 6300 it also has the same problems.
I then bought the 3110 classic which actually has a lovely keyboard layout. The phone is great, but the bluetooth problems are the same/ slightly better.
Nokia Uk are not helpful... They just say return the phone to o2. They live in denial...curse on their houses.
Nokia has beeen very sloppy on this bluetooth issue. They will kill their business. They have lost my loyalty...
I am now faced with buying a Samsung. Sonys are terrible and Blackberrys are too small to use in a moving car.
My hi-tech friend says it is incompatible bluetooth software on the phone. Nothing you can do till NOkia acknowledge the problem and send out a new patch..
Edit: removed e-mail addressMessage Edited by scousermodman on 25-Sep-2007 11:10 AM

I am also having the same problem.
    I have a 6300 and a Samsung WEP150 headset.
The headset works fine with My SonyEricsson W810i and I can also transfer contacts between the W810i and the Nokia 6300 using bluetooth but for some reason the 6300 can't see the headset.
Seems like Nokia haven't got thier bluetooth implementation quite right (At this point it seems the most likely cause). If they can provide a solution I'll be very happy to be wrong.
I'll let you know if I find a solution.

  • Nokia Suite and Nokia 701 Cable Driver Problems

Hi, I just bought a Nokia 701, and so far I love it, the only real problem I have is that I can't connect it with Nokia Suite through the provided cable, because the driver never get installed properly, everything OBEX fails to install.
So the only real way I can fully connect my Nokia 701 with Nokia Suite is via Bluetooth, but the speeds are dramatically slower. So I'd like to know if there are others having this problem or if I'm the only one. And in case this problem is already known, will there be a solution for it soon?
I also have a Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic and it has the same problem for ages. And it has never been solved, which I think it's pretty bad in a company the size of Nokia.
Just to clarify I'm using Windows 7 at 64 bits, and the latest version of Nokia Suite (3.3), and I'm trying to connect a Nokia 701 and a Nokia 5800, and both get driver incompatibilities that can't be resolved by the automatic Windows 7 search, and can't be resolved by searching for it manually with Windows Update, Windows Compatibility Site says that Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic should be 100% compatible, but, maybe because of the fact that Nokia 701 is relatively new, there is no information on the Windows Compatibility Site, about the device.
Please help me with this problem, it's very important for me to be able to connect both my cellphones via cable to the Nokia Suite application.
A preemptive thank you for all your help.

Hey Sevennikke7, Welcome to the Nokia Forums.
To fix the problem, try the following solutions:
disconnect the USB cable and connect it again.
If you use a USB hub, try connecting the phone directly to the computer.
If you use a USB hub with an external power source, make sure that it has been switched on.
Check the USB cable for problems and replace if necessary.
If your phone asks you for the connection mode that you want to use, make sure that you select Nokia Suite(or PC Suite) on your phone.
Disconnect the cable, restart the computer, and try again.
Keep in mind that if you remove USB devices without using the Safely Remove Hardware tool in the Windows taskbar, connection problems may appear.
Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel (called Programs and Features in Microsoft Windows 7).
Select Nokia Suite in the list of applications and click Change/Remove.
In the dialog that appears, choose Repair.Nokia Suite then check that all the needed files are intact and repairs any errors that were found.
Control Panel > Programs > Programs & features > Nokia Connectivity cable driver, right click and Change/Repair
Try go Control Panel > View Devices > Remove your device profiles and reinstall them.
As both devices cannot connect to your computer I believe it is a problem with drivers inside your PC.
I hope this helps and you manage to resolve your issue. Please get back to me if your problem persists.
    Sheldrick

  • Bluetooth disconnected on my iPhone but it will connect on my husbands.  I have been using this bluetooth for a year and now it won't reconnect

My bluetooth disconnected from my iphone 3.  I have been using it for months.  I checked the bluetooth and it connected on my husand's iphone4 but won't reconnect on my phone.

    Try doing this:
Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Connections
Phone will reboot, you will have to enter your WiFi Passwords again - BUT should resolve the problem.

  • Bluetooth Keyboard and Mighty Mouse disconnecting

I've been having a problem with my keyboard and mouse (both connected by bluetooth) disconnecting while I'm using them or disconnecting in the middle of the night and my computer wakes up to tell me about it. The latter doesn't seem that bad, but my computer is next to my bed and it's really bright when you're about to fall asleep. I know there have been previous posts about this that I've found, but they've all been archived with no solutions. I've tried deleting the pairing information and reconnecting, but from time to time, my mighty mouse will disconnect and will not reconnect. I usually have to power down completely, turn off the mouse, walk away for a little while, and then when I restart my iMac, it will tell me there's no mouse connected and will finally reconnect to it.
If anyone has anything they can tell me about how to fix this problem, or at least tell me how to disable the computer from waking up when the keyboard/mouse is lost, I'd appreciate it.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
"disconnecting in the middle of the night and my computer wakes up to tell me about it."
Open System Preferences/Bluetooth. In the Bluetooth pane click Advanced. Deselect "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer"
As for disconnecting. Have you replaced the batteries lately? System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse/Bluetooth. If you are down to one green bar, change the batteries.

  • When booting up, the bluetooth connects and then disconnects with my trackpad 3 or 4 times then i get a gray cover over the desktop that drops from top to bottom then a window that tells me to use the power button to do a forced shutdown.

when booting up, the bluetooth connects and disconnects with my trackpad 3 to 4 times and then i get a gray sheet that drops down from the top to bottom of the desktop then a box in the center that tells me to use the power button to do a forced shutdown. wireless keyboard connects with no problem. went to the apple store and they replaced the bluetooth card. still have the same problem. removed the batteries from the trackpad, strted up and no problem connecting with wireless mouse and keyboard. anyone else experience this?

This could be a software/state problem or a hardware problem.  Here are steps to resolve the former.
