Nokia c3- using only wifi and no GPRS / EDGE

Is there a way to use only WiFi for internet / OVI store / Community connections always? And Never use GPRS / EDGE at all?
(i.e) Is ther a way to disable GPRS and EDGE without affecting WiFi in Nokia C3-00?

Try the following steps:
You can set the WLAN or Wi-Fi to the highest priority so it will not connect to GPRS. To do this, go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > WLAN > Saved WLANs > Select which WLAN that you want to connect > Options > Organise priority.
Once done, set the packet data connection to when needed. This settings will establish a packet data connection when needed by an application. The connection is closed when the application is closed. You can set that by going to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Packet data > Packet data connection > When needed.

Thanks, After changing my settings in face time per your suggestion, (it needed to be done), I turned off cellular data and data roaming and made a call using face time. It worked! Great way to stay in touch while overseas without the need for those egregious phone data plans.

The iPad does not have necessary drivers for the Pantech modem, even if you could connect it.
If you already have the Pantech modem, you might be able to use it with a CradlePoint WiFi router such as the MBR900. That would make the router into a WiFi hotspot. Check the CradlePoint website to be sure that model modem is compatible.
Another possibility is a WiFi hotspot called a "MiFi" that uses the same system as the Pantech modem. I understand there are both battery powered and plug-in versions available. Check with your cellular provider for details.

Can I use both Wifi and a Lan connection at the same time?

With me back in the dorms I have been limited to a slower connection than what I would like. Now we are able to use both Wifi and a Lan line so I was wondering to somewhat "double" my speed if there was any way to use both connections at the same time.
Now I know that you can have both plugged in at the same time, I guess what I'm asking is, is there a way that I could set programs to use one or the other? Or some kind of virtual desktop that is set to use the other connection or anything that would allow both be used at the same time.
Or am I just wishing for something that doesn't have any possible way to work?

You can use both at the same time, but not gor Internet access if that's what you're asking.
Now there is a thing called Link Aggregation, which combines a number of interfaces for speed/redundancy, but it really only works locally, and then only with ALL special equipment in the route, and most likely OSX Server involved.

I would like to know, how to setup 3g on ipad in a way that the 3g will be on all the time, (for purpose of using it as a gps locator), but use only wifi for data.
I have 10euro prepaid card and I would like to use it for emergency, I do not want to have pushed email while I'm driving ..etc.

Having 3G on or activated shouldn't be necessarily for GPS - some people have the 3G iPad for its GPS capability and never activate 3G on it

put your photos / videos on the cloud, access them on your other devices..
You can also backup your phone.

Using both WiFi and GPRS (not at the same time!)

When at home I want my E71 to use the WiFi, probably also when available in hotels etc. but otherwise I want to use the GPRS data conenction. There doesn't seem to be any easy way to set things up so that the E71 uses the 'best' connection.
Am I missing something or do I always have to select the connection method manually?

Your not missing anything, its not there. If you want to change the connection an application uses you need to do it manually each time.
The other option is to load an application such as this one.

Hi friends. I am using Nokia C3 since past 3yrs. I have got mtnl wifi at home. Since past 2days my whatsapp is getting connected to vodafone (packet data). I have deleted all connection from my mobile of vodafone net, but still this gets connected. Please friends guide me through this as i want to use only my mtnl wifi for all apps and browsers.

9300 Curve wifi problem - cannot connect to internet using only wifi once data turned off

I've got a 9300 Curve with a data plan from Rogers. I want to use my wifi in hotspots when I go overseas without using my data. I have no problems connecting to wifi networks. Once I turn off my data services, my connections to the wifi network show that the signal is still just as strong, but I can't use my browser, facebook, bbm, etc. - message is "unable to connect to internet" when I try and access my browser. This problem occurs whether I'm using a public hotspot or my home router. I used to be able to access wifi without using data from Rogers on my older Curve (can't remember the model), so I don't think it has anything to do with my plan.
Any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated!

Did you mean "leave data ON and turn off data roaming"? But that would just turn off my data while I'm roaming, and while I'm not roaming, it'll still access through data and not through wifi like I would prefer. That's what I understand, but pls correct me if I'm wrong! I guess I meant to also mention that whether I'm in my home zone or overseas, I still can't use my browser, bbm, etc through wifi only, with data turned off...it just says there's no connection to the server/internet, even though it shows that I'm connected to a wifi network.

When I have my data settings on, I am able to perform all the BlackBerry functions, such as BBM, Email, etc. When I turn off data, and am on a Wifi network, I can only use the browser, There is no connection to the BlackBerry service. This problem is with all the people I know on Loop Mobile. With other users on Vodafone or Airtel, only wifi works perfectly fine. Please help! It is very expensive to use data when on International Roaming!

When you turrn off your data, you get NO data.
You need to turn OFF your mobile network, and leave data on. WiFi data and BIS will work then.

We put a battery in from my mother's micro and it worked fine. It even charged it. I purchased an extended warranty on the player, but they don't cover batteries. I called Creative and was told since it was past three months old, I would have to pay 2.00 to talk to them. I decided not to pay the 2.00 and get support through email. Well, here is the answer according to creative zen; The battery is under a year old so if it is dead, they will replace it. Now here is the interesting part. I will have to send in the whole player and the battery so they can verify it. It will cost me a non-refundable 25.00 to do this. Has anyone out there experienced this? What happened?

Your battery has a memory inside of it. The memory tells the computer how long to charge the battery until it's full. When the battery constantly gets only half charged, the memory gets corrupted. This is a problem with any device that uses a battery and gets charged. Cell phones always have this issue.
I would first try to let your laptop go completely dead with the battery. Next plug in the power for 12+ hours without using it. This may not fix the issue because the memory may already be toast. You can call Apple and see if they will replace it again. The best way to preserve your battery is to always let the battery go dead before charging. This is not easy on a laptop. I have done this on my cellphone and after 3 years it still held about the same charge. I have not done this on my laptop but my laptop is almost always plugged into a power source.

Yes, it is possible. I'd recommend you backup before you do anything else, if you use iCloud you can do this over the air that way, otherwise connect iPhone to your computer and iTunes and backup there first, just in case.
All done? Right, connect your iPhone to USB cable and charger and plug-in as if charging, not strictly necessary especially if your phone is at full charge, but it can take a while to download especially with demand at present.
Go to Settings->General->Software Update
You should see that iOS 7 is ready for download, follow prompts from here to download and install via Wifi.

Just updated software to 7.0.6 to find wifi facility lost and battery efficiency reduced. Apple store advise to buy a new phone. Surely the problem stems from the update ?

Also try settings>general>reset>reset all settings
If you have followed that article and restored your phone and set it up as new and you're still having that issue you may call and explain you followed the article and are still having the problem. Most likely they will either set up a replacement for you. If they ask you to set up the one time phone support agreement, and they assist you with a restore again, they won't bill you if they end up having to repair it.
