Nokia C5-00 5MP confusion!!

Hi all
I am in the UK and want to purchase the latest C5-00 model with the 5mp camera and 256 RAM. I am really confused because I have found a few of the C5-00 5MP models on ebay but then the associated spec states that it boasts the old ram of 128MB. This has really confused me. I am after the newer model, where can I get this from? Is it even available in the UK?

Welcome to Discussions, mizzkhan.
The particular Nokia device in question has two variants, the C5-00 with 128MB working RAM and its much better twin, C5-00.2 with 256 megabytes of onboard RAM. Its sales and production has ceased for a couple of years already making it difficult to find a new one. The model identifiers can be seen on the retail box.
I advise contacting your local Nokia support or retailers near your area as there is a chance that clearance stocks might still be there.
Good luck

  • Connecting my Nokia C5-00 5MP to internet using ov...

First of all sorry to put my problem in this discussion. I was not able to find how to start new discussion. My problem is I have to make several attempts to connect my Nokia C5-00 5MP to internet using ovi suite which should happen in 1st attempt only. Previously internet connection disconnected automatically if kept idle for few minutes which was solved by downloading a fix at microsofts website. Is there any such fix to resolve my current problem? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Joker88,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
Just to verify, did you follow the same procedures below?
To use your phone as a modem to connect a compatible PC to web.
Install the Nokia Suite to your PC. The latest Nokia Suite includes the compatible drivers.
Connect the data cable and select Connect PC to Web. The confirmation is displayed: Connect PC to web mode activated.
When the necessary Windows software is installed to your PC, accept the installation. If asked, accept the connection as well and the internet browser of your PC will open.
Check the connection settings (Internet Access Point) from your phone for your PC. Select Web > Options > Settings > General > Access point.
Please make sure that you're using a compatible USB cable and your PC has the latest Nokia Suite installed. You may install this software from here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/nokia-suite/
    Hope this helps.

  • Ovi? nokia? I'm confused

On my phone it says clearly nokia. It's a nokia phone made by nokia. This web page has a Nokia (connecting people) on the top left side. What on earth is Oki? other than the finnish word for portal. Oki maps Oki shop. Clear, its a portal from nokia but why call it ovi (=portal) and not, well, nokia.
Everytime a page by Nokia comes up I'm confused if I should enter my nokia account details or my ovi account details, logon with my nokia username or my ovi username.
Could someone of the marketing department clear this up a bit for a simple technical guy?
    Thanks!

  • E72: Is there a new firmware for Nokia Messaging ?

    Hello,
I have E72 and it has integrated Nokia Messaging. But when I look up Nokia's messaging website, It talks about additional functions like social networking as part of nokia messaging. Are these available for E72 ? I also see the newer Nokia phones,C3,C6 & E5 already have the new version of messaging softwware. Any idea if E72 will get these ?
    Thanks

Nokia Messaging is rather confusing as there are different components.
There's Nokia Messaging Email which is built into the E72 email client (which is part of the firmware).
Then there's Nokia Messaging for IM (aka 'Chat'), which you should have pre-installed as the 'Chat' app.
Finally there's Nokia Messaging for Social Networks which is another separate app.
If you go to http://messaging.nokia.com/ and select your phone, it will show you the services available in NM. You can't download the Email client as it's built into the firmware. You can download the IM app though to update the one built in (I think it may be available via Control Panel -> Phone -> Software Update on the phone also).
NM for Social Networks isn't currently available for the E72 officially. It was available as a beta but it's been removed, I believe due to quality issues. I had downloaded it and frankly it was fairly rubbish.
Personally, if you want an app for Facebook, you can do better getting the official Facebook app for the E72 (from the Ovi Store) and for Twitter get Gravity. The latter has some beta and alpha versions which also support Facebook (plus as GPS support and other features) which work great. Yes, Gravity costs money, but frankly it's well worth paying for as it's one of the best Twitter clients on any mobile phone.
P.S. NM for Email can only be updated by a firmware update of the email client. There are newer versions of the email client for 5th edition as it's not integrated into the firmware. Unfortunately Nokia decided to integrate it on the E72 and these updates are not available to us. That means crucially we don't get Destinations support in the email client

  • Message problem in C5-00 5MP

Guys i have a problem in my new nokia c5-00 5MP , that first my mobile was showing a blinking message sign , then i open the message> option > sim messages > and i copy all these messages to another because hose are imprtant messages for me and then delete all messages form sim card. But after that mobile showing a unread message sign not blinking. i have saerch my inbox every message and and every folder but all are read. then why c5 is showing that unread message sign. plz guys help me. thnx

    Hi Annej,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions,
A blinking envelop in your display usually means your Sim card has stored messages which need to be removed to free space on the SIM card memory.
To delete your Sim messages go to messaging --> Options -->SIM Messages
Make sure you delete/transfer all the messages in your Sim card.

  • Does Nokia 515 have TTS (Text-to-Speech)?

    Hi,
my friend who lost 90% of his eyesight is an avid Nokia user.
He has been using E52 phone for many years mainly for it Text-to-Speech option which allowed him to use a cellular phone at all. (for those who do not know - the phone reads sms, menus, contacts etc.)
Recently, company he is working at, offered him a phone replacement so he asked for a newer Nokia phone that is similar to E52 functionality-wise. They got him Nokia 515. Although it offers most of the E52 stuff it looks like  this model doesn't have Text-to-Speech support in the system. Is there any way he can enable TTS on this new phone? Or is there maybe any App in the Ovi Store that would offer such functionality?
If not than maybe there is some different modern Nokia phone (but without a touch screen) that supports visually impaired people in such way E52 did?
    Thanks for answering,
    Leaffar

Nokia 515 uses as operating system Nokia Series 40.
Nokia E52 uses as operating system Nokia Symbian/S60.
I am neither aware of any solution via the Nokia Store, nor newer models than the Nokia C5-00 5MP. Technically compared to your Nokia E52, this is a step back because it does not offer Wi-Fi.

  • Please help to use nokia 520

hi i am rama, i have a nokia 520 but i confuse how to send a song file using bluetooth, please help...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First, you need to activate Bluetooth by swiping left from the Start screen then selecting Settings > Bluetooth.
Now open your music player and browse to the song you would like to share. Start playback of the song, then tap Menu (three small dots on the bottom right of the screen) then tap Share > Bluetooth > the name of the device you would like to share with.

  • Default Nokia ringtone instead of assigned one

    Hi,
I am getting this more and more often. I have a ringtone assignes for alla calls and users. But often it uses the default Nokia ringtone, leaving me confused and not knpwing that it is actually my phone tha is ringing
Any ideas og solutions about this?
    Cheers...

Many users have reported having this problem.  It's nothing to do with selecting alternative (non Nokia-supplied) tracks or having them stored on mass storage.  It happened to me a couple times and I am using one of the Nokia supplied tunes that are stored in the phone memory.

  • E75 messaging application not working

    Hi,
I have recently purchased an E75 and at first glance it looks to be very nice. However, now i have run into the problem that messaging is not working properly. The message indicator is telling me that I have 6 new messages. When I try to go menu>>messages the application tries to open but immediately crashes. Also when I try to open the messages directly by clicking on them from the message indicator the same behavior seems to happen.
Has anybody experienced the same? How do I get rid of these messages if I can't open them?
    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I've had similar problems with my E75.
I've found that Nokia Messaging simply gets confused & over-loaded, and gives up.
Try accessing you email account from your computer.
Then, delete all of your messages from your inbox & sent folders.
Basically, purge as much as possible.
Then try accessing it from your E75.
    This usually works for me.

  • E7 Or N8

Guys, I Need Nokia Phone . Im Confused Between The E7 and N8. The E7 Lacks Good Camera But Its 4 screen Inch Looks and Keyboard Keeps Me Interested In It. The N8 Has Become Old. Its Camera Is The Best No Doubt Still I Need A Phone With Overall Qualities. Good Camera, 4 screen And Good Hardware And Looks. Does The Autofocus Matter? Or Images Come Clear Without It Also. Help Me Out Fast?
According To U Al, N8 looks Better Or E7?

This type of question is really subjective and can only be answered by you ! If you put the phones together they work much the same IMO they are both great, but then I like Symbian^3 and Nokia phones . If photography is your priority then the N8 is the ONLY choice . I use the E7 and love it for it's features over the N8 but macro photography and flash photography are very limited and you have no expendable memory , I can live with this and most of the pictures I'v taken are fair to good and the media experience on the E7 is much better IMHO . If neithe tick all your boxes you need to look at other makes and models , personally I'm extremely happy with my choice , but independent research is the best course of action. Good luck with your choice whatever it is

  • E72 but with a standard mobile keypad

Are there any plans for an E72 phone but with a standard mobile keypad (ie not qwerty but ABC/DEF/GHI etc)?

Does it have to be an E series model?
Have you considered any of nokia's other 5MP smartphones that have the same (or newer OS)?
    For example:
    6720classic (standard keypad)
    6700slide (standard keypad)
    N79 (standard keypad)
N97/mini (on screen standard keypad + slide out qwerty)
C6 (on screen standard keypad + slide out qwerty)
Unfortunately other than that all you can do is wait and hope that a future model will have the features you need.

  • N97 video/photo folder

Nokia have always kinda confused me with the way they change the media folders in their phones. i had the 6120 which had videos and photos separately, then the n95-8gb which had them all in the same place but you could make new folders for them. The 5800 had them separated again, and now the n97 has 'photos' for both, but with the option of making folders. Good. But, apparently 'videos and tv' doesn't have the option. is this correct or have i just missed a trick somewhere? I find it hard to swallow that nokia accept we want to categorise photos, but not videos. And if they suggest we just make video folders in the photos section, why have a videos section at all?
Also, when i transferred my photos from my old phone to the n97 they went to the photo 'downloads' section. I've now moved them into separate folders but they remain in downloads. Is there a way to empty the download folder without wiping all the photos?

Try using the User Search, there are several threads on this subject already.

  • E72 photos captured are dark

i recently bought an e72 model and i noticed that the pictures i captured are dark, it looks pale,,
I even compare it to nokia 6700 classic (5mp also) and it has a big difference. Pictures captured by 6700 is very much better than e72..
why? does it have to do with the settings? how? pls help... tnx

Most cellphone camera has little opening so in order to take full advantage of it you need to use it mainly in outdoor environment where the light is abundant. The worst quality you will get is by taking pictures indoors with little or lack of light(it depends on the light coming into the camera lense instead the whole ambient light). If you want to compare try taking an outdoor shot with plenty of light.
And the bigger the opening, the better the camera will be at taking pictures with less than ideal lighting.
Heck even some pretty hardcore photographer camera(non cellphone) will give you less than good quality when the light is lacking.
The secret is none can match the quality of pictures or scenes that our eyes and brain captures in pretty much real time lol. Pretty much thesame with voice recorder that unable to 100% record the authencity of people's signature voice. If you played back a voice recording what you hear is an approximation of the original voice that is different from the original voice since it was processed electronically and the signal gets changed. And that happens in wireless communication too.
