Nokia C5 video recording complaint

Dear All,
                    I have bought a Nokia C5 in the month of November 2011 the day i got the set I found that the hand set hangs on several occations, and later I found that the problem mainly occurs on video recording, when I recorded a video clip with enough space in memory card, after around 10 minutes, the phone hangs and switch offs, and the video recorded till then was lost, with this complaint I approached the Nokia Care at Trivandrum, they received the hand set and said  it was a software complaint, they have to send the hand set to delhi and get it repaired, It took a 10 days waiting period to get it back, when I received I found the same problem is still there, I again approached and gave the hand set to the customer care and that also took 10 days,  and later i was given a new replacement hand set,   .....unfortunatly,,,,,,,the problem was still there,,,,,,,I approached the customer care and gave the hand set again,,,,,,,got back the set with the same problem...................I am totally fed up with this hand set,,,,,,,I even called the Nokia customer care at Banglore.......(got a complaint no)..............Not expecting any wonders from them too.................................The final destination is only the consumer court..........
BETTER BUY A CHINA MOBILE....................... NEVER EVER BUY A NOKIA MOBILE............

I am sorry you had a bad experience with Nokia Care.  I once telephoned Nokia support and had to explain to the technician what a magnetometer is.  (On the other hand, I have a had a few really good Nokia support calls.)  Support quality is random no matter where you go.
There are several phones called "C5", and you don't say which one you own.  My first question would have been whether you tried recording to a different memory card.  The 4 GB card that came with my E73 is supposed to be a class 4, but does much worse at recording audio and video than my class 2 Sandisk cards.  Can you borrow a known good card from a friend (Sandisk, Kingston, etc.) and try recording more video?  A poor card doesn't necessarily excuse the phone hanging, but if the problem disappears, that is almost as good as a firmware fix.

  • Nokia E72 Video Recording Lags

    Hello,
    Recently my Nokia E72 has begun to lag after about 8 seconds after starting the recording.
    After I finish record (with the lag) my processed video will jitter and pixelate where the lag spikes occured during recording.
    This was not a problem until after I updated to the latest firmware a few weeks ago.
    I have looked everywhere online for a solution and have decided here might bring some possible solutions. Is there any way to try and fix this without downgrading the firmware?

    Just tested on my E72 running 081.003 firmware, the same problem though it lags for only 3 or 4 seconds. I actually didn't realise this before.
    Wondering if SD defragment could help as flash memory card does not use hard disk's way to address tracks and sectors.
    Anyway, will have a try if possible.
    BTW, I personally don't think resetting the phone could help here, and the problem should not be related to other apps, too.

    Hi, im interested in the Nokia 66430 and just wondered what the recording time was on it. Also what do people think of the phone thanks.

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 video recording on Microsd card i...

    First off, I have a Nokia Lumia 1520 for about one month now.  I love the screen size and everything.  My picture/video recording to phone memory works fine.  I have recently purchased a Class 10 Sandisk Pixtor 64GB microsd card from Best buy for video/pictures storage due to this device having only 16GB of memory.
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sandisk-pixtor-64gb-microsdhc-class-10-memory-card/1299201.p?id=12190475...
    Picture taking is fine writing to this card.  However, I noticed that on all video recording mode (720p to 1080p), the video would sometimes skip and lose a few frames here and there.  For example, when i try to record a video of a kid running, the video playback will show the kid run across but would jerk or freeze a bit during his run (almost like the phone is too busy doing other tasks during recording).  Playing the same videos on a computer show the same result which means the video taken were bad to begin with.  My temporary fix is to switch video/picture recording to the phone storage itself but that defeats buying the sd card in the first place.
    Anybody else having this issue?  I couldn't find another microsd card to test but i wonder if the phone itself is having a performance issue with sd cards in general.  Should i engage with tech support from Nokia?

    It is quite well known that Class10 card are overkill on a mobile phone and in many cases have been proven to actually have worse performance when compared to even Class4 cards.
    Class10 cards really only make sense in (high end) DSLR ca,eras where itis a requirement the shots can be written to the card fast. In practical use the class only indicates the card cab sustain a transferrate of X MB/s and with that in mind a Class4 card even will be plenty fast for your mobiel phone.
    Due to the fact a Class10 card is basically overspec for the hardware it may even cause timing issues.

  • Nokia 5230 video playback and recording

    I own the latest nokia 5230. The problem is :
    1) When I doing video record using setting TV high quality and Widescr. high quality, it seems
         that my video skip on certain seconds. Using email high quality and below doesn't give any
         problems but the quality is very poor.
    2) The problem also occured on playback. Realplayer can't play the skip second on recording
          and then run as normal back after certain time.
    It happens all the time as long I used both video setting. I just want to know the solution for this or there is any video recorder software like ETI Camcoder in Nokia s60 series?
    Sorry for my bad grammar. I just don't know how to describe this problem. Thanks a lot.

    This could be caused by a slow memory card...try this to confirm...
    backup your card  data in pc, format your memory card..

  • (Nokia N9) Is the video recording really that bad?

    Hello guys, there's some time that I'm using the Nokia N9 and I just can't believe that the video recording quality is that bad, I came from a Nokia C6-01 and honestly, the C6-01 is much much better. The problem with the N9 is that when you move the camera the video become a mess full of artifacts, the auto-focus and the incredible audio recording become irrelevant when the videos don't make any justice for what you expect from HD videos. It's just sad that this only happens when you are moving the camera, if you stand still, the quality is incredible and the audio quality makes it perfect. I bet that the problem is from the low bitrate from the N9 videos. I'm hopeless but I wonder if there's a mod or anything that can be done to make the videos look better?

    The N9 does have an issue on video recording.
    When I was still using the Nokia N9, there are some frame lags and video quality is not at its best. Details are good on me but not as good as my Lumia 710 or the Nokia E7.
    And yet unfortunately, I can't help you on this one.
    If I have helped you in any way, give me a kudos!

  • Nokia 701 Stereo Video Recording.

    I'm just disappointed.

    Tagged date : UTC 2011-10-05 09:16:20
    In specifications it is written that 2 microphones for stereo recording.
    I have tested the audio recorded in 720p video recording by playing music from other phone and moving it around Nokia 701 from left to right, and top to bottom from some distance and the result is no stereo recording.
    Atleast you should be able recognise movement of sound from left ear to the right and vice versa but no luck.
    I don't know where is another microphone but just there is no stereo effect.
    I don't know how this phone records the audio using its two microphones (If present) but may be the sound from two microphones are first mixed and then recorded same to the two channels instead of left microphone to the left channel and right to right channel.
    Now at present 701 records HD Video plus an audio with mono effect recorded to two channels.

  • RE: Nokia 6500 Slide Video Recording

    Hi,
    I was wondering what the maximum length of video recording is on this phone ie is it as long as memory card lasts or is there a maximum time in mb or time that it can record.
    My wife has the 6500 slide but our toddler got his hands on the phone and Ibought a micro sd card to put in it but it does not stay in it, I was wondering if this is the design or if there should be plastic bits to hold the microsd card in place which may have got damaged. I thought maybe it was secured by the phone back but when i remove it carefully I see the microsd is nowhere near where it should be.
    I am looking to change my phone and would like  a nokia which can record in high or low quality like the 6500 slide, will save video when the battery is running low rather than just turn off and lose the video recording. I have another brand of phone and this happens sometimes when making a recording and it is lost. It seems with the 6500 slide this does not happen but it saves it instead. I would also like it to have good battery life if possible,
    Thanks in Advance,
    cmkm35

    hi there Candi86, i just answered your question about the memory cards not being recognised in your 6500 slide, so i'm guessing in the four hours between questions you went and bought a 6500 slide . so quick to decide!
    anyways, to answer your question here, yes 6500 slide does make/receive video calls, the camera is on the front near the earpiece. you will see two smallish holes, one of these is the VGA camera using for video calls and the other is an ambient light sensor. it would be awkward to use the main camera on the back as a video call camera! but no worries, as i've stated, the one on the front serves this purpose.
    enjoy your 6500 slide, its a good phone!

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 Video recording/playback issues.

    I seem to have issues with video recording. Video seems to have some pause "still" effects when taking video and playback in phone shows those stops very clearly as it freezes for while and jumps many seconds forward.
    When I play same file in PC with video player the video plays better but still I can manage to see some small Glitch in video like my phone did stop recoding for some frames.  I have been using SD card and phone memory and both have same problem.

    No solution so far and it is my wife phone so haven't have much reason to play with it find solution. She only takes photos anyway.
    This current phone has already broke down 2 sim cards also or wireless charging did brake those not sure after stop using wireless charging 3rd sim card have been fine.
    someday when have I feeling to take this phone to warranty service I will try wireless charging again.

  • Video recording issues (it jumps and the audio sto...

    Dear Support team,
    I was very satisfied with my phone for a couple of months but nowadays I've an annoying issue with the video recordings of my Nokia Lumia 920. I've noticed in the past few weeks that there's a "bleep" or a "jump" in each video I take. (Nokia Camera software, Lumia Black, RM-821_eu_hungary_434)
    It's very dissapointing because every video is let's say faulty at some point of the video.
    For example please take a look at the following video at 0:34 where not just the video "jumps" but the audio recording also stops for a couple of seconds:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD9R2x5Kx4c
    The interesting thing is that during the next 21 minutes it did not make any mistakes while recording.
    Please take a look at an another example at 3:31:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYQ5vNY-BUw
    If you're interested in debugging the issue I can send you somehow (by FTP or so) the original files as well.
    I have got more videos which are like this and it was shown like this on the phone's screen as well so I've ruled out the possibility to have an issue while transfering it to my PC.
    I'm assuming that possibly there's something wrong with the Lumia 920's RAM memory or with the 32GB internal storage drive, e.g.: let's say bad sector like on hard drives.
    The phone recently had it's first freezing while I was reading my facebook the phone suddenly went black and restarted.
    I still have 1,5 year warranty on my phone but I've bought ~150 km far away so I hopeI won't need to travel there and wait for weeks and to travel there again to get my phone back! What do you suggest?
    Is it possible that it's rather a software issue not a hardware? Or should I return my phone to the retail shop or is there any downloadable software patch to correct this issue? Is this a known issue to you?
    I've noticed one more thing: when I'm using my phone for e.g. like 10 minutes it's back cover gets warmer and warmer somewhere around the camera; I thought first it's because of the higher processor and battery usage but I don't think it's normal. The "heat issue" is also present while playing with a game.
    Info: my battery lasts for 1,5 day or so by very moderate usage, is it normal? (4 times a day wifi for 5-10 minutes, max. 1 pcs one minute call per day)
    Thanks for your help in advance,
    Best Regards

    Hi All,
    I'm shocked about this device as you know I was disappointed due to the video recording glitches previously, but what yesterday happened is the worst I could ever imagine: I've recorded 3 videos and from this 3 videos 2 are unplayable even on my phone and on my PC, it gives an error message: "The video failed to play".
    The 2 files can't be seen in the camera roll only by using Pocket File Manager.
    I was able to copy all files to my computer:
    WP_20140802_21_16_58_Pro.mp4 - 661 203 084 bytes - playable
    WP_20140802_21_22_19_Pro.mp4 - 3939 658 131 bytes - unplayable
    WP_20140802_22_13_59_Pro.mp4 - 3235 991 965 bytes - unplayable
    To me these 2 videos are really very important, please help me to recover them! Please tell me, how you want me to send the files as they're, ~4GB each, by using Onedrive or how?
    If this issue won't be solved I'm considering NOT TO BUY a Nokia again! Can it be a hardware related issue, e.g. faulty internal flash? Should I return the phone to the retail shop?
    Regards
    Richard Mark NAGY

  • Video Recording.

    Hi all,
    I am programming a part of recording video from the integrated camera.
    The following is the code:
    try {
    Player p = Manager.createPlayer("capture://video");
    p.realize();
    RecordControl rc = (RecordControl)p.getControl("RecordControl");
    ByteArrayOutputStream output = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    rc.setRecordStream(output);
    rc.startRecord();
    p.start();
    Thread.currentThread().sleep(5000);
    rc.commit();
    p.close();
    byte[]data=output.toByteArray(); //GET BYTE ARRAY.
    ============================
    try
    fc = (FileConnection) Connector.open("file:///E:/Video/"+"newVideo.mp4" ); fc.create();
    os = fc.openOutputStream();
    os.write(data);
    os.close();
    fc.close();
    catch (IOException e)
    =====================
    I have tried and I works on my hand phone (N95). However the problem is that:
    _ I dont know how to show video while recording
    _I just simply create a mp4 video from byte[] variable, not sure it is correct or not. And the video resolution is very low (about 120*120).*
    The video quality is very poor while recording video using Nokia program the quality is much better.
    SO any one can help me? THanks in advance.

    Btw, I continue..
    In this link: http://209.85.175.104/search?q=cache:bTylDUTfWBcJ:mobilezoo.biz/nokia_N95_specs+video+record+n95+j2me&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=8&gl=sg
    It says that N95 can encode video in 3 formats: mp4, 3gpp2,gpp. I wonder how? I just can record and output is byte[] data, after that I just create a mp4 file.
    I wonder how to encode in different format and what is benefit of doing so?
