  • Using song as alarm tone

I have a Nokia 6710 Navigator. I have downloaded an mp3 onto my phone, which I want to use as my alarm tone. I have selected the song as my alarm tone, and at the set time the song begins playing.
My issue is that, when playing as an alarm, only 1 minute of the mp3 plays.
Is it possible to change the settings so that the whole mp3 file plays (approx 3 minutes) when I'm using it as an alarm?
    Thank you for your help

So could anybody tell me then what length limitations the phones have?
1 minute for the alarm, for the regular ringtone "unlimited" (e.g. a song with 5:00 length)?
Is there any website with specifications/requirements for customisations/custom files (wallpaper/tehem/tone/etc.)?
    regards
    Pete

  • No sound when clip uses mp3 for its audio source in iMovieHD

My finished DVD plays OK on computer DVD players, but when I put it in a set-top box (I've tried on two), it plays the main chapter muted. I've experimented with all possible audio settings on my set-top DVD players to no avail.
The iMovie project contained three chapters. The first and last chapters play OK, and they use camera mic audio. The one in the mddle uses mp3s for its audio, grabbed from my iTunes library (they are not DRM or anything like that).
Any ideas? I'm using iMovieHD/iDVD 6, my QT is 7.1.5

Search this forum for imported iTunes music into iDVD and you will see there are many who are having very similar issues with these imported mp3 files. The topic has been well covered already. Has it been completely resolved yet? ..... No.
However, you should follow the advice on these posts carefully and make sure to use apple's software updater to help resolve many of these known issues.
I believe John Griffin's reply /post sums up the current status well:
I suspect burning out to a CD and then pulling back in would work, but I'd love apple to do better than that. Being able to bang out a DVD in few easy steps is (was?) the appeal of the Mac/ILife suite, and I don't have the time or inclination to make the process more complex.
I just installed a new ITunes update that must have come out in the last few days, and, drumroll please,...... the problem persists....

  • Using MP3s for ringtones on nokia 5200

I just got the 5200 and i've transferred lots of mp3s to my memory card but the phone will not allow me to use the mp3s for ringtones. When I select options the Use tone option is gray and when I select it I get either a message saying the file size is too large, or when I transferred smaller files I get the error "not allowed by activation key"
    any helpful advice?
    thanks in advance

OK ... here's what I found ... .MP3's on Nokia 5200 won't work as ringtones. Also, .AAC's won't work either unless they have some special code associated with them (supposedly to help protect copyrighted material ... I think it's a scam to make you buy ringtones). However, it will recognize and use .WAV files. I used Nero to convert a 30 second section of an .MP3 to a .WAV file with the following attributes (formatCM,samplerate:22kHz,channels:1(mono),sampling:8bit,bitrate:176kbps). Regardless, any previous setting I used can be altered. These settings gave me a good quality sound and kept a 30 second .WAV file under 600kB (any bigger and Nokia may complain of the file being too big). Pain in the **bleep**.

  • Nokia E51 - Can't set clock alarm tone

    Hey there people!
My device is Nokia E51, and for some, bizarre reason, I can't set the clock alarm tone.
When I choose the sub-menu "Clock alarm tone" a list of songs/audio files on the phone is supposed to load.... but nothing there. The phone doesn't even give me any options to choose from. I actually find this quite frustrating and annoying because I'm trying to do something very basic here.
    I've attached a capture.
    Thanks for helpers.

Well the reason I asked about the large number of audio files is because it appears to be a common bug across many of nokias phones.   When you have a large number of audio files (either on the card or on the phone itself) the phone apparently gets 'confused' and is unable to load up the selection of ringtones or music files to use as a ringtone.
The only solutions would be to either:
    1)  Delete songs until the ringtone menu goes back to normal
    2)  Do what you have done with copying it to the phone then removing the memory card to be able to select the file.. then reinsert the memory card
Nokia just needs to get their act together. They should seperate ringtones from the music files.  This way when you go to select a ringtone.. it will ask to either choose a ringtone from a list.. or to select one of your mp3s from a list. This way keeping it seperate.  But that would be extra menus to navigate and people probably wouldnt like it.
But if they did it that way then they could use the mp3 listings by album, artist, song title, etc to allow people to choose the music files they want as a ringtone.  It would be easier to do that then continually scroll through huge lists

  • Using song for text tone on ipad

Can I set a song on my iPad as a text tone?

Actually you can. It took me 10 minutes first time and you need to use itunes on Mac or Windows to create one. Remember that you can't use more then 5 seconds of the song for alert.
    Here are instructions.

-to set a ring for a contact: select contact of choice>open:so you can view contact's info>options>ringing tone.
-stored music is in the list of ringtones. if you select profiles>personalize>ringing tone. all songs are available to choose from.

  • Nokia 3600 slide Alarm Tone

I really like the default 'standard' alarm tone, and would like to use it as a ringtone (the tone that is used when you select "Standard" instead of "Radio" or "Open Gallery" or "Tone Downloads" in the alarm menu).  I cannot find that melody in the tones library as being available as a ringtone.  It seemed to me that it would be stored *somewhere* in the phone's memory, but I can't find it anywhere in the libraries.
Thanks in advance for trying to help!

  • Nokia 301 set the alarm tone

    Hi,
is there a way to set different clock alarm tone? (I didn't manage to find it in the user guide)
    Thank you

    farby is righ....
When you are setting the alarm time, if you scroll down there is an option to set the Alarm tone - Standard, Radio, Open Files, Tone downloads.
Use Open Files > Alert Tones and there are some different tones you can use there.
Edited to add: And while mucking about with it myself, up popped the message that you can switch your phone off at night and the alarm will still go off to wake you up. That's a nice feature.... though considering all the questions about battery life, how will that work!? Just checked the 206 does this too, is this a general feature of Nokia phones?
