  • Nokia x6 shutting down when take/recieve call

    Hello,
my Nokia x6, 16 gb (aprox. 3 months old) have this annoying issue. The phone ocasionally turns off when i call, or recieve a call (i hear a click and phone turns off). I have to manually start it again. Sometimes the problem persists for a few next calls, while sometimes it doesn't. Anyways,i usually let it be for a day or two, and use my old phone. But this is getting really frustrating now, after all, i bought it to use it!
I have tried the hard reset, the factory reset. I took it to the official repair shop here in my country, where i demanded they take away the **bleep** vodafone, preventing me to update further than v20 firmware.
The repair shop gave it back, saying there are no more problems. Im taking a guess even they did those soft/hard resets. I have the latest firmware (v30) and yes the phone does work much faster, but just now i did get another shutdown when having a conversation ! I even uninstalled pretty much all not needed apps (facebook, youtube, accuweather, games, ...) on the new firmware.
I cannot have such a unpredictable phone, especially when i am working and have to take important calls. Imagine how it is, when the phone dies in the middle of important conversation with the boss/costumer. I need a RELIABLE phone!
So i kindly ask you people, did you have similar occurances?
If yes, how did you fix it?
What do you think, it is a software or a hardware issue?
The problem did happen even at day 1, but i thought it was an application i installed back then, that did this problems.
    Any reply's would be appreciated!

you should send it back and ask for a replacement explain to nokia its been already there
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • My Satellite laptop (A305) shuts down when run on the AC charger/adapter

The problem is that my Toshiba _A300 series laptop (A305) shuts down when you try to run it on the AC charger/adapter_. You can boot it with the power cord plugged in and it will get to Windows Desktop and maybe a few minutes more at most before shutting off.
It will boot and _run from battery without problem_, but if you plug in the AC while it is up and running on battery the machine will normally click off instantly and reboot to the message "Windows was not shut down correctly."
The _AC adapter works fine_ reading a steady 19.19 to 19.20 volts with a voltmeter. It also _charges the battery fine when the computer is off_. I have two Toshiba brand batteries and they both work fine.
One interesting thing is that the _computer runs fine on AC when in safe mode_.
I _did a reformat/factory restore_ of Vista to assure it was not software and drivers, and still got the same problem before any external devices had been plugged in.
It has the latest BIOS and I tried resetting it to default values in case anything had gotten changed. It made no difference.
This is _not a heating issue_ because _while it is run on battery I can watch long videos_ without it shutting off. I ran compressed air through the vents just to make sure, but it makes no difference in behavior. Usually with an overheating shut-off, the computer cannot be started until it has cooled some, but these shutdowns are accompanied by an instant reboot.
I have seen on some threads that this type of problem one can work around by disabling one of the processors in Device Manager, but I don't think that is much of a lasting solution or good for the computer.
Has anyone seen this problem before and have you come with a full diagnosis of the problem and a real solution?

I have Satellite A300 and until now everything works OK.
I would like to know what happen when you remove the battery and use notebook with power supply only. Does notebook shuts down again.
If not let OS run and put the battery.
Is the battery recognized properly? Does notebook switch off again?
To be honest I cannot imagine this issue has something with software or background processes. Recovery image you got with your notebook is designed for this certain notebook mode. Recovery image is tested and I dont think preinstalled OS has anything to do with this.
    Full diagnosis?
And how to do this? You know very well that diagnosis can be done with diagnostic tools only and such tools have services only. I hope you will find answers but Im 99% sure there is nothing you can do about that. Maybe you should contact service, explain the situation and ask for help.

  • Battery doesn't charge AND frequent shut down when only on AC power

    Hello all,
I've spent some time browsing and searching this forum to avoid asking a question that has already been answered but I haven't seen a complete answer to this situation so here goes.
I have a Lenovo 3000 N100 model 0768DKU.  Battery (P/N 92P1185) started not charging/not holding a change about 6-8 months ago AND the laptop now abruptly shuts down even when on AC power.  From the forum I found out about the 18 month battery replacement policy but I'm just a few months past the 18 months so out of luck there.  Normally I would just buy a new battery but the last few months I've been getting very frequent shut downs when the laptop is exclusively on AC power even with the battery removed!  This has kept me from buying a battery because the laptop won't stay on even when it's plugged into the wall then how will a battery help?
This has really thrown me for a loop since the laptop may run 30 minutes then it's dead like you pulled the power cord.  Turn it back on maybe 10 minutes then dead, or 5 minutes then dead repeat over and over.
Steps I've taken since browsing the forums:
    Virus scans/spyware are clean
Used compressed air on the fan vent to remove a little dust, opened up and sprayed out dust nothing major.
Speedfan is reporting cpu temperatures of 65C to 69C at 99% idle.
    Reseated memory
    Questions:
Would a new battery potentially solve this problem?  I'm not sure how since it shuts down even with the battery removed and only the power cord plugged in.
    Bad AC adapter?
Thermal problem?  It looks like the cpu is still below temperature ranges based on Intel but it sure seem like a thermal problem to me the way it shuts down.  I'm trying some new thermal grease tonight but not sure if that will realy make a difference.
Any suggestions, I'd hate for it to be motherboard, etc.
Sorry if this was answered elsewhere I've seen all the battery posts but not how the battery would address the fact the laptop shuts down even when on AC power with or without the battery installed.
    Thanks,
    Chad

Hard reset didn't work for me either, thanks for the tip it was worth a shot.
Thermal paste kept temps lower around 45C still suddenly shut off like usual while on AC power.  3, 5, minutes, etc.  Doesn't appear to be thermal.
Could the "bad" battery somehow be messing up the power circuit and cutting off.  Looks like the battery problem with these units is huge wish I'd been looking earlier since I was within the extended 18 month period at the time.  Just want to hear that someone bought a battery and it fixed the problem....

  • My ipad is not going past the logo screen and it shuts down when I have battery, then it says I need to charge it. I am charging it but it isn't charging. Then my ipad isn't charging (doesn't say not charging) I've tried everything!

First, my ipad wasn't charging. Then it shuts down when I have 7% battery, now when I turn it on, it says to charge it. And when I do charge it, it doesn't work. Now, I did it once it worked. Now I can't get past the logo screen and when I do it shuts right off again. Please help!

    Hi All
I hope all of you are fine
Nokia 5530 xpress music: when I play the music without Nokia headset the volume seems great but when I play the same song with headset the volume goes down.
is the problem from Nokia Headset or from the mobile itself?
    Thanks in advance

    I think this is Normal.
Otherwise It wouldn't do your hearing much good if you set the volume to maximum and then plugged in your headset

My MacBook Air shuts down when its more than half way charged and won't turn on unless I plug it in to the adapter? Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

If you really do have a Mid 2013 Mac Air model then it is still in warranty, as the standard Apple warranty is one year from date of purchase. So take it into an Apple store and have it diagnosed and fixed under the warranty. There is some type of hardware problem that only Apple can fix.

  • Iphone overheats and shuts down when charging ?

    hello,
since i have had my iphone 4s replace in april my iphone overheats and shuts down when charging?
    can anyone help?

My 4S has recently shut down twice so far due to heat: Once in 100+ deg. in Arizona, when I left the phone in direct sunlight too long (that'll kill anything), and once just today, 96 deg. in Colorado, with the phone in my shirt chest pocket, not in direct sunlight. Each time, the phone was also encased in the hermetically sealed "Lifeproof" case, which probably contributed to heat build-up. If you're using a similar case with yours, either make sure to keep the phone in a cooler, shaded area, or just take it out of the case when the temps are this high. Definitely don't leave it in direct sunlight! In my case, although the 4S seems more heat-sensitive than my previous iPhones, I still find this behavior within acceptable parameters. But I wonder whether the overheating episodes might cause permanent damage...?

I  am using 2 unit provided AC charger to charge my iPad mini. After a while, I checked the device. The battery is no longer in charge mode. It is only 80% charged. When I touch the AC charger, it is hot. I need to switch off the AC charger to let it cool down before continue to charge my iPad mini again. Of course it will be 100% charge but must make sure the AC charger is cool down completely.
I feel that the provided AC charger that is not suitable for our charging on iPad mini.

    Hi ohmghimire,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you're seeing unexpected behavior when using USB devices, try resetting the SMC on your MacBook Pro:
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
You can find the article with these steps here:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If you still see this behavior after resetting the SMC, or your computer won't turn on, try the steps in this article next:
