Nokia C6 wifi

My nokia c6 just arrived.(USA)
I havent had any problems yet except I cant get it to connect to the wifi in my house.
I use a strong network and is used by a nokia e71 and laptops.
I have the right key and it connects, but when I try to use facebook, youtube it says no internet connection or wrong server tree name

i bought my c6-00 2 weeks ago, and also, somehow experiencing your wifi problem with your c6. in my case, we have a strong wifi connection at school and i'm able to connect but everytime i browse any site, the page remains blank and sometimes shows a message "invalid server name"
now when i tried connecting in other wifi spots aside from my school, it worked properly..
so i concluded.. there are some points were my c6 wifi doesnt work properly..
try connectin your c6 in other wifi spots, also update your phone software..
but im not satisfied with this wifi connection problem.. any help now so that we can solve our problem?

Nokia c7 wifi auto connects

My nokia c7 wifi autoconnects which i dont want. I diconnect and 2 seconds later it connects again, how do i turn this off?

Are you wanting to use the N81 to connect to a wireless router then to pass on it's internet connection to your PC?
If so that isn't possible.
You will need to buy a wi-fi adaptor for your PC and connect directly to the wireless router. They don't cost much now, less than £10.

Nokia c3 wifi problem with asda pay as you go sim

Any advice greatly appreciated.
Bought a brand new nokia c3 on vodafone pay as you go today because I knew that I would be able to use my Asda pay as you go sim with no problems.
Put my Asda sim straight in and everything seems to be in order except when I try to browse the internet through my home wifi it keeps saying I need to subscribe to packet data first. No browser opens up at all.
I use the same sim with my n95 and browse through wifi with no problems.
Am I missing something obvious?

Is your original contract SIM also an Orange SIM? If not, it could be that your premicell is SIM-locked to the original network. If this is the case you'll need to contact the operator with which you have the current contract and ask them for the network unlock code.
I'm not entirely convinced of the 3G vs. 2G argument because I have hade several really old phones (Philips fizz and Xenium 9@9, Alcatel BE4 to name but 3) that dodn't even do GPRS, only CSD, but which did accept my Orange USIM no problem.

Nokia N8 wifi problem

I have a Nokia N8 with Belle, when i start my Wifi to search that's all it does, sometimes it might restart my phone, i have to cancel searching or my phone freezes. I have tried to re-install the Belle OS on more than 3 occassions & still it does the same, now i never had an issue with the old OS.
All the other phones in the house search & find within seconds but the Nokia N8 constantly searches, i have left it searching for 20mins one time.......Nothing!
Help please........

Did you try hard resetting after reinstalling firmware? Might be worth trying. Remember to backup your data before had.

Nokia C3+Wifi+subscribe to packet data first

Hi all I need help with connecting to the net with my Nokia C3 using Wifi, I did have Ver 3.something and I was able to download Apps and games no problem using Wifi but today I updated the phone to Ver 08.63 and now I keep getting "subscribe to packet data first" I did call my provider and they told me it is nothing they did.

TO ANYONE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION!!!!!
I have had this phone for a week and the WLAN has been very problematic!
To stop the phone from connecting to the GPRS instead of using the WLAN you must...
- Change all the settings to 'ASK FIRST', this includes the internet connection under connectivity and within the saved WLANS, each must have ask first selected.
- You must edit the packet data settings (under connectivity), it must say 'when needed' and then you must change the access point to a different point, e.g. Access point , then edit this access point, the alias can be anything (it is just a name), but the access point must be changed to the WLAN access point you are trying to connect to.
To find this access point code you must go to ...
Menu - settings - connectivity - WLAN - available wlans - then click edit on the WLAN you want to use. Look under 'Access point MAC', this should be a long list of numbers and letters separated by colons e.g. 1A:2B:3C:4D:5E:6E.
This works at home because you can save the WLAN and use the preferred access point, to make this work for 'hot spots' you will probably have to write down the access point code from the WLAN you want to use and create a new access point and change access points when you are using a different connection.
This works by saving specific access points to available WLAN locations.

There may be a few ways to go around this.
-Perhaps you may try opening the web browser > options > clear privacy data > all.
-If this does not help then go to the menu > tools > settings > connections > access points > scroll down to the router and delete the access point and try using the WLAN wiz to redefine the access point.

Nokia 5800 WiFi Connection and auto rotation probl...

can anyone tell if they have experienced this problem in their new 5800, the issue with my phone is that I cannot connect to any WIFi connection, it gives an error message and also the auto rotation function does not work. Only after giving it a really hard shake does it seems to respond otherwise it remains as it is. The phone also feels hot even though when not used.
Can any one help me, the phone is just 3 days old.

Thanks....now its sitting at nokia care with the promise that they want to change the mother board. Still waiting.....

Hey all, been searching through this forum, several other and the web..
But I cant find a solution that works for me..
I've tried both with and without proxy but it all comes down

Here are my settings;
Profile name: Home
Service profile: IETF / Nokia 3gpp
Default access point: WIFI WORLD

Use compression: No
Registration: Always On
Use security: no
Registrar server
Registrar server address: sip:192.168.1.10
Realm: 192.168.1.10 / asterisk / empty and 1235
User name: 1235 / n82 / [email protected] / [email protected]
Password: ********

It seems that it can connect, I mean find the server.. but it then fails.. as I get that fail message above..
So.. is this a N82 problem or Asterisk one?
For those who know, here is the sip.conf part for Asterisk;

and the extension file;
[internal]
exten => 1235,1,Dial(SIP/n82)
So, for me it seems that everything is just correct.. except the authentication, what do you guys think?

well I opened up the ports 10000-10100 and then it actually started to work..
but it only worked one way however; if I called with the N82 to my computer it was all fine, but if I called from the
computer I couldn't hear anything on the N82..
now however it doesnt matter if I call from the computer or the phone, I just cant hear anything on the N82..
I searched both the nokia page for the N82 and on google, but I couldnt find out which codecs it likes..
so it is just set to auto, or something, in asterisk..
I also have some various problems, recreatable..
My home computer 1 to my home computer 2, both on separate ips and not on the same network as the server..
Calling from either one to the other, it starts the call but when I accept the receiving computer just says "initiating.." while the calling think the call is all ok..
when I call friend 1 he can hear me all fine, but I cant hear him..
when I call friend 2 he cannot hear me and I cannot hear him..
friend 1 is not behind any firewall or anything that blocks communication..
friend 2 is behind the same kind of router as I am, but he also opened 10000-10100 if that could have done something, but no change..
it feels like I'm screwed on settings at the moment, is there any solution to all this?
is it possible to go back to a whole clean setup without reinstalling asterisk?
EDIT:
I put both computers on the same network, behind the router for the server and then this happens;
Computer to Computer the same, just tried to initiate, but nothing happens..
Phone to computer; sound two-ways, everything works!
Computer to phone; like before only computer hear, phone cant hear a thing..

Nokia C3 Wifi Icon disappear after connected

I am using C3 around two months but I never found any bugs. yesterday when I was trying to connect my wifi connection to the phone it was not working. The wifi connection is okay and the wifi I am using on laptop, it is running fine. The problem is when I connect the wifi connection; the icon of wifi at the upper side of screen appear and instantly disapear after one second. I tried to find the solution online but the problem I faced is something strange and I didn't find any relevant answer. Pelase help me to solve the problem.

I have the following problem:
1.- In my own home I've a Huawei Modem, The connection is perfect, but at my work I've a Linksys or Dlink Router the problem is that when I tried connect at my work the C3-00 is rebooted, I dunno what happend my cell is really new the software description is as follow:

Nokia c3 wifi problem

Well nokia c3 as good as its price but......
I have some critical issues with its wifi.
Whenever i try 2 connect it to WLAN of my college my phone shuts down and restarts on its own, And i should mention it that it has just been 10 days since i purchased it and have not even once been able to connect to a WLAN though gprs is doing fine...If anyone could help me fix the problem or even clarify it whether it is a software problem or a setting problem ...Even if you consider my phone to be defective your answers are wellcome

@zenuve: try to check if Your phone got the newest firmware, and if does (7.20) then contact with Nokia Care about it, may they can do something.

Nokia N900 wifi connection

I have purchased Nokia N900 from US and using in India with service provider Vodafone.
Q-1: I have done the service provider setup for GPRS and i see the symbol of GPRS but still uanble to connect with internet.
Q-2: I am trying to setup wifi network from my office (IBM) and followed below stesp to configure but unable to connect it.
Configure wifi network connection using WPA with EAP.
EAP type: PEAP
EAP method: EAP MSCHAPv2
3. Attempt to connect to network.
Q-3: Some time I see, Ad hoc wifi connection symbol but when i try to connect with internet, its fail.
As all of you know, Nokia N900 could be good smart phone provided i get connected with internet.
Could any one help me on the same

Q.1 Ans: I am assuming you have Vodafone live active on your number and you have settings for GPRS Now follow this:
Got to Setttings …Internetconnections and then chose the vodafone Live ….Press Edit on the Right
Do next twice you wil see Advance Int he check box Check USE proxy ....not connect again Vodafone works ........
Q.1 Ans: Check with your Office IT help desk.
Q.1 Ans: you just cannot connect to any wifi you need to have security password .....infact this could prove fatal if you connect to any malcious wifi it could be some virus be careful.....

Nokia X6 wifi problem(?)

Hello!I recentley bought a Nokia X6. Everything works just fine,except one thing.
Sometimes,when I am connecting to some (free) wifi spots,although connection is well established, the browser gives error message that it cant display the website(every one).

Hello giannisCRF before using a Wifi you have to configure the Wifi access point manually. Go to settings>connectivity>settings>destinations>options>New destination>then touch the newly created destination then>options>New access point>automatically check(No)>WLAN>WLAN name>infrastructure(public)>security mode(open)If its a free Wifi>it will be created then tap the Wifi access point then options then advanced settings in that put the numbers for ip, subnet mask. The back then proxy and port. Try and reply.
