Nokia C7 display

Hello Am a Nokia C7 user. During the month of September some error occurred in my phone's display. A small blue dot appeared on the lower end of the screen and it started to spread a little. So i took my device to the Nokia care and they said that they were not having the display and told me to come after one week. When i did so then also they gave the same reply. Then after nearly 4 weeks i got the display changed. And the display Am havin now is facing some problems. Whenever i see a black image there occurs some partition in the image. The image seems to be separated and each part appears in brown color. I have one image named marquee it was preloaded in my device when i use that image it appears to be brown. I have checked the image in other phones and in those phones the image is having no problem. What might be the problem? What to do?

hi guys my n8 has this issue too
iam not impressed by it and have contacted nokia on facebook , twitter , email and phone yet they dont seem the least bit intrested at the minute
i have even got a nokia tech from a nsc to report it to them via correct channels yet nokia dont seem to care about this
it happends when colours fade into each other or get lighter , main colours are white/grey/black and these turn to a purple/red colour just like in the pictures above
ive also had another n8 and it didnt have this problem , my girlfriend has a n8 too and is on the same product code etc and the screens are so different it is unreal
i thin nokia might be using two screens on the n8 too meet demand as amoled screens are in demand at the minute so maybe they have sourced another froma differnt amoled maker
i cant see any other reason for the difference in image quality between my girlfriends and my screen , same product code , same firmware , same theme and settings yet the results are so different its worrying
forget using the n8 to watch videos if you have one of these screens with a purple tint as the blacks/whites/greys will look purple and ruin the film etc
my video playing has gone from watching dvd quality to watch a dodgy pirate with pixelation and purple tints and banding
id like to see more users post up here so nokia can see there is a bit of a problem and start looking into it as at the minute they dont seem fussed
perhaps people havent noticed the purple tint but if you have seen one with a proper screen and then one with a puple tint you can easily spot the difference the screen quality is no where near as good as the ones without tints , coliurs are deeper richer and nicer to view on the screen wihout the tint
iam waiting for another n8 to turn up today as a replacement if it has the purple screen too i will be extremley gutted and a unhappy n8 user even though its my dream device itll feel tainted because of the screen

On Nokia C7 Display there is scale lines on it, It more visible on white background.

Even the replaced display have same scale lines on it.

Same on my C7. I noticed it when I buyed my C7 Dec.2010. Meanwhile becauso of the purple tint I received my money back. When I buy new C7, I'll drop here some info about it.
Now I'm waiting at Anne FW to be in new devices.

Nokia C7 Display Defect

Hi,
I have a Nokia C7-00 that was purchased SIM free and unbranded in Germany, with which I'm experiencing distinct colour banding / gradient problems. It is also common on Nokia N8 displays. I'll try to describe my problem:
The first tell tale sign of the issue seems to be a common one: A purplish tint on the top half of the screen saver clock (visible when the phone is keylocked and then the menu key is pressed).
As time has passed by since first noticing this problem- I have also noticed that videos and images that are predominantly dark are also having issues being displayed properly. The effect being similar to if the image was being shown on a screen with limited colours, for example, if you set your computer screen to display only 16bit colours. In areas of images that black is supposed to fade into lighter colours, the image is completely off.

I have attached pictures of my screen with the problem.
I have contacted Nokia care and they have no input other than re-installing my firmware (which is impossible to do anyway- as they seem to have provided me with inaccurate instructions- there is no way to re-install my firmware via Ovi Suite or the handset)
Any help?
I've since moved away from Germany and from what I understand my 2 year warranty is only valid in Europe...
Attachment 1 is supposed to be black to white squares in increasing gradient
Attachment 2 is supposed to be black into white, but on my display somehow a brown/purple tint is in between the black and white
Attachment 3 is the screensaver clock that is supposed to be black, but on my screen the top half is displayed with a purple hue

Nokia 5310 - Display freeze problem

Hi,
I got a new Nokia 5310 last week and its doing great and i like it a lot, except for the following problem..
Problem description:
I find the phone display freezed and become grey and stopped responding to any keys..
this happened first time (on day two) with low battery and then started observing it frequently now (once in two days), when the phone is left with screen saver..,
at this state, when a call is made to phone, caller can hear the phone is ringing, but the phone is still dead..,
the only way to correct this is, remove the battery and reboot the phone.,
Query:
before going to nokia care centre, will this be a firmware bug (based on reported problems) or hardware bug(specific to my handset)??

Nokia 3110 display contrast/brightness options

Can i change some of this parameters on 3110 or 3109?
If i can, so where i can find this option in phone menu for 3110, 3109 nokia, or some code to change.
My display have no contrast.

Nokia 6280 display issue!!! Pls help!!

I live in United States and i use nokia 6280 for almost 1 year, but recently my phone display turn black whenever I slide it up/down. and i can't make a call with black screen as my display, and i also think that this is a strange situation that i've never seem. So is there anyone in here have any suggestion or any advices for me to fix this problem? Thanks for your regard!!

well i tried to it already, like you said switch it off for 15 mins, but it still won't work. about the damaged cable i guess that might be a problem, but how come it damaged though. don't get how NOKIA works NOW!! though, if the cable damaged it should be black screen all the time rite? but mine sometimes it disappears sometimes it appears.Message Edited by janzz on 21-Jun-200702:49 PM

Nokia E52 display caller's name and contact pictur...

Can someone advise me on possible problem with my E52 - I am very pleased with most aspects of the phone but it is not showing the name of the caller or the contact picture when I receive a call (just the number).
Surely it is standard for every Nokia phone to show name of caller? I know S Ericsson phones show name and picture for both call and text. Nokias should at lease display the name?
Can anyone please advise on this?

Nokia E6 display blank freeze

Driving back home today I noticed that whilst my E6 connected to my bluetooth handsfree, it didnt change profile to car but remained on default. Usually it does as I set it in the accessories options. Anyway I heard a new sms arrive and soon after stopped at home and went to check. I tried unlocking the phone both with pressing the d pad and flicking the side slide, but the display remained blank. I tried the power button and again nothing. I eventually resorted to removing the battery and rebooting. Seemed ok. Not sure why it did this? Anyone else had similar?

Hello I purchased my nokia e6 on 8th september 2011 and since then the phone keep freezing up on me. I started using skype two days ago and the phone turns black and its frozen. And it restarts or i have to force restart it. Please help...is there a update for this problem?

Nokia 5230 display distorted!

After updating to the Nokia 5230 latest firmware version (V21.0.004), whenever the mobile receives a new SMS or call the display is showing up distorted (Snapshot included as attachment, take a look!). This is happening randomly may be every 4 out of 10 occasions. Not just when receiving the call or SMS but also when i activate the touchscreen by touchin it for performing any task. I have to either lock & unlock the touch pad to regain the display or wait till the mobile goes into standby after light time-out.
Is there any option for me to revert back to the recent old firmware version (V20.0.005)?
How to get rid of this? I already tried reinstalling the latest firmware again twice but to no avail. This is the first time such an issue surfaced in my mobile usage.

Hi, unfortunately it is not possible to roll back to earlier fw.
If you've tried to reinstall the fw, there isn't much more to do other than take it to a Nokia care point as this seems to be a fault only they can repair.
I've seen quite a few posts on this matter, and some of the users reporting such faults happened after changing their displays themselvs voiding their warranty, earlier (before updating). I'm not saying that is what you've done, but just to let you know.
The " funny" thing is that this thing seems to happen often while updating, so it could of course be software related.
If youre up to it, you could perform a soft reset to clear your phonememory and start out fresh, but it's unlikely that this will helps. If you choose to do so, you will have to back up whatever you need from your phone memory as this manouver wipes contacts, messages, apps installed on the phone memory etc.
If not, you will have to see a nokia care point, and you probably have to do it anyway!

my nokia c2 handset is displaying error message whenever i use it or kept idle.
it doesn't affect my calls but it displays me error message everytime.

If you have the latest phone sw on your phone, please reset factory settings.
Do not forget to backup before doing so.
Please go to your local Nokia support site for more information about sw updating.

Nokia 500 display light and texting problems with ...

After installing Belle I have some VERY annoying problems with my Nokia 500.
While texting it turns the display light up and down.
When I write fx a name and press # to use a big letter, it doesn't automatically go back to small letters after writing the first letter. I have to press # again.
I have never had this problem before Belle, with any phone.
Its really annoying and timeconsuming having to delete what I just wrote coz it has continued to write in big letters.
Also after Belle, when browsing the text with > and < it doesn't highligt a whole word, so i can change it. If for some reason I accidently delete the last letter in a word, I have to delete the whole word and write it again. Never had that problem before either.
Have I done something wrong to get these annoying problems, or do others also have these problems?
Is there a fix for Belle coming up?
And why on earth put out software with so many problems...? I wish I had never "upgraded" to Belle!!
Hope this is not to confusing, and that someone has a fix for this.

i believe there is an option in the Messaging options to actually turn off word prediction, so that it is off by default every time you start up the Messaging app. i also think that instead of navigating it with the > and <, you can actually tap the word on screen and it will highlight that word for you.
as for the display issue, not so sure. have you checked via Nokia Suite that you have the latest firmware installed for your device? if so, then try re-installing your current firmware thru Nokia Suite.
Symbian is in maintenance mode, therefore will no longer see any more major firmware updates, only perhaps the odd bug fix or two.

Nokia 5610 display problem

As my 5610 display is not working and it shows blank.First it displays inverted colors and now is not showing anything so please help me out in this matter

I received one msg from my friend and after that, display was sometime showing mirror image, sometime water image and sometime i didn't even came to know what image it was actually showing. I banged the phone twice and display totally gone. This is the worst phone i have ever used. It gets hanged so many times, when we go to delete anything it gets hanged. Once we switch off and then switch it on, it takes 45 mins to load all msgs,, images songs etc etc. can u imagine 45 mins, i can't use my cell for 45 mins after switching it on.
I am thinking of taking new phone, but now i really don't want to use nokia phones. After such a horrible experience.

What does Settings>Display>Cell info display do? Does this give you the option to see the caller ID when someone calls you on the main screen?

no this does not mean that it is a service that broadcasts any particular interest that u have caller id is set to the user use ie you can set your id to show or not same as anybody else can this feature is on all nokia handsets

i have a nokia e7 phone which was damaged at display component by nokia care. Before 10 days there is a problem of charging point so give my phone there and after that my phone is facing that hardware problem before that it was o.k. And now they said that your phone have other problems it cant be repaired. Please help me out sir my phone is under warrenty also.
