NOKIA C7 dual mode...

I have been using my Nokia C7 for a few months now only on GSM and generally I get 2 days from the battery, just lastly the GSM internet has been extremely slow so I’m thinking of switching to dual mode or 3g, my question is I know it uses more battery but how much more? Will I lose a days battery or a little like an hour etc? Thanks for your help

I personally prefer using dualmode, as it would switch back and forth when 3G signal is low. If 3G signal is low, it would be using 2G to conserve battery, as a weaker signal would make the phone use more battery. However using 3G would also use more battery than 2G alone.

Does Nokia 108 Dual Sim have Offline/Flight mode?
If, yes, where can I find it?
    Thanks for all !!

Yeah some allow phones in offline mode. Others only if the MP3 player comes on without the phone, some nothing at all. Check with the space waitresses when you are onboard. They will have the most up to date info. Oh one last thing, if the crew tell you that the captain says no it must be off, do it, they will have a nice man in a pretty uniform carrying an asp/mace/great big gun (Depending on what country you fly into) waiting for you if you refuse.
Is that an N95 in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?!?
Life's too important to take seriously.

  • Connection error in "Dual mode"

Yesterday, after 2 months of normal usage, my E61i, settled on “dual mode”, stopped to work.
On the screen it appears instead of “3G” the symbol of an antenna (GSM connection) without the name of the operator.
If I try to make a call it doesn’t work and it gives “connection error”. When someone calls me, it gives the message "phone is switched off".
If I set the phone on “GSM mode”, it works but of course in GSM and not in UMTS (3G), and I need to use 3G in order to speed up the internet connection.
My Italian operator is Wind and if I transfer this sim in another phone (Nokia 6151 that is a more simple UMTS phone) the problem is exactly the same.
I tried to use a different sim Wind, and also in this case I have the same problem on both the phones.
With a sim of Vodafone all is ok.
Probably it is mainly a network problem, but I cant understand why the phone doesn’t switch automatically on GSM if UMTS signal is not present. The phone is not a “provider locked phone”, it is an original “Nokia” and it has been updated to firmware version 2.0633.65.01. The 3G signal was very good.
I’ve found a lot of posts concerning this problem, but the only suggestion is to change the network mode from "Dual Mode" to "GSM", and then back to "Dual Mode".
Unfortunately the above solution doesn’t work and consequently I’m starting a new topic hoping to receive some new suggestion in order to solve this problem.
    Thank you and best regards

RodWard: I have the same problem as x1cwm562
My videos work when previewed in CP and when previewed in web browser, but not when published in the LMS. I have just updated from CP 5.5 to CP 7 AND switched to a new LMS ;-) Naturally problems occur...
My old LMS took scorm 1.2 and the new one scorm 2004. Therefore I have merely opened my CP 5.5. project in CP 7- re-publised it to scorm 2004 and published it to our new LMS. Everything works but not any of the videos. Instead of the video playing the text "Connection error" appears. I have tried both IE and Chrome. The videos were added by Video- Insert video and are matched to the slides length. The videos are in f4v format and worked fine when published in CP 5.5. and the old LMS.
    1. Is there anything I need to do when re-publishing a CP 5.5. file in CP 7?
    2. I've seen many questions about similair issues at the forum concerning going from CP 5.5. to 6. In those cases peolpe recommended to inistall a patch from Adobe, and that seem to have solved peoples issues- would the same work for me?
    3. Might there be some adjustment needed in the new LMS?
Hope you can give me som input!

  • Dual mode in N80-1

I'm currently using N80-1. Just got it weeks ago. Lately my area is catered with UMTS network coverage already. However it doesnt able to automatically switch to UMTS network at my home. I'm using Dual Mode in the network settings. As i drive my car to further area, the UMTS is automatically being switched and noticed the 3G icon displayed. Does anybody knows how the Nokia phone select its network in Dual Mode? Which one will be prioritize ? UMTS or GSM.
If i force the Dual Mode to just UMTS mode, i still able to get UMTS signal inside my house around 3/4 signalling bars. Upstair Full signal bars.
I hope the Dual Mode will function both as UMTS and GSM.
    Anybody can help?

    That depends on your network.
Basically, Nokia develop firmware and send it to the networks who are then supposed to customise it - add branding, turn off certain features etc - and send it back to Nokia who then make it available via NSU.
Not all networks are very good at doing their bit, though. For example, I'm on Vodafone in the UK and the latest version available to me is 4.0623 which is very old: the last per-IE version.
On the upside, it's relatively stable. Judging by the posts on here, 4.0707 has lots of problems. I don't recall defaulting to GSM instead of 3G being one of them, but I guess that's possible.

Your battery is dead. Swap it for a new one. Also, use a sharp toothpick to clean the charger hole. Don't use metal needles and do it while the battery is out.

  • Nokia N82 Network Mode

Why do I could not make outgoing calls and receiving incoming calls when my network mode is in dual mode while last two months its still okay? When I try to make an outgoing call it will show connection error and while receiving incoming calls the caller will be forwarded to my voicemail. It has to be setted on UMTS or GSM mode in order for the phone to work properly. How to fix this? Please help. Thanks.
If you think what I've just post is useful, do give me a kudos! xD

This evidently has nothing to do with call diverts, so I have no idea where the above user got that idea. The phone registers to the network if forced to GSM or UMTS mode but not if set to "automatic".
This is often a software problem. Start by switching the phone off and removing the battery for 10 minutes. Then reassemble and try.
If that didn't work then you'll have to try a reset. Back up your phone's contents but not the phone's settings to the memory card or using PC/OVI Suite beforehand because this is going to erase everything.
Dial *#7370# and enter your security code when prompted (the default on all Nokia phones is 12345 until you change it).
    Restore the backup you made.
If the problem persists then you'll need to contact your operator and explain the problem to them. It could be a problem with your SIM card, in which case they can perform an over-the-air update or even replace it if necessary.

  • N73 v4.0726.2.0.1 Only has "Dual Mode"?

I have upgraded my N73 to v4.0.726.2.0.1 yesterday. It works well except this trouble: can only choose Dual Mode in Network Mode Settings. My old version has three modes: Dual Mode, UMTS and GSM. I heard that Dual Mode takes more battery that single UMTS or GSM mode. Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance.

  • New AEBS (dual mode) extending with AEBS - N Issues

I just bought the new AEBS dual mode router. When I try to extend the network with a AEBS-N the attached computer always seem to to have DNS issues and cannot connect to websites. The problem appears to be very intermittent with network drops a few times and hour. As soon as I disconnect the router extending the dual band everything seems to be fine.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks-

I think I found the problem. I've solved it, and now it's working really rock solid.
And yes, the latest version of the 802.11n base stations (the dual band II) has indeed an enhanced radio subsystem.
I was advertising a 802.11n network on 2.4 GHz as well, and I think that the remote base station, which doesn't have a choice to select 2.2 or 5 GHz, and relies on finding the main base station, was somewhat confused.
After setting it to 802.11n (5 GHz) and 802.11b/g (2.4 GHz) it's working like a charm.
I seemed to have some local interference, not sure about it, and I've changed to the highest channel on 5 GHz (48). As I said, working like a charm now. Rock solid and a clear improvement over the radio in the previous versions.

  • Urgent help with Nokia 208 Dual SIM

    Hi all,
I have a new Nokia 208 Dual SIM type RM-949 (English & Chinees).
I wish to install Hebrew on it but I can't find an appropriate firmware.
Does anyone knows if there's such version around the net?
Can I install the RM-948 instead? Will it support the Dual SIM function?
Is there an RM-956 version with Hebrew and if yes, can it be installed on this model (RM-949)???
    Please help.............. I'm stuck........
    Thanks,
    Shai.

    Hi,
I've checked today with our local Nokia care center and it seems like there's no such firmware that support this model that includes Hebrew language.
Only for single SIM you my find such version.
    Now what?
Am I stuck with this phone?
    Thanks,
    Shai.
The Dual-SIM version was specifically made for specific regions mainly for developing markets (esp in Asia-Pacific). Hence, language packs available are limited or made available only to those countries.

  • Adobe flash  player  for (nokia x dual sim )mobile

adobe flash  player  for (nokia x dual sim )mobile

    It's Android®...
There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both availabe in the GooglePlay store. These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.

Hi. I've recently been given a Nokia 6680 which I've had unlocked and started using. I've found that when I plug my charger in the phone indicates it is charging but once I pull the charger out (after various periods of time) it shows up as low battery. I have tried 2 different chargers and 2 different batteries. I am currently using an old nokia phone to charge up a battery to put in the 6680 every day. Help? Am I doing something wrong??
Prior to it being unlocked it charged up no problem.
If you have a new phone you need to keep it on charge for 16 hours. Once the battery is fully charged the charge indicator stops moving which would tell you that the battery is full.

  • Nokia 225 Dual Sim firmware 20.00.11 greek languag...

    I have a Nokia 225 Dual Sim (Model RM-1011 Code 059V5S6)
    I had firmware 10.01.11
I upgraded with Lumia Software Recovery Tool to 20.00.11 and greek language disappeared.
Is it possible to downgrade? Because the phone is used by my 74 years old dad and english is not an option for him.

The Nokia feature phones never had the ability to downgrade. Are you really certain that the new firmware that got installed is the same as that was previous? Because they usually don't miss out on languages as such.
Does the about section display the same product code (059V5S6) as printed on the label under the battery?

  • How do I know if Satellite A100-216 has a dual mode pad?

    Hi,
I bought my laptop this week, and in the manual it says that some models in this series have got dual mode pads rather than just a mouse pad. How do I know if my model has it?
Do I have to activate something, or would it just work automatically if it was on my laptop?

If your touchpad doesn't look like this:

you don't have dual mode pad.

  • Security code - Nokia 206 Dual SIM

    Hello,
I'm having trouble with my Nokia 206 Dual SIM mobile.
My kid changed the security code, and now she can't remember what it is.  I've searched the manual, support sections and forums, but most of the solutions I can find suggest taking the phone to a Nokia Care Centre.  Unfortunately, I have no idea where to find one of these near Brisbane.
Another suggested option is to send it by post to Nokia Care Direct, but this seems ridiculously unnecessary for what should be a simple passcode reset, not to mention expensive.
I've already taken it to a Telstra store, a Virgin store and a mobile repair store, but all were left scratching their heads.
In the case of a forgotten iPhone passcode it's easy enough to restore the device, so I'm sure that I must just be missing something glaringly obvious.  I don't mind losing my data, but I can't even figure out how to perform a factory reset.
Any help to regain control of my phone will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Raj

    Hi Dveterant_1,
Welcome to the Microsoft Mobile Community.
Are you trying to reset the phone, but you can't as it's asking for a security code? Or are you unable to access your Asha 206 as it's asking for a security code? In case you've missed @singhnsk's post, the only way to have it fix is to reinstall (flash) its software in Care Points. See: FAQ - I have forgotten the security code for my Asha.
Note: After flashing, all the personal data (contacts, calendar data, etc.) in the phone may be deleted. BTW, the link is intended for the United Arab Emirates. You can visit your local support page for future reference. See below link:
