Nokia c7 nfc chip advantage?

What are applications of nokia c7 NFC chip?
Will symbian anna pr 2.0 update enable NFC in nokia c7 for ALL COUNTRIES?

Technically, it should, a mobile user is supposed to use a phone in mobility and mobility is not restricted to a country! with fast pace of technology, newer technologies are constantly arriving to nearly all countries.

  • How to install Hebrew onto Nokia 6131 NFC RM 216

Can anyone help with how one can have hebrew put onto the Nokia 6131 NFC - RM 216.

As an end-user you cannot do this yourself.
You have to take the phone into a Nokia Care Point. If they can do it at all, there may be a charge for the service since your phone was evidently not intended for sale in Israel and, as such, the absence of Hebrew support is not a fault.

  • Does iPhone 4 have unused NFC chip?

NFC (Near-field-communication) World reported that the iPhone 4 may already have an unused NFC chip inside, which isn't yet activated pending a future software upgrade.
    Anyone heard anything about it?.

    True, they do.
NFC sounds cool, but it won't work unless you have NFC-enabled sensors which is currently not adopted in the mainstream world (except in parts of Asia), and in some tech (including in North America). Reports mention, that by 2014, NFC could be adopted more world-wide. We will have to wait and see. Another question is the safety associated with such a tech, with regards to all your info being stored on one single device.
Anyways, Android has come out with an NFC-chip on their new Nexus phone, but I don't think its a necessity that the iPhone have it (even if the iPhone 4 does or does not). It's not something that we "need", and even if it's there, chances are the majority won't be using it until it is adopted in the mainstream. Just like Facetime, only those who have an iPhone 4 can use the feature, and so forth, and so on.

  • US Supplier for Nokia 6131 NFC Developer's Edition

Is there a source within the United States to purchase the Developer's version of the 6131 NFC phone? This variant has had it's Secure Element (SE) unlocked using a special MIDlet for ease of development. There is a source in Europe, but I would rather buy from a local distributor.
If not, can anyone from Nokia tell me where I can obtain the unlocking MIDlet, so that I can buy the phone from NokiaUSA?
    Thanks,

You would be better asking that question here:

  • Nokia 6131 NFC not supported by iSync2.4?

... although the compatibility list says that 2.4 Nokia 6131 is supported.
    Can anybody help?

That's a good point, and I should have taken the time to point that out.
It's not particularly important that Nokia has chosen to offer free plug-ins for a limited number of their mobile handsets not presently supported by iSync. The really important thing here is that a manufacturer has actually chosen to support the technology at all!
I do support a vibrant developer community, and think that Nova Media and others who have taken the time to create plug-ins and, who continue to support them, deserve to be compensated for their efforts. It worth noting that Nova Media was out front with support for Nokia mobile handsets about a year before Nokia itself chose to offer support. And, as Jan points out, they continue to support units that Nokia itself does not.

  • Nokia belle N8 no resizeable widgets and NFC ?

on review of Belle from nokia early ,it was told that n8 belle will have NFC and resizeable widgets, but after i update to belle, i cant find any of those.
so when will nokia give them out ?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Lichkjk,
Just to clarify the OS itself supports NFC but this is dependant on the device itself having a NFC chip and the N8 doesn't have a NFC chip.
There will be no re-sizable widgets in Belle. You can only choose different form factors like there are different Clock widgets, both in different Size's as in Function. This is what we mean by re-sizable widgets.
    Hope this helps.

  • C7-00 and NFC: When will the chip be enabled?

Is there any new word on when the update for the C7-00 will be available that enables the NFC chip?
I've purchased a C7-00 especially to migrate an application over to it that currently works on the 6212, but that phone is no longer manufactured.

NearFieldCommunicationsWorld.com have just release an article about taking one of these phones apart. It definately has the chip in it, and they say "In order to enable this functionality, Nokia only needs to provide firmware that comes with the appropriate software stack"
I really wish Nokia would give mus some kind of heads up when this is going to be available, the GPS functionality combined with the NFC is in high demand in the market I work. We are currently working with the Sagem Cosy phone, which is not as good by a long shot, but considerably cheaper.
Any news on this yet Nokia?

  • Lumia 920 NFC needed a reboot?

    Hello,
I was trying to use tap to share to send pictures, contacts, etc. My wife & I both have an AT&T Lumia 920. We had the phones for a few days before I got around to trying this. No matter how I held the phones, I couldn't get it to work. I removed the covers we had purchased for our phones. It still wouldn't work. I turned NFC off & back on. Still the receiving phone did nothing when I attempted to share from the source phone (and this is the behavior I'm describing when I said "it didn't work" above).
Finally I powered off both phones & then powered them on, and then it worked perfectly. That was a relief to know that the phones' NFC chips do indeed work.
However, I would like to know why this even happened. I don't know whether it was a software glitch or indicative of faulty hardware. I have not yet tried to use NFC again for probably 5 days since then, so I cannot confirm whether it's been working okay since. However, it seems to me that it is rather important for NFC to work well given the tap to pay & tap to share & tap to pair functionality that is being marketed for these phones (not to mention the Galaxy S3 NFC advertizing that is really capitalizing on NFC [which most people I talk to really seem impressed with]). The phones' NFC implementation needs to be solid & not buggy.
    So a few questions:
Is anyone else having this problem?
Should I start using NFC frequently to try to track whether the issue returns (this may drain my battery faster as I have NFC turned off to save battery since I'm not currently really using it, except incidentally).
Is this a hardware problem or a software problem?
Should I swap my phone out at AT&T? (I've only had it for 8 days so far)
Can Nokia confirm issues/bugs with the NFC implementation that would cause something like this, and if so, is a fix in the works, and if so, is there an ETA?
Thank you for taking the time to review my issue. I appreciate your feedback.
    Sincerely,

    Hi there,
I just recieved my Lumia 920 in the mail today and I was having trouble getting the NFC to work with the little test card they send with the phone. After a few trial and errors, I realized that the screen has to be illuminated. You don't have to unlock the screen, per se, you just have to touch the lock button to activate the screen and then NFC works immediately.
Now, you may have already known this, but being that I couldn't find any literature perscribing this, I thought sharing my findinds may be helpful to you or another reader.
    Cheers!

  • Using smart card/nfc tag for authentication on Windows 8 devices NOT in a domain

Title says it all. We have Sony RC-S380 readers and Acer Iconia W510 tablets with builtin Broadcom NFC chips. We can read tags and configure them for the usual proximity stuff (URIs, mail, etc.) but we are looking for authentication purposes, however without

While trying, the allow change pops up, yes and then nothing happens.
I have unpacked the package with 7zip and started the setup, it is checking the system and its all ok and it ends with a warning there was a script fault.
I have tried to find the Intel NFC Software Kit, but cant find.

    >I have a PSUL1E and it is offering the NFC Driver for download at Toshiba Pages
The Satellite U920T-100 (PSUL1E-00500NGR released in Germany) as well as the U920T-117 (PSUL1E-02900JEN) belongs to the same series PSUL1E and therefore you can find the NFC driver in the driver list. But this does not mean that all notebooks which belongs to PSUL1E are equipped with NFC chip.

No, both notebook models U920T-100 and U920T-117 support the same Intel WLan card (Intel bgn Jackson Peak1 chip) but only U920T-117 supports NFC
In case your Sat U920T-100 would be equipped with NFC, you should find the device in device managerbut I guess you cant

  • NFC payments (Timme Me app) on PlayBook 10.3.1 not working as well as Z30 10.3.1

I've been using my Passport as my daily driver since launch, but one thing I missed about it was that NFC payments with the Timme Me app have been problematic / spotty: many times it fails completely and I have to resort to using the "barcode" like a commoner (i.e. "iphone user" :-P)
I reverted to my Z30 since it got the 10.3.1 update and as it was before I switched, the NFC payment works first time, every time.
Is there something about NFC on 10.3.1 on the Passport in particular that is somehow "different" than NFC on the Z30?
NFC seems to work for other use cases like browsing on my Z30 and holding the device back to back with my Passport opens the associated web page on my Passport, so I think the NFC chip itself is working... but I can't figure out why it's so problematic  on my Passport, and really do want this to work. It is very frustrating to be on the express train to the future of mobile payments and get stared at because I'm holding up the line with the equivalent of being on that express train playing my music too loud. It's just rude!
Is there a solution for this, either possible or in the works... or is it my hardware?

I may be wrong, but I believe NFC payment is enabled in the SIM card, while other NFC functions are direct between devices.  Since you're using two different SIMs it may be that the SIM in your passport is defective. If you have a Nano-Micro carrier, you could insert your Passport SIM in the Z10 and see. Or buy a new SIM (usually ~$5) and try that.
