Nokia c7 updated(symbian belle)

hi;
i have been using nokia c7 it was the best phone for me n recently when i updated it i was suprised by its look its amazing but other side my phone got sucks !!! i cant use my favorite applications with that fun like i use to do (nimbuz) evrytime it keeps closing automatically even other apps im sickk of this !! i tried getting my older version or to fix it it again installing the same smbian belle!! HOW CAN I GET MY PREVIOUS VERSION OR CAN FIX THIS LATEST VERSION PLEASE EXPLAIN ME !!!

Please try the following actions and in between them check if the notification light works:
Make a backup with Nokia Suite and reinstall the phone software. The process is the same as when updating with Nokia Suite, but at the end select "Reinstall".
Type in *#7780# followed by lock code (default is 12345). This is soft reset, no data lost. The settings will be restored to factory state.
If it still does not work, type in *#7370#. This is hard reset, phone memory will be wiped. Restore back up from Nokia Suite.
Hope the notification light starts to work!

Great to see you are a happy user. I have just bought two Nokia 500 phones (another for my wife), upgraded to Belle, and both have the same infuriating problems:
- system crashes half a dozen times a day without any warning (during calls, browsing, text messaging)
- if I change the language for text messages, I cannot type anything (SMS) any more
- when phone goes to sleep, it often won't wake up and I need to remove the battery (after doing this 4-5 times a day one starts to get very frustrated).
I am very disappointed and cannot recommend the phone to anyone. First Nokia that I feel this way with.

@Kevil and all Nokia official employees..plz take a look at this..what m goin to post is not officially issued by nokia..but there are post on internet stating that "Symbian Anna OS" on Nokia 5800 xpressMusic...there are tutorial available on sites..i tried it and see the diffrence..its just awsome...why don't nokia officially "DEVELOPE SUCH FIRWARE BY THERE OWN"????????/ MANY THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH 5800..THEN Y U GUYS ARE NOT PROVIDING???? Skype video calls on Nokia E7-00 Symbian Belle

Please advise if video calling will be available in the future on Symbian Belle phones.
Belle is so much faster and works fine for Mobile video phone calls.
My friends overseas wish to skype video call me when I am out and about.

Video call is not available on Skype for Nokia Belle (I really don’t know why and also would like to know why it is not working).
You can download Skype either by launching Nokia Store (Search for Skype) OR from http://www.skype.com/m.

Nokia E7.00 Symbian Belle release date?

I was wondering then will Symbian Belle™ be available for dowloading in to Nokia E 7.00?
I have been seeing posts on Nokia official site like: "Belle available for new phones N8, E7..etc" but when I connect it tu Nokia Suite it says " software is up to date".
Can someone tell me when will it be available for dowload.
p.s-personaly I be more glad to get Windows Mobile OS than "new tweaked symbian".

check availability of Nokia belle at the belle availability page of Nokia Europe's website for your product code and region. If you want windows phone os, then you'll have to buy a new phone with windows phone. You cannot get it in wot existing phone. :-)

N8 Update Symbian Belle FP1

Is update for Belle FP1 available now for N8? I heard somewhere that it will be released in June 2012. There's already a video about N8 having the FP1 update. I tried updating thru Nokia Suite but its taking a veryy long time just to check for update, i think its past 1 hr already.
is there an alternative way to upgrade? we have no wifi here so i cant update thru my N8.
Updating thru Nokia suite is becoming a pain. i dont know why its taking so effin long. its not downloading yet its just on checking status.

You are correct in that the last major update was back in February and Nokia have confirmed that there will be further updates to Belle devices, but nobody knows when or how many.
It's likely that Belle was the last major update the first gen phones will get, and any further updates are likely to be bug fixes, general improvements and such like.

Will Nokia keep update Symbian Maps in the future?

I have a E6 and a 701 purchased this year (new, from the store) and I am wonder if I will keep using Nokia Maps in the future with the updates that will become.
What if Microsoft will stop updating Symbian Maps once they bought Nokia???

For sure we can define what "lifetime" means! Lifetime of my device, clearly! Or... lifetime of my cat. Or of my dog... Or lifetime of my gym shoes.
Now seriously, this kind of "lifetime"=dishonest trick... Probably lifetime of my device (obliviously not of my own life) AS LONG NOKIA COMPANY EXIST! But if Nokia will sell the soul of Finland with little devil like Stephen Elop and become Microsoft, it's clear that "lifetime" will become the lifetime of a butterfly...
In my opinion, in short time Nokia will be just dust, history and melancholy... If you love Symbian models, keep them with care and never let them go.
Windows Phone is a joke. A bad one.
Elop has succesfuly killed Nokia.

Nokia E6 updated to Belle - Download error

hi i hav nokia e6 my phone was running good but unfortunately when i connected it for an update of software through my p.c.suite it has started with problems. Like before it had symbian as operting syatem now it has upgraded to nokia belle and i m unable to download any of the softwares through my nokia store '' its always showing download error and unable to download software from ovi store plz help me out ''.

I Updated my Nokia N8-00 to Nokia Belle and the videos I take are 30fps. Before updating it was at 25fps. When you were running Symbian Anna did you install the Camera update from betalabs? I personally did not install the Camera Update and waited for Nokia Belle and my videos are now at 30fps. Try reinstalling the Nokia Belle update again I hope it will help you people.

N8 doesn't update to Symbian Belle via Nokia Suit...

i cannot update my Nokia N8 to Symbian Belle. Nokia Suite says: Software cannot be installed. Your device ist at he moment not compatible with the available software. Please try later. When ist Symbian Belle available for me. product code: 059D5C3. Have Nokia Suite reinstalled but nothing happend. Who can help?

1st, check if there is room on your device for such a update (on your device not your memory card)
And like it said try again later, which means wait a day

Welcome to Nokia Discussion Board!
If you encounter any problems after having updated your Nokia phone to Symbian Belle, such as playing YouTube videos, please reinstall the software via Nokia Suite by following the steps below:
1) If you haven’t used Nokia Suite to update your phone, please download it from here.
2) Open the program, connect your device using a USB cable
3) Save your data such as contacts, messages and photos: go to Tools > Backup
4) Then go to Tools > Software updates. If the version “Symbian Belle” has already been installed on your device, the page will display the following sentence “Device software version installed. If you are having problems with it, you can reinstall it.” Please select “reinstall it”.
Make sure you complete all three stages of the update. Also make sure that your phone’s battery is well charged and that the USB cable stays plugged in until the update is complete.
6) To transfer your files back on your phone go to Tools > Restore
Try this procedure a couple of times and it should fix the problems.

Should i get N8 Symbian Belle or other phones?

Hi i'm planning to buy Nokia N8.
Is Symbian Belle update is available for N8?
Should i wait for it or should i buy it shortly or should i buy any other phone?
Samsung galaxy s2 and many other phones look attractive, but i know about Nokia quality and reliabilty.

If your serious about Nokia and Symbian Belle, I wouldn't bother with the N8. Hardware wise it's showing it's age now. Have a look at the newer handsets being released with Belle pre-installed.

Symbian Belle Release Rumour

According to various reports, the much awaited Symbian Belle update will not be available untill early 2012. This comes as a surprise as there are already leaked versions for N8 and C7, with Belle Shipped with the newer symbian smartphones.
So all those people who have S^3 phones like me, will have to wait it out.

I'm sorry, here i was thinking we were all buying cool phones like the N8 and the E7 (in my case), because we wanted a cool phone to make phone calls on, that happened to be able to run some cool apps, and play music, receive emails etc.
I was obviously so mistaken, it never occured to me that you all buy your cool phone JUST so that you can update the firmware. How silly of me.
Whoever believes you have a right to an update, think again, you dont. Nokia kindly give us updates because they want to, not because someone demands one, not because they have to, but because they want to. Yes there are financial reasons for them to do it, like brand loyalty etc but no law says they have to.
Other phones quite often get 1 update a year, the makers support the phone for a few years and then they stop. no more updates. Nokia already support their phones longer than most other manufacturers, they have more models than any other manufacturer. But even so one day there will come a time when your phone will no longer be eligible for updates. but I guess some of you will complain then as well.
I've said this before if your phone doesnt work for some reason take it to Nokia to have fixed, dont expect that an update will fix your issue. I read threads before Anna was released saying how certain peoples phone werent working and they demanded Anna "because that would fix the problem" These same people are now complaining saying they demand Belle to be released because they need it to fix their problems. You know i bet it doesnt.
Belle is just a firmware, it will look better, perhaps, it may run faster, perhaps, it may even do something that Anna cant do. But honestly its not gone change anything for you in your life. Demanding Belle to be released is not going to make Nokia release it any faster, trying to compare it to something that is not an official release is not even reasonable, not to mention that its not even legal in many countries under local communications laws to use such firmware on networks, that it hasnt been approved on.
Some of you have said that updates took to long to be released and that it was over 12 months before you got an update for your N8. This may be the case in your country, but this also may not have been Nokia fault, If a carrier doesnt approve an update then the carrier is at fault, Nokia has to obey the laws of that country no matter what.
Belle will be released when it is ready and not before. There are very good reasons why Nokia do not give dates for releases. One of the most important reasons is Carriers, Nokia has no idea of whether or not a carrier will approve a release or even how long they will take to give the go ahead on a release.
The next of course is getting the firmware ready for all the different handset that it is design for. Some carriers wont allow certain functions , so they have to be removed or blocked. This can then case a flow on effect to some other piece of firmware which is totally unintended, meaning that it no longer works properly, so then they have to redeign it.
These are only just a couple of things that can go wrong, and is part of a normal day in the world of code writing. Be glad that Nokia want to continue support for your phones. But also understand that the decision to allow a piece of firmware to be released is not Nokia's alone.
Whether its released this year or early next, it really is not going to change you much. So dont waste your time whinging and complaining about the fact that it hasnt been released and start looking forward to the day that it will be released. Trust me you will all feel better.
I can say 1 thing here whther or not this paulip person works for Nokia or not. I can afford to buy a new phone every year outright, E7 cost for than that here is Australia and I have bought 2 of them this year outright. when the E90 was released I paid over $1400 AUD for it. But even though these phones are costing more than many other phones here is OZ, I still wouldnt buy a different brand of phone, not at this point in time anyway, and certainly not for such a silly reason as an update.
I also find it a bit hard to accept that Belle has only just left alpha, mainly due to what we have seen to date. If he had said it had left Beta and is an RC then I agree. Unfortunately I didnt get to read his comments, only what has been commented on here.

i'm using c6-01 and i checked for software updates. symbian belle appears. should i update it? i've heard some problems when they updated from anna to belle. any advice??
