  • Found a dead spider in my charging port (iphone 4) this morning. Now phone wont charge at all... What can I do? It's now all totally cleared of lint and legs :/

This morning my phone wouldnt charge, I tried three different charging cables. They are lighting up to show they are working, but the phone does not charge or show a symbol or connect to the computer.
So i cleaned out the lint from inside the charging port. and inside all the chargers, some of them were new off the shelf so would not be the problem.
I found a dead spider inside the port. Have blown into it, thoroughly cleaned with a needle any debris and fluff and spider legs etc...
It still wont charge. I have ten percent battery... it's off for now. It is not covered for a chat with apple at all, unless i pay $40 which is crazy expensive.
Any ideas of what to do to save this phone? Obviously i cant back it up because it wont plug in to anything.
For now it is not on charge, just trying to let it dry out.
Probably i squashed this spider when plugging it in. therefore there could be spider guts all ruining the inside? I don't know how the ports are made. Up until not charging
there were no issues at all.

    Hi lisellemono1,
I'm sorry to hear you are having charging issues with your iPhone; I know how frustrating that can be. Based on your description and the possibility that there may be other debris or residue still in the charging port, you may need to have your iPhone evaluated or serviced. My iphone randomly turned off out of nowhere. I was getting dressed, my phone was working one minute then literally the next it syopped now it wont charge i cant turn it on however the phone is on cause i called it and it rang. What to do? help please. I tried putting it in DFU mode but my lock button doesnt work and my phone wont charge so i cant connect to itunes

There is no reason to put it in DFU mode, a reset should work.  Although, without a working power button it is not possible to reset the device.
Sounds like it is time to replace the damaged device.

It sounds like the LifeProof case may have leaked.  Did you pay for the Waterproof protection?  If so, you can file a claim with lifeproof, pay the deductable, and get a replacement.
If you didn't purchase the Waterproof guarantee, if you have Applecare Plus, $79.00 will get you a replacement.  If you don't have AppleCare Plus, then this is a $269.00 replacement lesson.

Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.

Check Settings>General>Cellular and make sure Cellular Data is set to On.  If it is, try putting it in Airplane mode for 15 seconds, then turn Airplane mode off again.  If it persists, give you carrier a call to confirm that it's properly activated with them and that your data plan is properly provisioned.

PLEASEE HELP I Drop My Ipod Alot And Now It Wont Charge It Wont Show My Notifications Even Doe They Are On My Home Button Wont Work Just A few Times But Thats It.and when on my vine i doesnt let me hear my vines idk why

You broke it, you will need to get it serviced or replaced. The drop voided your warranty so you would have to do an out-of-warranty replacement with Apple.

    Resetting the Logic Board
Resetting the logic board can resolve many system problems. Whenever you have a
unit that fails to power up, you should follow this procedure
    before replacing any modules.
    1 Unplug the computer.
2 Press the Power On button on the front of the unit.
3 Open the side access panel.
4 Remove the battery from the logic board.
5 Wait at least 10 minutes before replacing the battery.
6 Make sure the battery is installed in the correct +/-
    direction.
7 Reassemble the computer and test the unit.

  • Ive just bought an ipad, and uodated to ios7..... now it wont charge..... any ideas?

Ive just bought an ipad 2, updated to IOS7, now it wont charge. Anyone have any suggestions?

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. My phone wont charge unless it's powered down.

Charging of the phone normally turns it on. If you are having trouble like that, I suggest you contact the seller and see about a refund. Something wrong with that phone.
