Nokia Carrying Case CP-235 for the N95 8GB

I want to say, that this case is not good at all, and i'm gonna tell you why! I just bought an N95 8Gb, and I thought, that I should protect my phone, because it's a cheaper modell, and I woul'd like to keep it like new, for a longer time... So I went to the Nokia store, and I bought a case (orginal nokia designed for this model only) like this. it fits perfectly, and it is functionally but after only 2 days whwn I toked out the phone from this case, I observed, that the case scrached my phone, on the front! I became verry upset, because i scretched my phone because of a stupid case, because I was naive, and I trusted Nokia products, and I thought, that if Nokia has a product to protect phones, than it's tested to accomplish his destination, and not to do harm!!!

Oh, I am sorry to hear that. But I can not understand why that case can scrach your nokia n95 mobile.what 's material of that case was made? crystal,Silicon ,Silicone or leather .
Note: I know a website which carry more nokia n95 accessories, including nokia N95 case / cover, but the price is very cheap. the link is below ,hope that helps.

  • Lack of firmware updates for the N95 8GB

Does anyone know what the latest firmware is for the N95 8GB?  I've unlocked my phone from Vodafone but the updater still says the latest version is 20.0.016 but there are numerous posts talking about version 30?

As stated in his first post he has unlocked his phone. Also there is no point even phoning Vodafone. I spent around 2 months speaking to them trying to get an update for my N96 which never came. I was then also told they were under no obligation to do it either. Only option for me was to get the vodafone branding removed, so glad I did as he phone is much quicker now.

  • Can anyone recommend a decent case for the N95?

    Hiya,
I always keep my phones in cases, to protect the screens, and I bought one with my N95, but it only covers part of the screen.
Without wanting to advertise anyone - I've used Krusell cases for years now, but their case for the N95 seems awkward, because you seem to have to open a flap somehow to operate it... this obviously sounds like a nightmare.

  • Why no ASR (Automatic Screen Rotation) for the N95...

I saw that Nokia implemented the ASR for the upcoming version of the N95 8GB, v.20.0.016
Why wasn't it implemented in v.21.0.016 of
    the N95-1 (RM-159) ?
Will it be implemented in the final version? (i hope)

Did nokia "borrow" samir's idea and use it in the N82?
All I can say is that I prefer the built-in ASR.
Well I don't think any of us like not having automatic screen rotation. Although I'd rather if there was an option to change the way the screen rotates. For example, the screen splashes like water or something that's more interesting than a boring "blink".
That's right people, I'm back. Where have I been? I have been getting a life, away from this electric madness.

Does the ipad2 case covers work with the regular ipad?

If you mean the Apple smart cover for the iPad 2, no.
Any case specifically designed for the iPad 2 will not work with the original iPad.

i dont have a solution, but i have a path for you to follow. this is not a simple fix, but rather a place to look for ways to fix it. it is similar in nature to modifying an iSync plugin in order to make iSync work (back before nokia did this for you)
    1. right-click (or ctrl-click) the Nokia Multimedia Transfer.app package (the application icon itself)
    2. choose 'Show Contents'
    3. Contents->Resources->Profiles
    4. open up the file n95.profile in 'Property List Editor'
note: i think this came with the developer tools? i'm sure you can find it somewhere, it's an apple app
in my version of this file i see Root->profiles->0->profileName = n95_v1
in your shoes i'd try modifying this file. you likely can create an copy of Root->profiles->0 and call it Root->profiles->1
then just change the version to n95_v2 or v3 or whatever.
you may have to change more in this file, or more files. i dont have an n95_v2 or v3 to play with.
do this and succeed, and you'll have made quite a few ppl happy, including yourself
    good luck and happy hacking!
    N95-1 ---> N97-NAM ---> N900 ---> E7-00 + N900 (I use them both)
(N95 was pretty good, N97 had potential but utterly failed to deliver, N900 is absurdly good. Those of you wondering, "should I try N900/Maemo/MeeGo"? The answer is a resounding YES)

  • American owner of the n95 8gb...

If you live in the U.S. and own a n95 8gb could you please reply to this or message me because I have some questions I would like to ask you. Thanks.

yeah that would be a good idea huh?... Alright I was wondering how the internet compared to the iphone?.. I'm asking b/c I've used an iphone's internet and think it is quite slow. I know the n95-2 will be on an EDGE network like the iphone, but is it as slow? And also, I've heard that the n95 8gb isn't covered under warranty by nokia if it is used in the U.S. b/c it isn't a U.S. model. I've emailed nokia asking about this and they keep asking me to enter and IMEI number (or something like that). If you have a n95 8gb and live in the U.S. could you just clear these things up for me?

  • Make the N95 8GB screen look like a WM phone. Poss...

    Hi all!
Just curious (and not trying to start a WM vs. Symbian flame-war) whether it is possible to make the screen of the N95 8GB look like, for example, the HTC Touch Cruise: http://www.letsgomobile.org/images/news/htc/htc-touch-cruise.jpg
Is it possible to make changes like this to the layout of the N95 8GB screen?

  • Thanks for the N95 Update Nokia!!

Its working great so far. Just wanted to thank you for an amazing update.
This phone is finally what it always was. It was never limited by the hardware.
Again, thanks for not leaving us in the dust. I'm very happy with my purchase now.
    Nick

Ok i've had a quick go on this firmware myself, but not enough time to comment on the updated battery life.
-The first comment I will make is that I can truly multi task. I had music player open, that was scanning through 4 gb of data ( i have an 8gb card) while editing settings, as well as an instance of WEB open. Phone handled it all perfect and never even slowed down.
-Music player has some new functions and layout, including new icons when you don't have album art
-firmware comes with Ngage demos already built in just like the 8gb
-menus are NOTICABLY faster. Phone operates much quicker than previously overall
-Welcome menu and n-gage menu are fairly graphic intensive - this phone feels like a multimedia device now
-new nokia maps is built in to the firmware as well, couple of slick update features as well as i notice it picks up GPS signal immediately
    -integrated search function
-Camera is VERY fast. shows a PROCESSING line after capture. Opens faster, takes quick pictures.
This is like its a new phone.Message Edited by frenchmeat on 26-Nov-200701:15 PM

  • What cases are good for the new macbook pro retina display 15"

What folio cases are out there that don't damage the new macbook pro retina display 15" I keep looking but can't find any, they all seem to have serious negative reviews

be specific,  hard case or CARRY CASE?
hard cases are not recommended, trap in dust and junk and trap heat
A great carry case, and best made for the money are those made by INCASE as seen in Apple stores and amazon.com

  • Better Battery for the N95?

    Hello everyone
This is my first post on the support site and I'm disappointed to see that I'm not alone in experiencing problems with the N95 and specifically the shockingly poor battery life. My last Nokia was an N70 and I don't agree with other people who had said that poor battery life is a feature of the N series phones as I could go almost 3 weeks between charges. I find that even with only moderate use the battery in my N95 goes from a full charge to empty within 5 days (approximately only 70 hours) and I don't see the point in having a phone with all of these features if you have to charge it every few days. I'm not using the GPS function, WLAN scanning is switched off as is Bluetooth and I'm only sending a few text messages a day and making a couple of calls yet everytime that I look at the display the battery has gone down another notch. Looking in the Vodafone catalogue the standby time is quoted at up to 260 hours but I would love someone from Nokia to demonstrate how they managed to arrive at this figure.
I love the features of the phone (I've not had any other problems so far!)but I feel that Nokia have released the N95 with a very poor battery (like the old Ipods) and the poor consumer is left to try muddle along trying to save battery life.
Does anyone know if Nokia are planning to release an updated battery that might actually last a decent amount of time between charges?

    1) I charged the battery full early in the morning at 6. I recieved just one call at 9 and my battery was finished at 2:30. Just for 8 hours standby time?
Sounds like you had everything running: 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, screen at max brightness etc. That would affect battery life.
Also, there are many people who believe that battery life can be optimised by conditioning the battery when you first get it: run the battery all the way down and charge over night for the first 3 or 4 cycles.

    waqarbashir wrote:
    2) I charged it fully, used GPS for 30 mins and battery was finsihed after 3 hours? What was that?
Running GPS is really going to take it out of the battery: the GPS receiver is working, the processor is working, the screen's on - basically the battery is getting hammered.
I get a similar affect running SatNav with my N80 and that uses an external GPS, ie: one that's not powered by the phone's battery.

    3) I fully charged the battery connected to WIFI and did chat on MSN for around 1 hour and battery was finished exactly after 3.5 hours.
Again, the phone was working pretty hard for an hour there - you should think of that as at least the equivalent of having made a 1 hour call.

Nokia builtup so great device and with so much poor battery?
Size of the device: a higher capacity battery would be bigger so the phone would have to be bigger.

    waqarbashir wrote:
We will be getting battery replacement? or nokia will be releasing some new battery in future for N95?
Almost certainly not: most of the previous N-series phones have had the same issues and none of their batteries have been upgraded.

Anyone if having same problem with battery please post comments here or its just with my device?
There are plenty of threads about this, so I guess it's quite common - though I notice a lot of people reporting that battery life is actually better than they had with the N95's predecessor, the N80.

  • Multiple ipad Carrying case? Looking for some form of a case where elementary students can transport 20 ipads safely up or down staircases

I am a teacher and my building just purchased a set of 25 ipad 2s.  I am looking for some form of a carrying case where a teacher or students can take 20-25 ipads from the iPad storage cart and carry it to the classroom.  Some classrooms are on the second floor so something that would hold them safely would be great. Thanks for the help!!
