WHY WHY WHY WHY!
Your out and-about, in your car, and "IF" your wonderful new Nokia N95 dies!!!! due to the battery not being man-enough for the job!
What do you do next?
ANSWER:-
You get out your nice new "DC-4 Nokia Mobile Charger" which is recommended by all mobile phone shops and is listed in various places on most of the nokia websites as being the COMPATIBLE charger for the N95, AND LOW AND BEHOLD "NOKIA" HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! It won't charge the phone battery. There is not enough current from the charger to get the phone back on.
If the phone has power then the charger does charge the phone, but at a VERY low rate.
How on earth can one phone have SOOOOOOOOOOO many problems?
I know pretty much EVERY nokia phone has loads of bugs when it released on to us, "the poor unwitting public", but in comparison, the problems on all the other phones are nothing.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone at Nokia respond to this, as your adoring public would like to hear what you have to say, as I know I am not the only person that has this problem.

Nokia Charging Stand NFC does not work on 920

I just received my Nokia Charging Stand DT-910 to go with my ATT Nokia 920.
1) I ordered the black stand. The stand and proprietary cord are black, but that huge AC charger is actually white. I can't believe that they didn't match the color on such an expensive accessory.
2) The actual NFC functionality does not work for me on the 920. Yes, when I tap the 920 to the base of the stand, I correctly get the NFC popup, and when I accept it takes me to what is obviously the Nokia software. The screen is titled "Charging Stand", and it starts on the Set Up page. It shows a diagram of the charging stand. The problem is that this app hangs. The progress dots on the top of the screen never stop moving. And the list where I am supposed to choose the application to open stays greyed out and never responds. It just continues hung like this forever, or on one occasion the phone rebooted itself.
Is there a fix for this? The software hang is making my stand useless in terms of it's NFC functionality....

You can actually get to more support options from that link, like here, http://www.nokia.com/us-en/support/contact/ which offers chat and phone numbers. Not sure what could happen in this case though, as there just seems to be some issues in the NFC implementation. Seems it varies a bit between devices, but overall has some issues. I would guess the number of folks with a wireless charge capability, that also know about this forum is probably small, but I'm sure the issue will gain some visibility as more folks give it a try. As I said I got it past the streaming dots and selected an app to launch, but now I have the interminably slow app launch. The same app that springs up instantaneously from the start or program menu, takes 5-10 minutes to launch when initiated via the NFC tap. I've just turned this off for now, as I expect some software update at some point. I have done some other NFC stuff with marginal success. Tapping the charging base to start an app is not a make or break feature for me. If it is for you, contact Nokia directly, rather than through this user forum.

N95-1 I'm on my 3rd Original Nokia Charger be warned not everything third party is usless and the wire is thicker! 3rd party batteries often suck. and Nokia chargers are NOT guarunteed either, just had to order another original Battery and docking station charger thingy from amazon.co.uk helps to read reviews before purchasing.

I got my phone from cex.co.uk and they only gaurunteed the charger for 1 Month, and said they must have the phone back as well to test it for a few days, so i just got another original one from global city links in town as i realy needed it and got a reciept and when it went wrong again i went back and they said we dont gauruntee our chargers.. i said under the Consumer Rights Act 1979 blah blah..he did say bring it back cos the place was packed with customers haha.. i ended up getting an original fast charger from amazon and the wire is far better like the virtualy unbreakable sennhieser wires on my headphones that are gaurunteed for 2years standard but thats for another forum .

I have two types of NOKIA chargers,.............
One of them I found genuine charger of NOKIA by charging my cell phone turn by turn...... The charger which charged my cell within the reasonable time that one I consider the Genuine Charger of NOKIA and the other charger which having also NOKIA logo printed on it take double of time to charge my cell.
This is the way that I consider to find the genuine or fake NOKIA charger.

Nokia 206 - Send message to nokia - charged £1

Got new Nokia 206, inserted sim powered up got a message saying need to send message to Nokia and may be charged (no idea what is in the message), checked PAYG balance and I have been charged £1 for the privelige = not happy.
Is this a subsidy to nokia? in order to use the phone we need you to send a premium rate SMS?
Can anyone elaborate what this message was (not saved in sent messages) and why Nokia are sending to premium rate number?

Well its just an activation message which helps Nokia in activating the warranty of your phone and other services such as Nokia Life.
But that's optional, it also tells you that premium sms rates will apply. So its your mistake if you didn't read it properly and continued.
Make sure you don't do that the next time. Skip it if it asks your permission to send an sms. Anyways, it won't bother you anymore

Nokia 6700 - Charge from Micro USB?

The 6700 manual confirms that the phone can be charged from both microUSB and the standard mini charge but what it doesn't say is that the only way to charge using the microUSB port is to connect the phone to a PC or Laptop. If you plug the USB cable into any other type of USB charge device, including USB charge adapters (such as the iPhone charger) or a standard car 12v socket > 5v USB adapter the phone issues an error confirming charge method is not accepted.
I thought the whole point of phone companies agreeing to the new microUSB standard was to permit charging using any USB port? It seems Nokia have limited the charge capabilities of this phone and it is a right pain.
Come on Nokia, please fix this with the next firmware update !!

This is odd, because Nokia lists their AC-10 microUSB mains charger as compatible. I had thought the device rejects any current above the trickle charge from a standard PC USB cord, but if it works with the Nokia microUSB charger, it should accept higher currents (1200mAH). In which case the Nokia charger must be "talking" to the phone over USB to give it approval.
On the other hand, the manual doesn't mention support for USB mains chargers at all, so maybe including the AC-10 on the peripherals list is a goof.
Hopefully this doesn't extend to Nokia's other USB-charging phones, I have plenty of generic USB chargers around.

Replacement charger for Nokia 6210 ??

I have been a very happy user of Nokia 6210 for the last few years.
A few days ago the charger supplied with the phone (ACP-9E) breathed its last. Unfortunately, the same charger is no longer available with Nokia dealers here in India. The Nokia 6210 user manual which I downloaded from the Nokia web site indicates ACP 8E as being compatible while the compatibility chart with Nokia dealers here indicates ACP-7E - but, neither ACP-8E or ACP-7E are available here.
Some Nokia dealers advised me to use the standard Nokia charger ACP-12 which has diferent specifications though. I do not wish to damage my phone by using a wrong charger.
Could anyone tell me if there is any other charger of Nokia which would work satisfactorily with 6210 ?
Would deeply appreciate a quick response - since i've been without a phone for the last 2 days !!

ACP12 wont "harm" your 6210, the problem may be that its not recognized by the 6210 and reports "not charging" when you plug it in. Try it if you can before you buy!

JBL PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for Nokia

My JBL PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for Nokia no longer charges my Lumia 920. It charges fine on my Nokia charging plate so that rules out a problem with the phone itself. All other functions of the speaker work fine - it just will no longer charge my Lumia 920. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks, having checked the Apple store, they offer a usb mains charger with a 5W output, compatible with all Apple products. Watts/Volts...I am lost here. I guess I should not attempt to couple my Ipod Classic to the Nokia DC 5V charger...would you agree?

Does anyone know if the Nokia Travel Charger AC-4X or the Nokia Travel Charger AC-12X are compatible with this phone. The chargers have different plugs:
AC-4X -> 2mm
AC-12X -> 3.5mm
You have Nokia 6288, so you need AC-4X (2mm plug).
Both chargers would handle input voltages from 100-240V.

Sometimes the compatibility thing may vary. Even if the nokia website says that is not compatible with that device, they can be sure compatible each other.
