Nokia phone app update messed up my music

Hello everybody.
I wonder if anyone could assist me with this issue. Today I was playing around with my Lumia 520 which I purchased yesterday, and btw nice phone for a budget phone.. Anyways I had a ton of music on my SD card and it was nicely tagged and working as I wanted it to, but when I just installed some store updates including the Nokia update app it decided to mess up most of my music on my SD card which they now say Unknown album when I check via WMP, and they wont come up with my mobile phone.
Does anyone know if I can resolve this without removing the albums/tracks of my mobile and having to re-sync?

Nokia nor Windows won't admit this, but this is a common problem. I've lost count the amount of times I've had to re-sync my music and hard reset my phone. Due to this I'm selling my phone and getting an Android one instead of this sub-standard Lumia 620. Despite direct questions and explanations of why it happens to both Nokia and Windows (from myself and hundreds of others), the issue is being ignored. The 'Amber' update only has 'cosmetic' updates to the music player, so all in all, if you want a music phone and have a lumia - sell it and go back to Android.

Has anyone else not received notification of updates? I haven't received one store notification for an app update in a week, including all the recently updated Nokia system apps.
Is this a known issue?

Note we suspect one of the updates is causing the remove from charger sound and also possible causing the phone to freeze for some users as well. So user beware.

Did not recieve the social app update on nokia n8

Hello, I read that the social app update has been updated to versione 1.2 including linking contacts to facebook.
It's a US phone
I'm stuck on 1.1.264
I have 011.012 software version 2010-09-18.
Custom Version 011.012.269.03 2010-09-23.
Language set 011.012.31.01
Product code 059D0V2.
Any advice on how to upgrade to 1.2? I tried through ovi suite or through the phone and it says everything is up to date!

After reading your post I launched the social app and it said it was automatically updated to version 1.2.157.
If yours doesn't auto update then you could try manually updating by launching social, goto options and press Update service.
By the way I'm in England so maybe the update hasn't reached the states yet.

Just downloaded Nokia N8 Software Update Apps Update 1.0 via Programs -->Programs update but not sure what improvements it will get.
Not yet seen any obvious improvements

Nokia N8: SW Update app or Ovi Suite won't detect ...

I've seen about the brand new camera mega update and I want to get it on my Nokia N8. But neither the SW update app on my N8 nor Nokia Ovi Suite detect this update. I tried but they both say "all apps up to date" / "No updates available."
Please help me with this

The camera update is not detected by ovi suite or sw. update on the phone just because it is not an update. It is a beta app that if you want you can install by downloading it by yourself from here:
http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/camera-update

App updated and syncing fine with ipad; updated from PC, but not for iphone. Updated on PC, but not on iphone

iPhone 5 app updated fine from PC, but will not sync with iPhone.
Steps: Fire iTunes from PC, then connect iPhone, did app updates in iTunes, but did not sync with iPhone (the # updates stays the same next to "APP Store").
It worked fine for iPad App updates. I tried connect, disconnect, did not work. I also read some posted comments, but still cannot resolve the problem. Please help. Thanks!

No nokia music App in Asha 501

Purchased new asha 501 and discovered that there is no nokia music app to download songs in the phone.It was there at all the previous asha phone released.will it be supported in later software updates????

When I updated my Nokia C3-00's firmware from version 4.60 to 7.20, the responsiveness of the Ovi apps (Facebook and Twitter) is much better compare before, BUT, when I am opening the Nokia Email app, is freezes into "Loading Mail" status for almost a minute... Any problems with my update?
I properly connected this to my PC and it updated without any interruption... And some 3rd party apps is not working after updating to this version (I guess those few 3rd party apps doesnt know there is incremental update you provided for this model except Snaptu which is working now)
Any address to this problem?

hi. i also face the same thing on my nokia c3.Third party software not available and mail app not working.But unlike other replies i am going to give you a solution.
Nokia new firmvare version i.e 7.2 currently block 3rd party software downloads.It only supports applications from ovi store.There is an installation process going on in ovi when we download an app which make it usable.so if you want to use a third party app all you hav to do is download it to pc then just copy that app to your memmory card or to phone memory which will work
Next about the mail app.
I am a user from india and using the connection idea.when i updated my phone software i also lost my email app.
But yesterday when i requested for new internet setting i found in its items supported list, settings for nokia visual radio,nokia communities,nokia mail etc i set it as my configuration and used mail.At that time it was working.So you all want a propper internet settings containing settings for nokia mail to make mail app to work.Or you can configure it manually like you do on office outlook.

I use nokia asha 205 (with the updated software V:4.51).
I marked several downloaded applications in the applications folder, in phone.
When I deleted them,other built-in apps(YOUTUBE,MAIL,NOKIA LIFE,NEWS&OFFERS and the Xpress Browser), were also DELETED.
PLEASE SEND FOR ME LINKS,THROUGH WHICH I CAN RECOVER MY PHONE BECAUSE IT IS VERY LOYAL NOW.

Since these apps are part of the system, you have to reinstall your software to get them back. You can do this on your PC using Nokia Suite. To download Nokia Suite, see this link: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/nokia-suite/. After installing the Nokia Suite on your PC, follow these instructions:
1. Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable.
2. Launch Nokia Suite and wait until it detects your phone.
3. On the Nokia Suite, go to Tools > Software updates.
4. If your phone has an available software update, install it. However, if there's none, you can reinstall the phone's software by clicking "Reinstall it".

Corrupted C2-02 communities app

the communities app in my c2-02 has got corrupted.. icon is still present in the apps n games folder... but... doesn't work n cannot be deleted either(says system file cannot deleted).... tried updating it to the latest firmware (6.96) but still the problem continues... is there a way to fix this issue.. any place where i can download the latest version of this app...??

i have a nokia asha 206 duel sim phone. Few days ago i have updated my nokia mail app. After updation it is not not opening and respondin as 'conflictio app show items'. Any one please tell me the solution. Please tell me how to re-update this mail mail app.

BTW, it's best to check if your phone is running the latest software. Go to Settings > Phone > Device updates to check for it.

N8 Social app updated to 1.5.215 questions

My N8 Belle just get Social app updated to 1.5.215, it works better, good job Nokia!
This update brings over most features in original facebook mobile app which is quite nice, now able to view notification as well.
One feature missing is this app still unable to view who like the fb post even the post showing there is someone like it. Anyone find out how to do it?
And where is the contact image that link from facebook store at? Contacts in my N8 linked to facebook profile & having friends' photo that auto link to contacts after first time click refresh at Social app home screen. But where is the contact image store in the phone after get profile photo from facebook?

Photos from the album acts very slow to download. No check-in button, and when you update all activity, it says update unsuccessful. Don't know which one, either Facebook or Twitter account has a problem. Probably, there is a bug.

I am having trouble with app updates on my iOS 5 iPhone never getting beyond the "waiting" state. I have tried signing out/in of my account, rebooting and removing/re-installing the apps. This started shortly after going to iOS 5 but I am not certain if that is related. All updates that I try now are stuck in "waiting". I also tried removing the apps and then installing via iTunes desktop sync with no improvement. The only thing that I have not tried so far is a restore to a prior iPhone backup. I have not been able to find anything to indciate what the updates on waiting on. There is plenty of space on the iPhone (16gb available). Any suggestions on what to try next?

First thing I would recommend is to check your downloads queue to make sure there is not an interrupted download per the following Knowledge Base article:

If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
2. For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
3. Enter your account name and password if prompted.
4. Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, you can download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC and then sync it to your iOS device. You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.
For Apps, you can also try tapping on the application icon to resume the download, as outline in this featured discussion:

Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

App updates wrong on Mac but right on iPhone

Anyone else having issues with the latest version of iTunes (9.1.1) and App updates? I've got a 3G phone and I have apps purchased from two different accounts. Logged into either account, iTunes tells me that I have 2 updates available, but no updates show up when I go to the link in either account. My phone, however, seems to have it together and tells me I have two and shows them to me.

The same thing is happening to me. I've not changed any settings on iTunes or my iPhone that I'm aware of. iTunes does not find app updates, yet the phone itself does. The phone is a 16GB 3G (not 3GS), about 15 months old. Has worked perfectly until now, and I suspect it's not the phone that's the issue.
I also have my August 2006 MBP authorised to use iTunes. This has never been an issue in the past, having 2 computers authorised on iTunes. I sync my phone mainly with the i7.
I'm mainly puzzled why iTunes suddenly stopped finding updates, it used to get them automatically as soon as I opened it. I just want to figure out why!
