Nokia Connectivity Analyzer tool

Nokia Betalabs has released experimental Qt based application for Symbian phones called Nokia Connectivity Analyzer.
This can be really useful and powerful tool when trying solve WLAN or IP connectivity related problems, like e.g.  "invalid server name" or "no gateway reply" error situations often discussed also on this forum.
Naturally this application will not goin to magically solve all various WLAN / IP connectivity related problems people might be experiencing with their phones but it can provide more detailed view on what aspects of the connection are working and what parts when attempting to use certain troublesome connection.
Some of the additional information made available by this tool might be enough to guide more technically aware folks towards proper solutions and it can help also less advanced users define their problem in more specific manner, when they are e.g. asking for help/support to their specific WLAN / IP connectivity related problem.
Application might also be interesting to more technically advanced folks who are interested in getting more detailed understanding of the WLAN and IP connectivity functionality of the phone, even if there is no need to "diagnose" any specific problem.
Here's again link to Nokia Connectivity Analyzer on Betalabs.  Remember to sign in with our OVI account to be able to download the application and be active providing feedback to Connectivity Analyzer developers.

You've to set up e-mail in your device or register to Nokia Messaging with a PC.

  • Heads up: The Nokia Software Recovery Tool is bust...

Nokia Software Recovery Tool won't load
Anyone else having problems with Nokia Software Recovery Tool?
I've heard all the generic cookie-cutter responses "Try a different OS" "Try a different cable"... the problem is not with our OS or cables, but rather the update checking phase. It always returns the issue "Could not check application update". Apparently this just started recently as there were users able to use this software as recently as Wednesday.
Got ready to wipe two phones for selling purposes. This software was necessary because I didn't want to sell them while they were on the dev preview, and the typical reset doesn't take a Windows Phone off dev preview... I have mostly been met with this piece of work all throughout random times of the day.
Won't work for anything, and it also does not allow us to skip the update so there's no winning here. That update really should be optional simply for the sake of avoiding crippling instances like this. If the update is broken, we should at least be able to use what's there... as it is all I can do is open this software and close it.
...just bringing awareness to Nokia's home turf so that it will (hopefully) have a speedy resolution.

  • Nokia Connectivity Cable driver problem (Nokia 311...

I have an unlocked Nokia 3110 Classic with 2 GB MicroSD Nokia MU-37 memory card. On my PC operating system is Windows XP Service Pack 3. For connection with PC I use an original Nokia DKE-2 USB 2.0 data cable. My problem is when I install any version (from 6.5 to the latest 7.0) of Nokia PC Suite with Nokia Connectivity Cable driver or separatly this driver first and then Nokia PC Suite I got a problem under Device Manager with two devices that have yellow exclamation (saying: The drivers for this device are not installed.(Code 28).To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver). They are under Modems: Nokia 3110 Classic USB modem, and under Ports (COM & LPT): Unknown device. This unknown device and also Nokia 3110 Classic USB modem (with yellow !) is present when I connect my phone and PC with USB cable and when I choose Standard Nokia mode. I tried to solve this problem on many ways (unsuccesful) following NOKIA instalation instructions and troubleshooter. When I try to install (or reinstall) a driver for this two problematic devices with Hardware Update Wizard choosing Windows Update or any other way (automatic - recommended or another) at the end I got this message: 1. Windows can't install modem with two answers: YES or NO, if I click YES, there is a new message: A service installation section in this INF is invalid. If I click NO at the first message the window of Hardware Update Wizard is just closed with no other messages !
So please if anyone here knows (or had this problem before and solve it) how to solve this problem, help me, because I am desperate.
I'll be grateful for any help !

In this attachments are pictures (screenshots) of my problems (in .bmp format): screenshot of Device Manager on my PC, Unknown device in Device Manager,Nokia 3110 Classic USB Modem in Device Manager and Windows XP Professional SP3.
You'll see that I use on my Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 some Vista themes. So, don't think that this is some "fake Service Pack 3", this is the real Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (last and official, not release candidate) downloaded from Microsoft Web site, but I use some Vista Customization Desktop Tools or something like that, I don't know exactly the name of this program, but that program install Vista themes that I like.
P.S. This attachments are pictures in .bmp format but I added a .txt extension because this forum only except files with .log, .txt, .bat, and .xml extensions, so if you are going to save and open it on your PC please remove .txt extension. If not, just click on it.

  • ERROR 14614 on Front End when testing with Remote Connectivity Analyzer

    Hello forum
Does the Lync Remote Connectivity Analyzer not support 128 encryption?
Reason im asking is the following:
When I test my Lync edge server. I get the following error on the RCA result page:  RegisterException.
After this error on the RCA, the event 14614 is logged on my Standard Edition Front end server.
    INFO:
User authentication with NTLM protocol failed with error SEC_E_UNSUPPORTED_FUNCTION. This indicates a potential mismatch between security policy settings on the client and server computers.
Cause: This error can occur if the settings in "Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients" policy on the client computer are not the same as the settings in the "Network security: Minimum
session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers" policy on this server.  By default, the "Require 128-bit encryption" setting is disabled for computers running Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003,
Windows 2000 Server, or Windows XP. For computers running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, this setting enabled by default.
    Resolution:
Ensure that the "Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients" policy settings on the computers from which users log on are the same as "Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based
(including secure RPC) servers" policy settings on this server.
All of our Lync servers are running on Windows 2012 R2. So why this error from the RCA?

Please check your settings on the client and on the server.
I know, this is a old blog info, but it discribed the problem.

    http://blog.ucomsgeek.com/2011/01/lync-2010-ntlm-client-authentication.html
    regards Holger Technical Specialist UC
Thanks for the answer, but in this case the "Client" is the Remote Connectivity Analyzer. So my question was, why is it not working with that? Does the RCA not support 128 bit?

  • The older version of Nokia Connectivity Cable Driv...

Trying to install the actual version (even Beta 3.1) of Ovi Suite fails with the error message "The older version of Nokia Connectivity Cable driver cannot be removed" (Error 1714)!
Im running a Win 7(64bit) Pro system and used to have PC Suite 7 installed.
PC Suite 7 was uninstalled before I attempted to install the new Ovi Suite. As it failed with the error message above, I called the Nokia hotline, deinstalled all existing Nokia software and tried to run PC-Suite Cleaner 7.1.1. Regretfully, PC Suite cleaner hangs up immediately.
Scanning my computer for Nokia entries on advise from the hotline, all Nokia files were deleted and the registry was scanned and cleaned from Nokia entries as well.
Obviously some remains of the cable driver are hidden in the system somewhere.
Could anybody please help ? I need to synchronize my X6 on a regular basis.
    Thanks !

Can't you see 'Nokia Connectivity Cable drivers' in the Windows Control Panel ?

  • Problem with uninstalling Nokia Connectivity Solut...

    winXP, SP2, 6630, pcsuite 6.8.22
I wanted to reinstall my PCSuite due to transfer freezeing while using dku2 and Nokia Connectivity Solution faild to uninstall. Cleaner cant manage with that. in Add/Remove programs while highlighting Nokia Connectivity Solution there are no options like Remove or CHange, the info only. I can install PCSuite (installation freezes for few minuts) but all the possible errors occure when i'm trying to use it. Once again cleaner, registering ole.dll seems not to change anythingat all.

MMList empty is an error that a few people seem to be getting and is already well documented on here.
My best advice would be to refer to this thread and try the solution there that seems to have worked for at least some people.

  • Nokia Connectivity Manager - no connections listed

Operating System: MS Windows 7 (x64) Home Premium
    Mobile Phone:        Nokia 5230
Connection type:   USB Cable with Nokia PC Suite 7.1.60
Problem with the Nokia Connectivity Manager - no connections are listed and the reinstall error goes away after running repair for the Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver.  Have tried the
    PC Suite Cleaner
    CC Cleaner
many PC Suite reinstallations after disabling anti-virus
On some installations, I would get an error "Service cannot be started" but when I cancel and restart the installation it goes straight through - I always end up with a blank window in the Connection Manager.  Looked for some other issues found in older forums addressing older versions, nothing has worked yet.  More help, please.

Please try the steps provided below to assist you in this regard.
    - Go to Add/Remove programs.
    - Uninstall the following.
    1. PC Suite
    2. PC Connectivity solution
    3. Nokia Connecting Cable driver
    Then go to device manager.
    - Ports.
    - Remove all the Nokia related ports from there. There will be one with Nokia E51
Go to C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia PC Suite 7 Remove the complete folder.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Installations Delete all the subfolders under Installations folder.
Run the PC suite cleaner now.
    - Restart computer.
    - Download and install pc suite from the web www.nokia.com/pcsuite
NOTE: Sometimes the problem with the cd installation might occur because the dll files in the cd will not match the ones required for the component to work.
If you still face issues in installation, then go ro run-regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nokia\PCSuite delete the complete PC suite folder.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PCSuite Delete this as well.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nokia\PCSuite Delete this as well.
NOTE: Please ensure that you take a back up of the registry before performing the above steps.

  • Nokia Connectivity Driver 1.00.139 Will Not Uninst...

I have tried anything and I am at my wits end. I have had so many nokia phones now and have just purchased the N73. The problem is I am still unable to re-install Nokia PC Suite. The previous phones I had were 6680 and 6260 both using the DKU-2 Cable. They were both connecting fine until one day it decided to re-install and look for the cable drivers after connecting the cable. It ended, saying it could not find the drivers (not that i had erased them or anything). I uninstalled PC Suite several times, the program has gone from add/programs but the driver still remains. In the Program files folder the following files remain: PC Suite Backup-Containing 104 files Connectivity Cable Driver Folder - Containing file nmwcd.inf (setup information). I have also tried to re-install the dku-2 driver to remove it but get the following error message: "Installation was unable to start the uninstallation of the previous version of Nokia connectivity cable driver". I also get that message but Saying PC Suite when trying to upload PC Suite 6.8. I have no idea what the previous version of pc suite I installed as i still have so many saved exe files on my computer. But I am currently using Windows XP SP2 on an AMD Athlon. The last cable used is DKU-2 and the driver remaining on my computer is 1.00.139. How can I manually remove all traces of any nokia software? I don't know what else to do, and if it doesn't get sorted I'm gonna have to send my phone back as my new phone will be useless! Please Please Please Help? :-(

You obviously deleted the files before uninstall. Just reinstall PCSuite. Use a program called Revo Uninstaller to perform a clean uninstall and clean up the registry mess after with the same prog.

  • Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver repaired but still...

Hey there, I had moved messages stored in the phone to PC via Nokia Suite before, however I got a nokia connectivity problem so nokia suite cannot detect my phone/search it via bluetooth now.  I tried to fix it by using the method of repairing ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’ but it doesn't work.  Everything went smoothly but still nokia suite cannot detect anything.  So I may need to reinstall the whole nokia suite but the main concern is that if I reinstall my nokia suite, the SMSs stored in the Nokia suite will lose is it?  So may i know what I can do?
    Phone: Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
Version of Nokia Suite: 3.8.48 (should be the latest)
    Computer: Windows 7
    Thanks.

Thanks however, the problem is that Nokia Suite cannot detect my phone so how can it copy the text to the clipborad?

uninstall any old programs like nokia pc suite, and any associated drivers from the Add/Remove programs list within Windows XP. make sure you do a thorough registry clean and junk file clean using appropriate software then try again. this time it should work, also make sure your phone is fully charged and that it is connected in PC suite mode.
P.s. if it is connected in PC suite mode, this usually means that you should install nokia pc suite first so that the device is recognised as being in pc suite mode, then you can install Ovi suit additionally after that.
If you found this or someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to their post!

  • The old version of NOKIA Connectivity Cable Driver...

Hi can anybody help me with this??? I had 2 years ago older Nokia phone, and older version of PC Suite installed on my PC. I sold the phone and "probably" not correctly uninstalled the PC Suite software. I bought NOKIA 6300 now. But when I am installing Nokia PC Suite 6.85.14...it is saying = "The older version of Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" cannot be removed", and it stops installation.
WHAT SHOULD I DO? There is nothing in Add/Remove software, I cannot find anything in registers....
    PLEASE HELP ME.
    THANK YOU A LOT.

    Hi jasrad
You perhaps need to go to microsoft.com and download Windows Installer Cleanip Utility "msicuu2.exe"
Go to Start > Programs > Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
When you run this it looks a bit like the add/remove program window. Now select "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and "PC Connectivity Solution" programs.
Now go back to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and try and remove "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and the "PC Connectivity Solution" programs. They should now uninstall.
    Reboot your PC.

    Piyush,
You should first create a new portan System object that you setup so it points to your ABAP server.
    See here for details: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ec/0fe43d19734b5ae10000000a11405a/frameset.htm
Then when done with that you create a new iView based on the WebDynpro template. The wizzard for this type will ask you if you want this iView to be for WD ABAP or WD JAVA.
    See here for details: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/1d/e4a34273f60b31e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
