  • Nokia N8 water damage?

I have recently sent phone off to nokia as it lost power and would not come back on . To have it returned saying it is due to water damage. I have been told by salesman at carphone wharehouse that any use of phone in damp or wet conditions can cause this even when im in a hot climate and then going into air conditioned room can cause it to sweat having not been told that i can only use my phone when it is dry and not too humid when i purchased it and seeing all the other problems people seem to be having with their n8s. Do nokia not think that this phone is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE as stated in consumer law and should be fixing problem and replacing peoples phones.

  • NOKIA E72 water damage?!

    Hi,
Some drops of rain water fell on my Nokia E72 today. As soon as I got back home..I wiped my phone clean..opened the back panel and wiped the battery and I blew-dry d entire fone too .
All functions seem to be ok except the headset jack which is placed at d top..it DOES recognize d headset n play music but won't detect when I detach the headphones. So to u se loud speaker again,I have to restart my phone.
    2. USB port also seems affected,it got me connected to laptop and is acting very well as modem but won't charge.
For some time the speaker wasn't working properly either..d sound was coarse n volume level had come down considerably. but after dryin n playin music for some time,it is restored to original
Please suggest me how to solve the above two problems as I don't really want to go to customer care for these little problems. Thanks.

try removing the battery sim and sd card and leave in hot press over night or look here

  • Issues with Ovi store in Nokia N8 and the OS is ha...

    Hi,
I have taken Nokia N8 in the month of March. It was all working fine and all of sudden I am noticing that the Ovi store is not opening tried resetting to factory settings, It did not help. Tried reinstalling the Ovi It also did not help. I went to Nokia Care and they said that they need to upgrade the software, They did but after that also the Ovi store is not opening they were also not able to install the ovi. they said that they need to check and if they cant then they need to send it to Delhi, I asked them for a Back up phone but they say that they cant give. what is this we take a Branded mobile paying such huge amount and when we have to give it service they say it will take a week to 10 days and for a time untill they confirm when they would give the mobile they cant provide a back up phone. Its really bad on Nokia. Its damaging the reputation of Nokia. Can this be looked into. Well I went to nokia care expecting a good hospitality but I felt like I went an Open market where if you want leave it else please keep moving....

    Re: Ebooks
Your explanation for adding ebooks to the phone:
"3 How to read eBook on Nokia
1 Download and install the Ebook for Nokia to use as your eBook reader.
2 Download the Doc or TCR version of an eBook (perhaps Frankenstein).
3 Transfer the downloaded file to your phone in the standard way."
Well the only way I know how to put ANYTHING on there is ZOON and ZOON DOES NOT HAVE AN OPTION IN IT FOR EBOOKS THAT I CAN SEE.
How is "IN THE STANDARD WAY" supposed to be of any use or help to me whatsoever when STANDARD WAY FOR EBOOKS IS NOT EVIDENT TO ME???

  • 2mm 2.5mm converter plug

i have just purchased a bluetube headset to reduce radiation but it is 2.5mm and does not fit my phone which is 2mm. does nokia sell a converter plug to these sizes, in australia? if so, where can i purchase one?

I have the same problem - albeit with different headphones. I've found that generic converters I have purchased do not fit properly into the phone. I assume that unless there is a problem with the phone jack I also need a Nokia converter plug. So my question is the same - are there such products available to purchase in Australia?

  • Nokia E7 - doesn't charge

This happened about a week ago - my E7 simply fails to "see" any charger. In order to get it to charge, I need to wiggle the cable and put it in some weird positions with surgical precision, otherwise it will lose the precious connection.
Needless to say it's quite annoying.
Question is - is this kind of faulty covered by warranty?

USB port on my Nokia E7 stopped working and I
could not charge or connect to the PC. Phone is 1.5 years old so I have approached
Nokia service for repair. I have been advised that due to the liquid damage my
phone will not be repaired and my guarantee is void. I am very shocked by this
as traces of moisture found inside the phone should not be classified as “liquid
damage” but effect of normal usage and minimal condensation especially next to
metal housing of USB and HDMI ports. In addition this “liquid damage” could not
affect proper operation of the phone or would not contribute in any way in USB
port problem. It is therefore very sad that Nokia is advocating such strange
policy and in the process is damaging it’s already week position on the market.
I can see that USB port problem is quite common and a lot of people have been
already hurt by Nokia’s “liquid damage” policy. Nokia should rather take a look
at the quality of the USB port and design of this area. As many others I have
lost my trust in Nokia’s products and their service approach. No more Nokia!

  • Lumia 1520 reboots when front camera is used

Hi all, I picked up an international version of the Lumia 1520 a couple of weeks back in India and I just realized that the phone reboots when ever I try to use the front camera. This is happening with all apps. The apps that i have tried till now are as follows
OneShot, Nokia Camera, Default camera app and Camera360.
The reboot happens with all the apps only when I try to use the front camera. I have tried hard resetting the phone but that too has not solved the problem. I have seen a couple of discusstions on this topic over here but none of them contained any helpful replies.
The handset is running the Lumia Black update. I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue or software issue. If it is a software issue I dont mind waiting for a patch, but if it is a hardware issue then I have no option but to reutrn to it. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I purchased a Nokia Lumia 1520 from Snapdeal. 2 days after using the phone, I inserted an SD card for data transfer and it didn't work with the phone. I tried to format the SD card as per Nokia forums and also tried to reset the phone but to no help. I took the handset to Nokia Care (Net Dot Solutions, Tilak Nagar, Delhi) and they tried to do a software upgrade but to no help.
I submitted the brand new working phone and the Nokia care kept it for 15 days. The only reply I ever got from them was that the set is in the factory with no status update at all. After 15 days I got response from Nokia care that the Phone is warranty devoid and not covered under warranty any more. There was no specific reason given for the warranty being devoid.
When I went to collect the set, it had minor scratches on the screen, which were not there when the set was submitted. The support personnel said that these are very minor and expected to be there. Very Strange! Also upon using the phone after I got it back from Nokia Care, I found that the front Camera is not working and the phone crashes each time the Camera is opened. Also the Auto-Brightness control (probably due to its sensor) is also not working.
Nokia care has damaged my phone in the 15 days they had it. Who is to be held responsible. And now they say my phone is warranty devoid and I need to pay for any repairs.
    NOKIA Care - Disgusting!

I've noticed that the E65 uses the same size screen as my N95 however the text and everything seems smaller and more detailed... is there any way i can get my N95 to look the same?
